While heading home today, the GPS routed me through local routes due to an accident on the bridge. This wound up being a fortuitous turn of events as it lead me past this Sharetea which I promptly pulled into. The store itself is located in a very small strip mall with some limited free parking available out front. The shop is small, but has some very limited seating if you decide to dine-in. Sharetea rarely does me wrong, and this location thankfully was no exception. Ordered a Mango Passion Fruit Tea w/ boba, and it came out as expected. The boba tea is good but the service is severely lacking. The drink maker was playing around with one of the cups with no gloves or anything. When I put in my order they started making it in this now dirty cup. I asked for a fresh one and while they fulfilled my request for a clean cup the annoyance and attitude was palpable. The worst boba I've ever had. I would give negative stars if possible. The matcha tasted like water and boba. No matcha added at all. Unfortunately I had already left before I tried my drink or I would have asked for a refund. $8 for green water and boba, no thanks. I never leave reviews but this needed to be said. I'm not sure if they changed owners but the recipe for drinks now is horrible. They got rid of mini boba as well which was one of the main reasons I chose this place over others. Won't be coming back. Super disappointed. I will be going elsewhere from now on. Make sure you try your drink before you leave if you go here, but I recommend against it. Also the service isn't great. Being glared at while you reach for your order isn't welcoming. I wasn't even told that my drink was finished, I had to go sort through the drinks to find mine. I rarely write a horrible review but this place deserves it. Wanted to support a local business so I took a visitor with me. Never had share tea before and was excited. However, upon arrival, the cashier/host was super rude, mean, and had an attitude. I didn't know how to order or what I was doing and she just looked at me as if I was stupid. The Asian lady who was making the drinks also was rude and was not helpful. They acted as if they did not needed my business. How am I supposed to know what sweetness, bobas, and whatever comes with the drink if I have never had it? Totally ruined my first time experience with boba or whatever you want to call this. Definitely not the place you want to go to for the ambiance or to get the full experience, but it's okay for the little space itself. Wow. Surprised at the 1 star reviews. I've been to this shop several times and the owner has always been pleasant. Maybe because I walk into most places friendly with a smile. I'm quite certain it is not easy dealing with the Marin entitled. Consumers could try being polite, friendly, courteous and gracious. I had a conversation with the owner who has difficulty retaining reliable staff. ATTENTION TO MANAGER/OWNER: We tried calling in today at 7:38pm to place our order. Called several times. No one picked up. The website says 8pm closing time. We were trying to be courteous and get our orders in so the drinks were ready before closing. I dialed 7 times, no answer. We arrive to sharetea at 7:51pm, now we have to get our order in person. Two very young ladies were at the counter. The one who attended us told us that because they were "short on boba they were closing up early". Boba is simply a side option, not a main ingredient needed for every drink. So there was NO reason why they should be trying to stop order flow before closing time. Whats the whole point of a closing time of 8pm? She said they started cleaning up early because of the boba shortage and limited us to just 2 drinks. Unfortunately, this seems like a couple of young employees who don't understand what, "Open until 8pm" actually means. Management needs to step in and probably reiterate that these young employees can't make up their own closing time with their own rules just because higher leadership isn't watching. Sharetea is boba place near my school that a lot of students go to. SERVICE : The people work fast to take your order and get it done. There are usually students from my school that work every time I go there so it's nice to see familiar people taking my order and making my drink. DRINKS : I have tried the Mango Ice Blended, Strawberry Ice Blended, and Taro Ice Blended. My personal favorite that I always get is the Mango Ice Blended with Vanilla Ice Cream and Boba. The Mango Ice Blended comes in one size. I usually don't finish it so I would recommend sharing the drink. I have tried a few other drinks from here but did not enjoy them. WAIT TIME : Usually when I go to Sharetea theres either no line or just a few customers ahead of me. So, theres really not much of a wait in my experience. AMBIANCE, DECOR : Theres a few seats facing the window. Not really a good boba location to come and talk. Customers usually just order their drink(s) and go. I give ShareTea on 3 out of 5 star rating. I've tried a few drinks from here but did not like any of them except for the Mango Blended. Boba shop franchise with roots back to Taiwan and dozens of locations in NorCal. Located in a small strip mall in Central San Rafael, easily accessible off 101 in either direction, with free parking, and fast service. The tapioca balls are made by Corporate in Taiwan and shipped to each franchise where they are then cooked daily. Texture of the finished product is textbook: chewy and cooked through. The taro flavor is a powder and as of this review they don't have the fresh chunky stuff available. That said the flavor is delicious. The drink is creamy. Nothing worse than a watered down boba but don't worry you won't get that here. They have many other flavors for all the weirdos who don't drink taro boba. Service: Who cares? I don't review bad service because we all know damn well this simple fact of life, so say it with me: I am a bo-bitch and if the tea is fire I'll swallow my pride and come back regardless. I have had my fair shares of boba tea as an avid asian dessert hunter. Went in to order a classic boba milk tea. The service was horrible. A lady (who seemed like the store owner) helped with my order. She seemed miserable, rolled her eyes at me, and gave me attitude when I wanted to adjust my drink's ice and sugar levels. The drink was horrible. It tasted like water and ice. I paid $7 for tea-colored iced water. I will never go back. I'm sorry the store has bad reviews. I was craving some Boba after work and the Sharetea located in San Rafael was the closest one to me. This location has the absolute worst customer service ever. And when I say worst customer service I mean that throughout any type of establishment I've been to, whether it was a hotel, or restaurant, gym etc. I walked in to no greeting, but instead was just stared at by three different workers. Finally one of the workers came up to the cash register and literally just stared at me for 10 secondsuntil I said some thing. She had black with some brown in her hair, glasses and AirPods in. No sense of decency to customer service at all. No thank you, no please, no nothing. I felt like she was mad at me for even coming in to order lol. I ordered a peach Oolang tea with aiyu jelly and the ladu told me we only make that with green tea. I continued to say no you don't and I could substitute for another tea. She then rolled her eyes and the lady behind her said you can order it with oolang to if you'd like. The drink was super bland and I feel like she made my drink incorrectly on purpose because of me correcting her. If you're craving Boba, I advise you to drive away from this place and take the extra time to check out something else because you'll only get bad vibes/customer service and terrible drinks here. I ordered the mango mojito with light ice, instead I got a short cup, full of ice, with a couple sips of juice. I didn't taste the mint either. I was so mad, I went home and made my own version with fresh mint from my garden... it was delicious! This place is always so underwhelming... especially the service. I forgot to grab straws, as I went back to the window I see one of their employees watching me and giggling, then says "forgot something?"... When I was pulling into the parling a girl was coming out of the back but when i got off my car she walked to the back again, I wanted for about a minute for her to come back and I greeted her with a Hi and she cut me off and said "give me a second" as her back was facing me, she was wiping her hands with a towel. We came here on a Thursday night and this place was super packed. This location is super small so the line continued outside. I'm not sure if it was normal foe this place to be this packed or maybe it was just a summer thing. We waited for about 20 minutes to get our drinks. There were only two workers here and they were very friendly and apologetic about the wait. We didn't care much about the wait. What we didn't like were the drinks. There's only one size and it's a large size. You can adjust the ice and sugar level (except for the Hokkaido Milk Tea which was what I ordered). We ordered the Fresh Milk Tea which was very bland (we didn't adjust the sugar level on this one). The drink just felt like it was "water" down with milk and didn't blend well. The Hokkaido Milk Tea was just okay, nothing special. The egg pudding was good and the boba was a bit chewy for my taste. I'm only giving this a 3 star because of the service. read more

It is such a hassle to order your drink from this place. You can't just come In and order, you have to order online. I understand if ordering online makes it easier for consumers. But it is very confusing and so much hassle. This is the only Sharetea that I've been to that does this. For you to be able to order online, not only do you have yo register, but you have to provide all your information including your address and stuff. No option to checkout as guest. My question is, why all this hassle for customers who just wants a cup of tea? Don't come here thinking you'll get in and out with what you want. Though I no longer live in San Rafael, I still visit somewhat frequently to see my parents. Growing up in the area, I didn't expect much in regards of Asian cuisine. So I was delighted to find this Sharetea near downtown San Rafael. Having a place to get boba in Marin County is a godsend. They have all the regular flavors that all the other Sharetea locations have, including my favorites such as matcha green tea with ice cream (a glorified milk shake). While I do appreciate this business, the location is not ideal. There is only a few counter seats and even fewer parking spots among this tiny "shopping center." This is strictly a to-go location, not meant to meet up with friends and chat, or work wirelessly. And since this is Marin County, they are only open until 9:00 PM (8:00 PM on Sundays). Nevertheless, having a tried-and-true boba place in the area is needed. The service is always fast and courteous, and the drinks always tasty. read more
