Not bad. I would say it's a decent lunch spot but wouldn't recommend dinner here. It's popular with the younger crowd so it can get busy, just a FYI. My family and I came here at the request of my daughter (she loves boba. Actually, my whole family loves boba) and I was open to checking it out. I played it safe so instead of a Poke bowl, I got a Bahn Mi sando and a bunch of sides. My family got Poke bowls. The sandwich was good, it had nice flavor and textures between the french bread, crispy veggies and spread. The sides were not bad but they were all fried so you can't really mess that up. I also ordered the Peach Iced Tea, which looked amazing in their picture with fruit in the tea but came out with no fruit. It wasn't the biggest deal since the tea was still very good but I would imagine that all their teas are different than the pictures. We decided to eat there and luckily they have a few tables. I think their business is catered to "To-Go" service as we had to ask for plates. I'll probably be back for some takeout boba and eats for the wife and kids.

Delicious mango Boba tea. I think they used mango puree. Yummy. Friendly and efficient service. Easy parking. A nice hang out place with lots of seating. I didn't try the food options, yet.

Casual eatery serving Poke bowls, Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches, milk teas, and other Asian eats located in a shopping mall Novato Fair Shopping Center. I ordered a Pearl's Milk Tea and Regular poke bowl. The Pearl's milk tea is ok but I love the popping lychee. The regular poke bowl is delicious, I will order again to try others in the menu, not many of this business exist in the area.

The food was fresh and well prepared. It came quickly. The service was excellent and very attentive. The place is a little hidden gem the ambiance was bright and clean. The cost was a little on the high side, but that is the price for quality food and good service.

I came in to try new yakisoba while studying at a nearby cafe. Place is cool, clean, food is fresh & delicious, made right in front of you basically. Yum!

The only thing that I've ever tried at Pearl is their delicious bahn mi sandwiches. Before I discovered Pearl, it was impossible to find a decent bahn mi anywhere in Marin county. They have a nice selection of other sandwiches and rice, dishes, etc. They seem to have worked out a lot of the kinks that they had when they first opened so I will definitely keep going back. The staff there is great beyond ambience is nothing too exciting but it is extremely clean which I really appreciate. Definitely go check out Pearl in Novato.

My milk tea, I know I drank it, it was so good.

Today I visited, I wanted a boba, first impression was wow its so clean in here..The gentleman working greeted me and helped me decide..Everyone always get my Boba for me so I didn't know what to get..I lft with two Vietnamese milk coffee with Boba and a strawberry tea with mixed jelly..I also had a teriyaki bowl, it was good..I ate it so I didn't get a picture..All the food was good, my drink was good, Boba were fresh.. The service was really good, friendly, helpful I couldn't have had a better person to help me. He was very quick to greet each and every person that walked in and gave quick service.. I obviously always want my food to be good, but bad service can mess you up for returning..I'd say 100 % today was given..Appreciate the service and the yummy snacks..

Second Time I Try This Place Out. The Last Time I Just Had Boba But This Time I Tried Their Thai Tea Food Which Was Delicious! It Was Really Cute Inside & The Cashier Was Very Kind & Welcoming.

Great Bobas. Great service and food. We enjoy coming here. And now they're offering pineapple soft-serve for a period of time.

Just wanted to update my review to speak about the food. I was worried that the great reviews are mainly for the drinks, but a lot of the menu sounded so appetizing that I had to try it out. We ordered the BBQ Beef Sandwich, Chicken Yakitori Bowl, Tofu Sandwich, Popcorn Chicken and a couple drinks. All of the food was great. The sandwiches were great portions for the price with flavorful protein and fresh vegetables. The popcorn chicken were small crispy nuggets, served with a sweet and spicy sauce. That sauce would've great on the sandwich too!! The chicken yakitori bowl was also very good. There's so many other menu items that sound great to try and everything pairs well with the plentiful options of drinks. Definitely a great spot in the neighborhood and will be added to our main rotation of food spots!

Had the salmon fresh roll here and it was so flavorful. They give you a big portion too. The rose milk tea was lovely too.

How many oz are held in the regular size vs the large size? I have heard that the regular size here is smaller than the usual regular boba cups in other shops.

Regular is 16oz and Large is 20oz

2.5 STARS kuma cafe…read moreis a small cafe serving quick bites and boba, conveniently located in downtown san rafael. even though it's in downtown san rafael, i've never had trouble finding street parking nearby. since you order on a tablet, there's not usually anyone behind the counter until the food comes out. it seems like there's only one person working, so it can sometimes take a bit for things to come out. i usually order online for a quicker pickup, although it's slightly more expensive. there are a few tables inside, but it's really a to-go place. - egg sandwich w/ salad (2.5/5): i love japanese egg sandwiches, so i really wanted to try this! the sandwich had a good kewpie mayo flavor, and it was slightly sweet. i enjoyed the flavor, but the sandwich was too wet and messy to eat. some of the mayo was dripping out of the sides. there were also small bits of tobiko and cabbage. it wasn't a big sandwich for the price, but it did come with a salad that was topped with a good sweet and creamy dressing - spicy tuna sandwich w/ chips (1/5): literally like canned tuna with some spicy seasoning, although it wasn't super spicy. it also had some thick slices of cucumber and red onion. the chips were kind of stale, and they tasted like they were supposed to be ruffles or lays salted chips. this was pretty disappointing, and i'm not sure why it cost that much - poke (2.5/5): pretty standard, and an okay portion for price. they offered all of the basic ingredients and different kinds of fish. my bowl didn't have a lot of fish in it, but they did give me a lot of tamago (sweet egg), which made up for the lack of protein. i ordered the soy house sauce, but it reminded me more of a bright ponzu. honestly, the ingredients didn't really taste the freshest, but i thought it was fine and the best food i tried here - jasmine rose milk tea (1.5/5): strong rose flavor! it was still pretty sweet at 50% sugar, and it got overwhelmingly sweet by the end. i usually finish drinks, even if i don't like them, but it was hard to finish - sando brown sugar milk tea (4/5): my favorite milky drink i tried! it had a pretty good black tea and chocolate malt flavor. i really liked the crunchy texture of the malt topping, although i think it could've used a little less malt and more drink. i thought this was very unique! - lychee dragon fruit (4/5): like a light lemonade! i didn't really taste the lychee. the dragon fruit flavor was subtle, but it was definitely there, especially at the end with all the dragon fruit bits. it came with lychee jelly, which made the drink pretty sweet - fizzy yuzu (4/5): literally a yuzu soda, which was tart and citrusy. it was a little too sour for me at first, but the yuzu flavor was great. i actually really liked the kiwi popping boba, which added some sweetness to the drink and curbed the tartness. the kiwi popping boba did taste like kiwi, and it was so unique! - momo peach iced matcha [seasonal] (1/5): the worst drink i tried... there was so much peach jam that it tasted super sweet, and the jam didn't even have a strong peach flavor. the amount of jam also made the drink extremely goopy, even after mixing, and i couldn't taste the matcha at all. i didn't finish this drink the boba here was inconsistent - sometimes it was soft and chewy, and other times, it was on the hard end. for the drinks that came with a topping, they didn't let me sub out the topping with something else. i would've had to pay for an additional topping in order to change it. overall, i'm not really a big fan of kuma cafe, but there aren't that many options in san rafael. compared to oddcha, i think kuma cafe offers more unique asian flavors, like dragon fruit or yuzu. when i'm working near downtown, i'll still stop by to get my boba fix but will head somewhere else for lunch.

The lady working there (an older woman) was just the sweetest. She greeted us with a big smile, welcomed us in, and even thanked us for stopping by. It really made the visit feel extra personal. We tried a few drinks: the Mango Fresh Milk with boba was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet which is perfect for a hot day. The Iced Matcha with boba was smooth and flavorful; I loved that it actually tasted like real matcha. I did ask for less ice, which oddly came with an extra 85 cent charge, but honestly, it was still worth it. My daughter got the Kuma Blue Cloud Raspberry, which was creamy, fun looking, and caffeine free! It's definitely a nice spot to grab a good drink and relax for a bit. The only downside is that they don't have a public restroom, which was a little inconvenient. Still, we'll definitely be back for more drinks and that friendly service!

From the moment we sat down and the server came to our table she was completely unpleasant and had a major attitude. Very condescending but with a smile. It was as if she didn't want us to be there and took it out on us. If I were the owners I would seriously be concerned with this server taking care of customers. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try the food, but we weren't willing to spend our money in a place where we're not welcomed. So, we walked a few minutes down the road and went to the Grazie restaurant. Amazing experience. Amazing customer service. Don't spend your money in places where you get poor service. There are too many choices out there! ***I can't reply to the owners reply (there's no option in Yelp) to my post so I'm adding my reply here. I do hope the owner sees it. What's a shame is that owners like you don't take accountability for your servers providing poor service. If you were so-called only 10 feet away then you would have noticed that we walked out and you would have noticed that your server was rude and condescending when we asked her simple questions about the menu. If you were so-called only 10 feet away and you were such a great owner then why didn't you care that we were leaving? How about you take accountability for your establishment and your employees... you know what's really sad about this... as an owner this is how you respond? What kind of owner are you? After your response , why would I ever want to discuss this face to face with you? You called me a liar. If you don't care, and you want to respond unprofessionally, well, that sounds like a you problem. I was in the food and service industry managing multiple restaurants for many years. I know how to treat customers and when I need to have a conversation with my employees for their poor behaviors. I would definitely never go to a restaurant where the owner doesn't care about their customers experience. Good luck with everything!
