Bad service. Their teas are marked as you can pick sweetness. When you pick 0% sweetness it still comes out as sweet because the syrup they put in is sugary. I ordered a guava ice tea with lychee jellly and boba. It came out disgusting sweet. I asked for him Tj change it and he gave me milk jasmine tea. I said I want jasmine boba - then he came back with plain jasmine tea. No boba no jelly. Just frustrated. Why did I pay you $9.00 for this? And when I said thank you he said Ya! And walked away. Review #012 - 2026 Our group of 11 showed up at around 2 PM on Friday, June12th. The guy, who appears to be the owner, was not very pleasant when we asked him questions regarding their drink offers. I try my very best not to drink artificial sugar or food color because it's bad for my health! He stated that they use powdered flavorings and syrup so I assumed they were artificial so I decided not to get anything for myself. The kids all got a drink and as you can see from my pictures, the colors are very artificial! They all said their drinks were just ok! One of my sisters is highly sensitive to sugar as it will affect her palpations so she asked if their matcha had sugar and the owner said, "no!" so she decided to order her avocado shake with less ice and added a scoop of matcha. Sadly, the matcha powder has sugar in it so she went to let the owner know and he gave her a terrible attitude saying that she was being hard to please. For someone who has no health issue, a little sugar won't affect them. However, if your body can't process sugar, it makes a world of a difference. He kept arguing with my sister and finally went to bring out the matcha package and sure enough sugar was listed as one of the main ingredients. If you are in the business to sell food, you should know what is in your food products before telling customers that something isn't in that item, just in case a customer has an allergic reaction. I am very forgiving, but I do not like people who are too lazy to check before telling me that something is or isn't in my food/drinks just for me to find out after I've already ate/drank it! The worst part is rather than apologizing for your own lack of knowledge, you choose to argue with your customer to make them feel belittled! We are definitely NOT coming back to this place! Just here to charge the car and realized the battery wasn't the only empty thing among us. I looked around to see that there is a Ramen restaurant, a Habit Burger, and a Starbucks all in the parking lot. Decisions.... Popped into the thrift store and then on my way to trashy but trusty Starbucks) noticed a Boba shop with a visible menu on the wall that listed Poke Bowls, Viet sandwiches, teriyaki chicken bowls etc. I decide to dip in after a quick peek at their Yelp page. Very friendly and welcoming service, lots to choose from on their menu but I went with one of their newer offerings: a Chicken Yakisoba bowl. Not bad. I would say it's a decent lunch spot but wouldn't recommend dinner here. It's popular with the younger crowd so it can get busy, just a FYI. My family and I came here at the request of my daughter (she loves boba. Actually, my whole family loves boba) and I was open to checking it out. I played it safe so instead of a Poke bowl, I got a Bahn Mi sando and a bunch of sides. My family got Poke bowls. The sandwich was good, it had nice flavor and textures between the french bread, crispy veggies and spread. The sides were not bad but they were all fried so you can't really mess that up. I also ordered the Peach Iced Tea, which looked amazing in their picture with fruit in the tea but came out with no fruit. It wasn't the biggest deal since the tea was still very good but I would imagine that all their teas are different than the pictures. We decided to eat there and luckily they have a few tables. Just wanted to update my review to speak about the food. I was worried that the great reviews are mainly for the drinks, but a lot of the menu sounded so appetizing that I had to try it out. We ordered the BBQ Beef Sandwich, Chicken Yakitori Bowl, Tofu Sandwich, Popcorn Chicken and a couple drinks. All of the food was great. The sandwiches were great portions for the price with flavorful protein and fresh vegetables. The popcorn chicken were small crispy nuggets, served with a sweet and spicy sauce. That sauce would've great on the sandwich too!! The chicken yakitori bowl was also very good. There's so many other menu items that sound great to try and everything pairs well with the plentiful options of drinks. This spot has been a favorite ever since they opened a few years ago. My teen age daughter loves their bubble teas and got me to try one one day over lunch I was instantly hooked! I typically order one of their fruit milk teas. I have tried the cantaloupe, honey dew, mango and strawberry milk teas. I have had several other fruit flavored jellies plus the popping flavored balls that you can choose to add in conjunction with the tapioca pearls. The combination of the three different toppings that you can use to make choose from are good and create an astronomical event inside your mouth which is quite wonderful. In addition to the tasty teas offered they also have a quite robust menu. They do offer a lot of finger foods to snack on and they also have full size portions of chicken teryaki and other Asian infused delights. I personally have enjoyed the finger foods oe appetizers like the mozzarella sticks with ranch and the pot stickers. The service is fairly good and whenever i have had an issue, which has occurred a few times especially when I attempt to have the teas and food delivered using one of the food service apps ...I have received teas without any bobas, terribly flavored brown sugar tea that was 100% bitter with no sweetness whatsoever, and a order of extremely hardened mozzarella sticks. I do not want to count too much of my overall experience rating with the restaurant bc the delivery is somehow fumbled most every time I have ordered but I still think it is worth mentioning. So if ever I do experience an issue tang bring it to the manager or owner ( one in the same) I find he is quick to respond and happy to make whatever I have found not to my liking a bit better. All in all a great spot in Novato to have and with the younger crowd still raving over there during lunch breaks and after school I hope Pearl stays around for the long term as it adds a decent option in Novato for faster, decent food. read more

I wanted to like this place, but now I'm annoyed. I place an order online for a bbq pork sandwich, salmon salad, tempora shrimp fresh roll, and a drink. When I go to pick up the salad, the salmon is raw and not cooked. No where on their menu and in the description does it say that the salmon is raw. I asked the girl behind the counter if the salmon is meant to be raw. She says yes and I let her know that information is not posted anywhere online and that I didn't realize I was ordering a raw salmon salad. I've now paid for a salad I can't eat. When I asked for a refund, the manager said the only thing he was willing to do is to take the raw salmon off my salad and cook it for me quickly. I could do that at home, however, I'm not happy with that option either bc I still have raw salmon touching every other ingredient in my salad. So I decline and I left annoyed. Once I get home, I realized they didn't give me a tempura shrimp fresh roll, but a prawn fresh roll. And by the way, these shrimp are not prawn size, but small shrimp size. I called Pearl to let them know they made mistake on my order (bc I was already annoyed and disappointed at this point). The girl who answered apologized and said she'd talk to the manager about getting the 2 items (salad and fresh roll) refunded from my order and that she'd give me a call. She was really nice. I hung up a little less annoyed and hopeful this would be resolved. And just to be clear, I didn't call to ask for a refund because that was already turned down. I just really needed them to know there was a mistake with the tempura rolls. It was the employee over the phone who suggested she would try to get a refund. The manager called me and was SUPER RUDE! So rude I'm shaking out of anger while typing this. He took no responsibility for getting part of my order wrong! He told me I "should have known the salmon was raw bc it's a poke place and things that are cooked are stated." Then he told me he knows for a fact that he put tempura in my roll and that I'm basically lying. I emailed him the picture attached. Where's the tempura? And I didn't order a poke bowl, I ordered a salad, not sure how I was supposed to know the protein would be raw. Don't assume every customer that walks into your establishment is familiar with poke. If people avoided every place they were unfamiliar with, they'd never try new things. All I suggested was that in the description of the salad, they make it clear to a customer that's not aware or familiar with your cuisine that the salmon is uncooked. No need to have the audacity to get all indignant about it. Just know if you go to this place, and they make a mistake on your order, the manager will not take responsibility and will just call you a liar. First time here because my co worker raved about it. So we ordered online to go and we got a confirmation to pick up in 20 min. Went to pick it up and there was a line. The cashier was not very friendly and professional at all. I was told that I have to wait longer for my order which bummed me out because that was my lunchtime. A few years back, I made a commitment to never write a bad review, unless the business was truly heinous. I don't believe in ruining people's businesses, but I do have some things to say about my experience, and so I'm giving them 4 stars, even though I would normally give a 3. I guess the extra star is for being the only boba tea place in Novato! I moved to Novato nine months ago, and it's strange that me as a Chinese person hadn't visited the only boba tea place in town, when it's 3 minutes away from where I live. But I was driving home and a milk tea sounded soooo good. As a Hong Kong native, I typically drink milk tea as breakfast, but I had cut it out of my morning routine per the advice of my acupuncturist. And so to treat myself to the occasional milk tea is kinda special. I stopped by Pearl and ended up getting the Taro Milk Tea with grass jelly. So just a few things I'd like to say about it. I'm in my 40s, and so this is not a milk tea for an adult in their 40s if you're buying this for yourself or other adults. If you're looking for a ShareTea or HongCha type place, this is not it.... it's more like a Quickly, if you catch my drift. I wasn't sure if there was actually tea in it or just sugar water. With that said, the terrible-ness of it was kind of pleasant in that "I'm-in-my-40s-I-shouldn't-be-drinking-this" kind of way....and proceeded to down the entire thing before I got home (again, I live 3 mins away). It's like if you want a milkshake and you convince yourself to get a milk tea instead because it would be technically healthier, but it's not really.... maybe slightly. Now if you're in your 40s and you're taking your kids to get a treat, then this place is great. Seems like a great kids treat with fun flavors etc. I also wanted to mention that I thought it was kinda annoying the toppings are not listed somewhere as if we're suppose to just know what all the toppings are from looking at the containers from behind the glass. Again, maybe I'm being too adult about this. My grass jelly floated at the top which I found kind of weird. I didn't get any until the end and couldn't suck up some of it because it was just amongst the ice with no liquid.... so it made me question the contents of this "grass jelly." These are just some things I wanted to say -- really just trying to put the perspective out there of what this place is because there's definitely an audience for it out there, I'd like to specify for anyone passing by Novato and wondering. But seriously, given the lack of Asian places in Novato, Pearl is pretty good, all things considering. I don't really understand the lack of Asian places in Novato and Marin in general given there are plenty of Asians here. I guess all the Asians here are engineers, execs, doctors, lawyers and other rich occupations, no one here wants to open a restaurant. Anyhow, that's all I gotta say. Just a heads up... As with everything else we had today, it tasted very fresh. My daughter said that the peanut sauce was better. I agreed. My other daughter had the veggie spring rolls (fried). They were definitely fried after we had ordered them. That's unusual and impressive. They came with a side of sweet and sour sauce. I had the BBQ beef Vietnamese sandwich (banh mi). The bread had changed and was not the typical (better) banh mi bread. This bread was soft like Hawaiian bread. I hope that this was a temporary departure because they ran out of the usual bread. Really good bubble tea I went in and got the passion fruit regular that comes with boba included. I also added the rainbow jellies for an extra .50 cents. The bubble tea,boba, and jellies tasted very fresh. The place was very clean inside, and the service was extremely friendly. If you are in the area and craving bubble tea this is s great place they had around 25 different flavors from juices to milk teas. Have had some amazing and one or two mediocre poke bowls here. I love how easy it is to order online through their website. You can check the boxes of everything you want, and they text when your order will be ready. I agree with another person that I wish they cut their cucumbers differently, or at least took some of the skin off. The cuts are too big for the rest of the ingredients. Would be better if they were cut like the carrots or were half the size they currently are. I paid for the mango to be added last time and it was 100% worth it. Perfectly ripe and delicious mango! Also the people saying that tipping was 'forced' online don't know how to read. If you don't want to tip you can check the zero box. It's not hard. But also just tip, that's not hard either. Pearl's seems to have a lack of communication with their Dashers. Two times now the dasher has picked up the bag with the order and left the boba drinks. The receipt is on the bag even, which the dashers aren't reading and checking the bags for completion. Maybe the drinks need to be put in the large bags securely with a tray. If it's happening to me it's happening to other people as well ordering food and drink. The food and drinks are great but the communication with delivery services needs to improve.
