Boba bobaboba It was once my favorite boba place in the mall, but became one of the many typical boba places everywhere. Although their peach smoothie is better than the milky boba. Back then I would have rated it between 3 1/2 to 4 because the taste was great. Now it's just plain, watered down and pricey. The way they made the Thai tea milky boba that my cousin ordered was not good at all. She made me taste it and we agreed on a lot of things. For $6.59 we are expecting the price will match the taste. One thing for sure is that it tasted like plain water with just added milk. She went ahead and asked if there is anything they can do to make it taste less watery. What they did is just added more milk which just change the color lighter and still taste like water with milk mixed together (Thai tea taste is no longer there). The avocado smoothie was also disappointing because it doesn't even taste like how avocado smoothie should taste like (again taste like watered down drink) :( . I don't know if they are just not adding enough ingredients or they just don't know what it really taste like. The pearls was also hard like it was not made fresh the same day. It taste as if you just put it in the refrigerator for many days and kept reusing. Unlike other location they make their boba every four hour or so to have the fresh consistency. Also , when my cousin and aunty approached them about the issue. They didn't even tell them to remake it or anything it's more of a FYI letting them know that this is what's going on and shared their experience about the drink. They just wanted to make sure , the next customer will have a better experience. The worker or probably the owner just said that's just how the boba should be because it was shaken together with the cold drink. . I know for sure that the pearl/boba doesn't suddenly turn hard rock because it was mixed in with the cold drink. We have made them fresh at home before and they are suppose to be soft and chewy , not hard and disgusting when eating it . ATMOSPHERE This place is food court style, but there is a little seating area in front of the place. It's usually not crowded so you could probably find a seat! WHAT DID I TRY? I've only ever tried their strawberry banana smoothie with boba. It has been extremely difficult to find a place that sells a good strawberry banana smoothie and uses real fruit. I have tried so many, and always been disappointed. However, back when this place used to be in the Tacoma Mall (where Cinnabon is right now), I gave them a try. It was so good! The best I've ever had in my life! Keeping that in mind, when I went to Southcenter, I was expecting this same yummy smoothie, but what I got was watered down version and kind of just tasted like sugar and water. I don't know if they changed their recipe or if it was just a bad day? The other times I've been had been okay. Doesn't hit the same as when they were in Tacoma though. I'll have to give them one last try before I decide whether I have to find a new smoothie place. SERVICE Their service is pretty minimal compared to when they were at the Tacoma Mall. They don't really talk to their customers beside the necessaries to take orders. When they were in Tacoma, I remember having such a nice conversation with the manager. OVERALL I gave them 2 stars because their strawberry banana smoothie with boba was not good at all, and their service is minimal. read more

Amazing service! The drinks came out fast and didn't taste artificial at all. Yes I know they use syrup but it didn't have that weird sweetness flavor it usually has. The pricing is the best priced boba i've seen for awhile. Can't tell you about the smoothies or slushees but the flavored teas are the way to go if you want something refreshing and sweet! read more

This place isn't terrible, but it isn't great either lol. Pretty okay drink (cotton candy), but I definitely don't think it was worth the price ($6). If you're paying that much for just an ice blended drink you might as well just go to one of the many boba places nearby. I went because I assumed it would be less & it was closest to me. My bf and I were craving bubble tea so we found this place using Yelp. I saw that the reviews weren't so pleasant but wanted to give it a shot anyway. Bad mistake. He ordered the honeydew bubble tea and I ordered the blueberry banana fruit slushie. Mine was completely watered down and the tapioca (charged extra for) was very hard. His honeydew bubble tea was way too icy and the tapioca was very tough. $10 for both our drinks and what we got was not bubble tea. :( read more

Certainly not the best boba I've ever had...especially for the price. I ordered a large coconut milk tea with tapioca. Coconut flavor was very weak and had *way* too many bland tasting shredded coconut flakes...which I wasn't expecting in my drink at all. Tapioca was flavorless as well. I've definitely experienced better bubble tea. I've tried the mango smoothie with bobas. The mango smoothie itself was pretty good - a little too sweet, but the flavor was pretty solid. My bobas, however, were still frozen in the center. As in, icy and NOT chewy or soft. Definitely a no-no in bubble teas. I really, really like the the bubble tea here. In fact, I think the reason why I like the drinks so much is because the "bubble tea" here has more of a smoothie/slush texture than the traditional "milk tea". A bit different from what people expect but it's definitely a pleasant surprise! Not to mention they use real fruits so the taste isn't overwhelmingly sweet comparing to the ones made from powder. When I got my hands on a blueberry bubble tea for my very first order, I was sold and kept on wanting more. You can taste the tiny chunks of the fruit in the drink and made the drink felt really fresh. Even though it's just a stand in the Southcenter mall, it's definitely worth a try, or maybe several in my case. Price wise, it's about $5+tax for a large bubble tea. To think that's almost the price of a meal somewhere is a bit startling, but totally worth the money in my opinion. I see this place all the time but I've always been scared to try it out. And I learned why we have intuitions. I only came because a friend had a BOGO a coupon for bubble tea/smoothie. There was only one woman working so props to her for tackling the big party before us by herself. But her customer service was horrible. She seemed like she hated her job and she hated the customers. I don't think she wanted to be stuck at the mall serving cold treats to mall people. I worked at the mall for three years at a kiosk as well and it is a depressing job, but I mean... Even I didn't make customers feel like nuisances. Very cold and unwelcoming. I got a "fresh fruit" mango pineapple smoothie with tapioca. The tapioca was surprisingly good. The "fresh fruit" smoothie was not fresh fruit. It didn't taste fresh... So if it was then... Wat. It wasn't gross, but it isn't what I expected fresh fruit to taste like. I finished the tapioca but when I was down to the last half of the actual smoothie itself, I threw it away. No ragrets. They also have gelato that seems untouched and partly melted, and dry cakes on display. Very bad service but glad I tried it via BOGO but I will definitely listen to my intuition more often. read more

Saw this over in South Center Mall. They have a few options to choose from as they do some bubble tea, smoothies and fresh fruit smoothies. Gelato and a few other items as well. Price is a bit higher than the norm, and if they tables in front of the stand are all occupied, you'll have to find a place to sit. It was absolutely horrible i ordered 2 drinks, a coconut slushie with tapioca and a melon sulshie with lychee. The coconut was abysmal, it was literally water with boba at the bottom and chunks of what i hope was coconut floating in pieces at the top of the drink, and thr boba was mushy. This was my first time venturing outside of my regular milk tea places. Never again. I ordered the regular milk tea without flavoring as usual without boba. I got large boba in my milk tea, and was most likely charged for it. My friend and I were the only two customers at the time, so no long, and no hurry as we sat at a table to wait. It was nice that there were tables for us to sit and drink as we people watch. The milk tea was flavorless and the boba was hard. I didn't eat most of it, because I couldn't convince myself to do so! This is the first bad review I've ever written. First boba tea I've had to throw away. The "no refund" sign by the register should have been a red flag. I ordered an avocado smoothie with boba (normally a favorite) and it must have been made with an old stringy avocado because that is exactly what it tasted like. Went here after buying a great deal on living social. I had the peach bubble tea with tapioca and my husband had the coconut bubble tea with tapioca. Both drinks were very yummy! The coconut one especially tasted very real - not like a coconut powder or syrup was used. There were coconut flakes in it too. The tapioca was actually better than some other places. A big smaller but great taste and texture. Both drinks were a bit on the thin side though...I like bubble tea smoothies to be much thicker than that. Otherwise happy with our experience. read more

What I did order, the coffee slush with boba, wasn't all that great, either: like a watered-down Frappuccino with boba too far on the side of al dente.
