The Mechanics there were very helpful, welcoming and honest. also let me know the prices for a tune up and a tune up with an oil change; what I appreciated. I've been coming to Mancz for about three years now. The folks there are fine and trustworthy mechanics that I've had the fortune to deal with. They feel and look the part of being family-owned, and they give off the aura that they've been around for a long time. So, you know that they know what they're doing. The Place: I usually come in with my car and park somewhere on the usually crowded lot where I wouldn't be in the way. They have a gas pump. The office is cramped, cluttered, and old-school; it reminds me of my dad's old job in a pipe workshop. The desk is right next to the entrance and there's no waiting room so you might have to form a line outside if a customer or two is already inside. Personal highlights: 1) My very first call to them. My family had a broken axle on a 2007 Toyota Corolla and it couldn't be driven without the sound of dragging metal. I found Mancz online and I called them. Chris came over to our house with a tow truck, towed the car to their shop, and got us out of a bind. 2) My lady and I planned a drive from New York to Missouri for Christmas using her 2016 Hyundai Accent. I informed Paul of this impending trip and he read my mind, saying he would inspect the car, making sure it would make the trip as if it were his own vehicle. In the end, they changed a bad battery, which no doubt could've caused problems somewhere in that 2,000 mile trip and in freezing temperatures. 3) My family had a stalling problem on a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer. The car would stop if it went over 50 mph or if it was driven for a while. This car saw different mechanics prior to Mancz and had its throttle and fuel pump changed, but the issue persisted. A mechanic thought it was the computer, but my family had just about given up by then, not wanting to put any more money in it... After two years, I inherited the car and brought it to Mancz. I spoke with one of the guys (I'll put his name here when I find out) and he listened carefully and patiently to two years worth of broken information and frustration. They went in to check the computer - which indeed was the problem - but they also discovered that the throttle put in by a previous mechanic was defective. They went to work, keeping the car at their shop for two weeks (no extra charge) to make time to order, receive, and install a new computer and a new throttle. The first computer came to them defective, so they kept the car for another week. If it was one of those other bozos, the car would probably still be a dud. After two years, the car could run on the highway again without stalling. The People: The folks at Mancz are knowledgeable and fine mechanics who care about what they do. They'll give you a break down of your receipt and they'll also give you some advice. For the most part, they're approachable. However, before you call to make an appointment, make sure you know what you're talking about. I don't always do. I had one bad experience when I couldn't eloquently explain a problem to one of them and he acted rude and impatient, dismissing what I was trying to tell him. It was fine in the end, but I was stewing when he admitted he was trying to be like a "detective" when he's in no position to act like a bad cop; he's still in the business of customer service. He should be acting more like a receptive "doctor". Mancz has saved our *sses in the few years we've been going to them and I will keep coming back. They'll most likely take care of my children as well. Whenever I leave them, I feel confident with the money I spent and I always feel more enlightened than before I walked in. I do highly recommend them. A great mechanic is hard to find and this one is a keeper. read more

Always honest, never trying to "up sell" or "pitch" you a repair. It's refreshing to know that you have an honest, 2nd generation, family owned repair shop to go to for any issue you may have. I dropped in the other day, told Chris Mancz "I need a new tire can you order one". Chris' response was "maybe the tire can be repaired. Your tires are expensive". He jacked up my car, found 2 screws in the tire, fixed the holes, and sent me on my way. 99% of shops would have just sold me a new tire. Always a bit skeptical when I bring my car anywhere but these guys are honest, reliable and accommodating. When my water pump went before doingbthe work they informed me of a recall on this part. They could've said nothing and did the work, charging me for something Ford would possible cover but they made me aware of this. To me this is priceless.
