Owner takes it to Nor-Great Auto Repair for the first time A.) on DEC. 19, 2017 with 37,565 miles. And on B.) JUN 7, 2018 , C.) OCT. 17, 2018 , D.) DEC. 17, 2018 with 47,754 miles, E.) JUN. 4, 2019 with 52,655 miles, F.) DEC. 10, 2019 with 57,525 miles, G.) DEC. 21, 2020 with 66,650 miles . Now on SEPT 8, 2021 the Dealership itself services it at 80,249 miles. On OCT. 18, 2021 i become the next owner bringing the car to my New Jersey home. I get it serviced nearby in North Brunswick, NJ on JAN 24, 2022 with 86,701 miles. Now NEXT upcoming HERE is where Nor-Great Neck Repair Makes An Error! On MAY 1, 2022 they enter in that my car is getting an oil change. They don't put in the mileage. I get my Oil Change at the same previous North Brunswick, NJ Chevy dealership on MAY 23, 2022 with 90,796 miles. Through out the years Noted Above this Nor-Great Neck has been entering in NonExistent Repairs to my car!! On AUG 7th, 2024 i get my car repaired with 113,315 miles. AND HERE COMES Nor-Great Neck Garage AGAIN entering in my car data on APR 4, 2025 , but THIS TIME entering in a Fake Odometer Mileage of 55,960 !! As of MAY 12th, 2024 my odometer is 133,335 miles. Today around 4PM, while I was driving my 2017 Honda CRV, a lot of warnings came onto the screen. In the beginning I didn't worry much but at some point I got a warning of the car overheating so I had to pull over as soon as possible. I pulled over into the Nor Service's Center, when I tried to turn-off the engine, I couldn't do it as usual, I had to follow instructions and pressed the ignition twice. The person at the desk talked to me immediately. He was very calm and professional. He took the car and they checked the computer, they ran diagnostics and added coolant. In 35 minutes the car was good as new. Even the "Tire Pressure Low" warning disappeared (A warning for which I checked my tires in the past over and over and couldn't get rid of) They charged me minimal. I am so grateful to them for helping me right away, for working on fixing my car immediately, for being honest with me and for charging me only $30 for the labor. I have went to many auto shops in my life but at this center, I was treated the best. Thank you. read more

I had a furstrating experiance at this place a while ago. I went to get an inspection of my car. After they finished their inspection, the guy told me I needed to change the tire on the spot. If not, I will fail the inspection but responsible for inspection fee. Which means that if I don't buy a tire from them, I will waste inspection fee. Ofcourse the tires were expensive, but I had to buy it from them. I couldn't waste inspection fee and the time I already spent there. I have no way to find out how bad the tires were, but their practice was not ethical. At least they should've told me in advance so I could choose to proceed the inspection or not. I never went back to this BP after that incident. Not even for the gas. read more

Typical car repair service . Two guys working and they do help you once you get there but you have to leave your car for inspections. The New York State inspection is always headache. And this is not o my for this place it's for almost for all the repair shop in nyc. I don't know how but they have to fix this problem Especially if you have older cars they will sure give you some other bill just to make some money. read more

Cheats! Two years ago I went here for an inspection. They told me the vehicle failed due to worn tires. I felt trapped. I had to buy a set of new tires from them on the spot. I did, but I left this place with a bad taste in my mouth. It felt like a scam. Turns out it was--they sold me a couple of used tires! I didn't know it at the time, of course. Now two years and 16k miles later, two of the tires are so worn that I failed inspection again (at a different place--I wouldn't come back here, even for gas.) The guy who inspected my vehicle now (who I trust) pointed out that two of the four tires I bought at Nor-Great Neck Service Center must have been USED as they wore down much more than the other two tires. I brought my car in for an inspection last year, and they failed me and told me I had to change my tires, but you clearly see that the tires had about 40% thread left on them. And according to them this would cost me about $1200. Obviously skipped them, and took the car on a different day to a different shop and the car passed inspection with no problems Fast forward a year later, and i realize i am overdue for inspection. Note that this shop is only a few blocks away from my house, so on a Saturday morning i made the decision to ring the car here again for an inspection, again they failed me. I was told that the car needed to be fixed and it would cost me about $900-$1000 to do so. Fortunately, i was well aware that my car did not have that problem, and just simply left the shop. Keeping in mind that they failed me and i had to pay for the failed inspection twice for reasons that were not reasonable or legit. I hardly take the time to make any complains, unless i feel the situation was really unfair and dishonest. From my personal experience, i will not bring my car back to this shop. And with so many more options, i would never recommend anyone to bring their car to this shop. I have been a car guy for many and have performed many jobs on my cars on my own, and i cannot agree with a business that will take advantage of any uninformed customers to make an extra buck. read more

Said I had to replace entire oil fuel pan- while in reality the nut where the cap is needed to be replaced. Told him I'm not interest and towed it via AAA to another place who solved the problem w/o replacing fuel oil pan. Drained out the entire engine oil in the process without telling me the issue w/ the oil pan cap. So in reality he made out w/ nearly 6 quarts of motor oil. Ontop of charging me for removing the oil.. hilarious. read more

These guys are legit. Certainly know what they're doing. My car problems started a few months ago when my check engine light came on. My car seemed to be running okay but I took it to my local Honda service center THREE separate times to check it out and all three times they were pretty clueless and told me that if the car was running okay, I should just ignore the light. Over the next few months, I could notice subtle changes to my car... sort of felt a bit more sluggish than usual. Then one day, my check engine light started blinking and something definitely did not feel right. I've been to this place a few times in the past for inspection and I know they do a very thorough job, so I brought it here once again to have my car checked out. I didn't have an appointment and my car was in the garage for a diagnostic check right away. I got a call an hour later by Vishnu (manager) telling me I needed to have my ignition coils and spark plugs replaced. My tire pressure sensor was also malfunctioning (something the Honda people did not pick up on) and they replaced that too. These guys even threw in a complimentary oil change since I was soon due for one. I told them I needed my car all fixed and ready to go for a long road trip the next morning and they had my car all ready in three hours! Pricing was very fair and I feel like the money is definitely worth the quality of service they perform. Now my car is running very smoothly and that annoying check engine light is finally gone! I really appreciate the awesome service. If you want honest pricing and high quality repairs to your car, I would definitely recommend getting it repaired here. read more

Extremely bad customer service. I was there for an inspection. They failed my inspection due to the need for new tires. I told them that I would change my tires and then came back for re-inspection. The guy insisted to me that they were selling tires and even the same brand that I was having on my car. I told him that I would need to do some research before making the tire purchase and that I would come back when I would be ready. I did my research and got my tires changed at Costco. I came back to Nor-great to re-inspect my car. The same guy was there and asked what I needed. I told him that I had changed the tires and would like to re-inspect. He then remembered me and then walked around my car and saw that I did get new tires. He then asked me to parked to the rear of the office. I did as he told me. After a short while, I asked him when he could re-inspect my car. He then said it would be two hours. I told him that I was in a hurry and asked whether he could expedite it since he had already seen that I did get new tires. He said that it didn't matter that he saw the new tires it would still be two hours. I was disappointed and told him that I was in a hurry to start my Labour Day Weekend trip and would take the re-inspection to another shop if it was going to take that long. The guy fired back sarcastically, "Please take it to another place. I don't need your business. Go Go now...." I was shocked. Didn't this guy know that he was running a business? read more

Do not go here!! These people are liars! The inspection was due on my brand new car. I spoke to Paul the manager, and he was very rude and pushy. He tried to scare me into buying two new tires which my car did not need. He said that my car would not pass inspection if I did not purchase the tires. I asked him to show me why I needed tires and he was very hesitant and made me wait about 20 minutes before he took me into the shop to see my current tires. In this time he just sat on his phone and the mechanic that I saw from the window was just sitting around on his phone too. Both Paul and his mechanic came across like moody teenagers, not professionals. When I was finally taken into the shop the mechanic told me that the tires were good and that the car would pass inspection with no problem. So why would the manager try to force tires on me??? I told the manager that I wanted my keys back and that what he was doing was illegal and unethical!! He made a sarcastic remark under his breath after he gave me the keys. I took my car right up the block to another service station and got the inspection done without any issues. What a ripoff!! I will never go back here ever!! Don't spend your hard earned money at this repair shop folks!! The manager Paul is a real jerk and a thief. I can't imagine that this place has many customers. Horrible experience. read more

They damaged my headlight connector while doing a simple bulb change.. Had to take my car to Subaru where I was shown the damaged connector that was all cracked and stuffed back into the wrong place. Subaru said it was clear that someone who didn't know what they were doing was in there and tried to then cover up the damage. When I called nor great neck to discuss this I was rudely treated. He refused to even consider the possibility that his techs damaged my car and hung up on me. I have taken both of my vehicles to this station consistently and will never use them again after how the owner treated me. Shameful establishment. A simple bulb change which is $30 now cost me $300 for a new connector, harness and labor. So glad I visited nor great neck. #idiots read more

We were away from home visiting our son for the weekend in LI and punctured a tire. 3 PM on the Saturday before Labor Day - didn't feel great about driving around LI and home to PA for the weekend on a spare without another tire in the event of a problem. Started driving down Northern Boulevard looking for someone who could plug the tire to give me peace of mind for the weekend. First place I hit was one of the "chain" tire stores - told me they had couldn't get the job done. Next stop - NOR Great Neck Service Center. Told them my dilemma and they said no problem - can take care of it right away. Very polite and helpful staff, well kept shop, very reasonable price - including putting the tire back on the car and remounting the spare. In and out in less than a half hour! I bought in my car for an inspection, they failed me and charged me $1000 to fix it. I felt trapped because if I didn't let them fix it, they wouldn't let my car pass inspection. So I let them fix it and got a new car battery from them. But the battery failed in 2 months. I brought the car back and they said there's something else wrong with it, that's why the battery is not working. I took the car to another shop and everything is fine, they just sold me a bad battery. I asked for a refund on the battery but they refused. Worse of all, the manager keeps hanging up on me. He is rude and unprofessional. This shop will scam you, overcharge you and sell you bad parts, do not come to this shop!!! read more

I went to get an oil change from this place. The owner calls me and tells me my wiper blades also needs to be replaced. I told him I got them replaced a couple weeks ago, but he said they need to be replaced. I gave him the benefit of the doubt (big mistake). He replaced them with used blades that clearly had wear and tear. THAT'S NOT ALL. Few weeks past and I noticed oil spots under my car wherever I parked. Engine oil was leaking. I took the car to another mechanic. The mechanic tells me oil change was never done and the filter wasn't changed. These crooks are lucky I am not pressing charges. DO NOT GO HERE! read more
