    ST Louis Ribs

My wife and I have been to Bobbique numerous times over the years and have never been disappointed. If you are looking for authentic barbecue, great rotating beer selection, great live music and a solid bourbon selection this place is for you. Bobique offers a phenomenal selection of smoked and barbecue meats. Of particular note is the Saint Louis ribs. Dry rub, not to dry, not to Smokey. The pulled pork, brisket and sausage are also fantastic. For a change to the usual buffalo bar wings check out the wings here. A delicious change of pace. I can't understand why anyone would criticize the ribs here? They are awesome. If anyone thinks they don't "fall of the bone" check out my attached photo. Oh, by the way .. best baked beans ever! We typically order more food than we did tonight. I'll include more photos after our next visit. EVERY server, bartender, hostess is excellent. The owner is always present and dedicated to making sure you have a top notch experience. Come for the food, stay for the tunes.. Pinkies up!

Ribs were fantastic! Sweet potato fries and dipping sauce great! Peppers were clean and tasty . Leave the beans ( couldn't decide if they wanted to be sweet or savory and tasted just that way). Cole slaw was disappointing! Corn bread tasted like pound cake not corn like at all! Service was good.

The bf has been wanting to try this establishment and made 7:30pm reservations for Saturday October 5th 2024. The band 60's Invasion was scheduled to perform that night. We were seated at our table and soon the place was packed! Our server Courtney was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The drinks were strong and food delicious! I had the two meat combo, BBQ chicken and shrimp. He had the three meat..BBQ chicken, ribs and sausage. Each dish was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Collard greens, baked beans (my favorite) and cucumber salad were our sides. We shared a delicious slice of pecan pie for dessert. While we dined, the band sang groovy songs from the Swinging Sixties! The entire restaurant was in on the action. After watching the Mets win...on one of the seven big screen tv's, we all were ready to PARTY! I have to say....A TIME WAS HAD!! We're sure to return again for the food and excellent service!

You won't find traditional BBQ like this anywhere!!! Their combo platters are the best! Amazing BBQ chicken and ribs. You'll thank me!

3 MEAT COMBO with cucumber salad and side of collard greens. Of course had to get the extra cornbread as well. Delicious

This is a nice spot for a good BBQ meal. They have a bar and tons of TVs playing the different sports games. We also saw that they do bring in live music, so that's always fun. Our wait time for ordering and being served was decent, not too long, so that was another plus! The server was really friendly and helpful. Prices are right on with what you expect for good BBQ, not too pricey...(psst...they have lunch specials mon thru Friday!) What we ordered: Smoked sausage tray with two sides(i picked collard greans and colesaw) and a cornbread. Pulled Pork Sandwich The meats were cooked perfectly, no complaints at all...you can even smell the BBQ when you walk in! The coleslaw was good, fresh and a nice flavor. The collard greens were very acidic, not that crazy about them. The cornbread was decent, nothing to write home about...a bit on the dry side. Would we come back, sure! There's so much more we are curious about.

3 stars for Bobbique of Patchogue on Main Street. Locals- please add an extra one for the place to be in the area which has been there 18 years with owner Eric. The newby Abby has been there a month and likes working there. Seems when we were seated there was a woman upfront who was unhappy with her takeout order of wings. Eric was a gentleman and gave her back her money. This is a caring business man. He also seemed to know his regulars. Wednesday is there most busy day as they have a band (see pix) that does a Jam night and the audience can participate with the band. Cool. It did sound fun. As for the food- while there is a lot to choose from , well I feel like the Bar rescue guy would say - what do you serve- lets see if we can fancy it up. Fatty briscuit (not included in the choice of meats for the package) I wonder how much we paid per pound for it. Large chicken wings - They note that they are large. One order could be 5 and is enough. With the meat special they give 3 as one choice. Cooked very well done and taste grilled . Their sausage choice is Kilbasi and is well cooked. Their mac and cheese is home made. Sadly the corn on the cob is just boiled. Bar is nicely kept, much paraphaniala for decor including many bottles on above shelves and a few unique pictures at the front counter. various tables and bench seats for bigger parties, all covered with brown meat wrapping paper. Bathrooms in back. Even a sign for braclet purchases to the Pinball shop a few stores down. Parking is metered on street or in back and yes there are some handicap spots. The sign notes meter starts at 6pm.

I came for dinner with my mother and we had Jenifer. She was super super sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. She checked up on us a perfect amount of times. I really enjoyed my visit. Also played good music. The food was amazing and it was nice and quiet for a bar! Huge portions so make sure you're hungry!! My mom and I shared the bbq chicken salad and the sausage pretzel and had left overs still! It was so yummy will definitely be coming back.

Here's The Good, The Bad and The Ugly for Bobbique. (Bonus points if you've seen the movie) The Good: it is barbecue! In a coastal town where there's so much seafood it's good to have a BBQ option. The pulled pork is GOOD. I would prefer a little more smokey bark. But sometimes you get what you get. I'll have to ask next time. The pulled pork is moist and you get a good mix of the different muscles. The ribs are GOOD. Nicely smoked to tenderness and then chared a bit before coming out nice and hot. There are not all sauced up. So if saucy ribs is your thing the sauce is on the table. The wings are GOOD. No actually they're the best thing I tried this visit. Smokey. Crispy. Tasty. Moist. Delicious. No hot sauce needed. And now for the bad. It pains me to say that rhe Burnt Ends were BAD. Well, one of the cubes was tender and delicious. But only one. The rest were tough. There was a good bark on each cube so I have high hopes for the sliced Brisket (that I did not try this trip). But it was clear that after the brisket was cubed it was NOT bathed in butter and bbq sauce and put back in the smoker for another hour or two to get them super soft and delicious. So I don't think of them as Burnt Ends, just ends. And The Ugly? Doesn't exist. The waitress was nice, friendly, and helpful. The bartender was great, she made a good Manhatten and asked my preference before making it.

Not all that great. You can't beat the price for the lunch special and although it looks amazing, it wasn't great. Our service was alright, our waitress forgot my boyfriend's drink but it wasn't busy and eventually brought it! Great place for a night out when they have music but not crazy about the food.

    Chicken wings, sooo good!

I haven't been to Bobbique in a while and want to write an updated review for 2022. Patchogue is going through a great revitalization, it seems like a new restaurant opens once a month. My wife and I wanted to try one of these new spots so we came into town. On a Friday. With no reservation. I thought if we arrived at 6pm, we could slide right in. Yeah right! There was a line outside and people were waiting in the rain. Mrs Bill S isn't having that after a long day. I said, let's go to Bobbique? We walked in with no reservation. Bobbique has over 20+ beers on tap, I placed an order for chicken wings and a pint. Look at my picture, those chicken wings are fire! If there is a Long Island chicken wing contest, Bobbique wins hands down. They aren't a sauced up sticky mess. These wings are smoked to perfection. Crispy skin with a great smoke taste. The same with the full rack of ribs. The ribs were juicy, has a nice caramelization and also had a great smoky flavor. So we didn't get to try the hottest restaurant on Main St. Bobbique is a great spot making some righteous BBQ along with multiple beer taps? It's no wonder they're been here for over a decade. Total fan!

On top of that, my damn car decided to up and die, so I've been bleeding money on Ubers just to get to and from work. I even had to go into work on my day off just to sit around waiting for the tow truck so they could junk it. Love that for me. After I handled business with the junkers, I said eff it and headed to Whiskey Neat. I was starving--no breakfast, running on fumes--and since my job's in Patchogue, I figured I'd finally try them for lunch. First of all... happy hour on a Saturday from 12-6?! Uhhh hello?? In my Angelina from Jersey Shore voice. And if you pay cash, you get the discount. Say less. They've got a fabulous small plates menu. I started with the French onion soup--ooey gooey mozzarella, cheese pull was undefeated. Soup was delicious too. I haven't had French onion in ages and it really hit. Then I had the pulled pork slider, which was really good, but BABY... those short rib croquettes? To. Die. For. I also had to get my classic deviled eggs. A little heavy-handed on the paprika, but still solid. Drinks were half off, so of course I indulged. Started with an espresso martini because I needed something to jumpstart my day. Then I had a French martini because duh--I'm a French girl ‍. That one was good. Finished with my classic cosmo. Not gonna lie, I've had better, but it did what it needed to do and helped me forget my troubles for a couple hours. Also great playlist of music. I got there and they were playing Ska. Love me some Reel Big Fish and No Doubt. Mixed with some Motown and Bob Marley. Made me remember the good old days.

I've been to Main Street Patchogue a few times before and I'm always amazed at how it's now like Huntington, with tons of eateries, bars and places to hear live music. It was a busy late Spring Friday night and my cousin told me if we were there just two weeks later (ie, post Memorial Day), there would have been lines to get in anywhere. So make resos! I made one easily earlier that day and when we arrived around 7:30, it was not packed, but it is pretty loud in there even half full. Our waiter, Jonathan, expertly took such great care of us from start to finish, even taking my father's dad jokes in stride. There's a solid cocktail menu, but I had a couple glasses of a better-than-decent prosecco. My cousin loved his espresso martini. For food, count on a couple respectable vegan entrees and I went with the Japanese eggplant with cashew ricotta. The eggplant is delicious, slightly sweet with a creamy rather than chewy (thank god) texture. The cashew ricotta is also tasty, but I do think it needed to be blended a bit more to remove the slightly grainy texture (the cashews might have needed more soaking). My father loved his French onion soup and pastrami sandwich. Separate paragraph for the fries. They deserve it. I'm glad we ordered these to share- it's an enormous platter of them. I appreciated that they were salted perfectly. I appreciate restaurants that can make satisfy a variety of preferences and dietary restrictions. The vibe here is festive and vibrant and a great choice for groups and families.

I'll say the cocktail program in this "Patchogue-chic" spot is solid and fantastic; Laura has poured me great drinks with good convo. Past nights Anthony showed great knowledge and skills behind the bar and one night readjusted my understanding of the history of the building (which I dig, I love that Shands General store was actually the oldest building in town and I'm glad it's a nod back to that, with brick house stepping out and its' sign remaining on the back of the building) I should say that basically, for the majority, the front of the house is great; Very few exceptions there but they do exist. A while back I had wanted a fresh pasta and to show someone the place, but Shands had beef Wellington on the menu and it's one of my favorites that you really don't see everywhere or splurge for often. So there it was, I knew my order, started with a French onion and short rib soup, but this had ZERO SHORT RIB and was pretty lack luster, & come to think of it, one of the least appealing French onion soups I've had, real unfortunate; the crouton/bread was so deteriorated it was as if it had been sitting in the broth for 2 days. A good French onion really should have the bread floated when broiling the cheese over the top to form a nice crust, instead the crouton was submerged and dissolved as the cheese was just a melty glob of what seemed to be presented more like a mozzarella than Gruyère or Swiss, but it had a sharpness in there I just don't know about this execution I guess... there was a lack of onion, and a lack of flavor, it needed depth which maybe the short rib gives it if "the chef is feeling generous enough that night " to include it. $20 soups for the both of us and only one of the bowls had any of the short rib, unfortunately for them, the douche who likes to post on Yelp is the one that didn't get any. butternut hummus was good... it came out looking like they dropped the bowl on the way over but no big deal My first time in, I had a heavenly, light and flavorful, melt you into a damn puddle, pasta dish; it was the Mafaldine at its best) Really miss those duck wings they sourced locally. Sad story about the local duck farm "Crescent". He had to euthanize his entire population due to a bird flu outbreak, they supplied 4% of the duck to the entire country but sadly had to close down at the end of january; the staff let me know and I had to research it quick. (I imagine this is an issue sweeping the nation as we've all seen egg prices explode) The prep that Shands did on those things... they were next level! Typically you'd think a duck wing would be a little less meat or a bit tougher than a chicken but they did really well making them so tender and heavenly, impressive work honestly; maybe they can pay homage with some other type... I'd try some ostrich wings... it would probably be like a bbq rib or something... I digress. On to the main show, the Wellington... The portion was indeed large, it was a nice cut of meat but this really should have been showcased better. I'm sure the staff at places like this think everything they do is perfect and I'm just a jerk for mentioning my dismay here on Yelp, but they served a beef Wellington where the inside of the puff pastry crust was soggy... the outside crust was cooked but a great Wellington has a FLAKY crust, this wasn't that. At this crazy price your beef Wellington should be perfect or at least satisfying. The rest of the technique on the dish was fine, it had the right stuff which shockingly I've had wellingtons where they didn't do the mushrooms or didn't do the prosciutto layer so I appreciated that. I'm also pretty sure they used Duxelles and cooked them down wonderfully which is an easy step to miss that could ruin everything. Wellington ain't easy to perfect, I myself don't work well with puff pastry and I cannot even make a halfway decent Wellington but in my humble opinion, this wasn't too great either. Overall, would I suggest you go and spend your own $300 on this meal? No. I can't tell you that your money is well spent here. I've been to countless cheaper, nicer, and tastier places that don't have pretension baked into the price. Long Island can be a wasteland sometimes. Good meals I've had here included things like the hanger steak, pasta dishes, duck wings, Brussels and hummus.. maybe even their squash blossoms if I remember right... it's possible that wasn't them though. The brunch: steak and eggs were glorious, but even better were my nieces pancakes! Holy crap, how do they get them so thick yet so airy, fluffy, and dreamy? You can spend less if you take a train to Manhattan but have a drink here, those are never a miss.

I definitely recommend the outdoor area if you've got a nice enough night for it. The drink variety won't blow your pants off, but it's got something for everybody and at prices that won't blow your pants off either. Although I didn't get a chance to try any of the food, from what I saw though it looked like good bar fare, and I in particular was eyeing the pizza. There's no dedicated parking lot, but there is some decent parking along the side streets nearby that shouldn't give you too much issue.
