Went on a Sunday evening. Was not crowded and atmosphere looked nice, so decided to eat there. They have a great selection of beers. Ordered the 3 meat combo platter and was very disappointed. The ribs were so dry and hard, shrimp way over cooked, the smoked sausage was delicious, the sweet potato fries were shriveled and cold, corn bread was good. After hearing such good things we were shocked. Staff was nice, not overly available. Wouldn't go back secondary to more negatives than positives. read more

We ate at Bobbique for the first time on Friday night. Was very excited when I saw their extensive list of craft beers. I think I ordered one from Port Jeff Brewery, it was really good. Anyway, I went with the chicken and waffles. This was my first time trying this dish. Loved the combination of fried meat, waffles, syrup. However, the fried chicken was over cooked. I'm sure this dish would be amazing if they cooked the chicken correctly. Only mentioning this because my lady's chicken tenders or whatever were also dry and over cooked. Not sure if it's because they were busy, but they need to pull the chicken from the fryer sooner. On a more positive note, the Potato Salad is really good, as is the Mac and Cheese. We also had Fried Pickles. The pickles alone were really excellent. However, the dipping sauce makes no sense. It's bitter in the same way that pickles are, which makes it unnecessary and the flavors redundant. They should serve the fried pickles with a zesty/chipolte/spicy mayo instead. Would make for a better contrast of flavors. Overall, I would say that Bobbigue is decent and it could have been an off-night in the kitchen. Great beer selection. I like this place. I was intrigued when it first opened and was not disappointed. The place has a nice casual, industrial feel to it. The food is above average. Nice portion sizes. Tasty. Fresh. I've tried several items from the brisket to the pulled pork, even the BBQ chicken. Nice selection of beers on tap and the staff are friendly. After an afternoon of beer sampling around LI, we ended up here for dinner. Never one to turn down barbecue, I looked forward to this place, especially after hearing they had a solid beer list. (Those who follow me are aware of how important this can be.) We were seated right away at the front of the restaurant. We were given a beer list, but there was also a list above us on the wall. One beer in particular stood out to me: the BrewDog IPA. I ordered it and then was very dismayed to find they didn't really have it, as the beer list on the wall had evidently not been updated to match the print list. (Tired of perusing, I settled on a Sixpoint.) Bobbique's menu has a ton of offerings and combos, so it caters to a variety of barbecue/American tastes. Just about everyone went with a combo, and I thought it was a good idea as well, to try as much as I could without having to be rolled out the door. I got a two meat combo with chopped brisket, BBQ shrimp, collards, potato salad, and cornbread. The cornbread was good - moist, buttery, and with a nice crust. The potato salad was not swimming in mayo, the potatoes weren't mealy or mushy, and was better than average. Shrimp had a nice spice to them and were cooked properly. Then there was the brisket and the collards. The brisket, I'm sorry to say, looked like cat food. It said "chopped" on the menu and it was certainly that - chopped into uniformly sized chunks and slathered in a sauce that was way too sweet for my liking. The collards were also not very good. I adore collards, and I can eat them by the bowlful when done properly. These collards tasted as if they too had been drenched in sugar. I've never had sweet collards, and I hope I don't in the future. There was also no discernible pork with them - no ham, bacon, or anything to promote any sort of smoky flavor. Our waitress was fantastic - we were a table of ten, and she split our checks accordingly with no problems or complaints. She was attentive and friendly, and deserves the credit for not making my meal a complete fail. Stopped by here today for a late lunch - The place wasn't very crowded and surprisingly I wasn't hit by an overpowering smell of BBQ when we walked in. Out waitress was very nice and attentive. They had a large selection of beers and a list of fun cocktails. Overall the food was good. The portions were not overwhelming. I had ordered the chicken fingers with a side of Mac & Cheese and Red Bliss Potato salad. It also came with corn bread. The chicken was juicy and the breading crispy - the potato salad was killer! But the Mac & Cheese and corn bread lacked flavor. My friends had chili, another ribs and my husband had the brisket. All looked very good. Next time if we come back I'll actually order BBQ most likely something with pulled pork. The restaurant it self just seemed a little dirty including the bathroom - not as sleek as some of the other establishments on Main Street. read more

Not recommended. When you arrive, check out the bathrooms first, then decide if the kitchen that your food is prepared in might be as clean. Caked in dirt, flies, "peep hole" into neighboring stall, and the staff person that was in there didn't so much as glance at the sink, let alone wash her hands. Outside of the bathroom, the table placement was crammed and uncomfortable, but we did have a perfect view of the bartender eating his wings behind the bar. I have been here at least six times maybe more. Every time I come here I'm not disappointed they have one of the best beer selections for a restaurant/ bar. Pulled pork on top of there burger with melted cheese sauce is probably my go to when im not sure what i am in the mood for. Chicken wings are big and meaty better than most places. The beef brisket is always moist and delicious never dry. There sweet potato fries come with a maple dipping sauce which any restaurant that serves sweet potato fries should have that kind of sauce. So I ordered through Eat 24 for delivery and my food showed up 30 minutes earlier than anticipated. Yippieeee! Food was great, still warm and portion was way more than anticipated. Only suggestion, if your meal comes with fries ask to pack separate. Onion rings packed alone were crisp, warm and perfect. Fries packed with chicken were a bit soft. How the mighty have fallen. When this place opened several years ago, it was packed and jumping with good food, booze and a lively spirit. Walking in now, with the front room less than half full, the back room closed, and a bunch of suburban families eating their platters of food and then quietly leaving, I thought I would do the same before ordering. But I got hooked by the 100+ beer menu, and thought maybe the que was still OK. It's not. The pulled pork was passable, but not distinctive. The brisket was dry and devoid of any smoky flavor. The sides could have come from your local deli, including some cole slaw with no bite, and baked beans with no pork (Is this place vegan? kosher?) Sweet potato fries are better across the street at the Brickhouse. With no vinegar or hot sauce on the table (they'll bring you some, if you ask), it's apparent even the management doesn't know what good Barbecue is. Service was eager, but helpless. (Oh, did you say you wanted all white meat chicken? I think that's what I wrote down). How about checking when it's served? One star for the food; added another for the decent beer menu. With That said if we have a choice we'd both rather not sit at a high table and since the place literally was empty we asked to sit at a low table, normally we wouldn't have even asked but I don't know why but the waitress was nasty making comments for us asking to be moved then making nasty jokes with other customers and the bartender... Long story short it ended up being a good thing because we wound up making the extra 15 min trip out to smoking Al's which originally we didn't wanna travel because we were tired... While walking up and down Main St in Patchogue, my boyfriend and I stumbled across this great little BBQ joint for lunch. The decor is simple and bar-like, with metallic accents and an emphasis on their beer selection. We ordered two sandwiches. He got the pulled pork with coleslaw and the red bliss potato salad. I got the chopped brisket sandwich with baked beans. The brisket was perfection. It seemed that they used a mustard rub, and slow cooked it til fork tender. Excellent. And they did the bun right, too. It was slightly hard (maybe a day old) so the juices wouldn't soak through the bread. Smart. The baked beans were great but not incredible. The pulled pork sandwich was quite good and had the sweet and smokeyness that you look for. My favorite part of the meal though... Was the red bliss potato salad. Heaven. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this amazing establishment yet, as I have been a customer since they opened their doors many years ago. I have been here roughly 150-200 times since they have began in Patchogue. Their craft beer list and fantastic food has me constantly coming back. They also are always changing up their liquor and beer selections. The have live entertainment all the time and great specials to watch all the major games on television (including their large projection screen for the biggest events). If you are in Patchogue and love great beer, great food, live entertainment and I would be remiss not to mention one of the best staff on Long Island, then come to Bobbique! Go for the good beer (or bourbon) selection at cheap-to-resonable prices. Eat before you get there. Gems on the beer list, 12 different Dog Fish Head beers, Ayinger Celebrator, Founders Breakfast Stout, Ommegang on tap, BluePoint Rasta Rye on tap, Brooklyn Monster bottle for $6.00. Twenty four Belgian bottles on the list, most for $8 to $10.00. No beer snobs here, non-beer lovers can get PBR (in a can of course) for $3.00. The food is from bland to awful. Smoked sausage is edible, nothing else is. Collards were sweetened? Ribs dry and hard. Fried shrimp should come off the menu, they are too old and hard to eat. Mac and cheese overcooked watery pasta and velveta. Fried pickles were mostly breading, not enough pickle. I'm not a serious foody, but this was awful. Even the sweet potato fries were cold and soggy. This is a nice space to hang in. If you have a few friends get together for a beer, this is a nice place, but eat a sandwich at home so you won't be hungry. The bar is long and these is room to spread out. The band sucked, but they knew it and had fun on the mike anyway, so it was OK. Last mention, our waitress was a very nice young lady with a great attitude. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time and sadly it was a horrible experience. It started with being sat at a table that was so wobbly I felt like everything was gunna fall off it. Our waitress was rude and treated us like we were inconveniencing her the entire time. I ordered a cheese burger that was over cooked and had no flavor at all. My soda was flat and tasted like water with food coloring in it. My boyfriend had the ribs and chicken fingers. The ribs were so burnt and dried out and the chicken fingers looked like they were put in the fryer way to long. They were completely dried out. The mac and cheese tasted like watered down out of the box kraft mac and cheese. The prices are also outrageous for the serving sizes. Well tonight I did....and the only thing that I regret about tonight's little culinary journey is that I didn't try this place sooner!!!!! Located in the heart of Patchogue Village....just down the block from the legendary Patchogue Theatre.....you can smell the the tantalizing aroma of classic pit BBQ wafting down the street. Once inside it's a feast for the senses. The bar is stocked with a bevy of different beers, bourbons and whiskeys (that alone is enough to work me up into a froth) but that's a review for another time.....we're her to talk about some crazy good que. I went with the 3 meat combo (comes with 2 sides). I was a little disappointed that they ran out of brisket ( but that just means that it must be super delicious and they are really smokin this stuff.....and you can't rush good smoke). Instead I went with the BBQ'd Chicken, St. Louis Ribs & the Pulled Pork....along with baked beans and coleslaw. Now let me break this down for you.....the chicken was sweet...smokey...tender and juicy...almost impossible to stop eating it but I had 2 other offerings on my plate....seductively whispering my name. My next stop was the ribs.....OMG!!!!! These ribs were GANGSTA!!!!! I'm a rib junkie....and I was about to happily OD! They were unctuous and succulent with every bite. They were proudly sporting a perfectly crafted smoke ring which is visible with every meaty bite. The meat is so tender that it really does "fall off the bone" .....seriously....you don't even need teeth to eat these beauties. Now the pulled pork.....what can I say....hog heaven....sweet smokey shredded goodness generously plied on a soft bun to catch all of the heavenly porky nectar....when you pair each bite of of pulled pork with a touch of sauce and some of their perfectly creamy coleslaw....LOOKOUT!!! You're gonna need a cigarette and a nap! Their house sauce is a perfect accompaniment to all of these beautifully smoked meats. It's a Texas style BBQ sauce, which is tomato based with some simple yet complex nuances of sweetness, tangyness and just the right amount of heat that hits your tongue in all the right places. Now as for the baked beans.......I don't normally go nuts for the sides in these places.....but these beans were off the hook.....if you love bacon as much as I do...than look no further than these beans....they were packed with bacon! I would be perfectly happy to go swimming in a vat of these delightfully sweet smoky legumes. I had all to do but to keep from drinking the sauce! I came here after deciding against Gallo, a Spanish restaurant nearby. I'd heard good things about the BBQ here, so I went in with a pretty open mind. Well, it wasn't good at all. It should be noted that I came here at around 4, far from their peak hours. I got the ribs, bbq chicken, with mac n cheese and collard greens as sides. The sides were cold, very clearly just taken out of the fridge and heated up. Mac n cheese was chalky, chewy, not tasty at all. The collard greens were inedible, just very sweet floating in a liquid. The main dishes, BBQ chicken and ribs, were horrible as well. Both refrigerated and then heated. The ribs were obviously old, and the bark was stale. The chicken was the best part, but nothing great. We come here whenever we can see Easy Chief play-the great backyard barbeque feel, great food and drinks, fun crowd, room to dance and eat...all really make it a great atmosphere to see them! The only reson I wouldn't give this venue 5 stars is that when great bands play, they really need a tough manager cracking the whip with the staff. The kids who were helpful really stood out and were doing the best they could to manage the crowd waiting for tables, but the rest almost seemed just unprepared and in the way, which is strange because I know it's this place is crowded pretty often. The other thing a good manager could do is put up a list in the bathroom and assign someone whose job it is to go in every half hour (a MUST in a BBQ place, especially!!) and CLEAN! Two stalls in the ladies' and none in the mens' rooms, combined with the quickly deteriorating extremely stinky condition as the night progressed made for some pretty awkward conversations happening in the hall over and over near our table while people waited to get in, and then again as they expressed shock about the condition of the bathroom on their way out! When the toilet in the ladies room actually separated from the wall and lost its seat altogether, that was just too much! I absolutely LOVE this place and want to see them do well so I hope they fix this super-gross bathroom issue and I never have to wonder about ordering food in a place with inappropriate bathroom cleanup! More bar or small music venue than your typical BBQ Joint, Bobbique has its own brand of charm. They serve up some serious BBQ though and with a long beer list their popularity is warranted. Being that I was a bit toasted having just come from Blue Point Brewery I ordered up some fried pickles and a sh*t load of delicious smokey meat. My wife's salad (boo) with BBQ chicken was good, but come on...salad? My combo platter of St. Louis Ribs and Smoked Sausage with Mac N Cheese AND Sweet Potato Fries was epic. Large enough to feed a small African Village and delicious enough that I took it down myself (with some unsolicited help from the Mrs.). Decent day time atmosphere; I imagine it's substantially better with live music; good food, and a great beer selection make Bobbique a big BBQ contender on an island lacking heavily in that department. read more

Man I so wanted to like this place. Blues and BBQ in Patchogue a great idea but just not executed well. The place looks like it could be a good bar and seems to have a ton of beer choices but we went at lunch with my children.The place really isn't designed for small children but since the place was empty we were fine with a regular table and chairs. Our server was nice but with only us and then another table half seated half way across the cavernous room service was slow and we had to wait for the other table's drinks and their menu order before we got to give our order. With 3 small children, speed is crucial. Ultimately it is about the food. The food was hit or miss-- mostly miss. The ice teas was awful with a strange off-putting after taste. The pulled pork was pretty good and very flavorful but the slaw with it was not. The ribs were hard but had an OK taste (old ribs?) but definitely not fall off the bone tender. The fresh cut fries were good. The collard greens were oddly sweet and was cut into too tiny of pieces. The wings were the best part of the dinner. A little spicy and huge-- very good. The worst part of the meal had to be the brisket.. It was gray and hard. It looked like it was boiled. It had absolutely no flavor. The waitress explained about the slow way they BBQed it but I just couldn't believe that this would be the end result unless I was eating brisket from a week ago. She exchanged the brisket with the sausage was decent but too much was way off for me to ever recommend Bobbique or to ever come back. read more

This restaurant is just OK. Not amazing but not bad. I used to love their original Mac and Cheese but ever since they switched it to the dry shells I've been very disappointed. I came here after hitting up Bluepoint Brewery on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Being from Texas, I have high standards for barbecue, and this place was a pleasant surprise. The fries are AWESOME. I had the chopped brisket sandwich, and it was okay. The meat was a good cut, but where I'm from, chopped brisket is dripping with flavor that doesn't come from the BBQ sauce. Here, all the flavor came from the BBQ sauce. It was still good, but just not what I was used to. The unsweetened iced tea hit the spot though. read more
