I have been to four afternoon tea places on Long Island, and let me tell you this is the real deal. It is super cute and welcoming. The food is delicious. The scones my goodness the scones- pure chef's kiss. The tuna sandwich simple yet so tasty. Brie and pear sandwiches divine. I went with mango passion fruit tea ,and I loved it. On the weekends you cannot share the afternoon tea towers, every one has to get their own. You definitely need reservations for this place. Definitely come here and thank me later. I would love to have an event here. I will be returning soon hopefully.

I've been to tea spots all over Long Island, and I've finally found the perfect one! Not only is the decor cool and fun, but they truly put their money where your mouth is. From the sandwiches to the baked goods and even the homemade soup, everything was absolutely delicious. All of this is served in a gorgeous, relaxed setting that's perfect for unwinding. The amazing staff makes you feel so welcome and comfortable--it's such a treat! Highly recommend, and I will be back very soon~ Linda LaFleur

Came here with a friend for their Bridgerton Royal High Tea and Trivia night and it was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere is so cozy, fun, and quaint. The staff were warm and inviting. The food was delightful in both flavor and presentation. If you are looking for a cozy place to sit and read a book while enjoying some tea sandwiches and scones, or a spot to catch up with some friends and spill the tea this is the perfect place.

Cute place with delicious food and great service. We made a reservation for 1230 and were the first patrons as they open at 12. The decor was adorable, each table had different trinkets and tea cups of varying styles. I felt odd as I had my baby with me and wasn't sure how it would be accepted bringing her to a tea room but they didn't bat an eye or make me feel uncomfortable. I ordered the tea tier option #1 which came with my choice of four sandwiches, assorted fruit, a scone, and assorted baked goods. The tiers were 'per person' but there was truly so much food. The sandwiches were half of a full sized sandwich, I was expecting finger sandwiches so that was nice. There was a nice selection of sandwiches to choose from, and about three scone options. I went with the lavender scone which was tasty, and came with a side of jam and clotted cream. There was also some fruit on the tray and a variety of desserts including a brownie, cookies, muffins, etc. Everything was good and fresh. For tea I got the raspberry, the tier option came with a full pot. Our waitress was very attentive, and even though it took us a while to work through our tiers she didn't make us feel rushed or like she was trying to push us out which we have had happen at other tea rooms. There was also a selection of hats on the wall that are cleaned daily that they offered to you to wear to better get into the tea party role. Overall, a great experience and I look forward to returning!

Spent a rainy afternoon at the Mad Batter Tea Room with my daughters and granddaughters. It was warm and cozy inside and our waitress was so warm and friendly. We each ordered our favorite teas and enjoyed lunch. Three of us opted for the spinach quiche, made with puff pastry in lieu of pie crust. Very tasty! It was accompanied by an arugula salad. One granddaughter has the burger, it was huge. And the other gad mozzarella sticks, she is very fussy! Both girls had the red velvet cupcake with peppermint frosting for dessert. Lovely way to spend an afternoon

Looking for the most fun and exciting way to have some high Afternoon tea? Look no further! This tea room is so unique and exquisite. You can order a regular entree or the traditional afternoon tea tier with sandwiches, a scone and many delectable baked goodies. All the baking is done on the premises which means everything you taste is fresh and delicious. I ordered my own tier and my dining partner also. You get a choice of 4 different tea sandwiches. I highly recommend the Arugula pear & ricotta, Cucumber cream cheese & dill, Turkey Brie & apple and Crasin walnut cream cheese. I would venture to say any of the tea sandwiches are tasty. The bread was also fresh and soft . I tried everything that was offered . The baked desserts really were spectacular. I enjoyed the cookies , shortbread and brownie. The scone was also a treat , imagine a freshly baked scone - I was in love! A vast selection of tea for your own pot . I selected the Moroccan Mint green tea - so satisfying. The place itself is warm and inviting. Such cute decorations. There is also an option for a Kids afternoon tea . The tea room is great for groups , solo trips or events . The service was great, always checking on us and making sure we were enjoying ourselves . I can't say enough about The Mad Batter . This place was honestly my favorite experience in 2023! I look forward to suggesting the experience to others and returning for another adventure.

We went here today for a birthday brunch with the Golden girl bingo. We had so much fun. The host of the event were very funny and on point with their characters. I was grateful to have won one of the events. And the prize was awesome a gift certificate to go back and enjoy another meal there. The food on the buffet was very good. They had a lot of variety for the price. It was definitely worth it. They had salad, eggs and waffles, also sausages, broccoli, pasta, shrimp, pasta, baked chicken, with carrots, and potatoes And an amazingly tasting strawberry muffin. The food tasted very good. The chicken was cooked perfectly. I normally don't like sausage legs, but these had a lot of flavor. I felt the salad could use a little bit more dressing and a little less onions (not a big fan of onions). The outside of the building is so cute. It's at the end of a strip mall with a couple of other stores. Parking wasn't bad but I could see this parking lot getting full quickly. Inside was decorated for Halloween and done beautifully. They had an amazing Halloween dollhouse And the decor was just beautiful. They even decorated the bathroom. The main room doesn't have a lot of tables which makes it very quaint. We were able to get around and probably the place could accommodate about 50 people. It was kind of full for the event. The Waite staff was very attentive. Anytime you moved your plate away. They came and took it so as to not have dirty plates all over the place. I also loved that all the plates were mismatched, but still beautiful. All the teacup were mismatched, but still beautiful. My friend had an awesome cup of tea. As you know I'm a water snob and the water here tasted pretty good. It had cucumbers in it and it had a mild taste, but delicious. It seems like it could be a great place to celebrate a special event. They seem to go over the top to make sure everyone has a good time. Our golden girl hosts did an awesome job of making us feel welcomed, and lots of laughs. Looking forward to visiting again .

    Ambiance

Before I start my review I want to preface that my group and I are kind of tea house connoisseurs. It's a tradition we've had for years, and we've been to many tea houses. That being said, I think we might have unfair or high expectations. The ambiance is great and the place was so cute and fun. I loved that they have hats you can wear and really get the full experience. The sandwich's tasted good - favorite was the shrimp salad and the apple/brie/ turkey. My only complaint with the sandwiches was that I expected them to be on all different breads- I guess what we were used to from other places. They were way bigger than expected which I guess is nice since sometimes you feel skimped at other places. I just think it would be nice for maybe a variety of bread like croissant, flat bread etc. just my constructive criticism. The scones were really tasty and my only complaint here is that for a party of 6, they gave us 2 clotted creams/ jams when we each ordered the full tiered tea. We asked for another set of clotted cream/ jam and we're questioned by the waitress "oh that's not Enough?" I feel in this instance the customer is always right and the answer should've been of course! But it was awkward and we did end up finishing the first two sets before more was brought out. By the time a third came- we were all pretty much done with our scones. When it was time to pack stuff up she asked if we wanted a box for the cream/jam which felt like a dig. I just feel if we're all paying for the full tiered tea and each comes with jam/ cream we should each get our own or Atleast 3 sets for 6 adults. Overall we had fun and it was a good experience! I will also add that the waitress did ask multiple times if everything was ok and we just said yes. I'm not going to argue about how I think she handled the scone situation etc. or offer my suggestions on sandwiches. That would've been uncomfortable and we just wanted to enjoy our tea. We did advocate though when we were questioned if we really needed more cream/ jam.

This place is beautiful! We had a wonderful lunch and cocktails. The tea service was well done and delicious. The service was perfect. We cannot wait to dine there again. Have A "Down The Rabbit Hole" cocktail along the your "Tier". You pick what you want on your Tier and there are plenty of choices along with seasonal offerings.

I brought my mom for a surprise birthday party today and it was the best experience!!!! Lovely staff, delicious food, and precious ambiance. Make sure you make a reservation ahead so that you can be taken care of in the best way possible! My family will definitely be back again! So fun!!

We had a bachelorette party here. The day was cold and we got flurries and rain outside. Inside was so cozy, warm, inviting and friendly! Great service! Excellent staff! Everyone is super friendly. Our serve was Dee (spelling I hope is correct!), She was amazing! We ordered a cake, specially made. Me and my friend both planned the Bachelorette Party, the staff and Dee made sure to keep the cake a secret just in case I didn't know! It was wonderful! We originally had a group of 4, but my friend had called a week or so prior and made reservations for a group of 7. They were great! They moved tables around and set everything up last minute. We felt that the food took a while to come out, however everything is made to order! We had so much fun that we hadn't realized 3 hours had gone by! It truly only felt like it was 30 minutes! In our group of 6 girls, we had a male photographer who also was included in our Bride Tribe. He certainly didn't mind being surrounded by a bunch of women today! He was such a great sport! I highly recommend Mad Batter and their wonderful staff! They were so helpful and wished us congratulations and the best of luck. They thanked us for coming and sharing this day with them.

I've been to Main Street Patchogue a few times before and I'm always amazed at how it's now like Huntington, with tons of eateries, bars and places to hear live music. It was a busy late Spring Friday night and my cousin told me if we were there just two weeks later (ie, post Memorial Day), there would have been lines to get in anywhere. So make resos! I made one easily earlier that day and when we arrived around 7:30, it was not packed, but it is pretty loud in there even half full. Our waiter, Jonathan, expertly took such great care of us from start to finish, even taking my father's dad jokes in stride. There's a solid cocktail menu, but I had a couple glasses of a better-than-decent prosecco. My cousin loved his espresso martini. For food, count on a couple respectable vegan entrees and I went with the Japanese eggplant with cashew ricotta. The eggplant is delicious, slightly sweet with a creamy rather than chewy (thank god) texture. The cashew ricotta is also tasty, but I do think it needed to be blended a bit more to remove the slightly grainy texture (the cashews might have needed more soaking). My father loved his French onion soup and pastrami sandwich. Separate paragraph for the fries. They deserve it. I'm glad we ordered these to share- it's an enormous platter of them. I appreciated that they were salted perfectly. I appreciate restaurants that can make satisfy a variety of preferences and dietary restrictions. The vibe here is festive and vibrant and a great choice for groups and families.

Better late than never on using it to get this five star review written up! But seriously, I thought I knew downtown Patchogue pretty well, and yet I never noticed or heard anyone really going to WhiskeyNeat until that gift card was in her possession. When we went for dinner, it was a Wednesday night on the earlier side and at the time, no one was inside this relatively small yet cozy-ish bar/pub place. I thought perhaps things here aren't that great, but by the time we left, the inside was almost full, and my feelings were definitely wrong. This place is great! Now these Wednesday crowds could be due to the half price options they throw out there all day long. ANY drink at WhiskeyNeat is half off on hump day plus there are a handful of small plates that also follow this discounted direction. I'll say things might be a little pricier if you're not coming here in the middle of the week, but it's well worth making the trip to slash at least your drinks (and maybe some grub) in two. Enough about all that because the food, drinks, and service is where this place really shines. I downed two of their bourbon cocktails (Goldrush and Billionaire) both being outstanding in taste and quality (my wife enjoyed a well-made margarita). Food-wise, we sampled some hand cut fries (delicious), short rib croquettes (delectable), a mahi taco (fresh), pulled pork slider (tender), gochujang wings (zingy), and a twice baked potato (creamy). All these items were half price (reminder, they were small plates of grub so don't freak for how much we ate). We also paid full menu price to try a side of hot honey cauliflower which was fantastic as well. Before wrapping up, I do want to give a shout out to the staff or at least our waitress who was friendly, helpful in giving us drink options, and chatted with us a bit about WhiskeyNeat and other good nearby food spots. She guided us through the menu on what to order and even realized she had forgotten to put in one of our small plate orders without us asking. Good service always helps in reaching a full slew of Yelp stars. Overall, it may have taken almost two years to use the gift card to WhiskeyNeat, but I'm glad we finally did because dang was it a superb meal. Our waitress said "You'll be back" once we told her it was our first time and even before we had finished eating everything. I mean hard to disagree with that statement. Perhaps I'd aim to save some mulah and only come on a Wednesday, but with great drinks and grub to be had, it might just be worth coming any time, gift card or not!

I expected more of a high-end dining experience, but it felt somewhat casual, especially where we were seated in the front section next to a window. The restaurant was fairly quiet, so perhaps they were keeping everyone in one section, but for an anniversary dinner I would have preferred the more formal dining area. I made the reservation through OpenTable, indicated that we were celebrating our 40th anniversary, and even sent a separate note to the restaurant. There was a small "Happy Anniversary" place card with our menus, which was nice, but unfortunately there was no other acknowledgment of our special occasion. I was also a little surprised by the menus. They had nice leather covers, but inside were several separate sheets of paper, which seemed unusual for a restaurant positioned as upscale. I ordered the three-course prix fixe special. The website listed it at $55, although I believe the restaurant menu said $57. I had the Korean wings, which were huge and very tasty, although extremely messy, followed by the salmon, which was good. My wife had the rigatoni and said it was very good. Overall, Shands is a beautiful restaurant and the food was good. I just expected a little more from the overall experience, particularly since we were celebrating such a special milestone

I definitely recommend the outdoor area if you've got a nice enough night for it. The drink variety won't blow your pants off, but it's got something for everybody and at prices that won't blow your pants off either. Although I didn't get a chance to try any of the food, from what I saw though it looked like good bar fare, and I in particular was eyeing the pizza. There's no dedicated parking lot, but there is some decent parking along the side streets nearby that shouldn't give you too much issue. This place is a nice change up from the typical scene you see a long main street. It might not be the loud and club like vibe you might be looking for, but for me that's quite alright.
