I have an old truck that needed a new break component. Brakes I don't mess with. I was out for a drive when the issue really came to light. I stopped in here and was met by a great staff. They were busy but friendly, they quoted one price that I think was fair, but when I came into pay it was LESS money! That's never happened to me at a auto repair place in my life. I was impressed! if you need a tow in Bloomington/Richfield, CALL SOMEONE ELSE i've had to call this location twice for a tow. Last winter, i hit some ice and slid off the road while going to a Bible study. ended up breaking a chunk off my rim. it took them 2 hours to get no more than 5 miles away this week, i hit the curb while bringing a friend home to her apartment on Lyndale Ave. i popped a sizable hole in my front right tire. today i was on the phone (while at work in WSP) with B&S and the Bloomington Firestone to try and get my tire fixed before Firestone closed at 6pm. somewhere between 1 and 2pm, i called B&S to tow my car to the Bloomington Firestone (also on Lyndale Ave). the tow truck arrived just after 3pm. around 4:20, i received a call saying they couldn't find the key hideaway under my car. the tow truck dropped off my car at Firestone at 6pm why did it take them another 2 hours to reach my car (again, no more than 5 miles away), and why did it take the driver another hour and a half to drop it off? now, i used to work at a car dealership, and i know that loading/unloading cars to/from a flatbed takes about 15 minutes read more

Had a flat tire on my rental. AAA dispatched these guys to my rescue. Makto had the best attitude towards getting me back on the road. 5degrees outside and it did not phase him dealing with my SUV. Yesterday I took my like-new white Odyssey minivan to their car wash. After the wash I found many black greasy spots, each about a 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch, on my car, mostly on the rear door, and on the front of the car, although there were some on the sides. If I rubbed them with my finger, they smeared into a long gray smear. I could remove them with Windex if I soaked it and rubbed each one for 15-20 seconds. There was a LOT of them and it is very time consuming. I do not recall seeing any of these on my car before the wash. It was road dusty. I think it came off the rolling brushes that press hard on the front and the back as they clean. I called and the receptionist said she was sorry and would have them look into it. I never expected a car wash to actually make my car more dirty and potentially damage the finish! read more

It took these guys 3 days to fix my vehicle. Not only was their Labor rate per hr. not displayed anywhere in the service area, they like to use "scare tactics" into trying to con more money out of people. In regards to my serpentine belt on my car:"It's trashed, but we can put it back on for you if you want." This came from Erik, a Service Manager at their Bloomington location. Went to buy 3 cans of Monster. The sign on the cooler said."3 for $5.50." Nothing displayed about with the use of their rewards card. Save yourself a lot of headache, and stress. Having my car towed through my insurance. They chose to use this location to do the towing. Bobby & Steves said they would be there at 8:20am... It's 8:48am and they just left... New ETA is 9:05am. Mind you the car is not at my house and I've been sitting with it for almost an hour now. This tow was scheduled at 6:30am this morning, they had plenty of warning. I've had previous bad experience with The Bobby & Steves other locations, thus I am not a regular customer. If this wasn't through my insurance I would never have used them. Will never use them again, if my insurance can't provide a different provider in the future, I will pay out of pocket for my next tow. Your time is worthless with Bobby & Steves! The driver just got here it's going to be $95, I was quoted about 50 through my insurance. After speaking with my insurance apparently Bobby and Steve's has higher rates than any other provider in the area. I then called Bobby and Steve's to ask for a discount since they were 55 minutes late and I was basically told they can tow my car for $95 or they're not towing it all no discount. So instead of waiting around for another two hours for a different provider to come pick pick up my car I paid them they're $95 plus tax to tow my car. I will be filing a complaint with an external agency about this location. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE COMPANY!! My car was towed illegally from where I reside. I have a parking permit sticker on my back window where it is required to be. Whoever the driver was who towed my car, did not even look at my car, he or she just decided to tow my car for the fun of it! I went to the Bobby & Steve's in Bloomington where my car was located and sure enough my car was there with the STICKER ON MY CAR!! I waited for over 45 minutes for the General manager to show up all for him to tell me, "I'm sorry that this happed to you, this is totally our fault, the driver must of not seen the sticker, can I release your car to you and offer you a free car wash" How pathetic!! A free freaking car wash, wow really? I wish I didn't have to select a start at all because they get NONE from me! This is not the first time that this has happened, they did my mom the same way! There Customer Service is absolutely TRASH and UNPROFESSIONAL! They seem to be practicing Illegal tows just to get people to pay the $300+ fee it cost to get your car back! Bobby and Steve's performed additional services without my permission or knowledge and then forced me to pay to get my car. They talked down to me, in my opinion lied and made it my fault that they did extra work I did not authorize. Terrible attitudes, terrible customer service. One of their tow truck drivers thought it would be a good idea to cut me off while he was towig a car. We barely avoided a crash and I felt remarkably lucky making it home in one piece. Needless to say, if you are going to drive like an aggressive asshole on the interstate it would be a good idea not doing it with the company logo on the side of your vehicle. Don't do it. Their business practices are based on getting you in the door and they don't follow through. I needed to get my car towed due to a faulty starter and I called my insurance company to arrange it. They sent Bobby and Steve's. I asked that it be hauled up the street to Steve's Tire and Auto as I had experience with them and they had always been honest and timely in their service. I had already contacted them so I knew they couldn't get to it until morning. Nick, the tow truck driver for Bobby and Steve's assured me that they could get to it that night. I trusted his word. I will not make that mistake again and I suggest you learn from my mistake! read more

Got ripped off at the Eden Prairie Bobby &Steve's location. Here's the story...My remote start freaked out on my car back in February 2008, causing my battery to croak, spark plugs to foul & gas to seep in my oil. Couldn't get to work, which sucked because I was still fairly new. In a frantic search I found B&S able to tow my car to their location & fix it. They later called & said I needed new plugs, oil & battery...plus labor. Understandable. It came to $862 & change. OUCH!!! But I really didn't think I had a choice. Took the bait & car was up & running. Fast forward 2 years: my battery dies and I'm in luck because it's still under warranty! I pull my receipt & inspect it more and notice my spark plug charge... Normally plugs range anywhere from $4-6 on the cheap side to $13-15 on the top end side. I was charged $32 each (EACH!!!!!!!!!!) for them. $32 x 6 is roughly $200! I checked at my local O'Reilly and they sell my iridium plugs for $8.50 each. I was also told Nissan Altimas came with iridium plugs. I checked with the dealer & they NEVER CAME WITH IRIDIUMS, only platinum spark plugs! So not only was I lied to, I was taken for $150 more than what I should have paid. I was hoping this was an honest mistake but when I checked with the dealer again today, they said they sell plugs for $13 each, NEVER for $32. Not even for the Nissan GT-R. To make up for this mishap, I was told I could have a free synthetic oil change. WTF is that jive??? I will never go back to this place, never recommend ANY Bobby & Steve's to anyone and will show my receipt as proof to anyone who asks to see it until I feel this has been rectified. And I will continue to hope their bad business practices forces them to shut their doors in shame and buildings crumble like those old white turds in the hot sun! If there was a way to rate these guys with negative stars, I'd rate them at -1000. They'll take advantage of you and then lie to cover how they stuck you in the butt and then give you a tiny bandage to cover the giant festering wound they created! Terrible customer service!!! They had the wrong price on an item and refused to give the item at price on the display. I showed the error to the manager Jamie Lovald how proceeded to move the advertisement rather than acknowledge the error and allow me to buy the item at the advertised price. He completely disrespected me as a customer. I hope the Brent Peterson his boss look into this matter and he is disciplined appropriately. read more

U won't believe this can happen, but I swear everything I am writing here is truth. My car had an emergency situation and the "brake fault" displayed on the dashboard, so I found this place on google map and called them about it. I was told to just come and have my car checked. So I went there and I was told it will them 1 hour at most to diagnose the brake problem, which will cost $109. Safety first, so I gave them the key and told them where I parked my car. And my friend had to call off her job shift at that night. After 1 hour's waiting when my friends and went back to the store - guess what happened?! - The car was still at the exact same spot where I left. Then I was not surprised but still outraged to hear that they "haven't got time to do anything about it". The staff in red uniform there didn't give any further explanation nor apologization. He talked like a boss. That's basically the motivation for me to write this long review. Two weeks ago my battery died, so out of convenience I went to B & S for replacement. When I picked up the truck, they informed me that the ball joints were loose and needed replacement. Along with replacing spark plugs, the repair would come to over $1800. I decided to have another estimate at an independent garage. After a thorough inspection, they found absolutely nothing wrong with my ball joints. Once again, it confirms to me that Bobby & Steves is really Robbers and Thieves. My advice. Stay away from this place unless you just need to buy gas! read more

This place is terrible for any kind of car repair. I will not be doing business with them again. They will try to take you for every last penny of if you give the opportunity. I ran over a tiny nail that was in the center of the tire. I took the nail out myself. They obviously didn't know that, because they called me back and told me that they pulled a nail out and it was in the side of the tire. And because it was in the side they weren't going to be able to repair it. After I challenged them on it they hung up with me and called me back. This time they agreed that I had pulled nail out and it was in the center of the tire. But now the story was that there was "too much damage for a simple repair". And guess what else? They think I need a new tire on the other side as well, and they took the liberty of writing that in the estimate that instead of a simple tire patch job ended up being them replacing two tires. Not happening. The tires are not old and I did not ask them to look at anything other then the tiny "non-reparable" hole. read more

A most terrible experience. I bought a used Toyota Highlander in exchange for a Camry as I am now in a private sector K-9 search and rescue group and need room for a German Shepherd dog. Bought it with fault light on - P0171 (system too lean, bank 1) that explicitly explained the problem and NOT to replace the O2 sensor problem. I brought it in and they told me it WAS the O2 as well as two other sensors ,the O2 the most expensive to replace. I gave them permission to proceed as I didn't know any better. My bad. Came in at 8:30, told it would be ready in 3 hours and never heard back. I called at 4;00 PM and was told that a wrong part had come, the tech had to go home as is son was in an accident (for this I am truly sorry and completely understanding) and that they had no temporary car available for me. I was very upset as I had to report out of service to my commanding outfit. I asked that the service manager call me so I could explain my concerns as there was no contingency plan for loss of a technician during business hours. He also offered me a car to use when no less than ten minutes earlier I was told by a customer service rep that they had NO cars available. Hard to know who to believe anymore, unfortunately at Bobby and Steve's in Bloomington, MN as well. read more

Was about ready to get onto 494 from France avenue when owner steering failed and engine temperature light came on. I could barely turn into blobby and Stevie's and get it parked. Talked to Adam and he looked at it and said it had something to do with the serpentine belt or pulleys or belt tensioner. He said it would be 1/2 hour before they could look at it. We explained we were on our way to dropping our son off at u.of North Dakota which is a 5 hour drive. He got the car in within 10 minutes, they diagnosed it was the belt tensioner and we gave the go ahead. Adam had 2 mechanics work on it and we wee out the door in 1 hour total. That is great service. Thank you Adam, thank you to the mechanics for their quick work, and thank you to Bobby and Stevie's for providing excellent service. We were able to make it up to UND before check-in ended for the day. read more

I came here for an oil change last spring. The staff was very friendly. I really appreciate that at no point was I solicited for a "necessary" change (AKA, extra charge for a filter or clean). They were quick, the station was clean and I felt very good leaving. Oh, and I can also attest the free hot chocolate tasted good! read more

In March 2014, a flat tire resulted in AAA sending someone from Bobby & Steve's to replace it with my spare. Unfortunately, the nice & polite young man failed to tighten the lug nuts properly. Not only did I almost have the tire fly off on the freeway, I was left with a ruined steel wheel & a mechanic's bill. Luckily, AAA reimbursed me for the mechanic's expense but Bobby & Steve's claim no responsibility for the steel wheel replacement--they said excessive rust caused the issue! That is despite almost sheared in half lug nuts & the once round holes for the lug nuts are now oval. It is June 2014 & the battle continues.... read more

I could not be more disappointed in Bobby and Steve's service and follow through after my experience yesterday and today. My wife and I have taken our 2 cars there for every repair, oil change and tire we have needed for the last 7 years. Two months ago we purchased 2 new tires. I hit a pothole on the way home from work yesterday and the right front passenger tire popped. I called B & S to see if the tire was covered by the warranty and was told that it was. Because of this I had the car towed to B & S at a cost of $80. Then this morning they inform me that the tire that popped was NOT one of the new tires, because the tires had been rotated. This car has not been to another garage in 7 years so if the tires were rotated this should have been in the cars file and was not. I mentioned this and they said it must have been an error on their part. When I make a mistake at my job I do EVERYTHING I can to make it right. They did not even come close, they offered to reduce the bill $11. Now I am out $220. If they would have done there job and told me on the phone yesterday that the tire was not covered I would have taken the car to the garage right across the street from where I got my flat tire. I at least would have saved the cost of the tow truck. They preach about keeping customers for life but I guess that life span is only 7 years when it comes to my business. When I think of the thousands of dollars I spent at that garage over the last 7 years it makes me angry. I will never go back to any of their locations and will tell all my friends about the last encounter I had with them. Bobby and Steve's really does stand for B.S. in my book! read more
