I have been going to Discount Tires on Lyndale in Bloomington for about ten years and I've been…read morevery happy with their service and employee knowledge. They will match prices, they know what they are doing when it comes to product sales and install and if there is any issue I have no doubt they would make it right. The other big plus is the location. This location is in between two small malls so you can go get lunch or do some shopping or buy pet food or get a manicure while you have an hour or two waiting for your new tires to be installed. Oh and a final huge positive is that if you buy your tires here, you get lifetime free tire rotation!

I suggest make an appointment when they first open. When buying tires, do your research and buy them ahead of time on their website then make an appointment. Many times I've wanted the same tire but they don't have them in stock or they suggest what they have on hand. Follow up: The link provided is not hyperlinked nor can you copy and paste. I won't be typing out the entire link. Also on that same visit, as I waited an hour for my prearranged appointment, a gentlemen sitting next to me who did not have an appointment was told "to make you happy we will get you through in 30min." This was very bad customer service to those who took the time to make an appointment.

I no longer use Geico but I still trust this shop because of their honesty and transparency. The management here cares about its customers. ------------------------------------------- I had damage to my headlight mount and took my car here as part of an insurance claim. I would have never gotten this repair done because the estimate from Geico (that I provided the shop) was 1147, for something I would have just ducked taped had I not thought I would only be on the hook for my $500 deductible. I send the shop my estimate from Geico, they tell me they'll work with Geico if anything doesn't add up correctly. The part turns out to be on back order and arrives 3 weeks later, I take my car in, a few hours later I pick my car up with a bill for $1930. By this time, Geico had already sent me a check based on their estimate. Geico says the shop over charged me on both parts and labor. The part should have been just over $1000 but the shop charged me $1461, and labor in the area averages $65/hour but this shop charges $145/hour. Geico is refusing to do anything about it and the shop, as of now, is going with "these are our rates, we are a business, blah blah." Shame on me for not doing my homework. I trusted this shop as I had brought my car here many times for regular maintenance but I was clearly gouged and very disappointed with my experience.

We're getting 4 new tires for son's car but We'll be going somewhere else now for our tire needs.

They had available appointments and I went in and told them what the problem was. Turns out it was a nail. I was really stressed about how I was going to pay for this and they got me approved for financing. The guys were nice and explained everything to me and sympathized about being stressed. I'm not quite sure why they only have one star, but I received 5 star service. Thank you Les Schwab

Stopped in and the guy comes right out before I could get out of my truck. That's where the satisfaction ends. I told him I need new break pads and I have 3 hours, and can you do it in that time. He said yes, we will get you new pads, calipers and rotors. I said no sir I don't need all of that, my truck only has 45k miles on it, just need the pads. He said oh I'm not sure if we can do just pads, but I will see if we can and give you a call in 30minutes. That should have made me leave right away. What place that does break service, only do a full break replacement and not just pads? So he took my contact info, and asked me twice for my phone number. I went to the gym for 3 hours and never got a call or email. Decided they must have just replaced the pads without calling to give me a quote; which would have been annoying but not the end of the world bc I needed them anyway. I walk back in 15° weather to the location and they say we've been calling and you never answered. I said I don't have any missed calls, what number do you have? It was the wrong number. I said I gave it to you twice, what about email, what do you have? He just said "your name" so I have no idea if they had my correct email, but they didn't appear to even think of emailing me anyway so who knows. So I just said ok just give me my keys so I can leave. 3 hours I waited and the truck was still on the lift with the tires off, so I had to wait longer for them to put the wheels back on and drop it. He walks in and says here's your keys. No apologies, no remorse. Like it was somehow my fault. So not sure what to say about whether you should take your vehicle here or not for service. No clue what it would have even cost bc they never told me. But would you trust someone who can't take a phone number, or think to at least email to service your vehicle?
