We are slowly removing all the vegetation within five feet of the house-as recommended by CalFire. There is an extensive 20-year-old brick patio and paths in the backyard, but with lengthy beds next to the house. Darren filled in those dirt beds. He matched the pattern perfectly and the color/style/size of the bricks and the color/tint of the concrete between the brickwork as perfectly as you can when working with new bricks next to 20-year-old weathered bricks. The ground level falls off toward one side of the ac systems. Darren made sure the ground level was level around the ac systems and installed a small step to address the drop in grade level--and making that corner a little easier to use. Always kept me in the loop when he had to leave to buy supplies. Cleaned up very nicely afterward. Very competitive pricing. We have more projects for him to do!! Can't wait!!

He's been doing this for nearly 40 years. He installed a brick cap on a concrete block wall. Perfecto! The price was 1/3 (one-third!) of another quote I received from a local brick layer.
