ayce crab, lobster, oysters, scallops, and a bunch more. Where could you go wrong with that. While you do have to pay more for the lobsters it is so worth it. You would think since they're offering lobsters they can't cook them well but they genuinely do. I love the simple spices and seasonings put on the lobsters and man those scallops are fresh. Even the sauce used for the lobster claws were delectable. Always a guaranteed stop for me in NYC

I really liked this place!!! Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and they kindly seated us before our reservation time as we arrived a little early. We quickly got seated; were explained how the menu works and what our options were based on the package we chose as a group. Everything that hit the table was definitely fresh and hot! Some items were a little less seasoned than some but baby the whole fish I sat there and ate to myself it was so good!! Fried shrimp were also pretty tasty and the rice. Looking forward to returning here again!

My boyfriend and I went here for our date night and we were so happy with the quality of both the food and waiters. We got the lobster add-on for $20 extra per person and it was so worth it. We ordered on a slip of paper and the food just kept COMING. Between the two of us, we probably had 10 lobsters. Definitely check it out!

Not everyday you get to feast on unlimited seafood! Pretty happy with the menu variety. Felt like you could try everything at least once and go back to favorites, especially if you're with a big group. Although the workers are really kind, their service was really slow/shaky at the beginning. No one came around to take our order until we approached them, we had to ask for a water pitcher 3 times, our gloves came out after our food and that's only because we asked.

We gave this place another try. They changed their system to allow reservation for less people to be able to put yourself on wait list before your arrive to make the wait a bit shorter. Service was good, food came out quickly and the waiter kept bringing the sheet for more food, so that was good. However, I still had issue of food not coming out and having to reorder. Overall quality of food was equal or better than my previous visit. Like the scallops were fresh and snow crab legs were not salty. Still the spicy blue crab was very tasty. Wish they have this sauce with other crabs, like dungeoness or snow crabs. I'm adding a star to 4. Go to this place hungry to be worth it!!

I would agree that this establishment has gotten way better over the years. It has improved in service but also the vibe in general. The waiters also have some personality which makes things cool. Appreciate how accommodating they were on changing the reservation time. You do have to have all people in your party in order to be seated. The music will have you jamming in your seat. Such great variety. The food is great as well. Seasoned and comes out quickly. It is easier and cheaper with a smaller group. Bigger groups complicate things. I still don't like the fact that everyone has to pay for lobster even if one person orders it smh.

I don't know where to begin with this place. Visiting NY and we were craving seafood and landed upon this place. They have 2 AYCE options, one including unlimited lobster. The unlimited lobster option was $125, and I personally thought that the price was a steal. There was no wait when we got there around 5:30pm, but when we were leaving, there was a wait. So you order your first round and they will bring out enough for the number of people in your party. Example, 3 people in your party, they will bring 3 portions. If you're anything like me, and want to try a little bit of everything, I would HIGHLY suggest that you ask them to bring less than your party size. The portions are generous for most dishes, but regardless, it is unlimited so you can just order more if the first round wasn't enough. I wish I knew this prior being that we struggled to finish some dishes and wanted more of another. The lobsters were medium/smallish in size, but still a good portion. In general, I enjoyed all the dishes. The service was great too. Our server was very nice and once the food starts coming, they don't slow down. We had to start consolidating our dishes as we literally ran out of room at our table. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would go back again.

I've been wanting to try this spot out. My niece has been there she said the food was good. Walked in and was greeted. Had to wait for the rest of my party. The guy was not very engaging. He wanted to seat us upstairs in a area that was dark with no other guests. I asked to go downstairs where others were taken. Our waiter came right away. Walked us through the process and took our drink order. I asked about mocktails and they didn't have. I asked him to give me a virgin margarita. The food came out quick. The lobster, all the shrimp dishes, crab, oysters, edamame, and broccoli were good. The fried rice was ok. You get a lot of food so come hungry. The price that includes the lobster is very fair for what you get. Happy I got to try it. Won't come back but I will try the one in Time Square and see.

I came here for a party of two on a Thursday night at about 730 and we were seated right away. The restaurant was busy but had some seating left We chose to do the all you can eat with lobster and we had a great time Our server was great and attentive, and only when it got busy, was it harder to grab him but at that point we were slowing down and we understood Ordering food was so easy - on a slip of paper- and the food came out so quickly They give you butter, hot sauce, and lemon Bibs are also on the table and it looked like you could request gloves if you wanted The snow crab legs, the lobster with salt and pepper, the scallops, lobster claws were all so good and ones that we ordered again and again The oysters had no flavor and tasted like they've been rinsed multiple times The Sea bass was initially very good but when we went closer towards the center, it was slightly undercooked. They took it away right away and wanted to get us a new one The steak was thinly sliced and served on a hot stone and by the time it got here, it was extremely overcooked The highlight was the Dungeness crab... It was cooked so well and the shell was so easy to crack and get the meat out... it was a little sweet and the flavor was delicious!! We were curious what they did with the hard shell... We would've loved to eat that too! Tip: highly recommend only ordering a few dishes at a time... A table next to us ordered so much at once and the food couldn't even fit on the table... It's all you can eat so take your time, you'll get to it all!

My in-laws are in town and we wanted some seafood. I wasn't sure about this place but the Yelp reviews, including some from my Yelp friends whose opinions I trust, were all pretty good so I took a shot and have to say, everyone really liked it! We had a party of six so we were able to make a reservation (reservations are available for parties of four or more) and we probably had to wait about 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. I will say the arrival experience is a little bleak...there was no one at the front podium when we arrived and aside from us, there were probably another 8-10 people waiting in the small lobby. However, once we got seated, everything went fairly smoothly. We sat at a big table that had a "chum bucket" at one end for all your shrimp tails and lobster shells, and we got bibs. The waiter was nice and took our drink orders and gave us the menu where we checked off what we wanted. He explained that it's served family style so whatever you check off, they bring enough for the table and there's a two hour limit. We went for the upgraded lobster menu, which just means you can order lobster in addition to everything else. We made several choices and the food started coming out right away. We had shrimp a variety of ways, scallops, crab legs, blue crab and of course, lobster tail. Everyone agreed that the spicy shrimp, which was in a sweet and spicy sauce, was the best. I could have eaten an entire basket of that myself. The lobster was pretty good, scallops and crab legs were also nice. I didn't really care for the blue crab. They were on the small side and not a lot of meat in them (for reference, I grew up in Maryland so have 40+ years experience eating and picking blue crab and this just wasn't up to Chesapeake Bay standards). Everyone ate their fill and agreed things were good. Most of us had sodas but a couple of people ordered a wine. I would have had a beer but the beer selection is very limited and I'm not interested in Corona or Heineken. We got seated around 6:45 and were out the door by 8:05 so it was a pretty efficient meal but like I said, we were fully satisfied. For six adults @$125 for the food, plus drink and taxes, the bill was just over $850. Add the tip on top of that and it pushes it over $1000. Definitely not cheap but for the amount and quality of food you got, I thought it was a decent value. If I compared it to other seafood restaurants, the food portion would definitely be more expensive for less food.

Came to the Crab House for a birthday. Made a reservation in advance early. Definitely recommend to book one in case because it did have people waiting by the time my party was leaving. It is a big space though. I believe a new sister location has opened up near Times Square as well. We were seated and serviced immediately. Drinks are a la carte and not included. You can choose between a lobster set or just everything else on the menu besides the lobster. The whole table has to choose the same set. We chose the lobster to try. If it is your first time dining, waiter basically explains everything upfront. Some of my stand out favorites were the raw clams, old bay shrimp and seared scallops. Crabs were on the smaller size and lots of work, so I didnt spend a lot of time on them. The raw clams come on ice and we're fresh. I liked them so much is ended up ordering 3 dozen. Shrimp and scallops was perfectly seasoned and hot. Staff is always around to clean up the table. It is pricey but worth it for a special occasion.

The staff and their professionalism was absolutely amazing. The service was incredible and the music was jamming. Most importantly the food was fresh and delicious. 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

I'm a huge fan of seafood and especially lobster, and I finally found my go-to spot in New York where I could just enjoy a wide variety and amount of seafood! Their AYCE lobster option is so worth the price because you can order as much lobster in addition to all the crab, oysters, and all their other selections. Not only seafood, but they also have non-seafood items available too if you're content with all the seafood and want a mini break. They also have a large drink menu from lemonade, soda, to cocktails and alcohol. Service was also super friendly with people asking us for additional orders and attentive support clearing plates and full buckets of shells! Loved that the seating felt private enough and comfortable, also noticed birthday celebrations happening around us

Crab House NYC Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Crab House NYC

    How much prices for Saturday?

Last time we paid $125 per person all you can eat including with lobster.

    Is this place ghetto?

In my opinion No. I went with my coworkers and we had a lovely time. Someone was celebrating their Birthday and the restaurant made sure to make the guest of the hour feel special.

If you're a party of one I suppose it's best to walk in immediate upon opening and during a Wednesday ? Is that true?

Any day upon opening is probably your best bet to not to wait too long.

There was a video on social media that said you can take leftovers home, is that true?

If you have leftovers depending on how much leftovers you have on the table. If it's a lot left and you want to take it home it's flat rate fee and if it's not a lot they'll let you take it free of charge.

If I wanted to basically order almost everything on the menu can i or is it a limit of items?

You can it’s an extra charge for lobster. Drinks aren’t included it’s an additional fee.

Nice decor in the private room?

    Yes

    How much is per person?

The seafood buffet is $80 but if you get the lobster buffet it's $125 per person but the catch is if you're with a group you all have to get the same choice on the buffet whoever gets the buffet meal.

Can we take our food home if we dont finish?

Yes, they do charge though. I went in June 2023 and took home 2 platters of leftovers and they charge me $30.

Is the restaurant accessible for someone with a physical disability? One member of our party uses a walker, so I want to make sure he can be accommodated before I make a reservation.

    Yes it is

Is their version of a buffet they being to your table as your order or do you go to a true food bar and load your plate?

There is no bar. You order with a waiter and they bring you the food.

If i go with 3 other people, do i, the 4th person eat free for the birthday? i'm confused, the website states 4 people full price , so it has to be the 5th person?

Just asked their front desk, 4 people including the birthday person. So it's 3+1.

So the no mix option is basically if i pay for the lobster option everyone else has to do the same?

Correct, it cannot be a mix. It's either or.

    How much per person?

This is according to their website as of today: Seafood Buffet (not including lobsters)…

Can the restaurant accommodate a gluten-free diet for those with celiac disease?

For 2 people, does each person have to pay $115 for the lobster buffet, or is the meal shareable?

Is this a real question? It's per person... do you expect to bring 10 people and pay $115 total so everyone can share?

Does the birthday free meal mean 4 guests including the birthday person or not including?

If you have a party of 4, and one of them is the birthday person, then you will get a bill for 3 people.

    Are they open Labor Day?

    Yes

If redeeming the free birthday meal, do you need to make a reservation?

No but it needs to be a party of four and your meal is free.

Do they have lobster mac and cheese and is it good?

Yes, it's on the lobster menu. It depends on what you craving ( southern lobster mac) then NO. But it has favored.

Will they allow you to customize any of the dishes? for example...give me half of an order, can i have XYZ but hold the sauce or use a diff sauce/topping, can you steam/grill instead of fry

Yes and no it's basically a buffet where you're sitting down so you can't go making multiple customizations. But, you can say like sauce on the side etc. If you want steam/grilled just order that specific option instead of the fried one?

The happy hour menu is excellent, and the cocktail program is equally creative. On my most recent visit, I tried the Nam Gin Martini--unusual, beautifully balanced, and delicious. If you're dining solo, I recommend sitting at the bar, where the talented bartenders are happy to offer excellent mixology advice. There are several dishes I especially recommend. The Zabb Wings are crispy fried chicken wings tossed in a spicy, tangy dry rub of toasted rice powder, chili, lime, and mint. They're intensely flavorful and highly addictive. The Steamed Whole Fish is another standout: a whole branzino swimming in a vibrant, intensely aromatic broth of fresh chili, lime, mint, garlic, and culantro. The pork belly with chili and garlic is another dish worth ordering if you're looking for something rich, spicy, and deeply savory. Fish Cheeks was founded in 2016 by Thai immigrants--brothers Chef Ohm and Chat Suansilphong, along with Jenn Saesue and Pranwalai Kittirattanawiwat. The restaurant was born from their frustration with the homogenized "one-page" menus that dominated American Thai dining, which often centered on sweeter, standardized dishes such as Pad Thai and Massaman curry. Even the name reflects the restaurant's philosophy. The fish cheek is considered one of the most tender, flavorful, and prized parts of the fish in many Asian culinary traditions. When Fish Cheeks opened at 55 Bond Street, the team famously adopted a strict "no Pad Thai" policy, encouraging diners to explore regional Thai specialties and seafood dishes such as crab curries and whole steamed fish. It was a bold gamble that paid off, earning critical acclaim, including recognition from The New York Times. In 2022, Executive Chef Dustin Everett, formerly of Momofuku Ssam Bar and Pig & Khao, took over the kitchen, introducing seasonal dishes while preserving many of the restaurant's signature favorites. The experience extends beyond the food. Fish Cheeks plays contemporary Thai pop music, giving the restaurant a lively, distinctly modern atmosphere. It feels energetic without losing its connection to Thai culture. One important thing to know: this is not the restaurant for you if you're looking for Pad Thai. Fish Cheeks is about pushing beyond the familiar and discovering the bold, complex flavors of Thai regional cooking. The restaurant is popular, especially during peak dining hours, so reservations are highly recommended. Sitting at the bar for a cocktail and a few dishes or settling in for a full meal with friends, I always find Fish Cheeks to be one of my favorite places in NoHo for adventurous, sophisticated Thai food.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. I've been coming here for years, and the quality of the food continues to keep me coming back. During this visit, I ran into a recurring issue with my lobster. It was carrying a large amount of roe, which I was actually happy about because I enjoy it and didn't want any of it to go to waste. However, the roe deep inside wasn't fully cooked during the initial steaming process. I had to go back and forth with Ash and the kitchen staff several times, but they remained patient, attentive, and committed to making sure everything was cooked properly. Ash, one of the managers, provided excellent customer service throughout the experience. While I was waiting, he kindly offered me a complimentary cup of New England clam chowder, which was absolutely delicious and very much appreciated since I was starving. Before leaving, I also ordered two more 2 lb. steamed lobsters to go. I explained my concern, and the staff made sure they were thoroughly cooked before packaging them. Both were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. I truly appreciate the team's dedication to customer satisfaction and their willingness to make things right. Their excellent service, combined with consistently great seafood, is why I've remained a loyal customer for years. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. Thank you!

Felt like it was lacking seasoning both salt and other flavors. Cashier was friendly and gave great suggestions to the people in front of me. Service felt a bit slow for a bowl of chowder and a Katsu Sandwich. Took nearly half an hour to get my food.
