We arrived late and on this side of town it is mostly fast food. We decided to give the Bob's Cafe a try. Rating in Google maps was 4.1 so it seemed pretty good. My daughter and my wife both had omelettes. Those were not bad. The hash browns had a strange aftertaste. I think maybe old oil. I had the fired seafood platter. One of the fish filets seemed like the meat was a little hard. The shrimp were nit bad. The clams were OK. Fries were bad. Mushy and not crisp. A little cold. Again I had the impression the oil might not have been the freshest. We had two English muffins. One plate browned nice with butter. The second set were burned. The waitress was nice and attentive. Cafe food. Large servings of good food with a large variety on the menu. I had nummy French toast. It was peach French toast and the peaches were obviously from a can. The French toast was perfect so that offset the canned fruit. read more

The food was good and the service was prompt. However they charged $4 per beverage and apparently don't do free refills. When my husband asked if they could refill his drink to his water bottle before leaving they Charged us for 2 more drinks! Good grief. It was just iced tea and lemonade! read more

Service was excellent from the beginning. We arrived around 7pm. (Not late) My fiancé ordered the special pot roast melt with Swiss cheese and the broccoli cheddar soup. And I ordered a chicken wrap with curly fries. I received my meal it was good. My fiancé was confused?! I said what's wrong. Isn't there supposed to be Swiss cheese, I said look on the bread (nope). So we asked our amazing waitress hey this doesn't have cheese on it. Yay they forgot about mine too. (Weird to me) if it's on a special board shouldn't your so called cooks known. She took it back and asked for cheese to be put on the melt. Now it's an open kitchen you can hear everything they say. - there isn't supposed to be cheese on this. It's on the menu special . As a former bartender/manager I hear the Chef Mike open up. This cook put the cheese on top of the roast and slam the microwave shut. After 3 or 4 minutes it comes back out. The bread is so soggy and the cheese is just sitting on top. My fiancé starts tearing the bread apart and it's just wet and gross and the cheese don't even think about it it just came right off like it never was cooked. The waitress came back and said would you like something else. No not from the cooks in the back, looks like they're high and don't care what they cook. She goes well I'll be happy to take it off your bill, yes because we were not going to pay for that. So he eats half of my other wrap. The manager comes over and asked what was wrong with it. Well did you look at it. No I did not see it she then goes I wouldn't order anything off the special menu. Well why would you have a special up there if you're not 100% sure how it would come out. She then proceeds to say well I guess I'll take all of it off the check. She goes to the register and writes something on the check. (While we are still sitting waiting ). We go up to the counter to pay (not even know what the bill is. She goes to the back, and then the waitress comes up and goes I don't know what she is doing. The lady that bakes the cakes went back to get the check. She goes I'm sorry about that. I just stood there dumbfounded. She had to be in the back while she knew 100% they were wrong. Not the waitress fault at all but yall need to get your cooks in check. I really wish I took a picture of this non special menu item. We really wanted to get a big cookie and also a cake. But after all that, we ended up going across the street. Also who mops at 7pm with nasty mop water while people still are coming into the restaurant ?!? Went in for the Prime Rib dinner which was a huge mistake. When my order came out it wasn't cooked right. My dinner was raw in the center and they don't even cook a prime rib roast. They cook it under a heat lamp. I sent it back and again it came back raw in the center. My wife's steak was to be medium and it ended up medium rare. In short there evening cook is anything but a cook. He needs a new career, however our server Candice was hands down the best. I have had better and I've had worse. If I'm stranded I would eat here over other places in town but I would not stop if I was just looking for a place to eat. I had breakfast; My eggs were over cooked per my desired over-easy cook. The hash browns seemed to have some sort of filling like flour or cornstarch? They were inedible. The over-all taste of everything just wasn't the greatest. My server seemed to be annoyed that I was there and couldn't wait for me to leave. Best chicken fried steak breakfast I've had in a long time and I'm from Texas the south I love my chicken fried steaks and the white gravy country gravy is the best with french fries I also have good biscuits. I was staying at the hotel next door and thought I'd give Bob's a try. Twice baked potatoes were good, the peach pie was delicious, the service was prompt and staff was friendly. The ribeye while cooked perfectly wasn't seasoned at all so lacked any flavor. The salad was horribly overdressed...surprised in this day and age the dressing wasn't served in the side. The "loaf" looked and smelled amazing, but it was microwaved to arrive steaming and as it cooked it became a chewy thing which was a bummer. read more

3 1/2 out of 5. Breakfast at Bob's served and monitored by Cheryl. I enjoyed a Ham & Cheese Omelet and freshly grated (makes all the difference) hash brown potatoes. Very good. My wife's pancake, egg, and bacon offering fell short in the pancake arena. Thin and rubbery, it reeked of "food service" quality. The bacon was very good however. Our meal was elevated by the service provided by Cheryl. She exudes that "down home Mom & Pop diner" attitude we just love, ie: God help the young server she catches using their phone. Will be back but will avoid the pancakes. P.S. - If you have not noticed, my new pet peeve is watching a restaurant employee talking on their cell phone when they should be taking care of their customers. A group of 11 stopped into Bob's for breakfast while passing through Moses. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. The restaurant cannot accommodate large parties so we were seated in the lounge. Worked out perfectly for our group. Bob's offers a full bar. The lounge has a TV. Happy Hour is offered daily from 3pm-6pm in the lounge as well. My wife had a couple double screwdrivers for $5 each and I had a couple draft Manny's for $4 each. Four our breakfast we shared the Breakfast Scramble (#12) for $15.50: ham, hashbrowns, green pepper, mushrooms, onion and cheese. Our meal was served lukewarm and was flavorless. Portion was large. Service was friendly and quick. Tabs were accurately split. Tabs are paid at the front counter. Overall, Bob's effectively filled our bellies with ordinary food. read more

Went to Bob's several times over Labor Day weekend while in the area for Dave Matthews Band shows at the nearby Gorge Amphitheater...heard great things from the friends I was with that had been there before so my expectations were high, maybe too high....yes, they have a bar attached so you can order alcohol which is a bonus...the service was sporadic at best and the food was worse than that...I think they dumped an entire bag of salt on my home fries potatoes!! Wow, couldn't even eat them they were so salty!!! For some reason, maybe lack of other establishments? This place was always busy, I can't really think of any other reason as to why.... The daughter is running this place into the ground day by day. The food is absolutely not the same she's trying to cut costs and go with cheaper alternatives. Excellent breakfast, which is served all day. We came in for a late breakfast, our hotel stopped serving at 9 am. I ordered their standard 2 eggs, hash browns, sausage and toast. They offered a "German" sausage, which was closer to a kielbasa. It was very good. The hash browns had fresh grated potatoes, the eggs were done as I ordered them. Very good. My husband ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy. While the cream gravy had breakfast sausage, they also offered the choice of German sausage, which he added. He also said that it was excellent. I suppose I will get my only negative out of the way early; the burger menu did not describe what was on each burger. Only the names were listed, making it difficult to decide on an order. Because I figured I would not be in Moses Lake, WA again anytime soon, I decided to go for it and try the restaurant's signature "Bob's Burger." A really solid choice. Nicely cooked patty, topped with bacon and a few slices of cheese, along with a large side of really tasty fries. I went ahead and tried the chocolate cream pie for dessert, and man was that a good decision. Fantastic slice of pie that was. I learned a couple things passing thru here for lunch yesterday. First, I learned don't eat here on Sunday unless you get there early enough to not have to wait 45 minutes for food... and if you do, get breakfast. The lunch was fair value for the price maybe, but you shouldn't serve a happy meal to an adult. Or maybe pass out Lil Smokies to keep our sugar up till the little baby burgers and 17-odd tots make their way to our table. Honestly, the breakfasts on tables looked awesome, and the people were friendly but that was overshadowed by my lack of tots. How do you offer tater tots so close to where they are grown and not use those to make up for the little niblet hamburger?
