    Eggs and bacon meal
    Toni T.

On a road trip and came here because of the 4 star review and reviewing other restaurants along the way. This is not a 4 star quality place. You order at the counter, tip is asked for when you pay, not after service (unless you decline and pay cash). We were given paper cups and told to help ourselves to the water. Served on paper plates and plastic forks we on the table. No other utensils offered. Bacon was underdone, but everything else was ok. Nothing great, just tasted like something you cook at home. However, huge amount of grease left on plate. I only finished my meal because it wasn't the worst, was edible, and I payed $12 for it. My son said his biscuit and gravy was ok and my dad said his bacon omelet was the worst he's ever had (whole strips of undercooked and uncut bacon). I would not go here again.

    Scalehouse from the outside

This place may not look like much from the outside, (in fact you can't even really tell this is the place from the outside). The food however is exceptional. The chicken fried steak was hand breaded cube steak on top of a creamy sausage gravy with big chunks of sausage. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns had a great crispness on the outside and firm in the middle. The pancakes where buttery and light. The service was pleasant and quick and the price was very reasonable. All in all I will stop here again if I'm on the 90.

Let me start by saying that the Caesar was probably the best Caesar I have ever had. I live a few hours away and think about that salad often. My wife loved the sandwich and soup, as well. Sadly we were too full to eat any dessert but they have a rotating dessert list and while we were there the strawberry cake looked insanely good. So good that every single table around us ended up getting at least one slice. I was jealous... What makes this place extra special (aside from the incredible food), are all the little touches that they add to their plates. Little heart-shaped ice cubes with blueberries, heart-shaped butter, and a full leaf of lettuce below the salad. I know it might not sound like much but it really shows the attention to detail. And, to top it off, the staff were simply amazing. They were attentive, friendly and really nice to chat with. This will be a main stop anytime we are in town.

While every dish is an eating experience, the Early Bird has monthly specials that are as unique as they are wonderful. The only problem: they only exist for that month (although manager Erica tells me they occasionally have made a monthly special a permanent fixture). Come early or late on weekends -- The Early Bird is often difficult to snag a table, especially on Sunday mornings and in the winter when they don't use their outdoor dining area. Also: their adjacent sister eatery, the Night Owl, is a similarly high-quality Korean restaurant.

Unfortunately for me, many other concert goers had the same Sunday morning plan. While The Early Bird is delicious, it's by no means speedy. We originally received a 45-minute wait for takeout, but ended up waiting closer to 75-minutes. My order consisted of the Eggs Benedict bowl with the veggie medley, monkey bread, and a hazelnut iced latte. The perfect cure after a night of debauchery. You can tell they're doing their best to manage crowd control, especially the morning after a popular concert. Something to note is that you must have a table secured before ordering food. They don't let you order and wait to be seated to help lessen the crowding. Pro tip: the city park behind this building is much better spot to wait for your food. There's seating and even private bathrooms - a god-send after a night of camping at the Gorge.

The pizza was outstanding--perfectly blistered crust, generous toppings, and an incredible balance of flavors. The combination of savory toppings, house smoked pulled pork, bourbon BBQ sauce, pickled red onion and fresh pineapple created a unique sweet-and-tangy bite that worked surprisingly well. Every slice was loaded and cooked to perfection. The whiskey selection was equally impressive and the wine is always lovely. Whether you're a casual whiskey drinker or a true enthusiast, the bar offers plenty of options to explore. Pairing a great pour with exceptional food while enjoying a wonder view always makes for an unforgettable meal! We finished with dessert, and it absolutely delivered. The Strawberry Rhubarb Cobbler was to die for and the vanilla gelato was the perfect complement. Beyond the food and drinks, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and relaxed, with great service and beautiful views.
