We were enticed by the ad on Facebook for their Saturday night special of Prime Rib, crab legs, potato, vegetable and rolls for $40.00 per person. Much to our disappointment the prime rib was flavorless and overdone, the baked potato cold and a sad display of 2 small crab leg clusters that were tough to crack and may have contained 4oz of meat. The plate presented to us looked nothing like they advertise! The service was confusing as a different server came with menus, drinks, salads, dinner and tab, 6 persons! When asked how our meal was when tab was brought we expressed our disappointment and asked to speak with the manager on duty. After waiting 20 minutes for the MOD we finally paid the bill and left, never to return. Had the restaurant been busy it would have possibly been understandable for a less than perfect meal, however; only 5 tables were full. I expressed my disappointment on their Facebook page only to never receive a reply and they removed the post from the comments. read more

Randomly found this spot while driving through town on a Saturday night. From the outside it looks like a little 50's Diner but inside it was much bigger. We sat in the bar area it was up north divey in the best way. We ordered a cod and a chicken finger basket. The cod was lighted coated and tasty with tartar sauce. I subbed steak fries for their thin fries.. having tried both at our table, get the thin fries. Plenty of drink options, mixed drinks were stiff. After a long day exploring outside we needed coffee and opted for their Spanish style "awesome coffee". All in all great little spot, no frills, prices fine, more than meets the eyes for sure! read more

Never order scrambled eggs here! I actually asked if they were eggs at all. It was a small mound of this very mushy, flavorless something that had an awful mouthful. I could not eat them. You can feel comfortable ordering from a delightful range of meal options Nice dining room layout with rapid turnover of tables without feeling rushed has greatly improved. This little cozy place is very cute good for families or date nite or if ya wanna quick bite to eat and a cocktail or a beer ..the food is amazing I love the honey chicken and massed potatoes with chives and gravy the cod fish is amazing as well I highly recommend trying bobs place for all it has to offer very clean and cozy and has two sections bar area and a restaurant area .the service is good too.....if your in town I highly recommended this place it's def a gem and the food is sooo awesome read more

LOVE BOBS PLACE! Long time Alanson staple. The staff has always been very friendly and welcoming. We always walk away stuffed! The food is amazing. The prime rib was excellent as well as the nachos (huge) firesticks (delicious) and the wings are always a hit with my family. My arm was twisted to get the homemade carrot cake which was great! We've been there when they have music, and also have Trivia and Singo. Always a lot of fun! read more

UPDATE: Changed from a 5-star to 1-star review. Not sure what changed here, but it changed fast. Maybe the season started getting busy and they just couldn't keep up. I called to place a take-out order dinner order early in the evening and have never been treated so rudely while ordering food - even in the drive-thru. We were looking for a place to eat. So we stop by and ordered takeout. I ordered the chicken fried steak. My husband & son ordered the hamburgers. I have had chicken fried steak back home. The country music piped in is awful awful awful! Really annoying bad country music. Service was friendly and prompt. Only place to eat in Alanson, so maybe some compitition might wake em up. Got seated with my fiancé and two children. Waited 20 minutes (watching two tables get seated and place orders) and didn't even get asked what we wanted to drink. I wouldn't call this a *new* American food restaurant/bar like it shows on Yelp . It doesn't have the more-gourmet type foods that I would describe for a new American . That being said... this was exactly what we were looking for this evening for dinner. A very clean, burger/ bar place that also has a nice variety of home style ( spaghetti , lasagna, baked fish, prime rib, soups, etc). meals . We had terrific service by "Tammy". Hubby liked the prime rib and baked potato. But, said it could of been hotter and the potato cooked a minute longer. I had their lasagna and mixed veggies . It could have been hotter, also .
