For years Bobs Subs downtown was one of my go-to spots for a quick and easy lunch. Their menu is simple, the ingredients are generally fresh, and it's just an easy overall ordering experience. That said, I haven't worked downtown in years, and since that time have found myself craving the simple sub. Bobs in Gibsonia, while not quite as convenient to my downtown office days, is close enough and I have found myself here. This location is really cute with an old school vibe. But also clean and quick. IMHO this is as good a sub place as you will find in the Burgh for something fresh and filling (read - I'm excluding greasy options like Peppis). read more

This place was exactly what we were looking for. Fresh made subs. Not only did they have cold cut subs, they were super accommodating for my picky 8 year old and made a salami/cheese sub. I've been driving past this place for some time and after reading some reviews decided to stop by for lunch. I came in Saturday at 12:30 and ordered a Buffalo chicken sub (9 inch). It comes with lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing, mayo, and provolone cheese. I replaced the provolone with Swiss cheese and was handed the 9 of hearts (my number to call). Within 5 minutes my sub was ready. My order with a drink came to $8.61 which I thought was very reasonable. The chicken was actually shredded chicken and a bit messy with the dressing and buffalo sauce, but the sub was toasted to perfection and was mouthwatering. One of the best subs I've had in a really long time. Better and bigger than subway and jimmy johns. The only downside is the inside seating area is very small. They only have 4 tables, 2 booths, and a high top section that seats 3 people. It was pretty crowded in here. There is no blinds or shade so the sun just beats in while you are eating. Also the bathroom was small and outdated. Could use some work to make that a little more clean and presentable. All in all like I said one of the better subs I've had and fast service that can get you a nice meal filling you up for well under $10. I would recommend this sub shop. read more

We ordered lunch from Bobs Sub in Allison Park... omg, the owner is EXTREMELY unprofessional . The bun is doughy and the steak (What little their is) was pulverized... couldn't make to order, when I called, the owner REFUSED to give a refund, He said "I made it in a timely manner" and started getting really loud with me... so, me being me.. started getting loud back. I said "You did not make it to order", stated as to why as well as" the bun when I bit into was it, it was like chewing on a dough ball" REFUSED to give a refund because he made it in a timely manner.... He kept hollering "DON'T THREATEN ME WITH TAKING PICTURES!" SEROOUSLY!?!... Since he refused to take them back or refund us, I ASKED if he wanted me to bring pictures of the hoagie up...he kept yelling "DON'T YOU THREATEN ME". Before I hung up on him, he continued to yell and told me to bring it back for the refund... How about, NO!! BAD BUSINESS. I don't usually write reviews often unless a place is extraordinarily wonderful or, as it appears it is for this place, horrible. Don't get me wrong, the place is adequate in terms of decor and (at least from what I can tell), cleanliness. The food isn't half-bad, wouldn't really venture out to call it half-good though. Even so, the staff is another story. The kids that work there are always incredibly polite and eager to please, but there have been a few times when I have had issues such as malfunctioning of the credit card machine, over the phone ordering, and a few other things. These issues were clearly out of the jurisdiction/knowledge of the young workers (makes sense), yet never once have I seen anyone over the age of about 21 there. I'm not sure if there's even a boss that these kids have that is properly running the business, considering its usually kids there I'd guess ranging from 15-18 years old. The management there seems really inconsistent and like there is a HUGE lack of dedication and effort from the manager/owner. I've heard this from a few other people in town in regard to this Bob's sub, specifically the lack management and authority present. This is not the case for the other locations (the food is much better at the other locations, though), it really just seems to be this one. Sounds like it's some undedicated kid running the place! Again, food wise it's not bad, I'm just a big believer in knowing who you are supporting behind the scenes. read more

This location is in the same building as Donut Connection and their donuts are great also!The food here is reasonably priced and really fills you up.
