What a great place! I purchased tickets for last nights show with Matisyahu to sit in the front isle row and I was not disappointed! What an amazing experience... but that I've always had! We went to our first show here and saw Craig Shoemaker. First of all, that dude is hilarious! Great show. The venue is really cool. Second of all, the owners were the folks that greeted us and walked us to our seats. Nice touch. The set up was really cool because you weren't stuck at some long table trying to look around someone to see the show. They have stadium type seating and the place isn't so big that you don't have to worry that you will have a bad seat as there isn't one. It really puts the spotlight on the performer. The staff was efficient and friendly. We were able to get our drinks from the bar in a timely fashion and the drink prices were very good. We loved the craft beer selection. Another aspect that we LOVED was they provided a phone number so that we could text our drink order in to the bar and the waitress would bring our drinks right to our seats. I loved that I didn't have to get up and miss any of the show and even better that it kept most everyone in their seats so their wasn't disruption of the show. Kudos on that idea! And, there is no food being served so that keeps down the distraction as well. We had dinner at the Armadillo Café before the show. Fabulous food btw. It was easy to get to, had ample parking, clean and I loved how the interior is done. Very cool. They also have more than comedy shows, like bands and theater performances and can be booked for private events. I know we will be returning for sure. Check it out! read more

I bought 13 tickets at the box office to the Neil Diamond tribute which was actually very good. HOWEVER, even though I bought the tickets at the box office I was charged the online fee. When I came back a few minutes later and disputed the charge, the person in the ticket office apparently zeroed it out on her system, and charged me again for the tickets, this time without the online charge. When I called back a few days later to inform management that I hadn't received the refund for the original tickets (that included the online charge) I was first informed that you need to ASK to waive the online fee which is totally UNETHICAL when buying on site. I was told to be patient and wait a few days for the refund, which I did. When I called back again 3 days later I was told that someone would be looking into it and would be calling back within a few days. I finally spoke to the owner (over 2 weeks after the purchase of the tickets) who was extremely rude and did not help at all. I never heard back from anyone after that despite the initial reassurance some someone would. I disputed the original charge with AMEX, who confirmed that if the theater had indeed issued a refund that it would have shown up on their system within a few days, so in essence Boca Black Box management LIED. Neither I, nor my friends, will be attending any shows here in the future where there is total disregard for customer satisfaction. read more

The minute you walk into the theatre it feels like Vegas mingled with Broadway mingled with some exclusive nightclub on a popular island. It feels special and glittery and cozy at the same time. I have never seen a show I didn't love there. The owner Randy Singer embraces creativity and talents, and deserves all accolades for forging ahead in this pandemic. We saw Jessica Kirson here and she was amazing. We laughed for over an hour straight and she was hilarious. The place was a lot bigger than it looks and fit a good 200 people. They have a decent wine & beer list and they also serve other alcoholic drinks. We got 2 pina colda type drinks and they were pretty tasty. The sound was great, the lighting was fantastic, and we had a fantastic time. We will be back for sure! read more

This was the second time I went to the boca black box. The first time was a normal enjoyable experience with an ok comedian. This last time I went I paid for my ticket in advance just like the first time but when I went to get my 4 tickets they said I needed to pay an additional $15 per person? I was shocked? they said that will be $60 more you need to pay and they handed me a voucher that I could use towards drinks or merchandise... WHO DOES THAT? When I purchased the online tickets it did not say anything about that I told the ticket lady that at the boca box and she rudely said "well if you want to see the show you need to pay the extra $60 its our new policy"... I will not be returning. A shame because I live very close to this place and have taken friends and family in the past. read more

I think this was my 3rd or 4th time going. It's gets better and better each time. The show last night was awesome. Didn't know there would be opening acts for Vic but they were great. I didn't stop laughing. The drink service was awesome as was the drinks. Loved the owners jokes and especially loved the how soft the toilet paper was in the ladies room. Keep up the good work. Really enjoyed The comedian Helen Hong last night. This venue reminds me of some small comedy clubs in New York once you're inside. Very moderately priced. They serve alcoholic beverages and snacks which you can order by texting to have delivered to your seat. I wish there were more tables (only a few on the side), but other than that I didn't find much wrong with this place. Seems like they have some pretty big names in comedy every so often, but I might try some less known names considering we had some good laughs last night. Recommended for sure read more

Went to see Tommy last night at Boca Black Box. This is a review of the club, so I will not get into the details of the play, but will say; though on the amateur side, I had fun! In regards to the club..... what a great venue. Not a bad seat in the house except for the VIP tables. Stay away from those! Wooden bar chairs, with half of them having your back to the stage. And in the worst location. Overall the club is fantastic. Great vibes. The owner, extremely nice and funny. Must be a great place to see comedy. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. But!!! Of course there is a but! The microphones that the actors use are terrible. When using a hand mic, no problem with the sound. The mics the actors have attached to them, stink!! I noticed that each actor had a different mic. Come on, get a decent mic system. For the first set, half of them didn't even work. For the second set, they were better, but very poor quality. Having crappy mics, ruined the show. Not fair for the audience and not fair to the actors!!! I will go back to see a comedian, but definitely not a show where hands free mics are used. Which is a shame. Especially in a nice venue as this. Obviously, mics and sound is a major part of the show expo. So 2 stars for the staff and venue. But the overall experience was diminished due to poor quality mics. Let me know when you get new mics, I will then come more often. read more

Nice place but they need to do some sound proofing if they are going to hosts bands. Echoes. Also if you are going to charge $8 for a Jack and coke, at least serve Jack Daniels not done house brand that doesn't even remotely tastes like Jack! I had ordered tickets for The Addams family through Goldstar over two months ago. The tickets were for this Sunday. Yesterday I received an email from Goldstar telling me that there would be an additional $15 charge per person at the door. This could be used for cocktails, snacks or merchandise. I have no interest in cocktails or merchandise,and we will have just had dinner prior to the show. Considering the fact they also gouge $4.75 a ticket for service charges, this is absurd! I will not be ordering any more tickets for this venue. read more

Great place to catch a show! Recently saw a Led Zeppelin cover band here. They rocked!!! The venue had plenty of parking. Bar right next to the seats, they even had a option for patrons to text their drink order and waitress would bring to your seat. You don't have to move a muscle to get a buzz on. I enjoyed the show and the venue was perfect for it! Even better. They allow re entry! Located just east of the turnpike on Glades road, in Burger King plaza. See you there!! Rock on!! read more

The sound system for the Addams Family was questionable; numerous times an actor would start speaking and the sound wouldn't pick up until the end of the first line or beginning of his/her second line. Several times I lost focus of the show and tried to figure out where the actors could stand so they could be heard the best. Also, if you buy tickets from Goldstar for the Boca Black Box, read the fine print as there may be an additional $15 minimum which you must pay (above and beyond the Goldstar ticketed price) before they'll give you the tickets for your show. read more

just a quick warning so you don't make the same mistake i made and pay extra for VIP tickets at Table #5! the seats at this VIP table are located ON the only path into the restroom. i posted the seating chart. In just 5 minutes of the video footage i took, there were 18 people walk by. could you imagine how many people that is for a 90 minute show? Beware, they are NOT VIP seats, instead they are OBSTRUCTED VIEW. i spoke to the owner who said i was the first to ever complain and he does not refund money. the place was not worth it. go to the IMPROV instead. I'm updating my review of the Boca Black Box after seeing several shows it was time I revised my initial review. First, don't purchase tickets for any Black Box show from the Internet, because you cannot get a refund if something conflicts with the time slot. I asked for help getting the tickets refunded and was flatly told no way, no refund. I also asked if I could get a credit for another show and was told no! They did print the tickets after they realized I didn't have a portable printer in my pocket and told me to go outside to sell my tickets. So, I sat outside like a scalper for 30 minutes trying to sell two tickets. All it would have taken was the manager to approve a refund, and sell my tickets to the next customer, which in my case was literally the lady behind me. This upset me because my wife and I were regulars up to this point, but it didn't seem to matter to the manager. I did learn a good lesson from all this: stop supporting organizations that are hostile to me. The Boca Black Box, provides "has-been" and 3rd tier entertainment for the benefit of those over 70 and want to reminisce about entertainers who died 30 years ago. The manager promotes his calendar like it's straight from Vegas. It's not, the entertainment, is poor and in the upcoming scheduling of Andrew Dice Clay, tasteless and vulgar. In addition to poor entertainment, the Black Box has poor lighting and sound. We couldn't hear a word the other night because of poor sound and the technician kept fooling with the speakers during the act. One entertainer could hardly focus on his act due to lights blinking and shifting from group to group, we got lost in the act for all the fooling around with the lights. Also, sit near one of two exits, if you don't then you can count on being a statistic because a full house of seniors will likely result in massive deaths in case of emergency evacuation. The drinks are horrible, too much ice and watery, no substance. Order something in a can and request the can and a glass of ice, you'll get a better value. VIP seating has no added value for the extra cost. The view to the stage is from the side with poor sound and if you're on the wrong side of the theater you'll have people walking in front of you throughout the show to go to the bathroom. The bar stools are elevated and hard to get into and don't swivel, once you manage to get seated you're sitting on a wood slab for the next two hours. There are no free drinks or perks to make VIP seating a special place to sit. Avoid this even if it means skipping a performance, you'll thank yourself later. We won't miss going back to the Black Box, it would take someone extremely special for us to return. read more

This is a terrific local club that offers a variety of excellent entertainment. We've been there for comedy and music. I am on their email list and keep an eye out for things we would like to see. Seats are comfortable and prices reasonable. The recent addition of brand names to the bar are a real plus for me. Parking is easy and convenient. read more

I purchased four tickets to the Bob Nelson comedy show on Groupon. I wanted two additional tickets so I called the club directly. A gentleman who claimed to be the owner told me that Groupon customers would need to wait for everyone else to be seated and would not likely sit together. He told me I needed to purchase 6 tickets from him if we wanted to sit together. I did. Upon arrival I noticed only one line and all customers being seated as they arrived. The theatre was half empty. Despite speaking with him just a day before the show he claimed a risk of not sitting together with my group when only about a third of the seats for the show were taken. I never used the Groupon seats and will not return to the club. I hope he can make the small amount he took me for last a long time. read more

Great venue, Randy is very accommodating to all the customers to make sure everyone has a great experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, they took care of my husband's wheelchair and made sure we were seated in an easily accessible spot. Restrooms are spotless, which is not always the case with venues like this one, so I was pleasantly surprised. Will definitely be coming back to watch some more comedians after Erik Myers! bought tickets through goldstar . thought i was going to get a better deal. well i was wrong .first the block box forces you to buy drink tickets $30 for 2 people. I bought 4 tickets from goldstar. the other couple i was going with 1 of them ended up in hospital. i did not expect a refund but since i already paid for the tickets i wanted them to give them to me they said no .If i wanted them I had to buy another $30 worth of drink tickets. So the tickets that i bought i could not even pass them onto someone else. turns out there was someone in the other 2 seats when show started guess they sold tickets twice read more

Love this venue! Last night saw Vic DiBitetto (can't wait until he comes back)--laughed for an hour straight!! Phenomenal show, start to finish--and he even came outside after the show to meet with his audience. Randy...you can tell your jokes over and over again...I don't care what anyone else says!:-) The venue is intimate...not a bad seat in the house, and offers many good shows a year. We stumbled here on a whim and what a great experience it turned out to be. There was a man singing all sorts of songs and he would crack some clever jokes in between. This intimate theater is absolutely fantastic! The sound was crisp, clear and loud. Plenty of parking and the service was spot on and they pay attention to detail. I headline Comedy venues all over the country and Boca black box is on my list of top 5! I was treated amazingly and the audiences were awesome! I highly recommend going to shows there. First time we have been here since it had become BLACK BOX. I like the set up a lot better with the chairs. Also seems a lot cleaner than when it was whatever it was before. Saw the glamourours girls of comedy. Enjoyed the show. Unfortunately there's no list of names and I can't remember who was who but some were great and others were okay.
