    Modelo Michelada
    Reyna M.

I am always weary of restaurants in my hood with mirrors on the wall. You know which ones I am talking about. However, this place exceeded my expectations despite the mirrors aligned across the wall. We ordered an order of aguachiles, 2 gobernador tacos, and a kid's cheeseburger order with a Modelo Michelada and a draft craft beer. The michelada was so good. The tamarindo-chamoy stick brought it to another level. The draft beer was from a local brewing company and I didn't like it but hey, you can't like them all. Now, the tacos. They were exceptionally good. I added some of the table salsa with roasted chiles each bite of the taco was an explosion of flavor. As for the aguachiles, the serving size was bigger than I am used to at other establishments. Music was good. Service was excellent. Place is clean including the restrooms. We'll be back. But I'll choose another beer to pair with my food. Maybe a Mango Cart.

I can honestly say that I have found the perfect carne asada burrito. The staff was very friendly. The place was very clean, and the prices were reasonable. I can't wait to go back.

Try the mariscos, shrimp dish, tacos de papa and and fish tacos. Ask for the spicy pink sauce, it is incredible!

The girl asked me if I wanted it regular or strong which I thought was odd. When she brought it I told her was too sweet, she asked if I wanted more tequila. I asked what kind of tequila they used, she said it was agave. I asked for more. I asked for a Paloma instead and she looked confused. She brought it but it was very weak. As I sat outside some drunk off the street came with a beer in hand and sat across from me, I ignored him. He was effed up. Eventually he got up and left. As I was sitting enjoying the beautiful breeze and weather a strong scent of fabulosa swept across the patio and the girl was mopping the inside and it was overwhelming! I paid with Zelle and took off!!! I DI NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

We then waited ONE HOUR for the brunch buffet to be served. Imagine our disappointment when the buffet was just a salad bar, two types of flautas, and rice. I even had to place the spoons and tongs into the containers. No one acknowledged that they served a full hour late, and we weren't offered anything for free or discounted. I give two stars for them supporting drag queens. I tipped the Queen but would have preferred my buffet fees go to her.

This place is great. It's got parking and the food is good. I highly recommend, and it's brand new. It's only been up in six months.

Okay fine to that. My partner and I were looking for a menu. I asked "do you have a specialty cocktails menu or a regular menu somewhere?" and she said a short no and said any regular bar drink will do. After she goes back on her phone to scroll, I turn my head and see a menu with some basic cocktails and their variations (which is what I initially asked about). Once my partner was ready to order palomas for us, we try getting her attention and kinda stared and waved hands, but she continued to scroll on her phone. It took her coworker to talk to her. THEN, she makes our palomas and stops to tell us her soda gun isn't working, so she couldn't top it off with soda. Fine cool, assuming she'll give us a small discount, but she charges us $24 for two palomas. So really we just paid for lemon tequila drinks that should've just been $16 for both. Palomas don't cost that much either. Should be just like $10, unless the Paloma is presentable then yeah $12 is fine. So, she ripped us off, didn't offer any accommodation for it, and was pretty distant and careless with her job. Anyway, don't come here if you care about customer service. Kinda strange here because this looks like a hot spot and charming, but they got the wrong people working here honestly. Something's up with management or a lack of boosting morale.

Never coming here again…read more I went last night to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in years and stepped outside for a moment to get some air because it was getting stuffy inside. The girl security was chill, the heftier guy must've not liked me or something because he was not trying to join the small talk I was making with the other security. I tell her I need to go inside and get my friend because we were leaving and the male security tells me there's "No Ins and Outs". I was literally going to go inside and get my friend and go. He doesn't let me. So then I spam my friend to let her know they're not letting me back inside. When she comes out I tell her my shoes are hurting and I take my heels off because we had to walk. He then accuses me of being messy drunk for being taking my heels off. Learn to read the room sir. We step away from the front and literally walk a few businesses over AWAY from the bar. This is how I know the security was looking for a problem. I tell my friend we don't have to worry about anyone messing with us on our walk because I have a tazer. I show it to her and press the button to let her know it works. The security guard leaves his post and walks towards us and tells me "now you have to leave because you're doing that" I was already leaving and he had no reason to walk towards me on the side walk he should have stayed at the front door. I wasn't even talking to him anymore. We were literally 2-3 businesses away. So I turned the tazer on and told him to leave, he approached us. There was no reason for him to walk up to us we already left. This man was looking for trouble. He needs to be fired. I was scared I was gonna have to use it if he got physical. Management should really look into that security guard because it makes me wonder how many patrons he actually messes with when he's on a machismo power trip. I am never coming back to this establishment again. You guys don't even deserve a star. How dare you allow your security to harass someone trying to leave. This man does not know how to diffuse situations properly. He needs to be fired. And then witnessing him trying to rewrite reality was truly disgusting. I'm so genuinely curious if he has history of getting physical with patrons. If he does, I'm certain he's not as innocent as he performs.

First off, the space is so cute and perfect, which made the event feel even more special. Second, all the staff was amazing , attentive, kind, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire evening. Unfortunately I had to leave after the first 10 minutes due to feeling uncomfortable, disrespected, and insulted by a female working at the bar. The female bar tender who was outside with the black hair and pig tails should NOT WORK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. She was extremely rude & condescending. I would understand if it was the end of the day and the staff was tired but it was an hour into the event, it wasn't packed yet, so there was no line at the bar. I walked up to the empty bar to get a drink and ask a question about where to order food & she snapped at me accusing me of cutting in line and told me, " to get inline behind everyone else trying to get a drink" I turn around confused bc everyone behind me is clearly turned away from the bar watching the soccer game. Thinking it was my mistake I APOLOGIZE to her & turn around to look for a line again but like I said the bar was CLEARLY not busy so I POLITELY asked her where does the line start and she proceeds to SCREAM @ me and speak to me like I'm a child & points to all the people behind me who are standing and looking AWAY from the bar. Stating "ALLLL those people behind you are waiting inline for a drink." I'm 27 this is not my 1st time at a bar. I know I walked up to an empty bar & she gaslit me into looking for a line THREE TIMES during that one interaction. I'm over feeling gas lit and leave the bar w/o a drink. Once I walked away from the bar I thought I might see "one of the many people who I cut inline" go up to the bar and get a drink but no one else went up to the bar after I left. She was so rude. I got uncomfortable & decided to leave and take my money and party of 8 people to another bar next door. I use to work in customer service so i understand it can be a pain in the ass but when I'm coming at you respectfully as a customer and your demeanor continues to be hostile throughout the entire interaction there's a problem. As an establishment owner I would hate to have someone like that working for me. This can't be the fist time this terrible employee treats customers like this. I can only imagine how much money this bitter employee is costing this establishment.

This place is always recommended to me on Yelp anytime I try to find places to eat in Little Tokyo…read moreand technically it's in the Arts District, but it's within walking distance. I've had my brother and several friends say that it's good and since we were closer to this area for a pop up event, we dropped by and I finally had a chance to try it. We visited during the final game of the World Cup, so there was no more indoor dining, but there's a couple bench tables outside at the side of the building. Part of the building shades over the seating, so even on a pretty hot day, this worked in a pinch and there was a slight breeze too, thank goodness. Staff was helpful and and answered our questions. They also brought our order out to the tables outside, which was nice. They also took our trash and tray back when we were done too. Each table has ketchup, brown and spicy mustard if need be. Inside, you order and pay at the cashier, grab a number, and they bring it to you. There's a bunch of sausage links on display, as well as the sodas and you can see some of the beer that they have too. For our Sunday lunch, we got the: 1) Sunset Zero soda: -It's an imported German soda. Love that there's a zero sugar version. It's a citrus cola with ending vanilla notes. Way better than some of the orange Pepsi/Pepsi Fire they ran in the past. Nice to try. 2) Rattlesnake & Rabbit with Jalapeno Peppers: -Unique combination of predator and prey meats all encased into one sausage. Also, not often you can get these meats as well. -Slight spicy kick to it from the jalapenos and rich, buttery texture of the meats together. -Each hot dog comes with 2 toppings and we got caramelized onions and sauerkraut with this which added a nice sour and sweet taste to it too. -I liked this the most of the 2 of them. 3) Pheasant with Herbs de Provence: -Nice savory flavor, but I was a fool and ordered this with the sweet and spicy peppers as a topping since they were different from the other toppings we got and I mostly just tasted the bitter aftertaste of the peppers that sort of overpowered the meats. My mistake if anything since the bites with just meat and mustard were delicious. 4) Groot of Belgian Fries: -Huge serving, way too much for 2 people especially with 2 hot dogs and we sadly could not finish it, but at the very least it came with 2 dipping sauces. -Before ordering this, I didn't groot referred to anything other than a Marvel character. -Fries had a rich, deeper flavor than standard fries, nice slight crispiness. We got it with curry ketchup and sundried tomato mayo. The tomato mayo was fine, definitely a lighter flavor and since the fries tasted so rich on their own, I feel like the curry ketchup was a more flavorful and better match. I love a good hot dog, so being able to try it with more exotic meats, flavors, and sauces makes it definitely worth stopping by.

The space has a dark, industrial vibe, and I loved seeing the sausage display when you walk in. We shared the duck & bacon, mango jalapeño, rattlesnake & rabbit, and the Klein. The duck & bacon was easily our favorite. It was juicy and packed with flavor. The mango jalapeño had a nice balance of sweet and savory but I wish it had more heat. The rattlesnake & rabbit was interesting but could've used a little more salt. I also loved the toasted buns, sauerkraut, and caramelized onions. The fries were fluffy inside but I wish they were a little crispier. I also loved their beer selection and they let us sample a few before ordering. If you go definitely get the Kasteel Tropicale!! It was my favorite beer of the night! The service was great and the cashiers gave us awesome recommendations. Overall, I'd definitely come back. It's a fun spot to grab beers and sausages with friends!
