This place is wonderful looking and just pleasing to the eye, but the service was kinda rotten. The security guards were okay, but were super strict with my sharpie pens. Okay fine to that. My partner and I were looking for a menu. I asked "do you have a specialty cocktails menu or a regular menu somewhere?" and she said a short no and said any regular bar drink will do. After she goes back on her phone to scroll, I turn my head and see a menu with some basic cocktails and their variations (which is what I initially asked about). Once my partner was ready to order palomas for us, we try getting her attention and kinda stared and waved hands, but she continued to scroll on her phone. It took her coworker to talk to her. THEN, she makes our palomas and stops to tell us her soda gun isn't working, so she couldn't top it off with soda. Fine cool, assuming she'll give us a small discount, but she charges us $24 for two palomas. So really we just paid for lemon tequila drinks that should've just been $16 for both. Palomas don't cost that much either. Should be just like $10, unless the Paloma is presentable then yeah $12 is fine. So, she ripped us off, didn't offer any accommodation for it, and was pretty distant and careless with her job. Anyway, don't come here if you care about customer service. Kinda strange here because this looks like a hot spot and charming, but they got the wrong people working here honestly. Something's up with management or a lack of boosting morale. read more

Never coming here again. I went last night to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in years and stepped outside for a moment to get some air because it was getting stuffy inside. The girl security was chill, the heftier guy must've not liked me or something because he was not trying to join the small talk I was making with the other security. I tell her I need to go inside and get my friend because we were leaving and the male security tells me there's "No Ins and Outs". I was literally going to go inside and get my friend and go. He doesn't let me. So then I spam my friend to let her know they're not letting me back inside. When she comes out I tell her my shoes are hurting and I take my heels off because we had to walk. He then accuses me of being messy drunk for being taking my heels off. Learn to read the room sir. We step away from the front and literally walk a few businesses over AWAY from the bar. This is how I know the security was looking for a problem. I tell my friend we don't have to worry about anyone messing with us on our walk because I have a tazer. I show it to her and press the button to let her know it works. The security guard leaves his post and walks towards us and tells me "now you have to leave because you're doing that" I was already leaving and he had no reason to walk towards me on the side walk he should have stayed at the front door. I wasn't even talking to him anymore. We were literally 2-3 businesses away. So I turned the tazer on and told him to leave, he approached us. There was no reason for him to walk up to us we already left. This man was looking for trouble. He needs to be fired. I was scared I was gonna have to use it if he got physical. Management should really look into that security guard because it makes me wonder how many patrons he actually messes with when he's on a machismo power trip. I am never coming back to this establishment again. You guys don't even deserve a star. How dare you allow your security to harass someone trying to leave. This man does not know how to diffuse situations properly. He needs to be fired. And then witnessing him trying to rewrite reality was truly disgusting. I'm so genuinely curious if he has history of getting physical with patrons. If he does, I'm certain he's not as innocent as he performs. read more

This is my go-to bar! The vibes are so chill! Chicano and R&B, you'll hear funk honestly a little bit of everything... It's small so if you don't like crowds go during the week. But the weekend is fun! Be prepared to dance and have some bomb drinks for a good price! read more

It's my first time visiting this bar and the vibe is cool and music is great so far but the reservation situation is a bit weird.. they literally have 4 -5 reserved signs on tables and it's 11pm and limited sitting so I asked the bartender "how long do they hold the tables for the people that reserved the night before" and she said "until they get here" . Like, Who does this?! I think that's not a good business move because you have people who are actually buying drinks that want to sit and enjoy them but have nowhere to sit. I recommend a time limit would be best. Like example be here by 10pm or the reservation cancels. To give the customers who are here early an opportunity to enjoy the vibe and music. Parking is also tough being that it's street parking. Other than what I've pointed out I would've given them 5 stars. read more

Can't go wrong with this Eastside classic spot. They always have a hype vibe, even during the week. It can get pretty packed on weekends, but not impossible to get in. She started helping out 2 other guests standing behind me "because they're regulars" before asking what drink I wanted myself. This place is so cute! I love the colors and decor! It's clean, festive, inviting and fun. I came with a date. That poor guy spent nearly $300 on drinks!!! I felt especially bad bc I love my doubles, and he didn't really drink because he was driving (eek!) I returned the favor by making him a seafood dinner a couple nights later, lol. Cool newish bar in Boyle Heights. A lot bigger than you would think from looking at it from the outside. Inside is long and pretty spacious. They got some cool vinyl booths by the bar and a little dancefloor at the back. The patio is really nice. There's plenty of space as it wraps around the back of the building. This is a great place for groups or a date. I hear it can get pretty popping in the weekends. I came on a Thursday night and the midweek crowd was really chill. They were playing some old school r&b and hip hop so it was right up my alley. Service was great. Very friendly staff. Street parking might be a little hard to come by. You might have to walk a block or two. There's not much food nearby but there was a taco guy set up out front. If you're on the Eastside, give this place a look. read more

Not your average bar. Located on Whittier blvd. Small cozy bar with nostalgic decor that reminds one of their childhood. Clean place with a decent size patio. Live Dj adds a nice touch. It can get crowded at times but the bartenders are quick to acknowledge you. The place doesn't look like much from outside but once inside you appreciate their unique decor. There was a lot of security which was a plus , however , the DJ , man , he would play ten seconds of a song and on the next ,right when you were about to vibe with the song . The last time there was a sho*ting here was before the pandemic - two really good friends of mine and I were there. I'm so upset the stupid bartender was doing cocaine in the restroom and kicking everyone out including myself. I asked her if she was claustrophobic and she said yes I asked her if they were doing coke and she got offended when I clearly seen it in her hand!!!! And I was trying to make a phone call to my kid to check in... and she was hella rude I think it was two bartenders literally walked In went straight to the bathroom and that happens the security said that had no choice but to kick me out!! It'll make sense if you stop by. Dive-bar vibes for sure. The bar is to the left as you walk in and they have booth-like seating to the right, next to the booths and bathrooms is the dance floor (right where the mirrors are) and thennnnn the best part about the bar is the outside area. There's a door at the far end to the left that leads to the little patio area. I thought it was super cute n chill. They have the round yard bulbs that makes every yard look better (lol) but before you notice those, pretty sure you'll notice the art work. security is the WORST i've ever seen here. i was told i can't come in with "flip flops". i asked the security(she was female) why, she replied with "if there's a fight in there and glass falls on your toes etc." i said okay...2 seconds later 3 girls and their boyfriends are barely checked and let in seamlessly; all while... they are wearing OPEN TOED sandals/slides. I told them that those girls ALL have exposed toes; her reply was "haha well they're not those" (points to my shoe) So it wasn't about my open toes or slippers. They let anyone they're "cool" with slide and break the so called rules they say they're abiding. We were a party of 4 and our entire group did not go in because of this.
