Once you enter past the security guard you feel like you've entered a totally different world. It was a World Cup watch party when I went so the vibe was energetic but I get the impression it might always be like that. Order beer on one side of the patio and ciders on the other. Or get a half and half pint (snake bit) and get a little bit of both. This place is a vibe. The outside area is chilled and the music is not too loud, meaning you can have a conversation with people. Great if you are past your 20s. There are two bars - cider bar and beer bar. They are separated by the patio area and both have different vibes, which is really cool. The music was nice when I was there. There are also screens with sports playing, which is a big bonus. The calendar on their website also shows all the events and even the food vendors, which is convenient. One of my favorite breweries in Lincoln Heights with the only down side being the parking :( it's off on the corner of Daly st near the freeway and bridge which makes parking a bit limited. Checked out Benny Boy brewing for their ciders. It's a fun space with two sides, one for beer and one for ciders, and open space in the middle for live music, tables, and food trucks. Best part is that you might catch the two cats roaming around. They feature a variety of ciders with an option to do a taster flight. While I wanted to try the Roxy and Mango ones, I ended up getting the green tea one which did have a faint green tea flavor. We came on a night of a Dodgers game so it was pretty busy. What a fun brewery space located in a little section in LA right off of the 5N. You can't miss the signage from the freeway and it's actually what caught my interest as it had advertised one of its many events hosted at the brewery, Chick S**t Bingo. My bf and I decided to go on a Sunday when they held this specific event as it was the last of the year (the Chicken S**t Bingo only happens on Sundays during the summer). There is no lot to park, and only valet parking available (the placard showed $17 on one side and $20 on the other). We decided to park about 1.5 miles away in another lot and hoof it. So definitely carpool or Lyft there. Benny Boy Brewing is tucked away off of Daly St parallel to the 5N. There are two sides of it, the brewery side and the cider house side. We chose the cider house as we orefer that over beers. Love the open air design and space of the Cider House, large wooden tables, casks line and walls as well as the tanks in the back. They had so many choices of cider but we went with the Cider Slushie and the Green Tea Cider. The Green Tea Cider was refreshing slightly bitter (not a bad thing) and had a subtle tea flavor. The Cider Slushie was our favorite though. The flavors change and at the time we went it was a wildberry cider slush. It was refreshing on a hot day and the most popuplar as almost everyone I saw walking away from the bar was getting one. We didn't try the food trucks set up and it seems that those change as well. The event was very interesting and I'd call it more Chicken S**t Roulette than Bingo. The event went from 3pm - 5pm and basically you purchase squares with numbers 1-72. Once all tickets are sold for a round they introduce a chicken to a pen and wait for it to poop on a square, winner gets $100. It did feel a bad and hope the chickens weren't stressed being put in the pen surrounded by people. Their website had a good number of various events that we're looking to checkout in the future and it's such a great way to invite more business rather than it simply being a brewery/cider house. Lincoln heights is not normally my stomping grounds but when my friend told me about an oktoberfest themed celebration happening in September nonetheless. I was intrigued. While being next to the 5 freeway, it surprisingly doesnt have that much noise pollution from the cars. Coupled with Live bands, it would feel like any other brewery. Upon entering the brewery, you get this midwestern farm town vibe i would say. It's a nice change of pace from being in the city most of the time. So I had ordered both the oktoberfest beer, kolsch, and the partnered cider they had with their partner which was calamansi flavored. I didn't get more than 2 as I needed to be a responsible adult and skedaddle safely home. the kolsh had a nice caramel profile to it, while also being light for a beer. the calamansi cider their partner makes is dangerous. It has such a refreshing calamansi note that you wouldn't think it would be alcoholic. I also ordered the schnitzel plate that a 3rd party served out for $18. I personally wasn't a huge fan of it because the sides were mac & cheese and potato salad. Both of which was extremely american. The schnitzel itself was generally bland in taste, the breading didn't have enough seasoning. The weirdest of vibes. I've never been to a non-family friendly brewery before. We were informed by security at the front that our 2-year-old could come in but only if he was held the entire time, and if he was caught walking around we would be asked to leave. They're very dog friendly, but beware if your dog isn't a fan of cats or if you're allergic as they do have cats that freely roam the premises. The beer was fine. If you're a fan of lighter beers I would recommend Homage Brewing, Arrow Lodge, or Angel City (soon to close), all of which are in the area and are very kid and dog friendly. Additionally there is extremely limited parking available in the area, so be prepared to pay $20 for valet. read more

Also beware if you don't like cats or have allergies because there is a cat tower right by the bar. I came here on July 12th for National Michelada Day after hearing about it online, and I'm really glad I did. They had a couple of vendors set up in the brewery space, a full-on michelada special using their Lincoln Heights Lager, and even a round of Loteria to raise money for charity. I'm not much of a drinker, but I do love a good michelada, and theirs was genuinely delicious. Came with tamarind candy too which added a nice twist. The atmosphere was just immaculate. The kind of place where you can kick back, people-watch, vibe out, and try something new without pressure. The menu had a wide range of beers and ciders, and you don't need to commit to a full pour right away, you can get taster sizes for around $4, or a pint for around $12, all made in-house. Parking is definitely the trickiest part. They offer valet for $17, which is a solid option if you want peace of mind, but a lot of people, including myself; just parked underneath the bridge nearby, even though the signs all said "No Stopping Any Time" Definitely felt like a gamble, but we didn't get a ticket, and it seems like thats what everyone does. This spot is already on my list to come back to, maybe even for a birthday or chill hangout.
