Best fish tacos I've tried in LA. Their shrimp cocktails are also delicious. The have great service. best to go early.

I wanted shrimp tacos bad one evening & against better judgement, I believed Google & went to 4 Vientos & ofc they were closed. So I furiously Google & Yelp Mariscos in Boyle Heights & decide on this place. Parking lots spacious & free/ easy. Upon entering, there's plenty of tables. Clean, minimal, inviting. I'm order 2 shrimp & 2 fish tacos. $5 each Cash only. Super professional hospitable staff Food was quick Still warm when I got home 2 miles later. So on to the food The portions are astronomically unbelievably huge One taco was more than enough for one meal & presentation wise, the container was a sea of cabbage. & buried underneath was the fried seafood Impossible to fold like a taco, it was a tostada type entree, or a deconstructed taco. So the fried shrimp were like tubes. & the coating was very Panko- ish. It was like 10 baby shrimp nuggets on top of the tortilla Then the fish it was also like 4-5 pieces So they didn't taste nasty but they weren't the bomb. This place is for you if you know what you like, know what you want, know that this place specifically makes it the way you like it and you're ordering to go. I've been craving mariscos for MONTHS. Sadly, I was not satisfied. This isn't the type of place to just try whatever they offer. We ordered the tacos gobernador. Those were pretty good. I've had them before at many places. I also had the batalloso. The batalloso was full of beautiful seafood. Packed! That part was amazing. But I couldn't get with the flavor. I couldn't even finish it. I never have a problem finishing mariscos. My husband at two tacos - one shrimp, one fish. The presentation was also beautiful. And packed! The downside is, the only salsa or chile you're getting is tapatío on the table. We asked for salsa or anything else they have besides the taptatio. The answer was a hard no. Tapatío only. So that took away from the tacos. My daughter had the fried fish and shrimp plate. This was good. Fries were really good. Unfortunately, they're not mindful of what they put on the tvs. First, it was a dental infomercial. Then a starving children with visible health problems infomercial came in after. It was hard to eat seeing all of the adversity. We asked to change the channel. They did not. Lastly, there are no restrooms. Even for patrons. So bring your wipes and sanitizer. Love Las Brisas. Been coming here for over 20 years, Radio Shack was still next door when it first opened up. My go to here are the shrimp tacos, they are ensenada style. Shrimp or fish ceviche is pretty good here as well. Service is just normal service, nothing crazy. Good amount of tables to sit at, also have outside seating but not as clean since it's a shared space with the other tenants. One thing though CASH ONLY!! Nothing else. read more

I wanted some mariscos but didn't want to travel to my usual go-to spot which is about 20 miles away, I yelped mariscos and found this place. As I walked in, there was a huge line to order. But to my delight, the line moved briskly... I had failed to check to see if they accepted credit cards before coming but quickly noticed "CASH ONLY" signage inside. I had $30 cash, I quickly glanced at the menu board and tried to see what I could afford, I settled for the campechana with aguachiles ($20) to-go. I really wanted to try other items ($36) but didn't have enough ca$h. I guess like every where else prices are soaring! I did feel the prices a bit elevated but what can you do. Came here early Saturday afternoon with my family. It was a little busy. There were only a few tables available inside and were lucky to get one after placing our order. One thing to keep in mind, IT'S CASH ONLY. I ordered the three fish tacos with the salsa and a tostada de ceviche de camaron, one fish taco for my son, and my husband ordered the aguachiles. We got our food and I was immediately surprised to see that the order of the three fish tacos were not crispy fish tacos. It was rather regular cooked fish. It had a good flavor, not gonna lie, especially with the cabbage and bit of pico de gallo added, but it was not what I was looking for/ wanted. My son's individual taco WAS a crispy fish taco, which was quite loaded and was able to make him two our of it. My ceviche de camaron was a bust for me. I really dislike oregano IN ceviche, and had I known it was loaded with oregano, I would not have got it. My husband said his aguachiles needed more lime and some salt, and thought it was just ok. Las Brisas is definitely a local favorite here in Boyle Heights. As someone who has been coming here since little I will say that the food remains to still be pretty good. My shrimp tacos came out at around 16 dollars for three big tacos with many shrimp on the tacos. I do recommend them. The cashiers are stone faced 90% of the time. They're not friendly at all especially the older lady that has been there since the beginning if you know who I'm referring to, this is a shame. She does not smile or say hello, The guys in the back are hauling ass and she's like ( well you get the idea) all the time!!! In regards to the wait, expect to wait if you don't call ahead. I usually call in large orders and they package them very neatly in boxes making easy to do the carry out. One of the ladies is nice and sweet. But I can't say that about everyone. Some of the women here lack customer service skills.
