Welcome back to another day in the life of the hungry inspector. Work took me to Boyle Heights. I've been trying to eat less beef. So, as I'm driving down Olympic I remember this mariscos spot I found last year, so I had to circle back on it. It's a super low key spot across from The food for less. Nothing fancy at all just look out for the red awning. I get there a little after the lunch hour lunch so the place wasn't crowded. The wait staff are friendly. They mostly speak Spanish, which is cool with me. Actually, that's a good indicator the food is going to be fire. I've been twice and these tacos have been my go to. I love that the salsa has some kick the tacos are filling and the price isn't crazy!! If you like seafood and tacos dorados you can't beat this place.

Good tostada and tilapia plate. Shrimp, octopus and fish are fresh and well marinated. Service is friendly with some English but a little slow and missing left and right. Need to get their attention. Noisy and fun typical Mexican restaurant. Restroom is not the best but functional. Private Parking in the back is ok for east LA. Probably come back if hitting LA traffic again

Mariscos Linda has been a staple amongst East LA residents. I am a frequent customer, especially on hot summer days. This spot has great fresh mariscos and have plenty of room to sit at. The parking can be a bit tricky as sometimes you have to find street parking cause their lot may be full. I order off their food truck located right next to the restaurant. I gotta say i love their crunchy shrimp tacos. They definitely provide enough sauce and avocado for your tacos. The service here is fairly quick and friendly. I don't remember waiting an absurd amount of time for my order ever. My only complaint is that there are times where i find my shrimp tacos over seasoned. It's something that Mariscos Linda can definitely work on in the future. But all in all, i would recommend!

Food was fresh off the grill, the cocktail had a great base with plenty of crackers and tostadas on the side. Plenty of kick from the salsa and garnished toppings for the deep friend tacos. I do like the fact that there are plenty of TV's to keep me entertained. The bar next door has great ambience and can cater to your drinking needs! Will come back to try some drinks and more delicious food items!

The ceviche is pretty damn good I've had all their ceviches before but the fish really cures all my worries. The portion is great and the service is pretty quick with fresh ingredients. They have outside and indoor seating so it's perfect during summer.

After a long night of drinking what better than some shrimp tacos from Mariscos Linda. Every bite is filled with a great savory taste that'll have you wanting to come back for more. The staff here is always friendly and fast, assuring that your tacos are hot and crispy when you get them. And the cocktails are cool as they should be to beat the heat. This place is very suitable, as it is very clean and well maintained. It has an inside restaurant as well as an outdoor dining area to hang out. Great place to eat with friends, family or even come eat alone. 10/10

I ordered 3 fish tacos and a modelo michelada. The miche was a 5/10... not the best. Tacos were 10/10. Then tacos got me sooooo full. I could've made four tacos out of two! Even the security guard was cool asf. Shout to him for being cool people. Our server took a little too long to give us the bill AND box to go. They get 3 stars because of how long it took them to give me the box and bill

Place still looks the same after many many years. Food is OK had better shrimp tacos. Enchiladas just had a distinct taste of star anise. Not my fave. Meat of the enchiladas was good not tough. The kids nuggets had rice with it and fries. It was ok. The Agua fresco is good and spicy so that was a plus. Shrimp cheviche was good. We also got the tilapia now that was good. It also had a different taste with was good. Can't remember it. I may go back but since it was the only one open that late it would be our go to. But not a guarantee. They do have parking in the back. Full bar and outside sitting. Workers are very friendly and they speak English. Whew.

Their seafood options is amazing. If you enjoy seafood, check this place out! I had their fried shrimp taco and regular shrimp taco and it was out of this world. Reasonably priced. Go support your local mom and pop shop, people! Parking: available, in the back by the alleyway

We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and everything was presented really well. The enchiladas were flavorful, the grilled fish was cooked perfectly, and the tortillas with the short rib were a table favorite. Portions were great for sharing, and the sauces really tied everything together. Service was friendly and our server checked in on us throughout the night without making us feel rushed. It did get a little busy, so there were a few waits between courses, but nothing that took away from the experience. Our waiter then told us we needed a specific Dine LA reservation, something that was never mentioned when I called or when I made the reservation. I've been to plenty of Dine LA restaurants and have never experienced this. The service wasn't necessarily bad, but it was very dismissive. No apology, no real explanation--they basically just brushed it off. Thankfully, the food saved the night! The Michelada oysters were TO DIE FOR--seriously one of the best oyster flavors I've ever had. We also had the short rib plate, which was delicious. The outdoor atmosphere and decor are really cute too. I would come back, but ONLY for those oysters--definitely not for the service.

Sonoratown was our first stop as it was highly recommended by my boyfriend's brother, and it did not disappoint. It immediately earned a spot in our top five favorite taco spots for carne asada in all of Southern California! The location that we went to is located in between Elysium DTLA and Perfumeria Starlux on E 8th St in downtown LA. There is only paid(?) street parking around the area that could be extremely difficult to find during work days. Because we couldn't snag a spot, my friends and I opted for takeout and didn't end up eating until about 30 minutes later. Despite the travel time, the tacos were still absolutely incredible--I can only imagine how spectacular it tastes fresh! My friends and I ordered the carne asada tacos, and my boyfriend opted for the cabeza. Before I even took a full bite, I tasted a piece of the loose carne asada and was blown away; it was perfectly cooked with a wonderful tenderness and deep smokiness. The use of a single, thin, handmade flour tortilla--rather than the standard double corn--was a total game-changer and exactly how I preferred my tacos. The salsas were equally impressive, offering fantastic flavor and a great kick. My boyfriend's cabeza taco was just as standout, featuring super-tender meat with a rich, savory profile. Wowowow! Between the exceptional meat quality, bold flavors, and great value, this is easily one of the best taco spots I've visited. It's a huge bummer that they don't have a location down in San Diego, but we will definitely be back!

Cute building with lovely patio seating: from the trailing hanging pothos plants, Spanish tiles, to relaxing latin-house music the vibes were welcoming. I'm not much of a drinker though, when asked if I wanted to make my pina colada a "float" I thought incorrectly about ice cream. It was graciously explained that you take an additional shot of rum and float it on top of the drink or mix in to make it extra boozy. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Tasted like if a watermelon aqua Fresca was combined with a margarita, there is a hint of salt that brings out the fruit sweetness. We special ordered a bunch of different proteins and vegetables at half portions to make a feast: Aguachile- Light refreshing starter, kanpachi perfectly marinated and great for the summer heat. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Fried chicken tacos- Found the chicken slightly on the dry side, if there was a creamy/thicker sauce would be even better... nothing wrong with flavor, good mild heat. I did enjoy the fresh shredded cabbage and carrots, reminded me of bahn mi. Empanadas- Loved the acidity of the sauce that cut through the fattiness of the ground meat. Light shell. Crispy Squash flower- Delicate crunch, like an angelic version of a jalapeno popper. Lamb chops- Definition of "treat-yourself" luxurious meat lollipops. Celery salad- Simple dish but the lemon flavor and tartness really helped break up the richness of other dishes. Churros- Light crunch and small, petite dessert. The thin caramel sauce is addicting. Fine dining, for those special occasions or if you just want to splurge for a morale boost highly recommend this restaurant. Valet parking or park across the street or around the corner in a lot for $5-10.
