Welcome back to another day in the life of the hungry inspector. Work took me to Boyle Heights. I've been trying to eat less beef. So, as I'm driving down Olympic I remember this mariscos spot I found last year, so I had to circle back on it. It's a super low key spot across from The food for less. Nothing fancy at all just look out for the red awning. I get there a little after the lunch hour lunch so the place wasn't crowded. The wait staff are friendly. They mostly speak Spanish, which is cool with me. Actually, that's a good indicator the food is going to be fire. I've been twice and these tacos have been my go to. I love that the salsa has some kick the tacos are filling and the price isn't crazy!! If you like seafood and tacos dorados you can't beat this place. read more

Food was fresh off the grill, the cocktail had a great base with plenty of crackers and tostadas on the side. Plenty of kick from the salsa and garnished toppings for the deep friend tacos. I do like the fact that there are plenty of TV's to keep me entertained. The bar next door has great ambience and can cater to your drinking needs! Mariscos Linda has been a staple amongst East LA residents. I am a frequent customer, especially on hot summer days. This spot has great fresh mariscos and have plenty of room to sit at. The parking can be a bit tricky as sometimes you have to find street parking cause their lot may be full. I order off their food truck located right next to the restaurant. I gotta say i love their crunchy shrimp tacos. They definitely provide enough sauce and avocado for your tacos. The service here is fairly quick and friendly. I don't remember waiting an absurd amount of time for my order ever. My only complaint is that there are times where i find my shrimp tacos over seasoned. It's something that Mariscos Linda can definitely work on in the future. But all in all, i would recommend! read more

The place indeed looked like it belonged in East LA. The dim lighting for the bar but very bright for the restaurant area lol. The waitress was on it when it came to taking our order. She'd come by everytime to make sure we were doing good. As for the food, I got the enchiladas. Not the best I've had but my friend went for the shrimp cocktail which he swears was good. read more

We ordered for delivery at work. I got fish tacos, crispy Shrimp tacos, guacamole and chips, and refried beans. The tacos were just okay because we were hungry. The shrimp tacos were better but I wouldn't order either again. The guacamole was the best item I had, but it was $10 and the chips weren't even made fresh, they were from a bag! The refried beans were okay. Overall I will likely not revisit as I know there are better fish tacos around. read more

Place still looks the same after many many years. Food is OK had better shrimp tacos. Enchiladas just had a distinct taste of star anise. Not my fave. Meat of the enchiladas was good not tough. The kids nuggets had rice with it and fries. It was ok. The Agua fresco is good and spicy so that was a plus. Shrimp cheviche was good. We also got the tilapia now that was good. It also had a different taste with was good. Can't remember it. I may go back but since it was the only one open that late it would be our go to. But not a guarantee. As far as Mariscos go, this is definitely one of LA's best. It's a hop, skip and a jump to get there, but definitely worth it. As a creature of habit, it's usually a toss up between a coctel or seafood soup. Both will not disappoint. And off the food truck, you must try the octopus taco. I typically feed my phone first, but I ate it before I could take a pic, it's that good. Gooey, cheesy, salty with tons of minerality. My game plan is to keep eating octopus so one day I'll be smart enough not to ;-) The decor is old school with red vinyl booths and includes a sign that keeps musicians out. Cuz', you know, I was about to break into an Anglo-Saxon version of Yo No Se Mañana. But I digress... Come with an appetite. Portions are big and worth every penny. You can sit inside or out. The service tonight was excellent. My order of choice is the costa azul shrimp. They are absolutely the best in town. No cap. Hint: pour the house salsa on every bite. Once the cheese melts the dual mix unlocks a superb taste. Add a hint of lemon if you like. I will continue to be a client as long as the quality of food and service remains the same. Wow. Ordered lunch from here and it was everything I was craving. I got the fish taco which had a hefty serving of fish; topped with cabbage, tomato, sour cream and sauce. I also ordered a tostada of aguachiles and one of fish ceviche. This is where I was pleasantly surprised. Each came with about 6oz of each type of seafood, PLENTY of tostadas, condiments including tapatio and lemon; they even sent me half an avocado! The fish ceviche was so fresh and juicy while on the other hand the aguachiles were a vibrant green and super spicy but man was it delicious! I appreciate the amount of condiments they sent, ensuring you have enough of everything you need for your mariscos craving. 100% will be ordering from here again! read more

Came here this evening. Not disappointed at all. Waited roughly 25-30 minutes to be seated. Upon being seated, we were given a tray with chips and salsa which tasted pretty good. Not stale or tasteless like other places. Got an horchata, which was pretty good as well and a tostada de cevice de camaron and two fish tacos, one for me and one for my son. The tostada was really good! The fish taco was pretty good and packed that I had to cut the fish in half and make two tacos. My picky 5 year old ate the whole taco as well, but I also did the same, cut it and made it into two tacos. Definitely recommend this spot. read more

I been a customer for over 25 years. This use to be my go to favorite restaurant. I was so disappointed with our food yesterday. The Diablo sauce was so watery. The beans had no cheese on them and they were tasteless. I can't believe they charge extra for a refill of the Aqua's as in the Horchata or Hibiscus. The salsa has changed and not for the good. I would have to say this place grew on me. The first couple of times I didn't really like it because of their customer service but that has changed. The food is great! We went on a Sunday afternoon, it was a bit crowded but not enough to justify the bad food and Bad service. We used to come here often and the food has changed drastically. The waiter told us the food didn't have salt because the cooks were busy so they were forgetting. We ordered langostinos and they were served a la plancha style, no sauce, no seasoning, NO SALT. My gf got the Cadillac margarita on the rocks. Food is on point. Shrimp aguachile was spicy and delicious! It's shrimp marinated and "cooked" using the citrus of limes. So bomb.
