I work with children with disabilities and we took one of my patients who is significantly developmentally delayed and cannot speak or follow instructions to the east Moana location. Both the tech and doctor were so compassionate and patient and so willing to adapt to our patients needs. When we left the front desk person was sensitive to the fact that we might not be able to wait for the doctors orders we needed and offered to email them so we could leave. I believe the quality of your experience depends on what you're there for and how quickly they're able to take your payment. I went in for extractions, and everything was mixed up. They then asked me what I wanted to do. I'm not a dentist, so how am I supposed to know which teeth should be removed? They lost their oral surgeon, but instead of contacting me to explain the situation or let me know they were waiting to hire a new one, I had to make multiple trips to the office just to follow up on procedures they had already told me they would complete. I've also spent long periods on hold while they attempted to transfer me to someone they knew was available but apparently unwilling to take the call. Overall, the communication and organization were extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, it feels like they're more focused on appearances than on providing quality patient care. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with this office regarding my mother's dental treatment. From the beginning, the office manager did not clearly explain the costs or provide an accurate breakdown of the treatment plan. My mother was told that her entire treatment would be covered by her $6,000 loan. After treatment had already begun, the office suddenly informed us that they could no longer see her, but they did not explain why. We spent weeks calling the office without receiving any return calls or answers. When we finally went to the office in person, the front desk staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. Only then were we told that my mother could not continue treatment until she paid an additional estimated $8,000. This was never disclosed before treatment started. As a result, my mother has incomplete dental work and has been left in a very difficult situation. To make matters worse, her insurance denied coverage for the scans because the office failed to complete the required prior authorization paperwork. Overall, this experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and financially stressful. Will file a complaint with the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. My bf started coming here earlier this year. He wanted to get dentures, but was told he could only get a partial. Scan was done right away and we were told he would get a call when they came in. After waiting several weeks, I finally called, only to be told the partial had been there for weeks and an appointment was needed. So the appointment was scheduled. We went to the appointment only to be told that they were giving us the partial and needed a an appointment to get it put in. We were handed a referral slip for an oral surgeon and watched the girl scan it into the computer and told us we needed to wait for prior authorization. Ok cool. I keep calling the oral surgeon and they haven't gotten an authorization. I call Boca and they say "oh, we have an oral surgeon coming on staff so we are waiting for that. Well it would have been nice to know that. We received a denial from the insurance for the partial, now. Each and every time we have dealt with the Moana office, we have been treated with the rudest attitudes. The office manager is terrible. Anytime we try to find out what the status is it expresses our frustration, the girls blow us off, talk over us and give us no answers. Also, my bf is disabled, I am his medical proxy and on his release of information to speak on his behalf. This office manager keeps saying she can't talk to me because he is over 18. That's not how release of information works! Well, now we have called corporate and filed an official complaint with Boca dental. I hope anyone that goes there in the future has a better experience than we have read more

Stay away from this place. Dr. David Velasco at Boca Dental & Braces has horrible bedside manner--he was rough and completely uncompassionate when I explained my needs. The lab is in another state, and each appointment was nearly a month apart just to get dentures. When they finally came in, I was made to wait another two weeks just for a fitting. I was left with absolutely no teeth for nearly three months. The front desk staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. When I expressed concern about the long delays, I was told, "I don't know what to tell you." No effort was made to accommodate me. This experience was unacceptable. Proceed with caution. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! The staff are genuinely mentally challenged and money hungry and do not understand NO means NO when it comes to what patients can and CANNOT afford in this economy. They pushed a graph several times to my spouse after saying no. There was a singular doctor that treated her with understanding and kindness. She had an infected root canal that needed to be pulled out. the actual procedure took less than 10 minutes. after she said no so many times they said "well we can wait a month?". We will be reporting them to the governing Dental Board of Commission. Yelp needs to update and allow us to put zero stars. Awful awful awful experience. read more

They keep telling me my insurance won't cover fillings and are trying to charge me. I have talked to my insurance a few times and they sure as hell cover them. They also rarely answer their phone. Even the insurance people tried to reach them 4 times while I was on the phone with them. They are violating their contract with the insurance company and trying to make a buck off their patients Scandalous. PLUS, the dentist told me to take out a 2nd mortgage on my house to help pay for all of the work that needs to be done. Not all of us own houses to do that with. AVOID. read more

Run. I should've realized when the receptionists were incompetent and not only confused my number somehow with an entirely different one in a different area code that I didn't even give them... But it took them three tries to finally correct it. Then once we showed up for a 2pm appointment for my dentures and extraction... She tells me she has me for three. FUNNY, BECAUSE YOU TOLD ME TWO. I wanted partials. My incisors and the teeth around them felt super solid. The dentist convinced me my incisors weren't worth saving. Then upon extraction he had such a time removing one of them that it left a big hole in my face. So he had to fill it with a bone graft. BUT HE DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME. So I go home without antibiotics even. None the wiser. and that side of my face is like a basketball in 4 hours. I go back not even 48 hours later for extreme pain and describe that side of my face feels like I've been in a car wreck and I can't move it properly. He prescribes me antibiotics and ibuprofen and STILL SAYS NOTHING. I didn't find out until THREE WEEKS LATER when I got the extraction sutures removed and the denture tech trying to fit my dentures let it slip. Because she was having a time. Because HE CHANGED THE STRUCTURE OF MY FACE. WITHOUT TELLING ME. She kept asking me how they fit to which I replied "I can't wear them, so I guess rather poorly. I thought they had to be fitted." Her and everyone else was surprised that I haven't been wearing any dentures or eating solid food for 3 weeks. I asked to speak to the dentist but he was "too busy". HE WAS GIVING HIS FAMILY A TOUR OF THE PLACE RIGHT BEFORE I WENT IN THE BACK. This place deserves and will get a malpractice suit to the best of my ability. Stay far away from this place. I brought my sister here when she was in serious pain and just needed her wisdom teeth out. Instead of helping, they tried to take advantage of her when she was vulnerable refusing to treat her unless she agreed to a $1,000 add-on she didn't need. They used her pain to pressure her into something unnecessary and made an already awful situation so much worse. It's disgusting how some people run their business with no ethics at all. If I could give negative stars I would. They talked my husband into getting denture and he decided to go through with it thinking it would make it easier to eat healthy. Well the dentist that pulled his teeth totally fucked his mouth up and on top of that he did a bone Graf and didn't even say anything to my husband. The lady that was trying to adjust his dentures was the only person that told him. So now he has dentures that don't fit so he can't wear them. Called the N McCarran location in Sparks. I had a cracked tooth that needed to be extracted. I was told it was a six months wait. I ended up going out of network to get this taken care of. Boca was the second in network dentist office I tried to get help from. The first was Absolute on Pyramid. Wrote a review about them too. The woman that answered the phone should find a new job she could have cared less that I was in pain. read more

Definitely would not recommend. Went in today for a 3pm appointment and was told I was not scheduled at this location, maybe I was at the other location. I clarified with them I was told this location. I then pulled out my phone and showed the receptionist the exact date and time as well as duration of the phone call when I called to schedule this appointment. She looked at the other receptionist next to her and they both didn't know what to say. Needless to say I didn't go back until 3:49. The female taking my X-rays took 20+ mins due to "the machine and computer aren't working" she claimed, as I also overheard her tell a coworker she wasn't trained this way as she asked her for some help. I was done at 4:47pm. It was a complete disaster needless to say and I won't be returning, talk about a joke of an establishment lmao!!! read more

The service I received at this office was definitively, hands down, the absolute WORST service I've ever received as a patient anywhere in my life. Once I'm called in for the dentist to examine me before a wisdom extraction, the dentist starts looking around my mouth and sees that my gums are in aweful shape. So instead of acknowleging that my gums were clearly sensitive and angry, he jabs at the back of the corner of my mouth to get a better look at a wisdom tooth so a jerk back instinctively because of the pain and he goes "hey. you need to relax." in a firm ah voice like he's a principle or something. i go "Im trying??" like maybe after acknowledging that my gums are severely inflammed you should be gentle? Just a suggestion ya know, make your patients feel good because dentists like him are the reason I get severe anxiety when I need oral healthcare. He was being rude to my mom after she asked a couple questions saying "your mother is distracting me" acting like he cant walk and chew gum at the same time. answer a simple question and continue your examination like any medical professional does. I'll leave out the part where he poked my gums with the scraper and didnt care that i was obviously hurting. Whatever, he prescribes me pain killers and anti biotics and tells me to get the sedation medicine the day before the extraction. But the receptionists... I'm still unsure how they got and how they have their jobs. After finishing the exam my mother and I walk up to the "lovely" sylvia to explain my options to me. My plan was soley a wisdom tooth extraction but they suggested a cleaning and some fillings for over $1,000 and I said no(which i got done at tmcc for $100). And that's when her sweet lil attitude went sour. So my mom and I say oh no thank you we'll just do the extractions, because its covered by medicaid, and she gave us a paper with the lil costs she wrote on it and let us walk out without setting an appointment. So we stop in the middle of the parking lot realizing that and turn back around to head in again. I said, "sorry I dont think I got my appointment date for the extraction" she says, "well you just got up and walked out." like baby just stop me and I'll wait for you smh so childish. So after we set that up, i prepare the day before to pick up the sedation prescription i had to get and take prior to my extractions and when I tell you how much trouble I had to go through... Driving to multiple pharmacies calling the dental office, just to show up to a pharmacy and be told we haven't gotten anything. This went on for over a week after consistantly trying to get my precription. Then towards the end of it all after rescheduling my appointment once already, I ask this cute lil receptionist "ok so we've tried this and that and you're obviously still having problems sending my prescription that I needed to take before my extraction. so in a perfect world how do i get this prescription?" this "cutie" says " oh we dont have the correct software in place to send the prescription."......... like why in the world was a i prescribed something prior to my extraction just to be told i cant get the medication that the dentist prescribed me to continue with the extractions in the first place.. like do you, the audience, have an understanding of the absolute incompetence here? so she tells me i cant get the medicine and im like "uhh okay and what about my wisdom appointment tomorrow?" and then another cute receptionist wants to say "i guess we'll be refering you to an oral surgeon" i said "i need it done here because of my insurance" so she gives her cute lil smirk and tells me not to come to my appointment the next day because they'd refer me. And like the prescriptions they claimed to have sent, I've yet to recieve any referal for any one. Not that I'm surprised in anyway. It was rather clear that they saw me as a problem and just wanted to get rid of me. The only reason this place deserves even ONE star (and thats being extremely generous) is because I'm now in the process of getting my passport to have them extracted in guatemala with good people at $40 a tooth. I'm fairly excited to go with my roomate where she had hers done and literally pay less for what they were trying to charge me for a cleaning (INCLUDING AIRFAIR). LISTEN, im beggin yall not to come here unless you will be treated like garbage. Thats how I felt when I was shooed away the day before the extraction of the wisdom teeth that have been hurting me for so long. Maybe if your rich you'll be treated with respect at this place. The dentists was so rude very dismissive and talked down to me the entire time. Told me I needed a cleaning that my insurance wouldn't pay for and would work with me on anything else. Front desk was rude and tried to charge fees for everything with out prior notice. Boca dental and Braces on Moana lane is my very last choice to ever want to go back to. Sylvia who is the manager is very rude, unprofessional, unhelpful and refuses to help her patient. Sylvia also helps guide her other staff in regards to treating patients poorly if you get on her bad side. The dentist himself David Velasco refuses to fix work that he does after messing up on, I am still in pain from a filling that was never corrected by Mr. Velasco. The office accepted cash payements when they go through a third party bank who handles all payments because they're not a legitimate business, and refuses to give your money back for work that they never did. Be cautious and careful because you don't get what you pay for from dentist David Velasco At Boca dental and Braces on East Moana Lane. Mr. Velasco is aware of the manager Sylvia and her actions not relaying phone calls after numerous attempts for months and ignoring patients along with treating people poorly he does not care after they get paid. Sylvia refuses to give out any corporate phone number or her boss's phone number to try to get any financial money back for any accounts. The problem is they want to be paid first before the work is done and therefore after could care less if you're in pain or need help. I highly DO NOT recommend this office for any future patients regarding adults,seniors, and children. This place is a rip off. read more
