My 1.5 year old son had his first ever dentist appointment today. The paperwork was easy and the check in process was fast! Karen the dental hygienist was amazing and kept my son calm. She was very sweet and warm. Then we got to see Dr. McGinley, she is the best!! She is so kind and caring. She gave great advice on how to brush his teeth and educated me on any dental findings. We have been patients at Growing Smiles since 2005. My two oldest have aged out and are so very bummed to have to go to an adult dentist office now. I feel so grateful to of found this dentist office for my son. He's been a patient here for two years now and Jodi has been our main girl!!! She is amazing and cleans his teeth so well. She's consistent, kind, gentle in her approach and all around a joy to be around. And of course Dr. Trujillo is AWESOME!!! He had to do a pretty big procedure on my son and really made sure to answer any and all questions, always following up with us after each cleaning. It's funny to read some of these reviews that state he has no bedside manner and is rude and all because of Calling out carbs as the #1 culprit. Lets face it.....HE'S RIGHT! Nowadays, most kids diets consist of processed, refined, fake foods most being All carbs which do in fact turn into sugar. If someone is offended by him stating this???? OR Maybe it's a bit of a guilty conscience or denial of what CRAP foods you are buying and feeding your kids. Would you rather see a Dr who will "sugar coat" things just to make sure you don't get your feelings hurt???? I appreciate him being blunt and sharing his knowledge. He is only trying to help your child avoid cavities. Any problematic issues of course would only be putting more of your money in his pocket so you do the math. read more

Not only did he tell us that "obviously her diet hasn't changed", but he also mentioned he was going to be late to "buy his new BMW and how he couldn't wait to leave." Amazing kids dental facility! We have been taking our kids here for many years and we have never had any issues with them. From the front office to the back office; the staff is wonderful and very accommodating....and Dr. Miller is amazing and so friendly with kids. They really take their time with the kids and they especially take their time with the parents. Taking time to explain the procedure and concerns they might have and suggest corrective actions Parking can be a challenge sometimes especially if you have an appointment mid day but can usually find parking close by. Large waiting area with plenty of chairs, activity center for the small ones and a couple of flat screens to keep the older ones occupied. Today's movie was Monsters Inc. 2 and Moana. They have 7 dental chairs on the back "main" floor along with a half dozen individual sectioned off rooms. There is also seating in the back so parents; feel free to head back with your children! read more

Very nice friendly staff. Enjoyed taking my daughter there but then after 4 years I got sick and tired of hearing from the dentist about how my 5 year old daughter cannot have carbs. Most ridiculous thing to say when children need carbs ! It's part of a balanced healthy diet which is what I feed my child. Every 6 months he said she has a cavity and it's from feeding her carbs. I find very hard to believe since she brushes w an electric toothbrush, flosses and uses a fluoride rinse everyday ! I have other complaints but that's enough and I found a much better dentist for her. read more

I had a terrible experience with this dentist. All of my children have had struggles with having bad teeth. My two youngest children need a lot of dental work done. This dentist was completely rude and had a ruthless attitude! He told me that it was my fault their teeth were as bad as they are because I feed them carbs. Instead of educating me and helping me learn better, he basically told me that he was informing me what to do but I wouldn't do it anyway so why bother. I'm not an idiot but was made to feel like one. I brush and floss their teeth daily and he made me feel like my kids would be better off living with someone else. Don't bother taking your kids to him unless you want to leave feeling like the worst parent in the whole world! I felt bad for his office staff too. They were very kind and helpful but seemed to be walking on eggshells around him! read more

There is no way Dr. Trujillo and the staff here deserve anything less than 5 stars. They are outstanding: patient, kind, yet thorough. Both my children have gone to Dr. Trujillo for many years. My oldest has severe special needs, and that are so incredibly patient with her. We would be lost without them in terms of her dental care. My other daughter doesn't want to go anywhere else, even though she is way past pediatric dentist age. We rarely sit and wait beyond our scheduled time, they tend to be prompt although every office on occasion has delays. This dentist and staff are one of those gems we found and I hope they continue on for many years. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Miller since I was 2 years old. 34 years later, my kids see him. I have never been unhappy with the quality of work received, the bedside manner of the doctors and their staff, or the uplifting environment of the office. It takes a very special kind of person to make kids look forward to going to the dentist; miraculously, this office is FULL of these people. Dr. Miller is also one of only 2 doctors in my entire life who's send me refund checks when the estimate of services that I paid exceeded the actual cost. Honest, friendly, professional, skilled, and compassionate... that's how I would describe this practice. I wouldn't recommend any other pediatric dentist in Reno. read more

As a fair review for this office, I notice (at least it seems) that most of the bad reviews here are for Dr. Trujillo. My child has never had to see Dr. Trujillo so I cannot make a rating on his work. However, we DO see Dr. Jade Miller, and he is a FABULOUS dentist. My son is 8 with moderate to severe autism. Going to any doctor's office for any reason gives him a great deal of anxiety. Dr. Miller goes above and beyond, every visit, to ensure my child's comfort. The majority of his staff (I say the majority as we did have one hygienist who's manner I didn't care for) are fantastic, caring, and patient. Dr. Miller is akin to a happy young grandpa. He loves children, you just sense it. My son is difficult, emotional, and easily stressed. And he's never once seemed uncomfortable or troubled by him. And most of the hygienists and assistants we've seen are equally caring and patient people. His scheduling and billing department have always worked with me in a patient and caring way. WE LOVE HIM. I could NOT imagine my son having another dentist ever. If you have a child with special needs, Dr. Miller is THE dentist to go to. read more

If your kids have perfect teeth then this is probably a fine dentist office for you. However if your kids have cavities or need work done I would avoid this dentist at all costs. He has horrible bedside manner. He is incredibly rude, he will tell you what a perfect parent he is and how himself and his children have never had a cavity. Then he will accuse you of feeding your children only crap and does not do anything to make anyone feel comfortable or ok with upcoming treatments and plans. He is horrible at answering questions. He will treat your child for what's best for him not what's best for your child. There are much kinder and more talented dentists that can handle children and act in a manor that is fitting for a child's dentists. I have had multiple terrible experience here. I'm very thankful I decided to try a new dentist that's a much better fit for our family. I wish I would of never stepped foot in this office. My kids have been traumatized multiple times by this dentists. I hope this review safes someone else from making the same mistake I did in going here. We had a wonderful experience at the dentist today. The assistant were great with my 3 1/2 year old son and 1 1/3 year old daughter. My son has autism and has never done anything more than a cleaning before but because of the wonder staff and their patience he was able to get a cleaning, fluoride and even xrays! For example..Hes the go to guy when the local news wants interviews, How his kids never have had cavities..in his world he's better then everyone else. He's so arrogant & recommended putting our 4 and a half year old to sleep to cap his teeth. We got a second opinion somewhere else & so glad we did. My son didn't need to be put to sleep or have his teeth all capped!!The girls in the front and who clean teeth are the only plus about this place. read more

They were friendly and patient with my boys (2 and 4) for the normal cleaning /check up appointment. The second appointment was to fix a cavity with my 4 year old.
