I called 3 estimators for bringing the electrical up to code. This company not only offered a more convenient price but it is BBB acredited. I hired them, Matthew is a very hardworking person but, after the building department inspected the work a code violation was found on their work. I was told that, if I wanted the inspection to pass, I had to pay almost a thousand dollars more, otherwise they will not do the job. My questions are: - they don't know the electrical code în order to do a correct estimate in order the inspection to pass? -It is correct that I have to pay more, for their mistakes? I have to mention also that I signed the estimate in some electronic files and I asked to be added some comnentsthat I had, related to the price do not be changed. I asked for the files to be sent on email, and even I insisted to see my comments in these files but I never got the files with my comments. read more

My light in my dressing room suddenly failed so I looked to Yelp for an electrician. Boca Electrical Works had received 19 entries on Yelp with a rating of 4 stars. I called them and they sent out an electrician the very next day. His name is Joe and he quickly solved my electrical problems. He changed the light in question to an LED fixture. He adjusted my ceiling fan in my living room so that it now functions. He changed the bulbs on one of my porch lights that was incredibly difficult to access. He charged me $368.00 for these three projects. A little high but well worth the price to get rid of these inconveniences. Joe was friendly, neat and fast in his work. I called for an appointment. I was told that the initial fee of 79.00 was to check my breaker box and smoke detectors. I was having an issue with a high hat light. The tech attached a wire and the issue was resolved. He was writing up the bill and said the 79.00 fee was "just to come out". He never checked anything and was in my home for 15 minutes and charged $200.00. I contacted the owner and he called me back giving me a line about how all of his customers are like family. What an amazing experience. Fox electric did such a poor job on wiring our house in the canyons ( they do all the canyon houses so be careful). We had two separate employees come to our home and both we a pleasure to have. The were both very good at explaining and taking care of all the problems we have been having with our house. I emailed through Yelp and before I knew it, the owner of the company, Lou, emails back! Ok, good start. So I call up and they were able to move some things around and get a crew out same day. When it came to the cost, at first was a bit skeptical since there was an upfront fee to just come out and not knowing the total cost but after reading the reviews and needing this work done, gave it a shot. Joe and his apprentice came to the house and go right to diagnosing the problem. They showed me where on the price chart I would be looking at to fix the problem and assured me of no extra fees. They got to work and really did a thorough job of diagnosing what the problem was with the electrical system. They were up in the attic, garage and all over the house till they fixed all the problems. They were professional, courteous and most of all... personable. They not only explained the work but showed me as well. The price came out to be about what I thought it was, but for the time and effort they put in, more than worth it. FIVE STARS IS NOT ENOUGH!!!! Earlier this week our outdoor home lamp post was hit by lighting. With one quick after hours phone call the owner answered and was ready to dispatch a crew that evening, however we assessed the matter and decided to wait the next day. Our home is over 40 years old and there are always unexpected surprises when dealing with services related issues. We had to rewire a line from the fuse box to the refrigerator electrical outlet and this was not an easy fix, it took time and patience while they needed to open up the wall near the fuse box. Although the damage was not severe, it was enough to cause us to have an unsettling week. Once they completed their work you not could tell that we had any work done. They clean up, reattached and make certain that all is in perfect working condition before they leave. If you require electrical service - LOOK NO FURTHER. Wow!! I can't even begin to explain the tremendous job that Boca Electrical Works did in our home. We had a fuse issue and ended up needing to replace our entire panel. There was an issue with a wire so they had to open up the wall. Once they were done, you wouldn't even know that there was a huge hole in the wall. Shady Electrical Works is what this company should be re-named. I called up to see if I had an electrical problem with one of my rooms and the lady of the phone, Tanya tells me there will be a 65$ charge for an electrician to come out for a diagnotics. I say that's fine and gives me a time frame between 12-4 pm. Find out close to 5 after calling back and being assured someone was coming I get text saying they have to cancel and reschedule so I say that's fine and they come back at 10 the next morning. The guys come in and do 5 minutes of work and tell me its not an electrical problem and advise me I need a new light fixture. That 5-minute process cost 170 for a diagnostic. They then try to sell me on the insurance plan that costs 120 and they would "waive the 65 fee" in which they would have to come back again and charge me again just to install the light fixture. DO NOT USE, SHADY SERVICE, SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES THAT TRY TO FINESE YOU INTO SPEIND MORE THAN YOU NEED. read more

I had a problem with an outlet and possibly a blown fuse, so I called to get an estimate and was told that I had to pay $64 to have someone to come and check it out. I'm a 17yr condo owner and have been through this before, but usually the money goes towards coming out and diagnose the problem. When the guy shows up he says that to diagnose the problem it would cost over $365, so before anything would be fixed it would cost me close to $400! That's crazy!!!!!! He didn't look at the Electrical box or the outlet first which is easier than going to my dishwasher and try to pull it out of the wall. The dishwasher stopped working when the electrical outlet blew. I am not a stupid woman, but He made me feel that way. I promptly asked him to stop touching my dishwasher and that I would have to call my Dad for money which was a lie. I just knew that their prices were Ridiculous and with the quote that skyrocketed to over a Thousand dollars before looking at anything else I was done!
