This is my compromise with my wife to go to Trader Joe's across the street. It has to include a stop to Boca Grande Burritos. They have some great burrito combinations but my fall back is always build your own burrito. On top of having great burritos their queso is not only delicious but cheap. $6 for a bag of chips and a big dish of queso- awesome! The only complaint that I have is that the bowl looks small in comparison to the burrito. The burrito is the same size as Chipotle (with fresher and better ingredients), however the bowl is much smaller than Chipotle. My husband and I drive 30+ minutes at least once a month to eat here -- it's that good! Their specialty burritos, which change weekly, are always delicious, and the build-your-own burrito option is great too. We've never been disappointed. The staff is also fantastic -- very attentive and always on top of things. We'll definitely keep making the drive. The decor was really nice and cheery. Upon arriving we noticed that there was a nearby parking lot, so we had no issues finding parking. Upon entering we were quickly greeted by a friendly young man, who expanded some of their popular selections. So we ordered one chicken and one beef burrito, and we truly enjoyed everything we ordered. The burritos were very large and very plentiful. All the food was fresh and tasty. We also noticed that the restaurant was being maintained to the highest standard. The bathrooms were clean. Customer service was excellent and professional, which is rare these days. I found this restaurant because of the vegan option of the tofu dish. I got it as a bowl. I'm thinking that either the burritos are pretty small, or they just don't give you any extra rice and beans to accommodate for not getting the tortilla. There wasn't a whole lot to it. It was a pretty underwhelming meal that I could have easily assembled myself at home. Evening was basic, including the tofu. I wouldn't have thought that the two extras I got, a pinch of cilantro and about four rings of jalapenos would have cost an extra $.50 each. I added a San Pellegrino and that dang thing was close to $7! I'm not sure what the attraction is. read more

My daughter and I stopped by here as this was a place that I had on my list to visit. When we walked in, the young lady greeted us. We informed her that this was our first visit. She walked through the menu and gave us paper menus for us to go over. Once we decided on our items, we ordered. I got the chicken burrito and my daughter got a burrito bowl. We also ordered elote. The chicken burrito didn't have much flavor, and the corn in the elote seemed like it had been sitting and cooking a while. It was also sour...as if lime juice was put in it before being served. Not sour as in old or bad. I asked for some hot sauce for the burrito and I added a little salt and pepper. That worked for the burrito, but the elote was a lost. My daughter enjoyed her burrito bowl. All in all, I would return. They offer military discounts, which is a plus. I'm stupid for Mole sauce. I got a chicken burrito, crispy, and of course the side of Mole. Gotta say, I'm not typically a burrito guy, too much tortilla fills me up. This was really good. My first bite blew me away. We were looking for a good food spot on our way back to Greenville and when we saw a place that had gluten free burritos, we were set. Honestly, I was slightly disappointed to find out that you don't actually get a "burrito" with the gluten free option, but the bowl and gluten free tortillas were really great. I do wish there was one more tortilla with this order. I also used some of their hot sauce and it was the perfect addition. Upon entrance, one will feel intrigued by the decor and how it all feels complete. I ended up choosing to make my own burrito which seemed like a pretty good deal. The food came out after a couple minutes and I dug into what was one of the most delicious burritos I have had in a while. All the ingredients tasted fresh and collaborated together perfectly. Holy Fuacamole! Calling this the best tacos I've ever had might be the first thing my ex wife and I have agreed on since deciding to get a divorce. I looked up the best food in Columbia SC and the best tacos, and I've got to say my faith in Google search has been restored. No offense yelp. I got the beef brisket taco by recommendation of the guy working, and I was blown away. Chicken burrito was also great. I grabbed it on a road trip back to Atlanta and if It wasn't my time to have the dogs this week (because of the divorce) i might still be there eating tacos. I wasn't even a brisket guy! Overwhelmed by options I took a few pro tips from lady behind he counter. Once I saw I chorizo as an option I ordered a build your own burrito. Red rice , chorizo, salsa verde , crema , cilantro , white cheddar , and I ordered it crispy. You must ordered the hot temperature dipping sauces to enhance the burrito experience. The mole was super velvety chocolaety with a mild heat that poured onto my burrito bite after bite. During my lunch at least two people stopped by to see if I needed anything. Met one of the owners and discussed the menu and their future plans. This place beat my expectations. read more

Every time we come here the food is delicious. The mole dip is 3$ and so worth it for the quantity. We get one for the whole family and drizzle it on our burritos. They have fun kids meal options that include good fresh fruit (berries and grapes). And the specials are always rotating new amazing flavors in. The customer service is so fantastic. You are always greeted by someone smiling and helpful. The place is clean and decorated super cute. Your food is made quickly and brought to your table. They go out of their way to do all sorts of nice extra things (bring waters to your table, grab napkins, etc). When it was our daughter's birthday she chose this as her special dinner. Alright, alright I came on the opening weekend way back in April before they got a Yelp so I'm late to review/. This one was a hard one for me. I really, really wanted to like it, but it's just not for me. Here's the break down: 1. Super friendly service and the owner broke down the entire menu for us. You order at the register and you do get to customize your burrito a fair amount. 2. Chips and Salsa just weren't good. The chips tasted store bought (I don't know if they are) and the salsa wasn't my type of salsa. I like a bright red and runny salsa, and this was darker (possibly chipotle based) and chunkier. 3. The killer for me. The chicken burrito was hard to eat. It's shredded chicken and I thought it would be chopped chicken (like most do). My first couple of bites threw me off a lot with it. I could tell the chicken was scooped into the burrito with a scoop and that just grossed me out. The chicken was a grey color and really wet. Like...super soaker wet. If you think about it, eating a soft burrito with really soft/mushy chicken is really off putting. It honestly had the consistency of what I would think wet cat food tastes like. 4. A lot of people on Yelp are dinging them for being expensive and I don't think so. All the burritos are 8/9 dollars. That's a dollar more than Moe's or Chipotle and obviously they have better ingredients (just ones I'm not a fan of). So yeah, would I recommend Boca Grande? Actually, possibly. Their food just wasn't for me. I don't eat beef, so I assume if you're going to get a beef burrito that would be better. I love shredded chicken, just not when it's grey and mushy. That might be some people's thing. My wife had a tofu burrito and she said it was okay. She said it needed a bit more spice. read more

The beef burrito was excellent and contained rice, black beans, corn relish Along with other things. They asked if I would like it steamed or slightly grilled. I had it, steamed. I'd order it again next time to. My wife suggested that they should serve it inside one of their cardboard boxes like to do the chicken burrito bowls, Because it's sort of oily and drips out of the aluminum foil when you're eating it. The chips and salsa are extra and They have three different types of sauce or you can order. I wish they had queso dip, but I didn't see it. Great place, good service, and good food. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat in the middle of a busy lunch hour. The service was quick and they had someone going around with a mobile to help the line move quicker.
