Service is top notch with more than 3-4 waiting staff to come by our table to fill our water and ask how everything was. Very friendly hosts and inviting atmosphere was great ambiance to a long day of travel. My wife and I were stuffed after our meal so we made it a point to come back the next night for the delicious Oreo Dessert. Talk about Amazing and Yumminess; this is a must have. This placed used to be my favorite spot to eat close to my house and with a variety of good food and services. I stopped going like 3 months ago due work,school but I stooped by today and they have a diferrent menu ,staff and I would said chefs too. Our server was amazing great customer services.however food quality and taste when down 100% their steak used to be a premium quality and with no fat. Today our steak was chewy with a lot fat ,hard and overcooked. The place was not full so wasnt a excuse for it. This is my first time visiting Miami, and I couldn't have found a better place to try some Venezuelan food for the first time than Bocas Grill. The service was amazing, and our server Franklin did an outstanding job helping us, as it was our first time, and being very kind and energetic. I ordered Arepa with shredded beef and shredded yellow cheese, rice with beef and shrimp (Arroz Al Wok Especial Mixto), and chicha. After all 3 dishes, I was filled to the brim but very happy. Ordering an arepa is a must when you visit Bocas Grill, very unique and delicious. I wouldn't usually expect much from rice with proteins, but Arroz Al Wok surprised me well - very colorful palette of tastes. And chicha was more of a desert - a must tho if you have a sweet tooth or like to indulge in mildly sweet drinks once in a while (like me). If you're visiting Brickell or specifically Vizcaya museum try out Bocas Grill - wonderful vibes and great restaurant. You wont regret it! read more

Very disappointed, this place was highly recommend to me since the fiancee is from Venezuela. The seating arrangement is poor, asked the hostess for a better table only to find out she doesn't speak English. I even offer her $50.00 for a better table still didn't understand English. I order a hamburger. It was in an oversized bun, the server gave me mustard and ketchup packet. I felt like I was at a Marlin Park. Next time I will go to Flanigan's. Once again very disappointed. Made a mother's day eve reservation, arrived on time only to be told there are too many reservations and we cannot be seated at the larger tables. So these people got nearly closed by COVID, were incentivized by the government, and are now overbooking to just make as much money as possible, turned my Saturday night into an unpleasant time. Over the course of the past weeks I've been in dialogue with the owner of this location regarding my previous experience. He has been respectful and kind in each exchange. I appreciate how he cares about his customers experience enough to take action. He offered me and my party a generous gift receipt to come back to the restaurant. The opportunity presented itself for the group to get together aNd visit this past weekend. The one thing that we can unanimously agree on is that the food is very tasty. The staff still has a lot of training and work to do, but the experience today was nothing like the previous. Another recommendation, is for the establishment to proof read the menu and make sure that what they have available at the location correlates with the city. The reason I say this is because the menu shows plates that are only available in Orlando, FL. This experience was so significantly better and I'll restate it, my big pain point with the initial review was the premise on which the upgrade occurred and it's cost. My fav dish continues to be the Chaufa rice. And I really like the steak that was used for the green plantains (far better than the New York strip steak). The churro dessert was delicious. My wife ordered the pasta and it was decent, nothing out of the ordinary. My arepa was ok, a little small and the meat was a bit chewy. Our waiter was very nice and overall did a good job. First time I visit this restaurant was in Doral location and to be honest the food was good but not to crazy about the restaurant inside neither location. Now the new location close to Brickell is fantastic, really spacious with outside sitting, parking is not an issue since the Vallet in the building is next to the entrance and it is complementary. Food is delicious. I have been few times and tried different dishes, everything from pabellón, tallarines, parrilla, arepa to tequenos are really good. If you have a sweet tooth, you must reserve space for dessert, the signature of this restaurant and of course chicha (made of rice and condense milk with a touch of cinnamon) is a must. read more

Mixto de wok(not sure if that's the right name): you have the option of picking two protein and two sides. Ordered it with chicken and beef. Good amount of both and sauce they were in was tasty. Sautéed onions and tomatoes were great. The rice with beans was quite delicious as well. Also ordered the mashed potatoes, which was decent. Cocinero burger: tasty burger patty. The beef was steak quality and came with a nice guacamole/chimichurri sauce. Fries were generously portioned. The bun is a bit subpar and I wasn't in love with the cheese they used. Oreo Churro milkshake: Almost didn't have room for this dessert because we ate so much and so well, but I would definitely recommend ordering this! A little messy but worth it because it's so tasty. It comes with oreos, Nutella, churros and ice cream. One of the better cookies and cream milkshakes that I've had. Espresso: nice, intense espresso.
