I had a bad experience here that the owner got removed but never actually address with me. I ordered to go, but they would not let me eat at the restaurant while I was there waiting for two other people who had brought with me. It was their first time there and we were not allowed to eat outside on the wooden benches nor are we allowed to eat inside while we were waiting for one person. There were only five people in the restaurant on a Saturday at lunchtime, but yet we were never allowed to stay while we waited for our food so we could go back to our office and get back to work. The manager said it was against the rules to eat at the restaurant if you order to go, which makes sense but they weren't busy at all. We were looking for a burger place and google sent us to Burger Fusion 305 which ended up being el Patio 305. Looks like this is 2 restaurants in one because there are separate menus and the server even had two different devices to take the orders on. We were the only ones there, and the services was pretty quick although the food took a while to come out and came out at different times. We ended up ordering from the El Patio 305 menu which is Colombian food. My boyfriend had a Bandeja Paisa with churrasco El Patio 305 style which came giant tostones, papa asad, half an arepa, chorizo, and morcilla (which you can switch for a second serving of chorizo, and he was not impressed. He did have a lemonade that he said was really good. I had a bandeja paisa with chicken, and have to agree the meal was underwhelming. The chicken was pretty salty, so I cut a piece of maduro to eat with each bite and that helped. The pork rinds were hard as a rock. The one thing we both agreed was good were the red beans, they were thick and had a great flavor. All in all, we went for the burgers ended up having Colombian food, it was ok but not likely that we will be back. read more

This is a solid family restaurant! So much so that I went twice this weekend! Tucked into a corner of Coral Way and just off 22nd Avenue, I stopped in Saturday while on my morning jog. Around that time, I was one of maybe three other customers and stopped to watch the world cup. I sat down, almost in line with their very large screen TV and watched France beat Belgium while enjoying their timely water refills (I was working out), sweet fried plantains and a generously larged, well done pollo a la plancha (grilled chicken breast). Of course, I also enjoyed an espresso. Fast forward to taking mima to lunch Sunday. When I was there Saturday, I saw mostly families and mom prefers typical Latin comfort food dishes. Today, I did indulge! We were attended by the same friendly staff and got a nice corner table also with view of the TV. World Cup matches had finished, and they were nice enough to change the channel so that I could watch the NFL games (Go Dolphins!!) My Sunday supper was their Churrasco. A very large piece of smoky flavored meat that covered a lot of plate real estate (and had to take half as takeout), complemented with three large crispy tostones and their red bean soup (frijoles Colorado) all indulged my palate as the Dolphins win indulged my sports fandom. The egg on the steak ("a caballó") was nice and runny for extra flavor and protein. Why would I leave steak? Well their yuca fries were nice and crispy; put together with Papa Colombiana (a baked potato with a melted cheese sauce) was too good to skip. Eminently respectable Colombian food. I ate well. * * * The rest of my party ordered various forms of steak or grilled meat plates. Steaks are the small thin marinated ones common to South American cooking. Most plates featured very good versions of chicarrones. My family was all pleased. * * * I went with a choripan which is a Colombian hot dog. Or more precisely a Colombian sausage in a hot dog bun with potato sticks on top plus melted cheese plus two different kinds of sauce. That was one fine fine fine fine hot dog. * * * Although it does not say so on the menu. Any hot dog like dish here will come with enough French fries to feed a second grade classroom. You will NOT go hungry. Me not knowing about the French fries ordered maduros and a salad. The waitress brought me their Caesar salad which is a family plate big enough to feed TWO second grade classrooms. (The amount of salad is about the same as the amount of French fries, but second graders eat more French fries than they do salad.) I had about six weeks of food there. For a minute, I thought I was in Havana Harry's. The side dishes were all pleasant enough but basic for what they were. With one exception. Caesar salads in Colombia have flat squares of a salty slightly bitter cheese and an alternative version of a Thousand Island dressing. The alt dressing and the alt cheese go together just fine. This is one good salad well worth having again. * * * The Choripan is a total destination dish. The side accompaniments are completely pleasant for what they are. I would eat here again happily. Note that just one dish will hold you even if they call it an antojo. White boxes exist for those who succumb to temptation. read more

This was my second time coming here because I truly enjoyed the food. But was disappointed with the service as our waitress Fatima was trying to upsell the plates in the menu and after we told her what we wanted and I look at the receipt when I got home she up charged us two plates that we did not ask for. And when I asked her to confirm before we asked for the receipt she mentioned that plate was what we asked for but what we asked for was a carne asada and she put el patio churrasco a whole $10 difference. As well as, the bandeja paisa she placed el típico 305. We just did not want to return it as it was already served to us and felt bad tossing out food. And then she tried to say her tip was only $9 when you can see here it was $21 and included. I do not appreciate trying to get gipped by someone. I wanted some good Colombian food . I stumbled on El Patio 305. They are located conveniently off of US1 . Not too far from Coral Gables. We got there around 2 pm , you can sit anywhere . We were immediately attended too . Our food came out nice and hot . The food was delicious. I had the Chicken Milanese and we also order Bandeja Paisa. Which you can honestly never go wrong with either choices . I also ordered an extra side of tostones , which were so well cooked and crispy . The also had live music which honestly was so refreshing to hear . It really sets the mood for a relaxing moment with great food . The two ladies that played were amazing . I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone . If you are looking for authentic Colombian food with a relaxing mood then this is the place for you. This place used to be great prior to the new management. They now have almost the same menu however everything including food quality and service has gone down. The service is bad and it is obvious that the servers do not want to be there. My server today was annoyed that I didn't want to purchase a beverage. She also took it upon herself to give me the more expensive cut of meat which wasn't what I asked for. I wish it would've at least been worth the additional cost. We love el Patio 305 it used to be Monserrate before and it was such as good. Whenever we feel like having colombian food this is our place to order from. This time around we had mojarra frita with rice and beans, ajiaco which comes with white rice and an empanada colombiana same as the pescado frito, we also ordered una arepa com queso, two lulo juice and a guanabana one. Everyday was great the mojarra frita was huge and delicious , their ajiaco is always on point , its my husband favorite colombian dish and their empanadas are the besttt ... As per the juices i dont know what happened but they were as tasty as before but well it can happen. Love this place and well keep ordering to support the small business. As per the pictures i guess i was in a hurry to eat and took them very fast and well they did not come out as planned. read more

Please do not order form this place, management expects customers to magically know what each dish includes, ordered over uber eats and does not specified that sauces and cheese are toppings that they actually put on top prior to shipping your food. I am lactose intolerant. Called the restaurant and the manager said that I have to ask for a refund over the app. To complete the really poor customer service, he told me "there is no one's fault" I am sorry but lactose intolerance is more common than other allergies and as a restaurant you should disclose what kind of toppings you put on the food specially for deliveries. Wow a great find on Coral Way! Lunch is great and not expensive. The ambiance is quiet and unassuming but the food is great! We had the sobrebarriga with papa chorriada ( see pic) which was great the empanadas were as well the beer was cold and the fruit juices were fresh. I recommend El Patio 305. read more

The best way to get the best service and the best food at this place is to walk in and drop a "Pues que?" or scream "Hola como estas". The waiting staff is definitely English language impaired, but if you say something in Spanish, they may want to take you under their wing in this Paisa adventure. If, on the other hand, you speak Spanish, or are smart enough to have someone who speaks Spanish with you, things turn out for the better. These people are the friendliest ones on earth. They will call you "hermano", and they will joke with you. They may also forget about you, but once you regain their attention, they will make you laugh some more. To anyone who has experienced the window of any Cuban cafeteria where people talk politics, sports, art, and smuggling someone illegally in the country, this is it. This location is one of many other Monserrate restaurants, and when it comes to the food, it is all the same. Exactly the same. The difference is in the location and the architecture. This particular one is lounge like, with a modern feel, Scandinavian styled walls covered in light colored wood, and a dark granite countertop bar. There are several TV screens showing sports most of the time. On the food side of things, well, it is on the decent side of things. The bandeja paisa is good, although the beans and the steak are just OK. The sancocho is good also, but memorable flavors are not all there. The empanada is good, the arepa is good, all the other dishes are good, but I feel that Monserrate kind of walks away from the simplicity and commonality of Paisa cuisine, and dilutes the flavors in an attempt to make things more mainstream. A few locations later, I think it's working for them. Bravo. The reason why I come here, and the reason for the four stars, is a dish called "Ajiaco Santaferreño", which is a potato based soup, with chicken, capers and heavy cream. It is served with a side of rice. That is one of the few dishes that gets me high and momentarily makes me trust strangers. It is specially delicious if you add the green hot sauce nestled in one of two pottery containers at every table. Before I finish, this place has another plus. It is kid friendly. Very kid friendly. Not only are kids happy with their meal, but they get the attention of waiters, whom magically communicate with the young ones. Also, if you like soccer, this spot most likely is showing a live game from some league around the world in one of the many TV screens. All in all, it comes down to getting Colombian culture and appreciating it. If you leave and you are not singing "Subete a la piragua" or "Oiga, mire, vea", well, you just didn't get it. read more

I've been here so many times since I was introduced earlier this year. It's good food at a good price, and you can usually be seated quickly. Make sure to try a classic Colombian drink called Refajo (half colombian beer mixed with half colombian soda). There is happy hour until 7pm, so make sure to take advantage of it :) For food, the following are very good: Beef Empanadas - have them with lime and the green sauce on the table Chicharron Picado Salchipapas Bandeja Paisa Calentado Snapper Huevos fritos, arroz, y maduros (my personal favorite!) Amazing food. I loved it all. I tried the ajiaco and wow .... I was amazed by the delicious flavor and seasoning it had. Not too salty, just right. La sopa de carne was delicious as well and it honestly was my FAVORITE dish of all the ones I had. I also had their calentado that was great. The taste, the combination of the chicharron, beans and rice was very good and I've had calentado, but not like that before. It was good, not too overpacked and not soggy like in other restaurants. The sweet plantains were soft and at a delicious point. If you are coming here, try out the Ajiaco that blew me away. The food and service is always good. We have been several times for lunch and find it to be a good neighborhood restaurant. However it's a pity in this day and age they serve drinks in styrofoam cups, food in disposable plates and plastic utensils. What's the point in using a paper liner over a paper plate? Beyond the carbon footprint it is really cumbersome to eat rice and beans off a wet wrinkled paper. Don't believe it's for Covid reasons because they are still using real plates and glasses sometimes. The food is below average and the restaurant itself not pleasing to the senses in the most basic sense. When we arrived we had to ask for for the floor and banquette seating to be cleaned. Then the food order arrived at different times and one of the orders was incorrect so we had to wait again. The dish I ordered was the mondongo soup, a traditional Colombian dish. It was the worst I ever had. It tasted stale and the mondongo was over cooked. My husband offered to switch meals but it was no better. The server was pleasant but did not get the order right and though I made my daughter try it anyway because we don't like to throw away food she still wouldn't eat it. This place has a great potential, it has a good location, BUT needs valet parking since parking on Coralway is very limited. We got there and they had live music (which needed life itself) no hostess even though there's a sign that says wait to be seated. We sat in a table, asked for tequeños for appetizer which we never got (again the chef was watching the game). Food is great, not AMAZING but very good. The yelp deal for checking in is worth grabbing too. So I love the bandeja paisa. Typically it should include a variety of meats and plantains, rice, egg, and avocado. I've had it in 2 places in Miami, and this was the better of the two. Though not as good as in Medellin. They have lots of good dishes, though miss a few that are only served certain days like ajiaco soup. On evenings when the neighboring church is closed you are also allowed to park for free in their lot. So save your meter money! read more

I only order from this place when I can go to pick up the food, but today I order a delivery because it was raining and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes for the delivery to arrive.
