I don't even know where to start. We have been coming to this restaurant for almost 10 years. We celebrated here many birthdays, anniversaries etc. yesterday, we had the worst experience we ever had in a restaurant, and we are dinning A LOT outside. Me, my kids, their spouses, we are all love to go out, go to restaurants, and we eat outside 3-4 times a week. Yesterday, was a disaster. My granddaughter had a 4 years old birthday, we had a guest from out of state, and we wanted to celebrate an early Father's Day, so my daughter made a reservation 3 weeks ago (!) for 14 people. She mentioned it's a birthday, and we would like to sit close to the lake. Two days before our reservation, on Thursday, my daughter and I came to eat lunch here, and she asked the hosts again, to make sure we will be seated in front of the water. That's why we are coming here. He said he will add a note to our reservation. Yesterday, on Saturday, we arrived on time, and we were surprised to see, that not only our table is not in front of the water, it is the last table at the restaurant, next to the hosts stand, not far from the restroom. You can not even see the lake, or piece of it. You are literally siting next to the kitchen, to the hosts stand, all the way at the end. My daughter went to talk to the manager, Sayvni. She told her we had reservation 3 weeks ago, we came 2 days ago to ask again to sit near the water, and asked her to let us sit closer. She didn't want to help. There were 2 round table ,next to each other, first row to the water, with 8 chairs in one of them, and 6 in the other one. Both not occupied. We asked her to be sitted here. She said no. She couldn't care less. We were so disappointed, so frustrated, but we didn't have any choice, so we sat at the last table they prepared for us. If you think that is all, you are wrong. Our waiter introduce herself, brought us drinks and food for the kids, but disappear for more than 30 minutes. We had to ask for water from other waiters. The entrees we ordered didn't arrive for more than 50 min(!). No one came to say something, no one cared. We were just sitting there waiting , wondering what to do. We ended up canceling all the dishes. We were already late to the next place we had to go. We left hungry. It was really such a bad bad experience, especially because we had our guest, especially because of my granddaughter birthday, and especially because we wanted to celebrate Father's Day to all the fathers in our family. I was expecting to be impressed, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. The service was underwhelming from the start. Simple requests, like asking for straws, had to be repeated multiple times, and overall attentiveness was lacking. One thing that was particularly disappointing was that we visited during lunch and asked if the kitchen could make the beef stroganoff from the dinner menu for three people. The restaurant was not busy, but the request was declined. While I understand menus and kitchen policies exist, a little flexibility would have gone a long way. As for the food, it was just average. We ordered the French dip, which lacked flavor and wasn't particularly memorable. The Caesar salad was good. Surprisingly, the desserts were better than the entrées and were the highlight of the meal. Hello Friends and Fellow Foodies, Five Stars All The Way!+ I have to say, these days it's becoming harder and harder to find a restaurant that delivers both outstanding food and exceptional service. Too often, one or the other falls short. However, my experience yesterday at Bocaccio's on the Lake in Westlake Village was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The service was outstanding the moment we walked through the door. We were seated immediately, and within minutes, the staff had brought fresh water with lemon, warm bread, butter, olive oil, vinegar, and Parmesan cheese. The attention to detail and level of hospitality were impressive. Our server was friendly, attentive, professional, and provided excellent service throughout the entire meal. As for the food, it was simply phenomenal. I ordered the Beef Stroganoff Pasta, which featured tender filet mignon and an incredibly rich, flavorful sauce. In all honesty, it was the best beef stroganoff pasta I have ever had. The side of sour cream elevated the dish even further and brought everything together perfectly. We also ordered the Chicken Parmesan, served with spaghetti and meat sauce. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the flavors were outstanding. It was a classic Italian dish executed exceptionally well. Since we weren't drinking alcohol that day, we ordered the Passion Fruit Iced Tea. It was refreshing, delicious, and beautifully presented with fresh orange slices. A perfect complement to the meal. To top it all off, the weather was gorgeous, the lake views were stunning, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. The pricing was also very fair by today's standards. The Beef Stroganoff was around $28, and the Chicken Parmesan was approximately $32--both excellent values considering the quality of the food, service, and dining experience. Overall, Bocaccio's delivered one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. Great food, outstanding service, beautiful scenery, and reasonable prices. Been to Boccaccio's several times. Love the view and food selection. Don't know why it always pisses me off when I get the handheld credit card machine the waiter always selects the 25% tip selection right when he gives me the machine and stands right there so he can see me hit approve and sign. Yes, I can choose the 20% but still, he should not be hitting the 25%. Service was good but not great. I rather give the 25%+ to the chef cause the food was delicious. I went there this past weekend and had the following: Steak and Fries - cooked perfectly - Medium Rare. juicy and tender Spaghetti Primavera - very tasty Cesar Salad with Chicken - Definitely my favorite, lots of tasty tender chicken. What a great experience! We came out for Valentine's Day weekend and expected it to be very busy, but luckily it wasn't bad at all. My boyfriend made reservations, which definitely helped. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted nicely and seated right away. We decided to sit outside because they have a beautiful view of the lake, and the outdoor heaters made it perfect for dinner. The patio looks so pretty with lots of seating and chandeliers running through the middle, making it feel very nice and fancy. The service was amazing. Our waiter took great care of us, answered all our questions, and gave us the best food recommendations. For appetizers, we ordered the clams. They were okay--not my favorite, but not terrible either. They were marinated in a lemon sauce but were lacking a little flavor. For the main course, I couldn't decide between the lobster ravioli and the seafood soup. I asked our waiter what he recommended, and he said the lobster ravioli--and when I say it didn't disappoint, I MEAN THAT. It was one of the best raviolis I've had in a long time. So creamy and flavorful, I would come back just for that dish. My boyfriend ordered his usual ribeye steak with potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly and very tender. I do wish it came with mashed potatoes instead of roasted potatoes, but it was still good. At the end, we got the dessert menu, and how could I say no? Wanted to take my lovely Bride/Mom out for early Mother's Day Brunch to one of our favorite locations. Boccacio's is right on Lake Westlake and offers such a beautiful atmosphere for any meal or occasion. Started out with Cuppacino's and enjoyed the peaceful lake views before our food was served. A great brunch menu is offered from 9:00am to 2:00pm with plenty of delizioso choices. Our dishes came out hot and plenty by our server John, very friendly and ready to offer any assistance you need to make your meal perfecto. We have dined here many times but I truly enjoy Brunch here the most, they do offer inside dining and during the colder seasons here in So Cal they put up enclosed patio dining with heaters, but we do enjoy dining anytime of day al fresco. Great full bar options as well as wine is offered but may I suggest dining al fresco on the patio to enjoy the beautiful views of the lake, it really makes the dining experience memorable. So mediocre it's painful. Grimy and disheveled. Outdoor heaters are all dented and scratched, umbrellas are old, dirty and banged up. The plastic foul weather curtains were tied up haphazardly and uneven, most of the straps were broken so they used an assortment of other things to tie them up. Floor grimy, bathroom filthy. Saw one staff member do his business and walk out without washing his hands. I mention all of this because the restaurant isn't cheap and with the stuff I could see being unkempt and dirty, I got the creeps thinking about what the kitchen looked like. (I didn't get sick from it) Food tastes like it's straight out of the Cisco truck bag. No flavor. Glop salad dressing. Temu service. Very friendly, but insubstantial. Very disappointed in our experience on Father's Day. Food quality from the starters to the desserts was horrible. Bland flavors, mediocre service, and a joke of dessert. The ambiance is always nice here but the food quality was far below our expectations. We've gone several times and usually the food is good (not great). On Father's Day however they hit a new low. Pastas were horrible, chicken tenders for the kids were burned, the Chilean Seabass at $81! was unedible. On top of everything our party of 10 was rushed out to seat another group. Sadly, i've had two disappointing visits in a row to what once was my favorite restaurant. I live close by so I go there quite frequently and my husband entertains clients there as well. The last two times I've gone, I was seated at surprisingly bad tables, even though on my last trip I expressed to the host that it was a special occasion. The food was good as usual, and we received our food quickly, but had almost finished our meal before we received our drinks. I really like this restaurant have been there many times. I will never ever go there again on a so called holiday. We went there father's day had a reservation for six and they gave away our table and then gave us some table in the back almost in the parking lot. For the menu it was fixed and the prices were inflated times 2. And for items there were minimal choice you would expect and the antipaste was for a table of two to be honest. We did make a lunch reservation just a day in advance and it was not super busy when we arrived so it's likely possible to come by without a reservation. Our service was quick though we had very long breaks in between seeing our server come and go. Clementine Spritz 4/5, this is their twist on an aperol spritz. My only dilemma here is I couldn't taste any major clementine-ness so it just felt like an average aperol spritz. Definitely heavy hand pour though Beef Carpaccio 4/5, this was soft and melted in our mouths. I will say we did not know this dish comes raw and had some food related issues later that may have been related to this so ,, just be aware ,,,, Grilled Lamp Chops 5/5, I got this and wow. The meat is soft and tender (I ordered medium) and the asparagus is soft and melts in your mouth. Potatoes are average. Portion wise this is on the slightly smaller side so please be aware Sesame Crusted Big Eye Ahí Tuna 5/5, my mom got this and thoroughly enjoyed. The portion sizing of this is large and we took about half home to eat as another meal Baked Alaska 3/5, okay this was our first time ever trying baked Alaska and we were not huge fans :( it's essentially Neapolitan ice cream on a pie crust (?) the good news is this was free for my mom's birthday and was just okay but I definitely would not order this Italian Cheesecake 4/5, this was made with Ricotta vs a traditional cheesecake. What a beautiful day. Sam was our amazing server and all of the staff were attentive and very nice. Excellent team customer service. We started with drinks as I had an ice tea and my wife had a Mojito. The fresh bread an butter was delicious and nice and warm. We ordered the escargot and Ceasar Salad as appetizers. For our lunch entrees we both had the Dover sole plate which was absolutely fantastic. The veggies and fingerling potatoes complimented the sole and everything was perfect. Boccaccio's has been around for years, and it truly doesn't disappoint. I brought a group of friends here to celebrate a birthday, and it was the perfect spot for a special night out. We were seated on the patio with a gorgeous view of the sunset over the lake -- such a beautiful setting and great ambiance. The service was excellent from start to finish: attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced. Everything we ordered was delicious, but a few standouts: the Winter on the Lake cocktail was amazing (highly recommend), and the food was just as impressive. The crab cake was flavorful and perfectly done, the lobster bisque was rich and comforting, and the salmon piccata was excellent -- cooked perfectly with a great balance of flavors. The ambiance was beautiful. Right by the water was so nice and the service was great! The food overall was really good. We got the chicken parm and clam linguini. The chicken parm had great flavor and the perfect amount of breading. As for sauce, it could maybe have used a bit more sauce. The clam linguini had delicious clams on top and I couldn't stop eating them. As for the noodles and sauce, the noodles didn't necessarily absorb the sauce well so they weren't the most flavorful. Stay for the views, drinks, and appetizers, leave for everything else! Boccaccio's is located in westlake village and is adjacent to the lake. It has spectacular views, notably at sunset when we went. We started off with some cocktails and appetizers, including the fried ravioli and burrata. Both the cocktails and appetizers were delicious! They had a lot of flavor and the drinks were well balanced and flavorful. The entrees were a bit lacking. Although the eggplant parm was okay, the chicken in the chicken Alfredo and chicken parm were both dry and hard to eat. The service was friendly but very, very slow. It took a long time to place our orders between the appetizers and entrees. Although they were very attentive when we needed something like water refills, we were still there for two hours. Overall, I do recommend this place for the atmosphere for the lake and a nice cocktail hour but would head elsewhere for the main entrees. read more

One of the best dinners I had in a long time! The atmosphere is incredible especially with the sunset and paired well with all the delicious dishes they serve! We ordered different items for a table of 6 and they were all SO good. Got the shrimp scampi and I was surprised that the shrimp was so big. Seems like the price had increased since a year ago so I'm not sure if the price is worth it. Lots of parking and it didn't take us long to find one despite it being a holiday weekend. Am only giving it a 4/5 because it took quite a bit for food to come by, service was a little slow but we came by for dinner the day before Father's Day so that might be the explanation. My wife attended a conference in Thousand Oaks. I went with her from Seattle to spend time with friends who live nearby. We all went to Boccaccio's our first evening there. Our three friends all were very familiar with the place. Boccaccio's has a good reputation. Unfortunately it was 96 degrees there the day we arrived and a major part of the attraction is sitting outside by Westlake. Our server was a distinguished gentleman who clearly knew his craft. Couldn't ask for better. We ordered veal, shrimp and scallops pastas and beet salads. Everything was well prepared however I was not particularly hungry due to the heat. We ended up with lots of leftovers. Normally I prefer low key, family ethnic restaurants over corporate ones. Still Boccaccio's was a good spot for us to bring our friends and thank them for hosting us. I don't live in the area but even if I did I probably wouldn't go back very often. Probably some of the best Italian cuisine I've had in this part of the country, the food at Boccaccio's is awesome. Big portions with super fresh ingredients and colorful presentation make every dish a delight to enjoy. To start off my meal, I enjoyed the rolls with butter. These had just the right amount of chewiness to them and a crust that was perfect. The crab cakes were perfectly crisp with delicious blue crab and a sweet chili aoili to add just the right amount of sweetness and spiciness to the dish. The bruschetta was super fresh is a delicious balsamic vinegar and incredibly juicy tomatoes. The burrata caprese is a fantastic starter. I could not believe how creamy the mozzarella was nor how incredibly juicy the heirloom tomatoes were. The basil matched perfectly with a delicious aged balsamic. For me, this might have been the most memorable dish I had all night. The linguini pasta supremo was huge with plenty of chicken, shrimp, and italian sausage. I felt that the garlic and olive oil was a bit light in flavor even with the chili flakes, but was so full from the rest of my meal that this was really just a bonus. Despite being full, the tiramisu was worth bringing in my dessert stomach for extra capacity. As expected, the marscapone was exceptionally fluffy and the entire dish was well balanced in flavor, without being too sweet. The fresh berries on the side matched well with all the elements, and the presentation was wonderful. Overall, worth a visit for some delicious Italian food. My husband and I met friends here for a birthday get-together. It's hard not to be taken in by a restaurant on the lake, especially when seated outdoors. Cool sightings of locals stepping off boats to grab takeout for dockside meals. We ordered calamari, lobster bisque, cioppino with linguini and ample seafood, rib eye steak and NY Strip. The meals were tasty and served with warm sourdough bread, but our friend had to send his ribeye back twice before it was prepared properly. Went here for a large family brunch and had gotten it to where they had an omelet station along with buffet style food. The patio gives off a beach atmosphere where it is very large and looks nice. Food was great especially the French toast was super tasty and cooked perfectly. The chicken piccata was a bit of a miss because it didn't look appetizing nor taste that great either. We made a reservation in advance for our anniversary at Boccaccio's because we wanted to try a new Italian restaurant in the area. When arriving, the restaurant is situated in a little center by a Yacht Club on the Westlake Lake. This restaurant is definitely more of an "upscale" kind of restaurant, which we guessed based on the area it was in. There is plenty of parking in the lot, and the restaurant is only a short walk through the center of the businesses around it. There is a lot of seating, some with views of the lake. We checked in and we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving, and we arrived 20 minutes earlier than our reservation time. The host was very friendly, as well as all of the servers and restaurant staff. Our server greeted us and took our drink order and brought it out very quickly. We were ready to order and he took our order and let us know they would be by to bring some bread and butter out. A couple of minutes passed and the bread was brought out, as we conversated and put the butter on our rolls, our food came out! I would say it was less then 5 minutes from placing our order! We ordered the Chicken Parmigiana which consisted of: Breaded chicken, mozzarella cheese & marinara sauce served with spaghetti and meat sauce. The dish looked perfect and they offered us some freshly grated parmesan cheese to top the dish, we both obliged! We started with tasting the rolls with butter and my goodness, these rolls were DELICIOUS! We knew we were going to enjoy our meal! We then cut into the chicken, and it was breaded perfectly with a nice crisp and still juicy. The flavors of the sauce, mozzarella cheese and chicken were phenomenal. The side of spaghetti was tossed in a meat sauce, and the sauce had chunks of tomatoes which burst in your mouth with flavor! The spaghetti was cooked al dente and was a perfect accompaniment to the chicken which was the star of the show. For dessert we ordered the Baked Alaska which is: Almond cookie crust with chocolate, vanilla, strawberry & pistachio ice cream topped with flaming meringue and the Crème Brûlée Served warm with fresh berries and homemade biscotti. The Baked Alaska was something like we've never had before! They set the meringue on fire and it melts down the ice cream. The flavors were so delicious of the ice creams as well as the almond cookie crust. The Crème Brûlée had the PERFECT caramelization on top and once you broke through it led you to a custard. The only thing I would say that it could have had more of a creamy vanilla bean flavor for me, but other than that it was perfect. The service was excellent there, everyone was so professional. You were surrounded by so many people enjoying their company and most importantly, eating great food! We loved that we never had to ask for a refill, our server was very attentive! Solid Italian restaurant in the Westlake Village area. Boccaccio's is located in the The Landing plaza in Westlake Village. My fiance and I went for an early Valentine's Day dinner. The sun was already down, but I imagine that the view of the lake would have been spectacular if we went during the day. For starters, we shared the Beef Carpaccio. For entrees, we ordered the Veal Oscar and the Striped Lobster Ravioli. The Carpaccio was surprisingly good, and it disappeared within 5 minutes of receiving it. We both enjoyed the Veal Oscar, but the Lobster Ravioli definitely stole the show. The cream sauce was delicious, and it paired well with the side of mashed potatoes that my fiance ordered. For dessert, we ordered the Baked Alaska, which rounded everything out. Overall, this was a good restaurant and experience, albeit a little pricey.
