The server and service was 10/10 amazing but their food and drinks were not good. I got the sausage Cavatelli alla Norcina, and the cocktail 'Italiano 75'. They both tasted strange. The Cavatelli barely had any sausage, only about 3 thinly sliced bits, and had an overbearing tangy aftertaste. The Italiano 75 drink tasted like a rubber tire. Perhaps it was the items I ordered, I will try other menu items next time. We had a party of 8, called in to notify them, they told us to just come in because they don't take reservations. OK, we show up, they tell us it is a wait of 45 minutes and the hostess said "You know you call and make reservations" Not sure what the disconnect was, perhaps hostess was new (?)

We had dinner with family and friends here one evening and it was fantastic! We ordered the Tagliatelle Al Ragu (slow braised beef and pork pasta), Cavatelli alla Norcina (grilled sausage with truffle sauce pasta) and the Grilled Whole Branzino. All the dishes were fantastic, you can't go wrong with any of them. The pastas were al dente with that soft chewy texture. The sauces were so flavorful and just right! The grilled branzino had the light crispiness to it and soft flaky meat. You start off with a bread basket that was perfectly toasted and soft. The staff and service were top notch! Very friendly and attentive. Our waitress was the best! Always checking in on us and giving us recommendations! The restaurant was very clean with its modern decor. Plenty of seating inside and outside on the patio. The only thing is the parking, you either valet or park on the street, which can be slim at times. We will definitely come back to try more delicious food! Happy Nom Nom!

My friend wanted to try Basta because he saw they offer 2 and even 4 pound steaks. We come in and right by the host area we see the dry age steak fridge with some pretty tasty looking options. Once we're seated we let the waiter know we're in the mood for a ribeye over t-bone. He brings over the remaining options they have for the night. Overall the food, and service were great. It was cool getting to select the actual cut of steak that you wanted, then the server slicing it up perfectly once it's done.

W had heard good things about Basta and we weren't disappointed! Great date night spot for delicious authentic Italian food and great service and atmosphere. Danielle was out server.. and he was training someone else. He was welcoming and very efficient. The servers work as a team to keep water glasses filled and bring out the steaming hot food... We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and are planning when to return in the near future!

Have had their food a few times (take outs) over the years but first time dining in. Ordered multiple of our usuals, but first time pizza. Wow, idk if it was me, but all the usuals are not as good as I remembered them, except that mushroom pizza was great. Their complimentary bread was cold and rock hard imo, but appreciate them still offering it. Solid service, nice interior decor.

Street parking with relatively easy. Descendent to randomly come in for dinner and was promptly greeted/shown a table. The ambience outside and inside is great. Very modern with a nice vibe. Not too loud inside yet still a decent amount of noise considering there's usually a lot of people dining in. Had the aged ribeye and Mak and cheese. The complementary bread is delicious, I'm pretty sure they use a very specific olive oil. Will definitely be back for another visit.

This location is on the side facing the street. We parked in the parking lot but didn't know they can lock the car inside the gate after a certain hour. Parking in the street might be a wise choice if staying late. Luckily security passed by to try to help us go in. Delicious food with variety of selection to choose from. From steaks to fish to pasta and pizza There was also a bar inside Friendly service and very patient with large groups Family and date friendly atmosphere There's another location in Agoura hills

Have been to the Augora location many times and tried this one soon after they opened. They have worked out the kinks here and dinner was fantastic. Our server Mila was very attentive and sweet. Glad to see they were very busy on a Thursday evening but we were able to get a table. Love the interior as well. Its well decorated and sets the right tone for a lovely evening. We will be back.

We came here twice in a week. Both times, food and service were amazing. We had Josh as our server twice this week. We had to come Back as last time we saw the delicious aged beef's and it looked delicious! And it tasted amazing with the smoke mesquite flavor. We had ordered the ribeye and price was according to how heavy the beef was. We also ordered the zoodles pasta ( that was so so) and the Basta rustic gem (delicious!). Last time we had dinner with friends and did family style where we got to try the various dishes. We had the appetizer which had the calamari and fish (delicious), cavatelli pasta (tasty), sausage pizza, and the whole Chicken (flavorful). For dessert, we tried the caramel pudding (a bit sweet) and the the bread pudding (à la mode. Delicious) Ambiance is more on the dimmed light romantic mood. They have an open kitchen where you can see them cooking though the windows. They have both outdoor seating (with heat lamps) and indoor and bar seating.

I went with someone who has been several times before. Their rave reviews lived up to their hype. The pasta was cooked perfectly (for my taste) and that sauce was so so good. The meatballs are wonderful, great that they mix beef & pork. My favorite was the pizza, classic margherita. The crust was so good, quality artisanal rustic pizza. Our server, Daniele, was very helpful with recommendations and service overall. We sat on the patio which was nice at the time of evening we went. If you are hard of hearing or prefer quieter setting I recommend patio as inside was pretty loud amongst the light music and chatter.

Basta is the kind of place where you stop mid-bite and just nod. The food is delicious and filling. I have been twice, once for lunch and once for dinner (the menu changes). There is something for everyone to enjoy! Service is prompt, friendly, and check on you as often as they can. There is seating inside and out, and there is also bar seating. You can share a meal with family and friends or have a romantic date night. The butterscotch pudding is very good so make sure to try that at the end of the night! When a place is called Basta, it's basically telling you: stop looking. This is it.

Pastas on Special: Squid Ink Pasta with Seafood and Spinach Pasta in a Mushroom Cream Sauce
    Brandi H.

I would like to start off by saying the service was very good. Everyone was very attentive and we were seated right away (we sat outside). As far as the food goes, it was very underwhelming. I saw plenty of great reviews so not sure if it was just an off day or what, but not one dish we ordered had any flavor. We ordered two of the pastas on special (which were shockingly ~$40 each, way over priced for what was given for at least one of the pasta dishes) and a side of mushrooms. One pasta dish was a squid ink seafood pasta and the other was a spinach pasta in mushroom cream sauce. Not one thing was seasoned. I don't even think salt was used. And beware of the mushrooms, aside from having no seasoning, they were so spicy! The one good thing we had was the bread.

And after so long wanting to try this location, finally here's the perfect chance. Very impressed by the inside of the restaurant with an in full view kitchen, fresh pasta station (you can really look through the window and get hungry). Prompt greeting and we were seated outside in no time. just not to go wrong.. octopus salad, burrata and rucola (just to say Italian way) and a pizza funghi and salsiccia. I haven't been deluded for certain, amazing food, great service and an astonishingly light pizza. Great job to all the staff, I'll definitely see you soon. Ciao e a presto

We were initially seated outside next to a family with two young kids who were pretty loud. Totally understandable (we have kids too), but we were hoping for a more relaxed, cozy night. Our waitress was great from the start. After ordering the fritto misto calamari (which was good), we asked if we could move inside since it was pretty hot out. I do wish we had been seated inside from the beginning, especially for a birthday dinner. Once inside, the experience completely changed for the better, much more intimate and exactly what we were looking for. We also got a red wine from the Pursued by Bear line (don't remember the exact one, but it had a bold bear on the label) -- smooth, full-bodied, and went really well with the pasta. I got the cacio e pepe and my wife ordered the strozzapreti. Hers was definitely the standout -- the pasta was soft and the red sauce had a lot more flavor than I expected, especially since I don't usually go for red sauce. My cacio e pepe was still good, just a bit simpler. For dessert, we had the vanilla panna cotta and Nonna's cake -- both solid and a nice way to end the night. Overall, a really good experience. The service and indoor ambiance definitely made the night.

Unfortunately, the experience left us extremely disappointed. The biggest issue was the unprofessional service and attitude of our waiter, Emmanuel. First, the wrong dish was brought to our table. We actually suspected that something was wrong, so we specifically asked Emmanuel if this was the exact dish we had ordered. He confidently said yes. However, when we received the bill, we noticed that the dish listed had a completely different name and was clearly not what we had ordered. What was especially disappointing that when we pointed out the mistake, the waiter barely reacted and did not seem concerned about the error. On top of that, a 20% tip was automatically added to our bill, which we paid. Other service issues also occurred. Our child was served a completely different dish than what she ordered. We also had to wait an unusually long time for one of our drinks, and it was only brought after we reminded the waiter about it couple of times. For a restaurant of this level and price range, we expected much better service, attention to detail, and management oversight. We were fully prepared to pay for a good experience, the price itself was not the issue. The problem was that we paid for what we ordered but did not actually receive it, and when we brought the mistake to the waiter's attention, it was handled as if it were not important. We left the restaurant feeling extremely disappointed, and, honestly, somewhat misled. This is a one-star review, and I strongly believe the management needs to pay much closer attention to the quality of service, staff training, and overall supervision of the restaurant. !!!!! So overall, we completely do not recommend this restaurant!!!!!!!

Great hospitality and high quality ingredients!…read more We tried Marcello for the first time last weekend. Overall, we enjoyed our experience but we felt there were some areas for improvement. Located in a strip mall on Hillcrest Drive, this restaurant is highly accessible and parking is ample on the front. Our host told us that this restaurant is nicely situated to view the fireworks on July 4th, which we planned to come back for the second time. The menu is simple and standard. We ordered the fried calamari as appetizer, and a shrimp pasta and meat pasta for entrees. The pasta was soft and tasted homemade, but the seasoning felt a little light. The calamari was flavorful but felt generic. Another aspect that also stood out is the lack of music or lighting to set the ambiance. While I liked the table setting, the ambiance felt a bit stark. With so many Italian restaurants in our neighborhood, I feel there needs to be some tweaking in the menu offerings, service, and ambiance for it to stand out. With the high prices and good quality ingredients, the restaurant has the potential to become top tier with some tweaking. Our meal came to about $100, which was reasonable for the quality and service. We will be on 7/4 to try other menu items.

We ordered the braised lamb tagliatelle, cozy salad, and the branzino. All were absolutely fantastic. The noodles were tender and the sauce was incredible. Rich but not overpowering and the portions were ample! The cozy salad was a great appetizer for us and I would recommend about 100x of the beets and oranges on that, because they were so delicious. But I'm sure others would enjoy that they took a supporting and not main role. Alberto knocked it out of the park. As a lifelong guitarist myself and an avid fan of Andy McKee, Tommy Emmanuel, and 90s throwbacks, he alternated tastefully between fun covers and other more romantic or classical pieces. His articulation was impeccable and as I took a bite of the tagliatelle I told my wife "I think I might actually cry right now". It was an absolute delight to the senses! The food was prepared expeditiously, and while it seemed that guests were welcome to linger and hang, or even have a longer evening, we were in and out in under an hour! I couldn't believe the time flew by. Just terrific all around and we are so excited to come back to try the new menu--the staff told us it rotates every 6 months.

I was so excited that we were going to be able to dine and let me tell you it was a truly wonderful delight. My co worker and fellow paisan was so right and why the hell did I wait years to try this place. We were seated at a 2 top set up very elegantly and our server David was quick to greet us and fill us in on the nightly specials and his favorite dishes. We started with a Aperol Spritz and a Lemoncello Spritz (by the way Rustico makes the Lemoncello in house). Great start to cleanse our palate, complimenting the bruschetta and I have to say I haven't had anything better than their bruschetta short of our trips to Italy. I went with several nightly specials such as the grilled octopus and calamari salad, very tasty and incredibly prepared. Followed by the Almond crusted Sole, my wife enjoyed the house made tortellini in a light cream and pancetta sauce. David our server was very attentive not only to just our table but the nearby tables as well, friendly smiling and so helpful, an important quality in a server rarely found these days. Our entrees were incredibly delicious and portions were good size, the decor and ambiance very familiar and reminded me of some of the ristorante's we dined at in Italy. Very simple but elegant, very comfortable. I had the pleasure of meeting Roberto who seemed to be the key person to the operation, I wanted to compliment our evening and share our wonderful experience with him. I had the miso salmon bowl from Social Monk, and it was so yummy. What stood out to me was how layered the flavors were -- every part of the bowl came together so well. I didn't get the name of the female staff member who greets you when you walk in, but she is always so friendly, positive, and welcoming. They should be really glad to have her as the first person guests meet because she sets such a great tone for the entire experience. If you forget to connect your table to your order, you will miss your order, and it happened to one of us. Food was good, and people enjoyed it. There is just too much tech to have lunch. The humans aren't catching the gaps in the system. I was there to spend time with my co-workers and we ended up teaching each other how to "work things"
