I'll admit I was extremely hesitant to visit Crawford Social due to the comments on the other reviews. Knowing how fickle and free food-driven some of these "reviewers" are, I said to myself, let's give it a try.  I made a reservation. Was seated right on time. Got a table near the bar. Very busy, for a Thursday evening. Clean, well-lit, nice tables, good atmosphere, piano man playing great songs. So far, I didn't see anything that prevented me from dining. Looked at the menu. Pricing was pretty on point.  We ordered two appetizers. They were delicious: the Tuna avocado and the zucchini fries. Both well made and delicious. I do have to say that the portions were a bit small, but that's more preference-related than quality. That's. We then ordered the large sausage and mushroom pizza, which was absolutely delicious. The sauce, the sausage, and the mushrooms were on point. 10/10 - we ordered it without mozzarella! No need for the mozzarella when you have a great pizza that way. That was an accident but totally worth skipping the cheese!  We then ordered the pasta Bolognese. Which was also very delicious.  Portion sides on both the pizza and the pasta were excellent!  Lastly, we enjoyed the croissant beignets! Another home run! Very thankful for the delicious food.  On to the helpful and really kind folks who took care of us.  Malina had a smile at every turn. It was a busy night, people were having a good time. She was very attentive, kind, knew the menu, and shared her knowledge with us. Aisha was there to support Malina, and she was just as attentive, kind, and friendly. We truly appreciate the hard work and dedication of them both. It's truly a pleasure to visit a new restaurant and to feel this welcomed and valued. You SHOULD eat here if you like an aesthetically pleasing location. You should NOT eat here if you like your food to taste good. I had been looking forward to trying Crawford's Social for a very long time. This year, my family took me there for my birthday. We looked at the menu ahead of time, and read reviews, trying to pick the best dishes to try and to share. The first thing we noticed when we got there is that the couch/banquette seating side of the table is positioned way too low and the cushion was extremely squishy -- to the point that the people sitting on that side were a foot lower than the rest of us in the chairs on the other side of the table. It was uncomfortable to sit on and uncomfortable to try and stand up from. It also had them in an awkward position in relation to the table, such that if you ordered a steak and had to cut it, it would be extremely difficult. Next, they brought us some water that was room temperature and had a wet-dog/old-sponge smell. We asked for some ice and the busman brought us some ice right away in nice-looking glasses. For appetizers, we ordered the Fried Asparagus, Brussels sprout salad and Fried Zucchini to share. The asparagus had not been trimmed -- not even a little bit -- and a full 1/3 of each stalk was completely woody and inedible, with the thick, dry, completely un-chewable end included underneath the breading. I have never been in a restaurant where they did not know to remove the inedible part of the stalk before. We were shocked, literally shocked. That's a real rookie mistake and just off the bat, gave us a really bad impression. The Brussels sprouts salad was mostly fried onions -- maybe canned? -- and while we like those, there were not a lot of discernable pieces of Brussels sprouts in there, and brussels sprouts were supposed to be the core of the dish. The dressing was too sweet and did not add anything to the flavor of the dish. Would not recommend. Our last appetizer was the fried Zucchini chips with tzatziki and saganaki. There were just 3 very small pieces of saganaki, which were inexplicably breaded and deep fried (not the usual way that ingredient is treated.) The chips were completely flavorless and greasy. Some had a crisp texture and some did not. The tzatziki had a good flavor but rather than being in a small bowl or dish which would have made it dippable, most of it was just smeared on the plate under the chips and couldn't be scooped up. Also, there was not a grain of salt on the zucchini chips, and no salt shaker on the table. For our dishes, we ordered the Seabass with ratatouille, the Greek Chicken and potatoes and the Chicken Piccatta. The Greek chicken was so bitter it was inedible. It also had no salt on it at all. The chef must not have tatsed the sauce or known about fry-oil temperatures because everything was so greasy. The Chicken Piccatta had no sauce on the pasta, so the noodles were pasty, gummy and bland. The small pool of sauce on top of the chicken was the one thing on the table that had salt in it and it had wayyy too much. The chicken breast also tasted a little liver-ish. BOTH of the chicken dishes had to be sent back. They were inedible. Parts of the sea bass were cooked correctly, but one end was too tough and hard to cut. The dish did not have a speck of salt in it and was bland and beige on both appearance and flavor. We asked for a salt shaker and with that addition, did actually eat the fish. That said, we would not recommend that dish as the sauce was thin, watery and unseasoned, and the "ratatouille" was just greasy, brunoise-cut eggplant, onion and zucchini - no tomato -- and did not have any discernable flavor, herbs, seasonings traditional to ratatouille, nor did it add anything to the dish. We had been wanting to try dessert because some reviews said the croissant beignets were good, but at that point we really needed to cut our losses. The waiter was nice and took the 2 dishes we couldn't eat off the bill. We never, ever send things back, so this was a very rare experience for us. The restaurant looks nice and our waiter and bussers were nice and helpful. But overall, this is not a place to go if you care what your food tastes like. I'm really sorry to skew negative, but this is a completely honest review. When you go to an expensive restaurant you really expect your food to taste good. And this did not. read more

We are so happy we decided to come for brunch. Our server was from the beginning of the meal to the end exceptional. He was extremely attentive and always there checking on us and making sure we were ok and didn't need anything else. The create your own omelette was a hit! Pancakes were undone in the middle but eh I wasn't mad because the whole experience was so pleasant. He refilled our teas multiple times right when he noticed they were out. Next time we want to try the Sunday buffet. It had pretty much everything on the menu include a Omelette bar and carving station with prime rib and shrimp. Along with your breakfast classics. All the bagels and bread plate made in house which is a plus! The decor, chairs and tables were new and very visually appealing. We cannot wait to go back again and bring our in laws. The wings were tasty but you get only 3 for $6 (rang up $6 but I believe it showed $8 on the menu). The hh burger combo was also a good deal. Burger, fries, and beer for $19. Burger was almost like a smash burger style with good flavor. Skip the tomato and cucumber salad. Not enough seasoning/salt. The surprise was the awesome pepperoni pizza for only $10. We went here after many years and at first had a good experience at the bar with their chorizo stuffed bacon wrapped dates, Zucchini Chips and Waygu Meatballs. We were excited to give it a second try and the Bacon wrapped Chorizo stuffed dates came cold. They did correct it and the Goat arugula cheese salad was decent. We actually came because we were craving Chicken Picatta and saw the picture on their website of two chicken breasts and it looked good. It came and was one breast and the whole meal and pasta looked like a child's portion, the breast was rubbery and tough and the lemon caper sauce very thin and flavorless. Great for drinks and small plates!! I have had the best experiences sitting at the bar, rather than a table. Maybe it's the bartenders energy. The service is good, however on two occasions there have been dirty plates at the table. For example. There was a stack of plates with a clean one on top and all dirty plates underneath. So glad that I saw those dirty plates before we all ate off them!! The Greek salad was really good, and the wings were great as well. I enjoyed my wine, and everyone else enjoyed their mixed drinks. There were around 20 of us that had just finished a long day of meetings at the Hyatt across the street and we had reservations for dinner at Crawford's. Crawford's is absolutely beautiful inside and outside. The entrance is grand and every square inch inside matches it. We were seated at the outdoor patio and Nicole was our amazing server. She took such good care of each of us on her own. We stared with hummus and bruschetta as starters and they were both so delicious. Because we were a catered party we had a pre-fix menu and I chose the salmon. The other two options were pasta bolognese or skirt steak. I wish I would have chosen the steak or pasta. The salmon was blah. It was floating in a cream sauce, I believe it's not how it's normally served, so it may be better. Our sides were mashed potatoes and cauliflower. Both just ok. Meeting friends for dinner and conversation on a chilly Thursday evening. Indoor seating needed. Unfortunately, did not know ahead that Thursday they have live music. The keyboardist/singer had a lovely voice and played music I generally like. Unfortunately, the volume was so loud it made conversation very difficult.. I ordered the seafood pasta ($28). A generous portion of bucatini pasta with lots of salmon and some shrimp. Very tasty. My wife ordered a hamburger medium rare ($25.50) with a side of crispy truffle fries ($3 upcharge). The burger came out medium well. Our server explained that they serve smashburgers which can never be done medium rare. He did try to have it remade. Same problem. They should have mentioned that their hamburger is a smash burger and cannot be made medium rare. Oh - and the fries were soggy, not crispy. In the past we have dined on the patio where noise has not been a problem. And we have not ordered the hamburger. Yes, I will return. But only when we can eat on the patio. And avoid ordering the hamburger. read more

We went last night for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. We were first greeted warmly by the hostess who sat us immediately. We were offered water as soon as we sat down and then we waited about 10 minutes before our server arrived and he had two classes of champagne as he welcomed us for our anniversary. He couldn't have been any hospitable and said he would be taking great care of us and he answered a few questions took our drink order and came back with my drink. We started with the yellowtail crispy rice and then ordered the branzino and the squid ink pasta as our entrees. The appetizer came out quickly and it was good, but the only drawback was that the crispy rice was extremely hot. The branzino was cooked perfectly and the pasta was ok, but the presentation of the pasta could be improved by offering a small plate for the shrimp tails. Our server came by after a few minutes of receiving our entrees and that is when things changed unfortunately. We finished our meals and after waiting around for 15-20 minutes our server came back and his attitude had changed greatly. He asked if we wanted dessert, to which we were full so we declined and he ask if we wanted the check. He brought the ordering machine to me and he had the worst attitude for some reason like we were bothering him. I noticed that after we received our meals, that it looked like the busboys were sent home as I noticed that no plates were getting cleaned and I think they had our server with too many tables. The place is very nicely done and we would most likely go back and hopefully with a little better service. read more

He was managing the entire bar and seemed to be making drinks for the restaurant too, so he wasn't as attentive as we'd would have liked, but it was obvious that it wasn't his fault. A lot of other employees were there, but they seemed to be prepping for the evening and party later that night, so I an was mostly on his own. We tried a few things from the HH food and drink menu: -London Made ($10) gin cocktail. A little sweeter than I'd prefer, but refreshing. -Crawford's Margarita ($10) Nice flavors, with pineapple and habanero. I especially liked it with mezcal instead of tequila. -Cabernet ($5) definitely not bad for a hh wine; went well with the pizza -Hazy IPA (part of hh combo): solid beer -HH Chicken Wings (listed at $8, rang up at $6) only 3 wings (which is noted on the menu); decent, but a little dry -Tomato/Cucumber/Feta salad ($8) I wouldn't order this again, lacking in seasoning and not much in the way of feta -HH Pepperoni pizza ($10) 10" pizza with lots of good flavor! We were pleasantly surprised by this and would order it again -HH Burger Combo ($19) comes with burger, fries, and a soda or HH wine or beer. Great deal and nice flavor in the burger; fries were just ok. Overall, I do think the cooks need to use more seasoning in the food. It wasn't difficult to get salt and pepper, but use it in the preparation. World Cup was on the TVs, good music, and interesting people watching. read more

Lovely restaurant. I came here with coworkers for a holiday luncheon. It was around lunch time so maybe half of the restaurant was filled. Affordable pricing and beautiful lunch area. Where we sat was half outside half inside. So it was very cute to see outside views but not be all the way outside. They also have heat lamps and plenty of free parking which I love. Beautiful area. The prime rib was 1/2 and it was so tasty and packed with flavor. Salads were huge and tasty. Bigger sized fries but salted well. I like skinny fries but still good! We had a good experience here. The place is beautiful and huge. We had two small spaniel size dogs with us and they were totally welcomed and they seated us in a spot where they had a little space. The Margherita Pizza was fantastic. We both had bowls. Him the steak and me the veggie. Neither were very exciting. The vegetable bowl was more like a Roasted Cauliflower bowl. Huge pieces of cauliflower with a smattering of green vegetables and rice. It was under seasoned and the chunks were too big and not quite cooked enough. I needed a steak knife and was not given one. On the bright side, the pups mauled that cauliflower, who knew? So I recommend this for dog parents, I will order differently next time. We got the truffle fries and rustic bread as appetizers, and both were really good shareable options. For our mains, we ordered the Ribeye Steak Sandwich and the Pasta Bolognese. The steak sandwich had decent flavor, but the bread was too toasted, making it tough and uncomfortable to bite into. The tomato flavor stood out the most. The Pasta Bolognese, on the other hand, didn't have much flavor. I mostly just got a hint of meatiness. The pappardelle pasta were also stuck together, which may be why the pasta didn't seem evenly coated in the sauce. It probably could've used a bit more sauce overall. read more

I've tried to like this place and gave it a third and final try despite the consistent bad reviews. Management always replies and says that they' work on it. So I thought maybe they had remedied some of the issues that customers repeatedly complain about. Went in for appetizers and drinks. We were sat at one of the bar tables. The host who was super friendly sat us at a dirty table with no place settings. He apologized and said he'd get it cleaned right away. My seat was full of crumbs that were sticking to my legs. The host finally returned with a wet wipe of some sort and sloppily wiped the table down. He left the table all wet. Not a great start. We ordered cocktails that took over 15 minutes. Apparently the bartender was really busy. Fair enough, that happens and we can understand that. However the drinks were so sweet and tasted like juice with added sugar. We went during the buffet brunch so the menu was pretty limited. NOT CELIAC FRIENDLY. There was two labeled gluten free items available to me that day-brussel sprouts or poke! Don't eat either of those. So I opted to modify some of the other items on the menu instead. Started with the Caesar with no croutons add grilled chicken. After quite some time, my salad came out with croutons. We opted to keep it rather than send it back, and a friend of mine ate it. SO I ended up not eating anything. I just could not trust that they'd take the proper precautions to accommodate my allergy. The table agreed that the food was bland, the salad didn't have enough dressing. The sliders were rubbery. Chicken was also rubbery. Just another bad meal here. The setting is pretty and has potential but the service and food are just not up to speed. We celebrated our daughter and her friend's graduation from Pepperdine at Crawford's this past weekend. After another venue dropped the ball, I reached out with about nine days notice. Melissa and Grace went above and beyond to help us get the perfect celebration planned. The incredible service continued on the night of the event. No matter what we asked to do, or what we asked to be provided, the entire team was always there with an immediate "yes". And our server/event manager Nichole ?!?!?!? WOW!!!! she handled our party of 20... like it was a casual party of four! Every request, big or small was granted with a smile! All of this fails to mention the food which was plentiful & delicious!
