Caesar salad with grilled chicken $18
    Lori H.

I've been meeting a friend here to celebrate her birthday for many years. It's her favorite pasta place near her house. The food has been consistently delicious over the years. They make all of their sauces in-house. The portion and prices are comparable to other Italian restaurants. It's located in downtown Gresham, so parking can be a challenge as street parking surrounds the restaurant. There is a parking lot with designated spots for this restaurant and the Frenzi yogurt shop next door. The lot is paved, but pretty bumpy because of the large tree in the center. It's roots have made the lot very rugged in areas. Overall I would recommend this spot. It's pretty busy for dinner which is usually a good sign!

Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken for me and the same thing for my husband, but he added prawns to his.

Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled for me and for my husband he had the exact same thing but added prawns to his and both came with bread. Salad was delicious. We had House salad with vinaigrette.. we shared some manila clams as an appetizer. The sauce was delicious. It came with bread.. it was my first time here so immediately I ordered the clams and the bread but the waiter never told me that all of the other dishes had bread with it. They would get five stars except charging five dollars for bread is ridiculous. That should be a given to any patron who is dining here. I canceled the bread order and at that moment he stated , " that might be a good idea because the appetizer comes with bread and both of your entrées come with bread and that would've been a whole lot of bread for you guys!" Why in the world would he wait for me to cancel it to tell me that instead of telling me that when I ordered it with all my food.

Server was nice, was around when needed and wasn't over bearing. Appetizer was bruschetta, bread needed to be toasted, tomatoes should have been sliced not cubed, mozzarella was shredded, should have been sliced, not enough basil IMO and the balsamic should have been a glaze. It was so watery that the bread soaked it and it was very difficult to eat. I won't order that again. The carbonara and chicken Cajun sauce meals were great, perfect flavor to them and I really enjoyed it. Tiramisu for dessert, was perfect size, and whipped cream was house made and so good! Restaurant wasn't loud at all, and I liked the setup for seating, felt like you were in your own bubble at your booth without knocking shoulders with people either.

The food, ambience were nice but the SERVICE was really the best. We came here tonight to celebrate our daughter's birthday. She remembered coming here last year when we met up with friends of mine and asked to come here for her birthday dinner. We had reservations for 7 and were seated immediately when we arrived in the back at one of their big round tables that was the perfect fit for all of us. The restaurant is charming and it's in the cutest lil part of downtown Gresham. There is a HUGE parking lot right across the street (to the west) with free parking so you don't need to search for street parking. There are lots of food options here and I personally had the fruitti de mare which is a linguini pasta with a yummy garlic lemon sauce and a ton of scallops, salmon, clams, and shrimp. The seafood was NOT overcooked and was perfect. Oh I don't usually eat a lot of pasta but this was good. I think it's a nice place with good food italian american food. My dear daughter wanted their spaghetti with meatballs because she remembered how tasty it was over a year ago. I think everything they had was delicious and fair priced. But can I just share how awesome our waiter was?? I feel horrible because I didn't get his name but he was so friendly and was genuinely a happy guy and his energy was just great. He brought drinks before we even needed out refills, he checked on us consistently. We brought our own cake that she had picked out and he made sure we had plates, a cake knife, etc and even brought me coffee. The coffee ended up being cold and not that great and when I mentioned it to him when he asked if I wanted more. He immediately got me a fresh americano to take with me. He really made my daughter's birthday dinner lovely. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Mid-sized restaurant with lots of booths. Food is very good, but maybe too spiced (salty, peppery), so when ordering tell them exactly how you like it and they'll graciously oblige. For example, my wife ordered a salad topped with sautéed shrimp, which came out spicy, she sent it back (first time she ever sent a salad back), ordered something completely different that was relatively bland, and mostly enjoyed it. That was a salmon steak with mixed veggies and pesto infused risotto (the latter was too thick). My son and I loved our dishes in toto. He ordered chicken and cheese filled tortellini with asparagus in what seemed like a vodka sauce. I got the shrimp scampi, more like a scampi primavera that came with tricolor bell peppers and mushrooms and garlic bread (sorry that I didn't take the photo until I devoured the first half of the bowl). My son and I split a tiramisu dessert that was fresh and delicious and I had mine with black decaf Umbria coffee, which they were selling in bags, which I bought - it was dark Italian, with bold and deep flavor. P.S. we really liked our waitress, "Lennon," which her father named her after "the Beatle, not the Bolshevik."

Delicious food that included an assortment of lunch specials. Service was impeccable too! Make a day of it with some shopping and then a yummy meal here!

I do NOT recommend this location. I have come here a few times and it's a Gresham Italian restaurant trying to be a Formal High Class Italian. You can already tell I'm a bit mad about this.... I did really enjoy the Bruschetta when i came over 3 years ago and brought other friends. I called tonight to make a reservation for my parents and I. I knew their hours were only until 830. I called at 7 to see when they stopped seating and the guy who answered the phone said they stop seating at 815. I said oh that will work but we may not get there until 8 because we were driving from Vancouver but i thought it would be nice to bring my parents there for their 54th anniversary. He said well we stop seating at 815 but you should be ok and literally took a reservation for our party of 3 for 8 pm and confirmed it. We arrived just before 8. My mom went on to get a seat while i brought my father who had a stroke and has a walker. They literally saw us outside and told my mom that they were closed. The lady came out as we arrived and said thank you for understanding. I said uh why would you take a reservation for 8 and tell me you say until 815 when i called at 7? She said no i was standing there that isn't what he said he said we don't allow anyone in after 8. Ummm listen i kinda have a job that requires memory and i know what was said. That's why i called in advance and asked. We wouldn't have driven this whole way if it didn't work. She said no you're wrong and continued to argue with me. To reiterate I KNOW we were cutting it close that's why I called to ask before driving 45 minutes.... they could've said not a great idea then but instead they took a dang reservation then denied it when they saw the walker.... I'm thinking there was some discrimination going on since they saw my father with a walker after telling me no problem when I called..... whoever owns this place should take a good hard look at who is working there. I will never give this place any of my money. They can learn something about honesty and customer service. I do not recommend anyone else coming here. The Bruschetta used to be amazing but not worth the attitude and false communication.

The food here is always great. We came about 45 minutes before closing after a graduation and they got us seated. The service was great!! The food is amazing. There's a ton of options on the menu. The interior is very spacious. I've come here multiple times and it's always great. There is parking behind the building if you can't find anything on main. The waitress came over with a platter of dessert to show us the options. I would happily come back.

    Penne Bistecca Meh.. not great

Early dinner. Service was good and friendly Food meh. Tried the penne bistecca. Basically penne pasta, sirloin strips, red pepper, mushrooms in a cream sauce Being gluten sensitive an extra $4 is added on. Making my meal $26. Just not very well prepared. Mushrooms and peppers, what was there were barely cooked. Sirloin strips were tough. Lastly the sauce was way too thin. Very underwhelming. Wife's tomato soup was pretty good. Caesar salad was pedestrian Not a bunch of Italian restaurants around. May go back and try something else sometime

This place NEVER FAILS! The staff is amazing! Food is always spot on! Placated in downtown Gresham, plenty of parking. Decor is outdated, but if you can over look that. This place is the Italian spot for you! But.... I think more for people who like sauces! Saucy pasta!

That said, the food has some catching up to do. The complimentary bruschetta is a nice touch in concept but the execution falls flat. The bread is a basic sourdough with a thin, uneven drizzle of olive oil and herbs. Some pieces arrived nearly bare. A little more care and consistency here would go a long way. For my entrée I tried a salmon pasta special. The salmon itself had a lovely texture, which gave me hope but the sauce threw everything off. It was oddly sweet which clashed with what should have been a savory balanced dish. It's not bad enough to send back but it's not something I'd order again. Overall, this spot has a solid foundation with its friendly and efficient service. It was a pleasant enough experience but don't come with sky-high expectations for the plate.

Our server was friendly and quick. She answered questions and described the specials. They have gluten free focaccia!!!! It was super yummy, but it was also served kinda cold. Worth it. We ordered the fresh catch, which was halibut with some potatoes and grilled asparagus. The accompanying sauces were delicious. The asparagus was good. The white potatoes though had been cooked previously and weren't reheated enough. They were described as new potatoes but were definitely large chunks of russets. They were hard to eat. So we didn't. We also had the Punta di Fesa which is a braised beef dish with mushrooms on polenta. The balsamic mushrooms and polenta were so flavorful and delicious. It was a good thing that my husband started with this dish (we traded halfway through and had plenty to eat!) because I would have eaten his share of the polenta too. The beef however was dry and not what I would have expected from a braised beef. When we were given a knife, we were told we probably wouldn't need it. We did. The service here was friendly and helpful. Our server was knowledgeable about gluten free needs and recommended a great bottle of wine that went well with our fish AND the beef (which is tricky...yummy Chianti AND half price!). It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night at 7. There were people that ended up waiting but not too long. There are shelves of Italian goods all around you. My husband said he felt like he was eating in a store. You kind of are, but it was still cozy. I plan to come back to try the gluten free pasta and maybe a lunch sandwich if they have solid gf options there. Also, the dessert menu looked great. We were just full.

The day I went was "fish Friday" so the menu featured seafood in more dishes. The day before was "gnocchi Thursday" I believe, which I'm glad I didn't go that day because I wanted to eat actual pasta not gnocchi We started with the insalata nostrana and arancini. Pretty small portions imo, especially for the arancini. They only give two and they are definitely not the best arancini I've had. Tasted kinda lemony?? Salad was fine but nothing special too. For mains, we got the reginette pasta featuring gulf shrimp in a lemony white wine sauce and the diavola pizza. The pasta was good, well cooked and the shrimp was not overcooked. The sauce was almost too decadent but at the same time, the taste of lemon was pretty overpowering. I wanted to try a red sauce pasta but they didn't have great options bc of fish Friday and I felt like I should try something with seafood. For the pizza, they give you scissors to cut it yourself which is fun. It was a standard Neapolitan style pizza. Thin crust and light, it was pretty good. For the most part, I could taste the quality in the ingredients but the flavors in the pasta didn't blow me away. The starters were also average, especially for the price. It's still worth checking out, especially if there's something on the daily menu that you particularly want to try!
