    Pulled Pork Platter

A short drive from Barksdale Airforce Base is this road side BBQ joint my boys like to call it the pig place. The dinning room is quaint and the décor is simple with spacious and minimal seating. The smell of smoked meats permeates the room when you enter and they have so many options from large plates to smaller sandwiches (which are still pretty huge). The kids love the chicken fingers, and my cousin always gets the loaded potato with pulled pork (which is lovingly called the BOTATO) which is huge.

The smoked wings were bomb! The came out steaming hot, delicious and cooked to perfection. The side potato salad was also super delicious. On top of that, a nice refreshing sweet tea and you've got yourself a classically and bodaciously delicious meal.

Botato. With all the goodness. And yumminesses. About $10

"Bodacious BBQ of Louisiana boasts a wide range of barbecue and down-home Creole dishes. Daily specials such as Jambalaya, white beans-n-rice, red beans-n-rice, thick meaty western chili and Creole green beans are made fresh each morning and sell out by dinner. You can rest assured that those Creole dishes have that delicious barbecue meat in them to create a flavor that is hard to find anywhere else."- BOY IS THAT NO LIE. Fast and friendly these folks sure can pile on the yummy goodness. When it comes to BBQ- this is my go to spot. You gotta try that Botato! Mmmm-mm-m

The bbq sauce really makes a world of difference and I wouldn't eat one of their sandwiches without it.

This little hole in the wall restaurant is on Barksdale Blvd. about 5-10 min from Barksdale AFB. It kind of looks like a converted convenience store. On the inside, eclectic decorations cover the walls. It has a very charming small town feel. The restaurant was clean and with the amount of patrons, well maintained. The wait staff were cordial and but you could tell that the line almost out the door was starting to take its toll. She was quick to take our orders, gave us our drinks, and moved to the next costumer. All and all, she did a great job. Now, to what you want, the food. I had sausage, green beans, and a side of red beans and rice. My friend had Chopped Pork and 2 sides of red beans and rice. We are both huge BBQ fans and neither were great. I do have to say that the red beans and rice were good. Although this would not be my first stop, it does work in a pinch for lunch.

The food came out at a great pace. we were able to get in, eat in, and get back to lunch on time. everyone was nice. My Texas toast was excellent. My ribs and chicken were very tender. The chicken was hot my ribs were not, but i imagine too much heat would make them tough, so leave it alone. now my baked beans, no excuse there. there were 2 pulses from being cold. i asked my co-workers, and those that got beans were cold also, they just did not eat theirs, mcgreedy ate hers. i can't throw away money. my little corn cob coblette was good and hot and had a pat of butter on it. Great touch. never had that before anywhere.

Food was very good, try to go late they run out of stuff and close the grill down early. Bochips were huge !!!

While we were attending an all-day wrestling tournament at the CenturyLink Center, we decided to venture out for a bite for lunch. We found Bodacious BBQ nearby and stopped in for lunch. The interior is quaint with country flourishes but the kitchen was hopping. We didn't have any wait to order our meat plates with sides. We all tried the brisket which was smoked well, tender, and quite flavorful. I tried the smoked sausage (both spicy and plain), my wife the chicken, and my daughter the ribs, along with some various sides. Everything was cooked to perfection. For dessert, we shared an order of the beignet fries, which can best be compared to a funnel cake. After the huge portions on our plates, we couldn't finish the dessert, but we left well-fed and ready for more wrestling. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, large portions, and great flavor were the takeaways for our family during our visit. Hopefully you'll have a similarly savory experience should you drop-in to Bodacious BBQ,

Dont let the looks of this place scare you away. Good BBQ, love their mint tea, and I loved the bread pudding.

Great BBQ. More of a take out place than eat in. I think they have the best BBQ chicken in town.

And then there was a picture of a skull lol. It's very spacious inside. Parking is like downtown parking, we parked in the street. My husband's parallel parking skills could've been better. He's too used to his back up camera. You wait in line and order. The taste of everything was solid. It's fresh. The Cajun dog is made with alligator and pork meat. Texture was good. It's messy so eat it with the fork and knife they gave you, which is my mistake. Everything just tastes better when you eat a hot dog without utensils. The paddie melt is also good as well. The rosemary garlic fries had good flavor and same with the onion rings. They happened to just bring us out the loaded onion rings so we were pleasantly surprised. Service is friendly. Very nice place. The portions were actually loaded because normally I wouldn't think I'd be full from the food but it was really filling. I give it a four out of five because it didn't blow me away. But very solid. Definitely give it a try!
