I didn't write a review last time because the food was great, although I was given a piece of dry bread with no butter. I thought, well, maybe they no longer do buttered bread. Went in this time, and after arguing over the non-native speaker dude running the place, I had to explain four times "A chopped beef sandwich plate with both sides potato salad". He argued that meant FOUR potato salads. I blew it off thinking he's having a bad day. Nope, he's having a bad job. I got the chopped beef SANDWICH, with NO BUN. NO BUN. NO BUN. NO BUN. Just a pile of chopped beef. On the bright side, the slice of bread I got with my 2 meat plate was BUTTERED. And NO, there was nobody there. No customers, No distractions. We just stood there and argued. Yah, I'll take my business to some other PODNUH'S. You people do know there are LOTS OF THEM in 10 miles, right? Go ahead and go back to sleep, I don't need your help anymore. read more

My brother used to love it and I remember going there when I was younger, but he wanted to get it every week so I know it was good because he was really finicky. So as a Shreveport staple, I would say they are probably the best besides maybe one other that they are equal to. I would send anybody there. Good food, good prices and they used to have a buffet, but I don't know if they do anymore. read more

Podnuh's has been a " go to" bbq of mine for probably 30 years, but in recent years I've gotten the impression those running this particular restaurant on Youree really didn't care about serving their customers. This evening I drove by to order and pick up dinner for my wife and I. However the door was locked, despite the sign saying the lobby was supposedly open til 8:30 and drive through til 9. It was still before 7:30. So I got in my car to go through the drive-thru, but was advised they were closed, although I saw at least 2 employees inside. Very, very disappointing and aggravating. Still wanting BBQ I headed back north up Youree to Hickory Stick arriving before 8. They were open with a line at their drive through, but they quickly, efficiently, happily and enthusiastically filled my order. I admittedly paid more than I would've at Podnuh's, but I got what I wanted, and frankly, Hickory Stick is typically much better, and was great tonight. I doubt I'll trouble myself to try Podnuh's again anytime soon. If they don't want my business, they'll not be getting it. I don't recommend wasting your time going to Podnuh's these days. Too bad. They used to be good bbq for a good value. read more

Oooh, where do I start? I've eaten at this location several times and the quality has gone down tremendously!!!! For starters, the bbq was bland. Not seasoned at all. Purchased the bbq sampler plate and I would ha live been better off going to Walmart. Wish I could say something nice but I can't. Gave two stars because they serve corn. So disappointing. I was a frequent costumer, but the last two chopped beef BBQ sandwiches were more fat than beef. Money thrown away.

Years ago I came to this restaurant and was severely disappointed. I stopped by a few weeks back and was exceedingly happy to find this place running at tip top quality. We have returned several more times and the experience was just as satisfying. Thanks for the amazing food. Great job!!! read more

Podnuh's, aside from Cobb's in Bossier City (see my review here on Yelp), is some of the best local bbq in these here parts. This newer location on Youree Drive in the once bustling Portico Shopping Center, was most recently a Mr. Gatti's pizza place, of which I was a most frequent customer. And sad as I was to see Gatti's go, and I was very sad, I am glad to see that it didn't stay vacant long and that at least it was a takeover by a Podnuh's. Walking in here for the first time, since the renovation, one may feel a certain sense of deja vu. The place looks great and wide open, it just seems familiar still. The layout is somewhat the same. You can still envision Gatti's a little bit when you're in there. They have a flat screen television, at least one that I could see, the same ol' great bbq, beans and potato salad and the same ol' friendly service. You just can't really beat Podnuh's. It's right next to the newer Good Eats, which was formerly an Arby's. read more

Been eating at podnuhs since the 80s.. now I come to the one on Youree at least once a week - Perry, the manager is so wonderful - always happy, a smile / anything he can do to help - place is always clean, the buffet is always clean / it's really a pleasure to come ( now he recognizes me) and believe me that is hard to come by these days in restaurants. One star bc we did at least eat the ham. We each got two meats and two sides so that we could try different things. I got the ham and pulled pork with Mac n cheese and BBQ beans. My husband got brisket and sausage with potato salad and beans. The mac was horrible. Neither I nor my husband could eat it. He loves potato salad and only managed one bite. Beans were burnt tasting. The brisket was really really dry. Only thing we ate all of was the ham and it was just okay. We ended up throwing away almost everything and will probably be going to eat a early dinner. read more

I love Podnuh's! Been eating there a long time. I'm so glad the one on Youree opened up. I usually buy a family spread and my family loves the beans and brisket. I really like the chopped beef sandwich and love their slaw. Can't go wrong here. read more
