We were going through Cleveland and thought we'd try this place out. ON a Monday evening around 8 pm the place was fairly empty except for a few people at the bar. As we sat and waited for our food, a few more people trickled in and headed straight to the bar. Park on the street, there was a lot not too far from this establishment. We lucked out that it was Indigenous people's day so parking was free! We ordered plates to share. The Quail nestled on a creamy bed of corn was absolutely delectable. If you don't know, quail is a small bird-like chick size. It was tender with a hint of smokiness. The corn was bursting with flavor! We also ordered lamb lollipops. Yummmm. You get two "lollipops" on top of mashed potatoes with a sauce. It was the perfect combination of comfort and highbrow. The strawberry basil drink I ordered reminds me of Alize. So good. Came back to Cleveland and I just had to visit one of my favorite places in Coventry! Bodega always brings back fond memories and the food does not disappoint! This was the first time i ever dined in... normally I get takeout. I went with my family and I'm only sad I didn't get to try everything I know and love! We started off with drinks and apps. We got the strawberry basil, Mojito, and pineapple ginger martinis. All three were delicious! We also got crab croquettes and calamari. Oh my goodness. The crab croquette was spicy, soft, and perfectly fried on the outside! Jam packed full of flavor and larger in size than any crab cake you can get. The calamari was fried to perfection and so tender! Definitely must tries. For entrees, we got the lobster risotto, Mediterranean seafood pasta, ribeye, filet mignon, and braised short rib. The steaks were both over cooked... we asked for medium rare for the ribeye and medium for the filet, and we got medium and well done respectively. The filet still melted like butter bc that cut tastes amazing even if it's over cooked. The other 3 dishes lacked in enough salt this night, and That would be my only critiques. The lobster risotto is a classic and a must try in my opinion! The braised short rib was large in quantity, and the Mediterranean seafood pasta had a LOT of cheese so be prepared for that! I've gotten food from bodega enough to know that they normally don't overcook their steak and skimp on the salt... but for the purpose of this review I had to dock them a star for that. The vibes here at bodega are amazing. If the weather is nice out I definitely recommend that you sit outside at their patio. The patio is completely covered and is blocked off, so you are safe from mosquitoes and any wind or sun. The food here is very Well cooked an extremely flavorful; however, the reason why this got a three star review is because of the slow service. We ordered drinks which took about 10 minutes for it to come out, but I was OK with this because the bar was looking pretty busy that night that I was there. The food took almost 45 minutes to be served to us. Our server was extremely polite and attentive, but the long wait for the food made it a slightly sour experience. I would still recommend that you come here to try their restaurant, but hopefully their service is not always this slow. The calamari and steak were an excellent choice - both had so much flavour and the steak was slightly over cooked but the quality of the steak was great so it was soft and juicy even though it was Cooked to a medium well. The crispy calamari Was not to over fried and the seasoning on it was very tasty. The stuffed salmon is not a bad choice either but I probably would go with another option instead. The crab stuffing is not anything special and I found it actually took away from the salmon itself. I probably would have liked the salmon more if there was not any crab stuffed in it. There is free parking available on the streets near the restaurant after a certain time. There isn't really a convenient parking lot nearby to park for free. read more

Where do I start? Instead of a friendly welcome we received a lecture on how to use a QR code to scan the menu and select food and drinks. No waiter, no service, no recommendations, no explanations of any of the dishes. We wanted to inquire about portion sizes and how many to order for a table of 4. One has to select and immediately pay on the app. I can live with that approach and have dealt with this type of set up in other countries and during Covid, but here it comes across as cheap and cutting corners. The real sad part though was the food, a real let down. The only good dish was the hummus platter, which was tasty and good size. The bad: everything else. The mussels looked promising but came in a flavorless broth. I only ate one and had sand and pieces of broken shells in my mouth. My friends had the same experience and we left the dish mostly untouched. The lamb lollipops were overcooked but the worst was the eggplant dish. The portion was massive and the middle was ice cold, possibly microwaved? On top of that my friend found a very long dark hair in her bite. Because there is no wait staff nobody came and inquired about our experience. You are left alone with cold, poorly prepared food. Why bother? You got our money upfront and couldn't care less about your guests experience. We left much of the food uneaten and cut this disappointing evening short. So sad, we had great memories of this place when it had Moroccan inspired dishes that were well executed. Looks like the new owners are taking a former gem downhill. We won't miss Bodega. read more

Cocktail list uninspired and basic and disappointing and overpriced. The bouillabaisse was chock full of scallops, mussels, and some shrimp on a not too greasy tomato chunky broth. It was wonderful! This place...good lord. Where to begin. The decor looks like someone was on an extreme budget trying to decorate it like a real restaurant. The whole ambiance feels like a propped up hollywood facade of an actually establishment. Things become apparant that you may have made reservations at the wrong restaurant from walking in and seeing the horrible tables and chairs covered in purple and black linens to hide their awful condition. Keeping with the theme...think "pretending to be upscale" with the decor. Heck some of the wall decor hasnt even been hung up yet, its leaning against the wall. Taking it further, we have house speakers on tripods strategically located to pump out what might be "Stevie Wonder spotify play list". Almost too loud to talk. As you sit down and wait...and wait...and wait. You figure out yourself you have to scan the QR code on the table to order your food, drinks. There will be confusion about who pays because when everyone orders from the QR, the option to order as a group or single person leaves you wondering what the heck to do. There is a server who comes and drops off glasses of water with ice. And you really never see them again. When you finally figure out they are not taking your order and you REALLY have to use your phone to order, be prepared to pass your phone around the table or shout out what you want to whoever is holding the phone. The owner might come over and try to charm you. Dont be fooled, he will watch your table struggle all night with no care. Table of 6, we had one dish come out and hour after we ordered. Drinks that took forever. Someone ordered a gingerale that never came out...until after dinner. After that one dish came out, our appetizers and the other 5 entrees trickled out of the kitchen over the next hour with no urgency or understanding of table serving or timing. Drinks came out wrong. Food was marginal, with the salmon barely edible. Many things that were ordered from the QR code, never even came to the table. I recall someone coming by after dinner was over...we still have a side salad ,do you want it? Are you kidding me???! The owner, milling about seeing this whole thing unfold, did nothing to remedy the situation. We had to tell them we didnt get $30 worth of food and we had to have them take it off the bill. At the end they charged us 20% gratuity automatically...which we tried to take off and they wouldnt. 20% for what!? We ordered and put in our own food and the back of house messed it up so so bad....0% tip!!! This place with its fake ambiance, Horrible staff and even worse service should change its name to Slow-dega...see what I did there? We have been going to Bodega every year for Valentine's Day, and for other occasions for many years now. This year will be the last. Food was terrible, the new owners husband is extremely rude and made us feel very unwelcome. The server tried to make our stay enjoyable, and offered some drinks on the house for our terrible experience. We heard him say HELL NO when she asked to offer us complimentary drinks. After that we were just done. Too bad for his wife because she was very nice, but he doesn't know how to treat guests. It's a shame making guests feel so unwelcome. Never going back. read more

Couldn't help but notice the last persons review about the owners husband. Just a few nights ago we waited over 30 minutes for drinks when he had just a few people at his bar. He was too occupied with the music selection and spent more time on his phone playing songs he wanted to listen to, failing to acknowledge the server repeatedly asking for our drinks. When he finally made them we were already boxing our food so we sent them back. Not to mention he made them wrong. Always a favorite on Coventry Road this is my family's place for special occasions or when we feel like going somewhere nice and different. Bodega's cuisine is eclectic continental. They have some Moroccan dishes. Offered is a wide range of tapas plates and entrees. My son and I came for annual outing to Bodega. We noticed the decorating had been refreshed, and the restaurant/lounge area looked nice. Our server was friendly and professional like servers here always are. We started with the Soy-Chile Glazed Wings. They were outstanding and there were plenty to share. Our entrees, which we took some home, were Filet Mignon au Poirve with whipped garlic potatoes and asparagus--mouth watering, and Chicken Tajine with fingerling potatoes and olives, cilantro and an infused ginger saffron sauce. Very nice. To the entrees you can add a side of couscous or saffron rice for $4. For a special occasion with a group or for a romantic evening, come to Bodega. This is my ninth check-in here. For people with disabilities note that the inside front has stairs. Call and ask about a door in the back. Parking is on the street or in the garage across the street. Not sure if our server forgot to put in our order, or the kitchen messed up, but the expediting was awful. More later. Everything we ate was really good. Service: minus stars here. We walked in when place was mostly empty. Our server did not know menu, was absent, and we suspect forgot to place our order. After placing our order, others were seated and served, while all we had was bread. We pointed that out to our server. Some food came, then another half hour wait, then entree came, then an appetizer. And she wanted to charge us for the app. Only the bartender who served our wine was a decent server. Owners walked around never once taking an interest in service. Then put coats on and left. Food here is 4 star. Ambiance is 4 star. Dining experience is minus stars. What an awesome restaurant. The atmosphere was fantastic! They had a piano player and singer tonight. It was beautiful. The low lighting, the drapes, the candles. It was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I were celebrating this evening and he took me to Bodega. Our server was Mike. Very friendly, he picked our meal for us. Our starters were the tuna tartar and the lamb lollipops. Both were so flavorful. The tartar reminded me of Hawaii. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were delightful. I wanted to try the quail because I've never had it. So, I did and WOW! It tasted how I thought quail should taste. A bit gamey and nothing like chicken which was a huge surprise. I absolutely loved it! I will most definitely order it again. My husband ordered the lamb and it was incredible! It was an awesome night. I do wish our server paid a bit more attention to us. He was super friendly, but I only saw him when he was delivering food. When you spend $150 on a meal, a little bit of attention goes a long way. I do not recommend this place at all. The ambiance and the menu are intriguing, but the service and the food are just terrible. The restaurant was almost completely empty at 6pm on a weekend night... not a good sign. It was minutes before a host came to greet us. Our server was at least friendly but spilled water all over the table and on my friend. She made a joke, but did not clean it up or refill her water. We ordered the truffle fries, which were mediocre at best. Then once we ordered our entrees, the server brought out one dish, then the second one 5 minutes later. By the time my friends were done eating, my dish still had not arrived and our server had not stopped to check on our table. When she checked back, she told us that she forgot to put my order in. My dish, lobster mac and cheese, arrived 45 minutes after my friends had received their dish-- over an hour since we ordered. It was the worst mac and cheese I've had. Salty and thin sauce, also shrimp and no lobster. Our server was unprofessional and made it seem like her mistake was my fault. Amazing restaurant, not sure how this place is only in the 3 star range. It is one of the best I have ever been to. A true 5 star place. The decor is awesome, very classy modern style with a nice bar top. They have nice couches inside as well on the romantic patio. Really like the options they provide to fit your dining style. The food was amazing; the tossed green salad was perfect, the nice touches of great dressing, quality parmesan flakes and gourmet olives made this salad stand out from others I've had. The bread they give you is so soft and bursting with flavor, they really got some skills in the bread arts. I had the Fez Chicken, which was a dish consisting of sautéed sweet onions, ginger, cinnamon, honey, raisins and garnished with roasted almonds. The chicken was very tender and juicy. Very unique combination and delicious, very uncommon flavor. I also tried a bite of my beautiful girlfriends Lobster Mac, wow is it amazing. They have a ton of great options, can't wait to try more. The waiter Mike was the best we have had (Sorry New Orleans French Quarter Waiter, you're #2 now). Great personality, passion, and overall knowledge. Really great guy, glad he was our waiter. This place gives a great overall experience, the food is more Moroccan based, so it may be different than what you are used to since they use many different spices and flavors that aren't always traditional in America, but they do have some more common options as well. I picked Bodega for my birthday as soon as I saw its Moroccan menu and I'm glad I did. Everything was excellent. I started with the lobster macaroni and cheese appetizer. This is a good one to share because they give you a lot and you want room for the rest of your meal. I then had the lamb mrouzia for the main course with a side of couscous and it was excellent too. My wife had the mixed grill, which has lamb, beef, and chicken on skewers. I expected this to be less interesting but the meat was real tasty. Finally, we had bread pudding and chocolate cake for dessert, both winners. We'll have some for later on, too, as we got doggy bags because there was more than we could eat. The service was friendly and efficient, all good. This will definitely be a good restaurant to come back to. read more

Was very excited to try this place for the first time, and finally did last night. Entered the restaurant from the main entrance. The decor and design inside looked pretty nice. We were asked whether we'd prefer to sit inside our out. It was a nice day, so we chose to sit in their outdoor patio. We were seated right away. That was the only thing that we didn't have to wait a long time for. It took a while for a server to acknowledge our presence, after which we ordered the seafood ceviche as appetizer. As we were waiting for the ceviche, I figured the server would come back within a reasonable time to get our entree orders. She did not, and the ceviche took forever to arrive. I'm a fan of ceviche and I've had a few different variations. This one was "meh". They didn't even serve it with any crackers or the sort to eat it with. I had to ask for something, and we were given warmed rolls, which turned out to be a decent complement. When she finally came back to take our orders, I ordered the seared duck with garlic mashed and asparagus. Wife ordered the chicken fez with a side of couscous. Again, it took a while to get our food, but we enjoyed our entrees. Well prepared with good flavors. Then the server noticed we were done and came over to clear our table. Seemed like she was in a hurry and my wife asked for bread pudding for dessert as she was turning back towards the kitchen. A few minutes later, she drops off our check without the bread pudding. Had to wave her over a little later and asked where our bread pudding was. She apologized that she misunderstood - thought we wanted our check. Anyway, the bread pudding came... "meh" again. Had chunks of hard bananas, and the bread pudding itself was overall bland. Lastly, if smoke bothers you avoid sitting in their patio. Not sure if this is common in most restaurants that have outdoor seating, but it seems they allow smoking. We were seated next to a party who were smoking. To make matters worse... their patio is located in the rear of the restaurant. Just as the inside, the patio is decorated very nicely. The ambiance is completely destroyed by the fact that they place at least 2 dumpsters (that I was able to see) right next to the seating area. Every time a breeze came by we got a good dose of dumpster waft. Horrible! Overall, main course was good. Experience leaves a lot to be desired. read more

This place can easily be missed. I initially thought it was a fancy expensive place on Coventry but we had a coupon for it which made it opportune to try it. Walked in and felt like a baller! Super trendy with a very chic décor inside. There's a nice intimate section on the side of the restaurant with lots of plush, comfortable couches with decorative pillows in a Moroccan theme. As for food, we got a seafood medley in a tomato broth, not quite a cioppano but this was on the Moroccan menu (sorry forgot the name). I wanted to throw my classy broad card out the window and just drink straight from the bowl. Had a little spice which I love. Great to dip some bread in and sop up all the last few drops. Also got a lemon chicken which was laden with salt and some surprisingly large potato chunks. It was a good sized portion, loved it at first but the salt and potatoes turned me off after a while. Bathrooms were very clean. I believe Wednesday is ladies night (half off wine along with other specials which I failed to hear).
