My friend found Bodega Truck from an Eater video; it was our first time trying out Chop Cheese and I'm so glad we got to try it out! Service: The guy working the truck, who I believe is also the owner, was very nice and patient as we asked questions about the menu. Food came out fairly quickly and after, we were able to snag a couple of benches around the park to sit on. Food: The Chop Cheese sandwiches are served with a bun and it seemed very fresh. For the price, they're pretty decently sized. For each order, you also get one of those nostalgic burger gummy snack things. -The OG ($9): with lettuce, tomato and Bodega sauce -The MC Chop'd ($11): with lettuce, tomato, onions, and Bodega Mac Sauce-- tasted like a Big Mac! -El Dominicano Bodega Fries ($13): you can order Bodega fries by choosing whatever topping you want from the chop cheese menu. This was a large amount, perfect to share. Overall: I can't speak to how it compares to other chop cheese places since this is my first one, but this was pretty damn good in my opinion! Will definitely come back next time I go back to NYC!

Abs love this. Follow the IG page for his location day/week of. Amazing! Service was great. Food was sooooo good. Love the names of the sandwiches, super creative and yet NY. Gave us free fries and bodega candy which I thought was so nice of him. I will abs be back to try more of the menu.

I moved to the city a couple of months ago. I got the "Good Mawning." It's the best chop cheese I have had to date! They offer great options, and the sandwiches are big. The people are also very kind!

Such a yummy treat! Been following on when they would make their way to upper east side, finally caught them and so happy to try the OG! Then had the hamburger gummies, haven't had these in forever. Moving to Astoria soon, so very excited to try them again!

The hype is real!! As a native New Yorker, I can confidently say...their chopped cheese is valid!

YERRR!!! I was so grateful to be dragged along to The Bodega Truck for my first (almost) chopped cheese experience. Since I don't eat beef, I ordered the Up the Block (chicken cutlet, bacon, onion rings, mozzarella, and bbq sauce) and let me tell you, that bag was heavy! They are so generous with the portion and can satisfy two meals. Please come back to Washington Heights! Notes: - Check out their IG for their schedule/daily locations - accepts card and Apple Pay

FINALLLLY....got to the Bodega Truck. Truck was located by Jacobi Hospital, not Astoria this time. Owner was extremely nice, listened to me as I babbled about missing them when they came to the Gun Hill brewery last month. Yes, I fanned out So I ordered 2 OGs, one regular and the other without tomatoes & a Sunkist soda. Couldn't wait until I got home so I ate my OG w/o tomatoes on my ride home. The bread is so soft. Tastes like it's baked fresh to order. I was worried about if they toasted the roll. Thank goodness they don't. The chopped cheese was seasoned to perfection! Not overly salty at all. Next time, I think I'm going to add bacon to my OG.... Definitely recommend it 100000%

It's fitting that my first NYC bite on this visit was from this unique and authentically NYC food truck. The Bodega Truck specializes in NYC Chop Cheese/deli specialty items. What is Chop Cheese? It's a type of sandwich originating from New York City in bodegas throughout the boroughs. It's made with love on a grill with ground beef, onions, and mixed in melted cheese and served with lettuce, tomatoes, and condiments on a hero roll. I had a taste of The O.G. (chop cheese with lettuce, tomato and Bodega sauce (S&P, ketchup, hot sauce and mayo). And The Good Mawning. This won't have you yawning ;) Truly so good any time of the day. Chop cheese with bacon, sunnyside up egg and hash brown. So many layers of flavors, textures and goodness. This is a worthy rival to the California breakfast burrito. Lastly, balance your main item with a crunchy, crispy, seasoned order of onion rings. This meal will satisfy you at that moment and for many hours after. It will easily satiate you for a 2 meal period or more. Enjoy. De nada!

Finally decided to check this food truck out. We ended up getting the classic chopped cheese and the chopped cheese over fries. The guy taking the orders was super nice! Changed his gloves every time he took orders and when dealing with food. The food itself was good, however, it is a bit overpriced compared to what an actually bodega charges. Great service, good food, would come back if I ever stumble upon them again.

The food and customer service at this food truck are incredible. I highly recommend giving it a try! From the moment you arrive, you'll love the friendly vibe and delicious menu. Don't miss out on this gem!

Whether you're in the neighborhood or just East, you're likely going to pass it on the way to the train. With solid outdoor picnic-style tables, it's a fantastic alternative to Espresso 77. Inside there's some more great seating with a high counter, plenty of more large tables and some smaller ones. Queing up to order is fairly straightforward and the large hanging menu makes it easy to figure out what you might like. IMHO, sandwiches are the go-to. You get exactly what you expect and the price point is reasonable. What I would absolutely avoid is breakfast sandwiches. Prices on those is far less reasonable. Overall, you get exactly what you expect here and it's nice to have it as a neighborhood option.

So when he mentioned how his burger was the most popular item, I definitely had to give it a shot - $8.75 for a no frills 8oz Angus burger with American cheese, tomato, onion, lettuce (I believe I saw pickle was available, but didn't get it). What I got was the 8oz of meat, but it was on a gorgeous brioche bun, with 2 slices of beefsteak tomato and really fresh lettuce. The red onions were meticulouslu cooked down in garlic butter on his griddle, and the burger patty (100% fresh, by the way) was cooked on grill using wood chip-fueled fire. Like I said, the guy really cares about his food. The meat was cooked to order, and all of the ingredients (bun, produce) were from LOCAL SHOPS freshly delivered every morning, so no unfresh ingredients. He dared me to eat this burger and come back to tell him it's not the best in the area, and I think he has an argument. So if you want to get a really good burger, all while supporting a 1-man show who supports Astoria's local businesses, stop by! This place is a great addition to the neighborhood, and I can't wait to try the rest of his sandwiches.

I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get a sandwich from Stacked since I haven't had one in a while. I I walked in and waited to be greeted while the staff chatted and gazed at me for about 5ish minutes or so. Finally, I'm acknowledged and asked "what can I get for you". I saw they had a Thanksgiving sandwich called the "Gobbler". I asked how long they would have it as even though it's the November special, sometimes places might make it last through the holidays. When asked I was told "it will be available until whenever November ends". This whole interaction made me feel so unwelcome. It didn't look like there was much going on there in the relm of orders, but it still took them a while to make my sandwich. Finally they bring it to the front counter. Pack it in paper and a paper bag and I'm off. I didn't have much time to eat so I scarfed it down in my car before heading down Queens Blvd. It was very good. Not my favorite, but def has potential. I also feel like, though this is a nice sized sandwich, they were a bit stingy this time around. I would say the star was the stuffing. It just tied everything together. As you all know, I love a good sandwich shop. I wish this was as good as it once was to me. Not sure if I'll give it one more shot just yet.
