    Sandwich kofte

Famous for their kofta sandwich it no mystery why. It's delicious. All you get is charcoal grilled kofta with tahini and arugula on a fresh roll and that's all you need. It's perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to try anything off the grill here

My favorite food cart in Queens! Kofta Kebab Sandwiches are delicious.. goodness.. nothing else to say about that. I mean the flavor is perfect. Ask for extra white sauce. I suggest calling ahead and making sure that they are open before walking down to the cart. Usually after 5/6pm they are stationed on Steinway.

Don't think they deliver, they're always too busy when I stop by.

This is my favorite food cart in Astoria, in a crowded great place for street food. Halal half chicken, chicken and beef kababs, cooked year round over charcoal. Absolutely delicious, and though the other reviewer felt the platters weren't a good value, I have to say I disagree. Platters are amazing, if you get the half chicken, it comes with two soups typically(depending on supply) and a salad. Its served over two types of rice, and though I usually get this platter for myself, the meal could easily be shared between two people. At ten bucks, well worth it. This is my favorite dish here, though the kabab sandwiches are great, reasonably priced, and served on toasted bread with the dough pulled out. A couple of tips here, Sundays and dinner time hours you'll find yourself waiting for a long time, so be prepared to wait. It takes at least ten minutes even when there isn't a long wait. Though it says they deliver, I don't think that they do. I think they're overwhelmed with orders, and won't answer the number listed. I've tried, on several occasions, to call ahead for pickup without any luck. The last thing would mention is to ask for tahini. They used to only serve tahini and hot sause, but with the popularity of the ubiquitous white sauce, think they caved because everyone asks for it. Really great charcoal grilled food here.

Big Brother Working Hard on that Mean Grill as usual.

Salamulikum to all the brothers & sisters reading this, I cannot believe I never left a review for this halal cart. Ok let me start by saying I have been coming here for so long I cannot fathom to remember anymore. I call them aka "The Mean Guys", their service is straight up mean but once you taste buds gets smacked by those Kebobs, you'll be like this food is MEAN too. But I got nothing except LUV for my brothers behind the grill, they are very hard working. Point Blank....if your dying of hunger or just plainly on the munchies....You better getchyo A$$ in there ASAP. I strongly recommend the Half Chicken over Rice w/ Beef Kofta on the side w/ Rice. PS. Order in advance because they will take minimum 20-25 mins to prepare your delicious mind blowing food.

Yelp let me down this time. I came here based on the positive reviews and was really dissatisfied. I've had halal food in other places that's ten times better than this spot. Not to mention way overpriced; $12 for a simple chicken over rice with a side of salad purchased from costco/BJs. They didn't even have a menu or the prices listed anywhere on the truck. Not only was the food dissapointing, but so was the service. I understand this isn't a five star restaurant, but the owner was rude when we couldn't understand what he was saying (heavy accent). Bad food + bad attitude = No, thank you.

Interesting little truck. Have walked past here a number of times and it's always an odd scene. Tons of middle easterners standing around, smoking cigarettes, playing backgammon and chatting. Last Friday night I was in the mood for some lamb and decided to try it out rather than going to Little Morocco or Halal Sandwich (both great establishments in their own right). I arrived at about 9:30 Friday night and upon arriving the ordering was very tricky, especially if you don't speak the language (Arabic I'm guessing). After about 10 minutes of aimlessly standing around I ordered a Lamb Sandwich. There were about 20 people standing by the truck waiting for their food. Ended up talking to one of their patrons who drives from Jaimaca to get 2 sandwiches (1 for now, 1 for tomorrow) every Friday night from this place, now that is serious dedication. He assured me though that he only orders when a certain man is manning the grill. My sandwich was huge, and took about 30 minutes to get ready. The value was great ($6 for a monster sub). The flavors just weren't there, I was expecting some succulent juicy lamb and to be honest it was a little dry. I will try again and ask for some hot sauce next time, but maybe not on a Friday Night.

Kofta is cooked on charcoal just like Egypt. Don't act like a tourist. Sandwiches are $6. I think the lamb platter is overpriced. Reesha (The guy taking your order) looks intimidating but he's actually funny and personable! Order from the left side of the cart

The best food truck in astoria hands down !!! Me and my 4 friends wanted to eat grilled food and this was the best food we had in a long time definitely it made our day :)

Kofta sandwich straight fire sorry it was late not so good lighting but great taste

I noticed some of the items on the display were frozen (red head shrimp) was one of the items. While they do not weight the seafood in front of you. The list the prices up front, so that was somewhat awkward process?? I ask for octopus, scallops, smelts, and a red snapper . The octopus was the most expensive item, it was marked $45 a pound.. We were then sent to 2nd floor for seating. Since we needed a table for 2, we got a very small table near the stairs. The table was so small, we knew right away that it be an issue given the amount of food we ordered. Our waitress came by and we added grilled eggplant, lemon potatoes and the beat salad. The brought us a small basket of pita like bread, hot, fluffy and delicious. So we had all the appetizers but the food took 30 mins and from the looks, it dis not seemed busy. In my opinion, the side dishes should be brought out with main courses but i guess thats NOT what they do here. I recalled asking at the counter for light seasoning on the red snapper. When the fish came to the table, it had some type of breadcrumbs and oil or butter. Which in my opinion is not bad but i appreciate the unique texture and flavor red snapper has all on its own. The octopus was good but i never had it sliced looking like bacon strips. Tasty but different, scallops had a little paprika, cooled perfectly. The smelts were fried just perfectly, like good french fries. I assume this restaurant is a mix of middle-Mediterranean cooking style. Food was tasty, style of service was definitely different. I will come back and try the lunch specials during the week. As a side note, accessing the restrooms was very confusing, they have 2 restrooms, there was a line to get into the restrooms. Very clean bathrooms for sure.

My dad is Egyptian, so food like this carries real meaning for our family, and Sabrys delivered in every way. The moment we walked in, we were met with the kind of warmth and hospitality that makes you feel like a guest of honor. They treat everyone that way, which makes it even more special. The meal began with fresh housemade bread, incredible hummus, baba ganoush, and salad, and then came the fish. Honestly, the best fish I've ever had, and we've dined at wonderful restaurants all over the country. We ordered the grilled platter with calamari, shrimp, and salmon, plus a fried combo that was light and perfectly done. Not greasy, just real home cooking, like your Egyptian grandmother made it. The branzino was outstanding, and the rice brought me straight back to childhood. Every dish tasted like it was made with genuine love and care, because it was. Being honest, it's been a while since I have returned because I have favored Hamido Seafood lately, right after a previous love affair with Abuqir Seafood two doors down. Then there is the old reliable Astoria Seafood and the new kid on the block, Le Petite Pecheur, which I really enjoy as well. However, once again, Sabry's proves again that they have the best pitas in the business. A full basket comes with fluffy and chewy goodness that none of their competitors can match. I do wish their dips (babaganoush, humus, tahini) were better as I have mentioned, but they are all solid 7's. Onto the seafood. What an excellent version of Grilled Octopus (9/10), with maybe the best crispy char I have tasted in recent memory. I do wish the sauce had a touch of vinegar. Not a big deal. Another near perfect dish was their Grilled Sea Scallops (9/10). They were extra large, super tender, sitting in a pool of delicious tangy sauce (reminiscent of NoLa style BBQ shrimp sauce). The Grilled Shrimps (7/10) were slightly overcooked, while the Taojine Mixed (7/10) was somewhat watery and a bit too dill forward. Lastly, the broth of the Seafood Soup (7/10) was clean and light. The calamri and clams were still tender, but the shrimps were a tad overcooked once again. Clearly after this meal, I have to add Sabry's back into my rotation of pick your own seafood type of restaurants. This was the place where I had my first experience with Egyptian style seafood and it is still one of the best after all these years.

Two people at the counter greeted me with so much energy the moment I said hi. I asked about the mixed grill displayed on the menu posted on the clear glass wall, and one of them explained that it includes three different meats, plus rice and veggies--all grilled. The chicken, coated in an orange seasoning, was flavorful and very tender. The beef, on the other hand, was quite tough--definitely for people with strong, full sets of teeth (no pun intended). The third meat was a sausage-like lamb, with a gamey aftertaste that almost made me feel like I could smell the lamb as I ate it. The rice was well-cooked too. If you ask me whether it's worth the $20, I'd say it's a bit on the expensive side. At $15, I'd probably go back for it.

It's kind of like a middle eastern quesadilla with cheese, vegetables, and meat but with a thinner bread layer that's crispy. The portion size of this was enormous--I'd honestly say it's enough for 5-6 people to share. Between the two of us, it stretched into 6-8 meals, and it reheated exceptionally well in the air fryer without losing its texture or flavor. We also ordered the beef shawarma platter and the chicken shawarma wrap (which was only around $13). I was pleasantly surprised by the chicken shawarma--it was flavorful, well-seasoned, and not overly dense or dry like shawarma can sometimes be. It ended up being one of the better wraps we've had! If you're debating whether this place travels well for delivery, I'd confidently say yes. The food maintained its quality remarkably well, which isn't always the case with Mediterranean food. That said, after this experience, I'm even more excited to visit the restaurant in person one day. One thing to keep in mind: the portions are generous and many of the dishes are quite hearty. If you're trying to eat lighter or are watching your calories, I'd recommend opting for one of their salads, like the fattoush, alongside your meal. It was #25 on The New York Times' 2026 list of the 100 Best Restaurants in New York City, and being Lebanese myself, I wanted to finally check it out. The service & hospitality is amazing; you can't beat Arab hospitality. As we were waiting for our food, one of the workers gave us a fresh Zaatar Manousheh. It was incredible! The zaatar was just as good as it is in Lebanon and the dough is fluffy, light, and super fresh. The Mix Grill was smaller than expected for ~$30. The meats were all tender, well-seasoned, and juicy. They have a few sauces to choose from and all were good. I would get the Levant sauce and white sauce again! If it was a sandwich, I would definitely get the garlic sauce again. There was so much rice and fries left compared to the amount of meat we got. It just felt like something was missing or it needed more protein. The Mixed Feteer was so satisfying! Everything here is freshly made and it's evident from the crispy feteer exterior to the cheese pull and steaming ingredients inside. The white sauce helps cut through some of the fat and the Levant sauce added a slight kick to it. Both were delicious! It's loaded with ingredients and easily shareable among 2-4 people. Although space is tight, I would recommend coming with friends or ordering to go so you can try more items since they have so many delicious options on the menu. There's so much I still want to try; I would absolutely come back!
