I was having a legitimately good time until the owner decided to become the attraction. The drinks were flowing, the crowd was having fun, and then this dude swooped in like a WWE heel who had just discovered management authority for the first time. Some owners elevate a business. Others stay out of the way and let the staff shine. This guy somehow found a third option: actively making the place worse. Every interaction felt like he was trying to win an argument nobody was having. The energy shifted so fast I thought somebody had unplugged the karaoke machine and replaced it with a podcast about a fat farm. The craziest part? The bar didn't need him. The staff was doing fine. The customers were having fun. Then he arrived with all the subtlety of a monster truck driving through a farmers market. I've never seen someone work so hard to convince people not to come back. Just go to a different bar Bouncer with long hair needs to be let go ASAP Bodegas was my first bar of the night and I had ONE beer from them (a corona). After drinking said beer, and waiting about 10-15 minutes. I needed to pee so I went to the bathroom. When I exited the bathroom there was probably about 10-12 people in the bar at most. Not crowded. But not nobody... The long haired bouncer then walks up and says "looks like it time for you to leave". I look at my watch and say "what?" Because it definitely wasn't time for last call and I'm not even buzzed at this point. And he says "yeah man. Nothing personal". (Definitely felt personal) I left because I'm not gonna sit there and argue but that's real crappy behavior. I understand he may be trying to do his job, but kicking out a paying customer after one beer is actually insane. *I'm not banned from there and I have no bad blood with anyone there (that I know of). Came to this bar from out of town and it was great! Fun atmosphere and laid back feel. The bartender Alex was great and recommended some tasty drinks. My boyfriend had a White Russian made with Orchata that The Dude would have approved of. I had a White Gummybear shot and it was delicious. The owner was there too and we chatted for a bit. Worst customer service , asked the bartender for a certain shot and got shut down because it's "her Bar and she refused to make it"! Doubt she was an owner instead just an entitled bartender who wanted to use a false power! Then waste the police time by calling them saying we were a problem. Because we verbally said our ground no threat by any means. I'm sure the cops have better things to do. Never coming back and referring my friends elsewhere. read more

This is a great venue for live music. Some outstanding nationally and regionally bands play here as well as talented local bands. The music and sound system are both top notch. When there isn't live music the owner has amazing music playing. There is a great selection of craft beer on tap, not numerous but good local choices. They also mix a mean cocktail. I've always encountered a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend Bodega's Alley. It's my go to place whenever I visit Lincoln. read more

What a fun place! I came to Bodega's Alley for the Nebraska Funk & Soul Alliance Benefit/Concert to see Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal. This was my first time at Bodega's, which I would describe as a bar/small music venue that is laid out in shotgun fashion (long and somewhat skinny from entrance to the back of the building).I was a little worried I was going to feel claustrophobic once people started pouring in for the show. However, there seemed to be plenty of personal space and seating options despite a pretty packed house. There are a few bar stools and very roomy booths, but there is also a lot of standing room. I believe there is also a backroom with some pool tables (I was a little drunk at the point I made it back there...so it is hard to remember) and the bathrooms. So if you want to get out of the crowd, you have a spot to go. I did not see if they had a back patio or outdoor space (I'll update if I find out). The stage is pretty small and located next to the entrance. The sound and lighting were pretty solid (though it was somewhat to hear Josh Hoyer talking at times). The beer options were decent in quality and price. This is not a fancy bar by any means, but I could totally see myself regularly coming here just to hang out and to catch a show. It's a nice local bar that has a lot of interesting shows. I think I f you like Zoo Bar, you'd like Bodega's Alley. They are great complements to each other, and make it easy and fun to go bar or show hopping. read more

If I could give zero stars I would bartender was sooo rude! She called my step mom a asshole. Basically if you say anything she was telling you something rude back. The people I was with were drinking I wasn't I even told her I'm not drunk and I think your being rude as heck she said if you don't like it get the fuck out. ‍ my dad tried to leave her a tip anyways being nice I took it off the bar an said absolutely not. First off, this place as a venue is awesome. Great sound system and they are very supportive of local artists coming in and performing. However, the staff is ALWAYS rude. The guy checking IDs at the door gave my friends and I an unnecessary amount of attitude. The bartenders have always been uninviting of patrons as well. I would highly recommend this place to see local artists perform however if you're going out for drinks, I would go somewhere else where the staff is willing to provide a more enjoyable experience. read more

Love this little dive bar! Never a cover when I've been there. Staff is always extremely cheerful and friendly. Drinks are mostly tasty, good selection and variety, and served with a smile even when they're busy. Industry night on mondays is great for us locals who work in the service industry...$2.50 anythings! Plenty of comfortable seating, including couches. Beer garden for smoking, but no heating out there, so bring a coat on cold nights. Foosball and pool tables. Internet jukebox. Couple of video games. Nothing fancy, but clean, casual and cozy. I was getting 2 drinks and asked to have the tab closed. When I noticed the bartender thought otherwise he did not pay attention to me at all as I was trying to get his attention. I finally got his attention and asked for my card back. I said "Hey man, I said I wanted my card closed!" He looked annoyed and I didnt understand why other than he had to do his job. He threw the pen on the table and my receipt for me to sign. I gave him 0 tip because of the struggle I had to go through. I then came back later wanting another drink. He looked at me and said "I'm not serving you." I asked him why and he said "It's the way you asked for your card back last time you were up here." I didn't quite understand why exactly I couldnt have a drink because I simply asked for a card back. Sorry for making you do your job and then ruining my night. Won't be back again. read more

Bartender is rude. I asked for change for a 20 so I could tip him and he literally threw my money at me. Bartender was middle aged man and very discourteous. Lincoln's best bar by far! The staff is there to get you anything you need with a smile on their face. Great specials, great atmosphere, great music, and the full service bar in the beer garden is a nice touch. no need to go any where else. read more

my friend's wallet went missing at the end of the night downtown and she filed a police report, only to find out that it was at Bodegas the entire time it was missing. When Bodega's contacted her, she went to get it. Upon it's return, her money was missing. When she asked about it, one of Bodega's employees told her "it's a consolation prize, honey, just be glad you got your wallet back." Who wouldn't be angry at hearing that? She had already reported it stolen when it was first missing and she told the Bodegas employees that she would be following up with the police report. When she got home, the BODEGAS BUSINESS PAGE ON FACEBOOK sent her a message saying "that was lame, you're a BAD PERSON." I am outraged and I am not the only one. They have lost my business and I hope this story reaches others. If anyone would like proof, I have a picture of the message and would be happy to share. This is not good business and it negatively reflects on Lincoln. I would suggest Duffy's, O'Rourkes, or Jake's if you are looking for a great bar and better service. read more
