Small market with an emphasis on Mexican and South American food staples. They also have a menu board that has eclectic offerings such as smoothies next to tacos. I was here more for the market, but one day I will try the food here. The staff here were friendly and overall, it was a pleasant market to spend a bit of time in.

I always seem to find the best places when I'm not looking for them. I was out and about running errands and came across Bodegon Supermarket tucked into a strip mall on Normandy Blvd. Walking in, the atmosphere is very light, refreshing, and inviting (honestly not expected, given the area). The menu board is to the left, which features everything from smoothies and juices to hearty burgers, sandwiches, and bowls with your choice of healthy toppings. There's a good sized dining room and grocery store filled with aromatic chiles, spices, and hispanic foods. I ordered the Healthy Bowl filled with Spring Mix, Chicken in Teriyaki Sauce, Kale, Carrots, Almonds, with a side of Ranch, and an Al Pastor Taco because you know....Taco Tuesday and all. While I'm NOT known to do this (I'm more of a burger/sandwich aficionado), I finished every bite of that bowl. The greens were fresh and crisp, and the chicken was flavorful, fork-tender and not overly sweet. The Al Pastor Taco was stuffed to the brim with perfectly marinated pork, juicy pineapple, garden-fresh veggies, and a cool drizzle of crema. For only $3, this was an absolute steal! To finish strong I got the Coconut Smoothie with Almond Milk, and it was refreshingly delicious. Bodegon Supermarket has only been in business 2 months, is family-owned and a wonderful addition to our local restaurant community. The owner (I didn't get her name) was very kind and welcoming, answering all my questions with a cheery disposition. For me, this was an awesome find, not only for myself, but especially for those looking for healthier options! Till next time, my fellow Yeeps, SUPPORT your local eats and businesses, and as always....SYOY!

Wow just found my new go to lunch spot in West Jax

Stopped by this unassuming restaurant located inside the grocery store and boy am I glad. Always looking for something tasty and non greasy for lunch, usually opt for Cava or a pub sub so that I can continue with work afterwards. Walked in the store and was greeted by a young lady who guided me through the menu. I ultimately went with the Casados with their Carne Asada! This is the best $13 I ever spent, the meal came with two hunks of steak, black beans and rice, sweet plantains, and their house potato salad. The steak was hot, juicy, and tender. The beans were packed with flavor, the plantains were nice and sweet, and the star of the show was the potato salad! The refreshing potato salad complimented the seasoned steak perfectly. For my drink I got a can of Jupina (pineapple soda) for $1.50. This restaurant is extremely reasonably priced and beyond worth it. Can't wait to come back again for lunch.

Beautiful location, everything looks so clean & organized. The staff is super friendly & always welcoming with a smile on their face. They have delicious healthy smoothies & fruit & veggy juices made with fresh ingredients, big healthy bowls & the Latin food is to die for. Not only is the food good but they offer a great variety of Latin products. I love that they have a lot of Costan Rican products that I can't find anywhere else in Jacksonville. You can also send money thru Ria & Intermex as well as pay any utility bills. This is truely a hidden gem in Jax. Please don't hesitate to try them out you won't be disappointed!!!

Please correct the hours. I didn't appreciate driving across town for the Yelp recommendation to find a closed business.

A simply splendid local find. Truly hope they survive. I am not going to lie I went for the food. It did not disappoint. Service was fast, food was fresh, vegetables crisp and the shrimp was large and plump. I can't wait to try more from their menu. It's nice to have a place which does smoothies and juice so close to work again too. Super friendly staff with smiles on their faces. Go support this local gem ! It's a grocery store, cafe, juice bar all in one and IT WORKS

My burrito had the meat, lettuce, tomato and rice. The chicharrones also came with limes We both thoroughly enjoyed our food, the meat was flavorful and juicy, although there was some Cartlidge still in my meat. I hear they are going to have some guests from the Filipino Channel this year. (By the way the festival is October 1 this year if you want to check it out!) I think it's been a long time coming. Tampa has already surpassed Jacksonville in recognition with their Philippine Performing Arts Company folk dance troupe and their Bayanihan Arts and Events Center. I hear there were plans for a local Filipino community center, but construction has been halted. At least there are the yearly festival and the many Filipino restaurants around town to enjoy for now.
