I went by myself one Thursday evening , it was moderately crowded, mostly families visiting. I had a fabulous time sitting outside at a lounge table picking away at freshly made guacamole and salsa reading a novel. The outdoor decor can handle just a few families, and has space for couples parties under huge fans. I'm a huge fan of this place, I invited a friend about an hour after arriving to share the joy! They ordered a huge beast of a taco salad that was made with a red Doritos bowl. I thoroughly enjoyed the Arepa Bowl, I'd highly recommend that if you are like me and always crave plantains The menu is huge and yes they do have happy hour! And YES! We ordered tacos, nachos, a kids' burrito, and kids' quesadillas, we got desert, it was a chocolate covered skull with ice cream, they bring out the dish and literally lit it on fire with a sparkler, looked cool, kids loved it, so if you're looking for something a little different or entertaining during dinner. So overall, the food was decent but a bit salty, and the flavor didn't really stand out. To me it had more of a chain restaurant feel, kind of like something you'd get at Chili's rather than a more authentic Mexican spot. Drinks were mixed for us. My wife had margaritas and enjoyed them, honestly I don't think she's ever met a margarita she didn't like. I tried the Old Fashioned, which just wasn't my style. Came for lunch on a Saturday while out running errands with our kids. We were seated promptly. It was still fairly busy for an "off" time but not as busy as weeknights that we have been. Unfortunately, our service was slower than usual and the server rarely checked on us. She even took my husband's water to refill it and never brought it back. When he asked her again for water, it didn't even register that she took his previously. Food wise- we both tried something new on this trip. I had the 1810 salad bowl and my husband had the enchiladas supreme. We both really enjoyed our meals. My salad was huge and the ingredients were very fresh. It had great flavor, but I ate it without the dressing and just used salsa on top. The chicken was slightly salty but not a huge turnoff. Went here with a large group and we only waited about 10 minutes on a Saturday night, which was great! It's a big space and cutely decorated. I git the chicken quesadilla, and it was delicious. My dad and boyfriend's dad ordered the hugeeee burrito - omg it was huge. They shared it with my boyfriend and his brother and even had leftovers lol. We ordered the steak fajitas and chicken fajitas, which come with the sides shown and a choice of corn or flour tortillas. Got some tacos to take to the beach from here - about 10 mins away. The staff are super friendly and the inside is cutesy, giving the vibe of a beachside restaurant. Very authentic vibes, everyone working there was Latino/Hispanic. Got the 1810 Taco and the Surf & Turf Taco as a platter so it also came with rice and beans. Both tacos were very yummy, coated in sauce so it was a very messy but delicious affair. The flavors were different despite both having avocado and steak so I got to try two great creations. The rice and beans were also actually really good and lowkey one of my favorite parts of the meal. The chips that it came with were surprisingly also tasty and seasoned. The salsa had a bit of a kick to it. I also got a mango margarita which was decent when it was frozen but became progressively less desirable as it melted but that is entirely my fault. Restaurant is spacious with ample seating for small or large groups. They boast a large versatile menu, suitable for most palettes. Portions are big, so prepare to eat well, share a plate, or take home a doggy bag for later. Some items we tried that evening: - Tableside Chips & Salsa: Chips were lightly seasoned and salted. Salsa was a little bland, but not terrible. We did order a side of guac that happened to be a bit under seasoned. - Fajita Quesadilla: The chicken and veggies were chopped into large cubes and without enough cheese to bind the ingredients to the tortilla, everything fell apart. I ended up just making a salad with the fajitas and lettuce and tomatoes on the side of the plate. Aside from losing its structural integrity, the quesadillas were delicious. - Carne Asada: Again, BIG portions so be prepared to eat! Skirt steak was marinated well with bold flavor and the side accompaniments seemed to never end... the rice, beans, grilled street corn, and bacon wrapped jalapeno were filling. We came here as a party of 11 for a friend's birthday, and despite having a reservation and the restaurant being fairly empty, we still had a wait. Apparently there was only one area to place a party of that size, and they sat a smaller group there, so we had to wait. Not a big deal since we hung out at the bar and grabbed drinks, but it was definitely poor planning since about 80% of the restaurant was unoccupied. The drinks were good and were probably the best part of the whole experience. I ordered a spicy mezcal margarita and it was perfect. I like my margs extra spicy and this one definitely delivered. To eat, a friend and I split the empanadas and the chila-Dillas. The empanadas were extremely wet and soggy, so that was a disappointment, but the chila-Dillas were really good. Lots of flavor and a nice shareable portion size. Unfortunately, the most memorable part of this experience was the service. It was sooooo slow and our server, despite being nice, kept forgetting things like our drink orders, even though we reminded her more than once. It got so bad that we ended up having to go up to the bar and get them ourselves. Again, the restaurant was basically empty, so we couldn't quite figure out how the service was so poor. Once I ordered I didn't take too long for the food to come at all. Now the food honestly was bad it's just really didn't have many Mexican flavors to it to be honest. It was very Americanized Mexican food to me. The food was great but the service was terrible. Visited on 3/31 around 4pm. Our waitress was a younger woman with long blonde hair. Didnt get a name since she didnt introduce herself or greet us. We figured the service wasnt going to be great because she looked upset as we walked in and rolled her eyes at the hostess. She rolled her eyes at us a couple times as well. Wasnt friendly but wasnt rude just stand offish which isnt good when youre a waitress. It seemed like she was having a bad day but we really shouldnt have to suffer for that. I've been to 1810 multiple times now and everything I have tried has been delicious! Some favorites are the carnitas and quesa birria tacos, the cheesesteak burrito, the Godzilla burrito and the 1810 fajitas. For margaritas the La Niña Fresca, No Mames Wey and 1810 Passionfruit are my favorites. Highly recommend for a fun date or gathering with friends. Their happy hour is everyday from 2-7 pm which is awesome! Lots of great deals on their happy hour from margaritas, tacos, nachos and more!
