My Spawn joined me for a night of Mexican flavors when the stars aligned: Taco Tuesday and Cinco de Mayo landed on the same day! We went knowing that they would likely be super busy and adjusted our expectations accordingly. The parking lot was full, but their location has several adjacent parking lots that easily accommodate that. Luckily we were sat at a table in less than 30 mins. Service was slower as we expected for the day. We were able to give our food orders with our drink orders. The food was delicious and served nice and hot. They had a chips and salsa runner that was refilling tables pretty consistently. This was both good and bad... Good because chips, bad because I ate too many! I think we had 4 basket refills! They had a DJ in the outside seating area, a FREE photo booth, and several specials on the menu for the day. It was a fun and lively event and at one point they were offering shots to people. I happily took one! I have been on a regular day as a party of two and a party of 8 and have had fast and friendly service every time. read more

El Cabo was the place to be that night! They're located in Arlington near Regency. We've been here more than a few times but decided to stop in again for the first time in a while. We were coming from my company work party where we had some light bites so we went in knowing we would split something. We ordered the Choriqueso with our chips. We like their salsa but we wanted to supplement it with something else since we were going to split an entree. We split the Molcajete, which was the first time either of us have ever had this. Honestly, it tastes like the photo looks: a lot of meats, cheeses, peppers and sauces all bunched together, in a good way. We both liked that part a lot but my wife loved the sides. She always says this every time we come here, but they have her favorite refried beans in all of Jacksonville. Funny side note to the meal: at one point, I *thought* I was putting a regular ol' green pepper in my tortilla but it turns out it was a jalapeño. Anyone who's ever read my reviews knows that I was NOT prepared for that. My. Mouth. Was. On. Fire. And it was on was on fire for a WHILE. To be 100% clear, this was user error and not the fault of El Cabo. Came in and noon on a Saturday and there was no crowd which was great. We were seated promptly and chips and salsa were immediately on the table. The salsa was bland to me. We also ordered the small guacamole dip and it was also lacking flavor. My coconut margarita on the other hand, was great! For my main course I ordered chicken sopes with a side of rice and beans. Stopped in for a quick lunch and had such a great experience! I tried the Cabo burrito and it was delicious fresh, flavorful, and actually well-seasoned compared to a lot of other places. I don't want to give this restaurant a bad review because it was clean and had quick and friendly service, but I do feel the food was a bit bland for my liking. We were on a road trip home and because of the other reviews pictures of the burritos and street corn, I took an adventure out of our way to try this place. Even though my California burrito was not so flavorful, I did like the fact that they give us salsa and chips right as we sat down. Wonderful dinner here tonight! First time here and everything was good. Started with an "Aloha" margarita......sweet and refreshing. I had the burritos....chicken and beef. Excellent! Not very, but I'm ok with that. I'd rather have low heat and add my own, than deal with overly spicy food. The food was fresh and prepared very well. Service was outstanding! I have been saying that I was going to go here for quite some time and finally decided to stop in for lunch after the theater. Atmosphere was nice and it was a nice crowd for a rainy afternoon. I've been here twice now. First time was at 3pm on a Tuesday with some friends. And then, again, on Friday at 11am with some family. Both times, the service was fast and friendly. It wasn't too busy, maybe just a handful of tables each time we went. Very spacious. The first time I went, I got a California steak burrito. It was huge! So, of course, I had to take the rest home. It was delicious. And that's how we ended up going back. Haha. My Aunt had some of my leftover burrito and she liked it so much that she said she wanted to go for her birthday. Hahaha so we did. It's funny, when we went back the menu was different, it was an actual book, whereas the first time I went it was just a one page front and back menu. So that threw me off a little. I was like, "Wait, what happened here?" But, it's a good thing! The book had pictures! I like seeing the food, helps me choose better. Hahaha This time, I got the Birria Tacos. Oh my goodness! SO flavorful! And I liked that the shells weren't greasy, like some other places I've tried it. It also didn't just fall apart. SO good. And because a friend suggested I try the margaritas next time I go back, I went with the Aloha Margarita. Delicious! You could taste the juice and feel the tequila - haha. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She ensured that we never needed anything at our table and didn't come too often and prevent us from having a good conversation. The chips and salsa was spot on. Some places have salsa that is too chunky or too spicy, El Cabo's was delicious with just the right touch of spice. I ordered the Birria tacos and was happy did. We came to check out this newly opened restaurant. The wait staff greeted us at the door immediately and we were seated. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the fish tacos. They came with rice. They were bland and had a weird taste. I only ate 1 taco from the trio. Brian ordered the make your own combo: beef taco, chicken burrito, chicken enchilada. Everything was bland. The food was so flavorful and delicious. Good size portions. The lunch special burrito was stuffed with protein. All the tacos had a good balance of stuffing to taco ratio. The service was very nice and they went above and beyond by bringing water for my pup. They have seating indoors and outdoors with shading. Good size parking area. Oh and try the horchata! This place prob doesn't get the credit it deserves since it is in a strip mall. Delicious food & excellent service, Arrived an hour before closing and was welcomed despite the time. Our waiter was incredible at explaining the options and offering suggestions. We ordered the guacamole which was made in front of us. Delicious! We also ordered a variety of the burritos he recommended. They're definitely shareable, tasty and filling. Lastly, our children wanted to try churros and everyone loved them. I had Cabo Quesadillas (grilled chicken), with sides of rice, lettuce, topped with sour cream and tomatoes. My wife had a taco salad with ground beef. We both left there happy with the attentive service (Mary, with a smile and sweet spirit) and great (good portions, as well) food. As a side note, the bathrooms were well maintained (aka clean). I came here because we wanted a good margarita and they did not disappoint. We got a jalapeno and an aloha margarita that were both delicious. The jalapeno was spicy but not overwhelmingly so. Make sure when you order a margarita you specify the size otherwise they'll give you a large lol. For an appetizer we got tye street corn off the cob and it had a nice char and was seasoned well. We also got al pastor, chorizo, and steak tacos. The chorizo was my fave and steak could have used more flavor. California burrito was nice and flavorful and the cheese sauce it came covered in wasn't bland. and the plate it comes on is hot so be careful. The Cabo Cheesesteak was good as well, had a nice balance of meat and vegetables. For dessert we got the churros and they were nice and crispy. This place is a pretty decent size the waitress was very nice and we got our food fairly quickly. I had 3 tacos al pastor with corn tortillas, which came with a side of rice and beans, and an horchata. Although the horchata was on the sweeter side for me I still enjoyed it. El Cabo is such a nice find. The food was fresh and flavorful, and you can really tell they use quality ingredients. I had the shrimp tacos and they were some of the best I've had in Florida. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. It's the kind of place you can go to for a casual lunch or an easy dinner with friends. The restaurant is fairly new and is very spacious and clean with a good ambiance. The service is decent and I really want to like it more than I do. We've come twice now and I've had ok food, nothing to get excited about except their beans and guacamole are very good. Today I got the chicken fajitas and the chicken was flavorless but the vegetables and guacamole made it palatable. My husband has disliked his meal both times today he got chicken with chorizo and he said it was dry and way too spicy. He likes spicy food but today it wasn't palatable. We let the waitress know when she asked and her response was that it definitely is hot but she didn't offer to get an alternate menu item. She was nice but pretty clueless on customer service. Came here for dinner and my experience got worse and worse while I sat there. Our waitress kept coming and pressuring us to order even though we were the only table in her section at 5 pm on a Sunday. We got chips and salsa with queso and guacamole, which there was hair in the salsa. After we ordered, another waitress came over and started to clear our chips and salsa we were done with and took all our unopened silverware off the table thinking we were done being served. We got the Molcajete fajitas which tasted alright but was super disappointed since they are more expensive than the other fajitas and after watching others around me get delivered the regular ones they had way more food that looked better. This dish is a cool way to serve but my fajitas were like a soup that I couldn't even dish onto my plate. Had barely any peppers in the dish and the few I found were basically raw and not cooked like a fajita pepper. After I finished the waitress gave me a box then I waited 10 minutes for anyone to come back and give me a check, which I had to walk over to her while she was ringing up another check just to hopefully get it handled. This is a standard mexican restaurant. It is still new so it is very clean and bright. The service is friendly and attentive. The house margarita uses Topaz tequila and is a premade punch. (not made to order) Not a complaint, just general information. The food is good. Takes a couple extra minutes to cook, not sure if that is a staffing issue but the food does not come quick after ordering. I had the platillo del mar, fish and shrimp. The fish (fried tilapia) was hot and crispy. The shrimp was grilled and had a nice crust. I will be back. read more
