The food here is pretty good. I had the carnitas tacos. You can get them American style or Mexican style. I chose Mexican, which is meat, onions, and cilantro. I love this. Our server spoke very little English. We asked about bell pepper in the chicken. We explained that my wife is terribly allergic. She said no. When her meal came out, we immediately saw bell pepper. The man who brought the food was terribly apologetic and told her he would get her a new plate right away with ground beef. She was good with that. Or drinks stayed empty most of the time, and we had to run the server down to get the bill. All in all, the food was great but the service was bad.

I ordered from Cinco de Mayo on DoorDash. They're only about a mile out for me so it was super fast and the food was hot. I'm not gonna lie first time that I had birria tacos, where the meat was very fatty. I've never ordered from them before it was not that flavorful. They did give complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is the watery style versus the chunky style, but I prefer and they didn't give any spicy salsa which sometimes comes with birria tacos. The consume was more oil than soup. Overall not satisfied.

A group of us after playing kickball have been going to this restaurant in DTJ for quite a few months now they are always quick with the chips and salsa and their service is fast.Their two for one house. Margaritas are always refreshing. The restaurant has unique decor and is always inviting.

This is a nice place to eat in. They have many booths and a decent bar area. The food portions are massive, especially the burritos. Mine weighed like 2 lbs. it's also worth mention that they cook their protein. To order, so none of the meats are dried out from sitting around. It's a solid choice for lunch or dinner before or after a game.

Service is attentive and polite, service is efficient, plates are always full, food is always hot and yummy, the location is ideal and hours are great. Traditional Mexican restaurant vibes.

Excellent food and service!!! Enjoyed the view and location of restaurant. Must try for authentic Mexican food. Parking on a busy night not that great but that's downtown. Check it out and give a try!!!

On a sweltering summer day, we ducked into Cinco De Mayo for an early dinner. First thing we noticed was the absolutely wonderful air conditioning! The only thing better than the air conditioning was the food. We got the fish tacos (grouper and mahi-mahi, flaky, tender and flavorful with crisp, fresh fillings (and lots of jalapeños) and a huge plate of chile rellenos with shredded chicken and a heaping mound of delicious rice and beans. Smooth and satisfying, so good! We also got a side of grilled veggies to make ourselves feel better, and they were delicious! Cinco de Mayo serves up delicious, authentic Mexican fare in a cool environment out of the heat of a Jacksonville summer. Definitely give it a try!

Service at the bar was great. Food arrived faster than expected, but I had also got there as their night was winding down. My friends and I were originally going to eat here for Cinco de Mayo, but when I got there at 6:45, I was told it would be a 3.5 hour wait. They had a DJ outside pumping out fast and upbeat music for the party and an outside margarita stand for grab and go drinks. When I arrived back just after 9, I had told them to take us off the list. She informed me that they tried calling me. Nothing came through on my phone, but she did show her call log and sure enough, it showed they called me around 8:20. My friends and I probably would have stayed to eat here originally had we been given a more realistic wait time guesstimate. An hour and a half wait vs 3.5 hours is much more feasible. Oh well. I'm sure I'll be back in the future. I've always enjoyed Anejo.

Greeted and sat right away- 5 of us. Hostess nice, server nice. Right away had two large bowls of chips and two types of salsa brought to us. Chips were good, just added salt. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. And we were patient, super patient. It was a Friday, but it was not overly crowded, like I said - seated immediately around 7:40. Drinks, took over 30 minutes for a pineapple one and three skinny- we joked the food would arrive first, but we were very wrong. Then, the waitress waited for us to try- I think it was a newer person at the bar. We tried to like it, but somehow it tasted like flat sprite.our server took them away and made us them herself. Now, those were great. Small side of guac was brought after that- meant to go with the meal, but we were so hungry we just ate with the chips. It was very good- fresh tasting. Then we waited. And waited some more. Asked about the food, then waited some more. Finally, we cut our losses and asked for the check minus the food that never came. The band was starting next door and we wanted to celebrate the bday girl. Pic 1, text just after 8pm- shows me joking that I was going to eat my friends food since she was headed over from next door and taking a bit and we had ordered 10 minutes prior. Pic 2, text shows us giving up- 9pm. So over an hour wait on food that never arrived - even if busy that would be a deal breaker. We were excited to try it too- disappointed.

To me it had more of a chain restaurant feel, kind of like something you'd get at Chili's rather than a more authentic Mexican spot. Drinks were mixed for us. My wife had margaritas and enjoyed them, honestly I don't think she's ever met a margarita she didn't like. I tried the Old Fashioned, which just wasn't my style. The floors were sticky and our shoes stuck to the floor. The women's restroom was out of order. The kiosks seem like a good idea but nobody there to ask questions or to get your drinks. If you can catch one of the two people working as they bring out orders you are lucky. The menus on the kiosks are pretty informative though and tell the ingredients for each item. Kiosk automatically adds 20% tip unless you change it. Considering you don't have any interaction with employees until they bring out your order other tipping options might apply. They cook to order which is nice except you don't get your drinks or your appetizers until it's your turn. There is a comment section to type no tomatoes or special instructions. Mine still came out with tomatoes but they promptly remade it for me. The food is pretty good. No complaints there other than having to remake one of my tacos. The chips and queso was pretty good. Chips were dusted with spices and served hot. We tried 6 different tacos and they were all very good. The tortillas were toasted on the grill which makes a big difference. You can get flour or corn tortillas. The chicken and steak were marinated before grilling and were big cubes and plentiful. The menu has a pretty big variety including a kids menu with chicken and fries. The last comment is their fountain machine for drinks. The coke tasted off. They may need to recalibrate it. Drinks are served in small clear throw away cups and the lids don't fit very well. Refills are hard to get. You have to wait for someone to come out of the back.
