Yelp for the win! Staying at a hotel down the road and found this gem on Yelp...it didn't disappoint! Amazing bagels, wonderful service, and a good price. Being from a "bagel" area, I'll call myself a snob, and these absolutely hit the mark! The sausage, egg and cheese on an everything bagel is a breakfast chef's kiss! The only thing missing was the option for pork roll. If you're in the area, make this a breakfast stop for sure! Try the pomegranate seltzer too - the fresh juices make the difference.

This local chain has several locations. This is the one closest to the university. It is fairly large for a bagel place, with indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is broad, and while it includes many things that I wouldn't eat, it is excellent from the perspective of someone who doesn't really do eggs, offering a local lentil-based veggie burger that I like, as well as hummus and some other vegetable options if one wants to build a bagel sandwich. I like adding watercress. I also got some bagels to go, which was a mistake simply in the sense that I had to deal with the aroma of them while I stored them for another day, which is quite mouthwatering. These are small bagels, but they are not expensive and they deliver a nuanced flavor.

These bagels were....disappointing. They really don't live up to the hype. Hate to say it but...even the famous Montreal bagels were better than these. The prices were great though!

Do you ever go to a restaurant that you used to love only to find it's not as good as you remember? I don't know if the food got worse or the memories better. THAT HAS NOT HAPPENED FOR BODOS!! My wife and I moved away 28 years ago and go back every time we visit Charlottesville. Bodo's has stayed GREAT!! We joke that we drive back just for Bodo's. It is partly a joke, partly serious! And I don't like bagels from anywhere else! I get the smoked salmon/whitefish salad on an everything bagel with a slice of American (or cheddar). SOOOOO GREAT!! My life likes the egg salad on a sesame bagel but we also love the other options!! This time, they had a soup - shrimp and corn chowder with roasted bell peppers - WONDERFUL!! This is a gem of a place that you need to try. It's nothing fancy, just wonderful food!

Best bagel ever! Honestly if you're thinking of going just go. I got the Lox and chives cream cheese on an everything bagel with purple onions and tomatoes. Chefs kiss There wasn't a line when I got there (about 11 am on a Friday) but right after I sat down the line was almost out the door. So plan accordingly if you're short on time

Bodo's Bagels on The Corner is a well oiled machine. They are well known for being the busiest and.best! But they are crazy busy when school is in session. The volume they run through is staggering. Parking is challenging! You can park off street my meter, or nearby garage on Elliewood. My one visit was excellent during a weekday morning. It was packed with a line to the door. A bit intimidating, but I hung in there and was shocked how fast the line moved. The staff was friendly as I looked at the menu board, I decided on a pastrami with Swiss cheese on an everything bagel. The checkout was smooth and an amazing value. There is no tipping. When it came to waiting it's a bit hectic, listening for your order. In less than 10 minutes my order was called. The dining room was mostly full, but I found a table to eat in. I found the area clean. My sandwich was phenomenal! Everything was fresh and delicious. They are self bussing. Absolutely will be back.

The Bodo's on the corner is so convenient. It's cheap, fantastic and quick. Highly recommend if you're on grounds. I tried the Ceasar salad this last time and it was amazing!

Like every nerdy kid that grew up in Northern Virginia, I've been to Charlottesville dozens of times for things like summer camps or state academic contests (lol), and every time I HAVE to get a bagel from Bodo's. I can never decide what to get, but the egg, ham, and cheddar on a sesame bagel is probably one of my favorites. It's soft, fresh, and chewy, and it's everything a bagel should be. I would do a LOT of things to have a lox bagel from there right now as I'm writing this review, though.

I love Bodo's, but I am going to start a business standing outside with a toaster oven. How much would you pay me to toast your bagel?

I'm mentioning this because the amount of breakfast places with shit coffee is wild. So not only good food, but excellent coffee. Brioche French toast bananas foster - the bananas foster syrup was the bomb. Nutella and Strawberry Crepes - they were huge and so good! Chicken and Waffles- fried crispy bone in chicken is yue only way to go. My teen son eat every crumb. Avocado Toast with egg and smoked salmon - my husband loved it. Avocado Egg Bake - cooked perfectly and so good. Buttermilk pancakes for fluffy and great flavor. They offer real maple syrup, bananas foster syrup if you're fancy and then regular (fake) syrup.

Make a reservation, but there's also a little grab and go spot right when you walk in. Breakfast cocktails were yummy! I didn't feel guilty having a chocolate espresso martini for breakfast:) Bananas Foster Beignets was ridiculous! Benedict options were so unique. I recommend asking questions to make sure you're getting what you want. Hindsight I would have added protein to the green tomato Benedict. We also got a bowl that was much more like a salad and not like a hearty bowl. All were delicious, just not what was expected. We would return for sure!

The bar, front desk, valet and pool just steps away. The staff were like family and accommodations very comfortable. Many thanks to Antonio at the desk/valet, Tyler the bar manager and Tyler Cupec Director of Rooms for making it a trip worthy of a not only a 5 star review but also a future return as well.

Squeaky clean hardwood floors all over. Tasteful old furniture. Every staff member I spoke to was polite, courteous, and happy to help. The self serve stations for hot coffee, tea, and cold water was a convenient resource outside of the door. This inn appears to be made of several former homes that were turned into a campus of buildings making the Oakhurst Inn. It's not a single building. The small lawn in the center of the complex has benches, hammock, and a fireplace that seems welcoming and nice, but I wasn't aware of them until I left. There were a few problems during my stay. The inn requires guests to use valet parking which is $40 per night, not disclosed before my stay, and often required a long wait for the valet to return. This makes it hard to retrieve anything you need from your car. The front desk staff are often missing from the front desk - I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come back and check me in on arrival. Likewise, the bartender is often away from station and you might wait 10 or 30 minutes for the bartender to return. There is no mini fridge or microwave in the hotel rooms. The pool area was extremely dark at night, making it tricky or dangerous to navigate. The pool water was lukewarm, not warm at all. The sauna was out of order and the doorway was small and obscured by chairs. Not accessible and difficult to find. This inn has no gym. The lobby is very small and has no seating for guests or places to hang their luggage, although the nearby lounge has a few leather couches and a fireplace that doesn't appear to be working. Not the most welcoming or convenient. Overall I don't think it's worth the hefty price tag and would stay elsewhere when I return to Charlottesville.
