I found Village Pilates on ClassPass and booked the "beginner mat" class the night before. Getting there- There is meter parking right in front of the studio and you ring the doorbell for an instructor to let you in. As a first timer, they asked me to fill out a waiver upon walking inside. They ask for some generic information like birthdate and home address, but they also have a space where you can notify them of any injuries or health needs that should be known before taking the class. When I wrote that I had scoliosis, Len checked in with me and said I should let him know if I feel any pain during class so that he can provide me a modification. The experience- I was pleasantly surprised by my ability to follow the instructors sequence and pacing. "Len" was the instructor for the beginner mat class. He was super patient and helpful in correcting any errors in my form in a kind and respectful way. Overall a great experience and I can't wait to go back!

I was an aerialist for five years, but I have been out of practice (and out of shape!) for the better part of the last three years, following the birth of my youngest. Because I have lost a great deal of strength, finding a studio and instructor who can scaffold instruction is important to me. Rise, and owner/instructor Carrie delivered. The aerial flow class is adaptable to all levels of strength and experience. Carrie breaks down poses and demonstrates to ensure all students understand the mechanics of each pose. It was easy to feel comfortable and confident, and to feel some muscle memory returning. I signed up for a membership and look forward to adding these classes to my fitness regimen. Sometimes my lower back hurts just laying on the ground so her class gave me support in a way with the props so I can really relax my body. I was greeted when I came in by Nancy. She gave me instructions on what props to bring in by the best of her memory since sometimes the instructor changes it up. I thought for a hot yoga studio. They did make sure to cool down the room very fast for restorative yoga. I've been at other hot yoga studios where the room was still hot like you were doing a hot yoga and I didn't want that sweat. I just really wanted the stretch. I'm definitely going to come back!

It is a very warm no judgement environment. Every client's wellbeing and need is the priority. They will not turn anyone away because of money. I have NEVER seen any other place do this!! They offer sliding scale options to work with what the client can afford. Counselors have various specialities including, art, trauma, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, LGBTQ, addictions, couples, families and the list goes on!!! They also have night and weekend office times so it is easy to work with your schedule. If you are looking for a place for counseling I highly reccomend CSA! You can fill out new client paperwork and choose the option "Help me find the right therapist" and Tammy Bobel will provide suggested therapists to choose from who might best fit your needs. Her studio is a little hard to find because it's tucked away in an old school gym called the Functional Athlete. Use the door on the West side and you've found a hidden gem!!
