I typically leave energized and not sleepy. The massage quality is at par with what one would expect for this modality. I have no complaints here. The only setback is the service rate. This place, perhaps due to lack of competition, is pricey. This has prevented me from coming regularly. That said, if you've never had a Thai massage before and are curious about what makes it different--while not planning to visit Thailand soon, or any other state where there are more spas offering this service--then do visit Thai Tranquility Bodywork. It's worth being familiar with Thai massage, and this place does a good job.

So I decided to pull the trigger on Still Point Massage. Much to my delight Michaela had an evening appointment available that night which I didn't waste any time booking. As others have written, the atmosphere Michaela has created is absolutely serene. She made me feel right at home and totally comfortable right from our introduction. Michaela takes the time to ask about your discomforts and really gets to know you which I loved. It made the whole experience feel much more personal and much less "business owner/client." Michaela explains everything she is doing throughout the massage and makes sure you are 100% comfortable for the duration. The massage itself was amazing and Michaela is without a doubt the real deal. She has been in the field for a long time and it shows. My shoulders and neck instantly felt 10x better (along with the rest of my body) and continue to now, two weeks after my visit to Still Point! Unfortunately, the facility has hit a bit of a decline lately. What used to be impeccably dry, clean floors are now prone to dust and hairballs, and it's gotten so wet in the wet sauna areas that they've just started putting out "caution" signs instead of actually keeping it dry. I've seen quite a few people slip. Even the "unlimited" towel perk has been downgraded to a strict two-towel limit, and the food portions and quality have shrunk exponentially compared to the cost they charge it at. That being said, there is one major saving grace: the Korean auntie who does the body scrubs. She is an absolute legend and deserves a massive raise for everything she puts up with! She's the main reason the experience still feels somewhat authentic and worth driving to. The rooms are also on the smaller side, so if you go during peak hours, it's definitely more "crowded" than "calm." Honestly, the only reason I still make the trip is that it's the only K-spa within a reasonable driving distance from Boston. If there were more local options, I'd probably skip the decline here and head straight to NJ or NYC for a higher-quality experience. It's still a decent option if you're desperate for a scrub and a soak without the four-hour drive, but I really miss the high standards they had at the beginning.

He was dry rubbing me it was not relaxing at all. At one point he left the door open while people were in the parlor and I was in my underwear I had to look up so he would shut the door. Also, I never got my foot massage. I still tipped over 20 % but i probably wouldn't return unless a manager reached out and offered me another massage with a different masseur. Also, the people waiting were so loud and no one asked them to lower the voices. They literally were talking the whole time loudly until they man and woman went into their appointment and then were quiet. It was just over all bad experience.

I had a bad experience with a previous Groupon massage at another business and though I saw the great reviews for Body Kneads, I didn't let myself get excited about it just in case it wasn't good. It turned out to be one of the best massages I have ever had. Chris was superb - I had a lot of issues going on and he somehow managed to address most of them in just an hour. I liked that he gave me pointers to help resolve some of the soreness by myself, and how to prevent it in the future. The location was easy to get to off 195, had plenty of space for parking, and the house was warm and cozy. The whole experience was therapeutic and relaxing. I will definitely go back as finances allow. As other reviewers have mentioned, bring cash for the tip. read more

I just had a great experience here and absolutely recommend it! I scheduled a 30-minute upper body massage and took Yelp's advice and asked specifically for Christopher. I'm so glad I did! The massage was excellent and he gave me additional tips for stretches to help with my neck and shoulder tension. Afterward, he told me about the 15% student discount and the $10 off services for bringing in three canned goods for the RI Community Food Bank. Their prices are very affordable (especially by my "grad student" standards") and the service is wonderful. With a discount on top of that, how can you refuse? I went to Body Kneads for the first time last week and I've been in and around Providence off and on for at least 5 years! I had a great time when I went. Katherine massaged me and she was wonderful! Her candor was great and she was hospitable. She paid attention to my needs and gave me great advice about how to take care of myself beyond her massage. She's also pleasantly conversational. We talked easily even when she was booking my next appointment (I'm going again, duh). The house is very clean and the ambiance is relaxing. JoHannah has helped me so much! I was having pain in my wrists so booked a hand reflexology session. In addition to the sessions, JoHannah gave me a couple of exercises I could do to help myself. There has been so much improvement. Anyone who works with her hands should have a hand reflexology session! Last week I was limping when I went to my appt. and asked what she could do to help with my knee situation. In addition to massage, JoHannah did kineseology taping. Wow! what an improvement! I have been going to Body Kneads for a few years now and have never had a bad experience. The owner and staff are friendly and professional and always make me feel welcome. On days I have arrived stressed/frazzled, I have been offered tea before my massage and they have put my mind at ease. The atmosphere is perfect - beautiful rooms, relaxing music, warm tables with soft linens, and heaters when necessary. I always leave feeling incredibly wonderful and relaxed. Best massage I've had. I have alot of deep knots and often feel a little dissapointed that they were not addressed as much as I would like them to be but not with Chris! He somehow found a way to create a relaxing experience while still applying deep enough pressure to my problem areas (mostly neck and shoulder blade area). I have seen Christopher here a few times and loved the experience every time. I was apprehensive to have a male therapist at first, but found myself completely comfortable. He applies great amount of pressure, makes it very relaxing, and fixes my aching back every time I go, easily finding and focusing on my sore spots. I had a massage by Amber and I couldn't have been happier with her and the results. I wasn't there to relax but to work out the kinks in a very stiff, almost immobile shoulder and she was excellent. Frank is the epitome of a professional, knowledgeable, and respectful healer. I have chronic neck pain/headaches and numbness/tingling in my hands from hunching over a computer. Frank is very attentive to my reasons for coming in, and will shape the massage around what I want to get out of it (for all of you who like someone who will push hard to get those knots, Frank's your guy! yet will never bring you past your edge). Frank is SO smart about the body. It makes me feel empowered to have a massage therapist who clearly knows neurological and muscular system-- Frank will tell you exactly WHY it is that certain areas of my body hurt, and communicate what he's encountering during the massage. He always sends me with stretches and techniques for alleviating any symptoms, which means my body is happy for much longer than a day or two after the massage. Other perks are that you get to pick the music, and the staff & other therapists are always really lovely. Go here!
