I thought it might be associated with a previous and ongoing shoulder injury. So was told by the good doctor it would probably take 2 or more weeks to get in. I got in in 4 days on Easter Sunday no less. Yes, MRI appointment on Easter. I took it. I noticed one of my images on the screen on my way out and upon looking at it real quick I noticed my left side is the side jacked up with potential pinched nerves. Not my right. A few days later a massive rash appeared on my arm and I was diagnosed with shingles that attacked the nerve. Not jacked up shoulder. Not a pinched nerve. But shingles. So appointment scheduling was great. Wait time once there was quick. MRI took as long as necessary. Staff was nice. There were no wheel chairs or other metallic stuff to join me in the MRI tube so that was nice. Waited about 10 minutes for a DVD of the results and out of there. Parking was close.

Implement web based scheduling, hire more people, or figure out a way to help existing staff move more quickly through the queue. I have scheduled here before. It is not that complicated. Driving over there is the only workable alternative. Seriously office manager - solve this or find someone who will! So I finally got the call back about 10 minutes after posting this. Very nice agent and the entire scheduling process took two or three minutes. She said the queue was 100 deep. Pretty strong argument for hiring more people.

Soooooo slow Ended…read moreup being stuck there for 1 hour before they could check me in because they needed to call my doctor for a proper diagnosis why I'm getting an x-ray. Then once I actually was checked in, waiting for the xray took forever and I had to leave early and come back on another date. It was very annoying, though at least I eventually got the xray done.

I am an older woman, disabled with a paralyzed leg and I use a cane. I went in for some knee X-rays…read moreand had the AWFUL misfortune to get an older man named "Ken," as my technician. I told him five times that my leg was paralyzed and not once did he acknowledge that I had spoken. What planet is this man from? When someone has a disability, ESPECIALLY in healthcare, you say you're sorry to hear that, and ask how you can help them. At one point, I couldn't get my leg into the position needed, (because it's paralyzed) and he actually YELLED AT ME!!! I haven't been screamed at like that in years. It was appalling. I was shaking all over. I reported the incident to the young gal at the X-ray desk, who was very nice, and she was shocked. The three people in the waiting room were all men and they were scandalized to hear that a disabled lady with paralysis had been yelled at. The nice desk girl gave me his supervisor's name: Jean Mufty. I called her and at first she defended him, saying he had a hearing problem. I said this was nothing to do with hearing loss. Then, she switched tacks and apologized. But she never once asked for my phone number so she didn't care enough to report back to me. In fact she she kept saying that he wasn't normally at this location as though that made a difference! As a disabled person, I am APPALLED that Alta Bates/Summit would employ such a man. What if I had depression or was fighting cancer? His yelling at me might have put me over the edge! HOW can a healthcare company employ such a person and HOW can he be allowed to talk to a disabled patient this way? If you have complaints about the staff here, the supervisor is: Jean Mufty, Manager, Outpatient Imaging 510-610-1478.

The appointment only took about 15 minutes for me, I scheduled it on the same day and then pulled up 5 minutes before the appointment. Staff took care of me and helped me adjust my positioning to get the most accurate scan. I got my results within a few hours online and I saw a full breakdown of my fat percentage, lean mass, bone density, etc... I would say it was a good value for the price and you can find discount codes online if you do some research (or use an LLM). Parking is kind of a pain though.

So, I decided to get a Dexa scan so that I could verify whether or not my Hume Bodypod scale was as…read moreaccurate as Hume Health claimed. I'll cut to the chase and tell you it was surprisingly accurate, and within the margin of error, although Dexa is the "gold standard." I won't bore you with the metrics but I will bore you with the experience. First off, the location for the mobile service has ample parking and was conveniently located. The mobile van was clean, the technician - Suhban Khan was very professional and knowledgeable. Like myself, he was also a fitness coach and had solid knowledge not only with Dexa but also the leading body composition measurement devices on the market and smart scales. We had a good chat and I interviewed him briefly for the YouTube channel. If you want to watch, here's the link: https://youtu.be/eJ9x2bf5QHA?si=sytHprsQ9ydwYn-R The scan took about 10 minutes time, with 6 minutes for the scan. You just wear light, loose clothing and lay back, while the scanner passes from your head to your feet. It moves a fraction every 30 seconds. The van was mostly quiet with ambient music - felt very much like any medical setting. Is this a necessary experience for everyone? No. For most people seeking general health I would recommend getting the good habits of proper nutrition, exercise and proper rest before worrying about getting a Dexa but...it will help keep you accountable to your goals and honestly, the subscription service is pretty affordable. I enjoyed my experience and will check in again in a few months.

It is a terrible idea.. given that this quest diagnostics is in the heart of Chinatown.. with many middle age folks to elderly seniors who have a barrier with the technology..... sure, you can switch the language to Chinese but... that doesn't work for everyone. Fortunately for me, I asked one of the technicians when she was getting someone when I needed help because I didn't bring the insurance card and it kept asking me to scan the card.. I had the insurance info on the referral sheet though. The technician helped me and said I have to press "no" to consent since I don't have it. Then, I checked in. SHE KNEW THAT.. BUT HOW IS ANYONE ELSE SUPPOSED TO??? Completely not her fault at all! She's probably had to STOP what she's doing and help so much people... Then, I started helping some seniors because THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE MACHINES... OR THEIR VISION IS SO BAD THEY CANNOT READ THE TEXT...
