Treated my mom with care. It was crowded not enough chairs but I didn't mind standing as long as my mom had somewhere to sit that's all that mattered. They were very accommodating & patient. Technician was careful with her & nice. Overall good experience. read more

It should not take an hour and 20 minutes to get someone on the phone to schedule an appointment. I called twice today and waited 20 minutes on hold before giving up the first time. I called back shortly after and stuck it out for an hour before someone finally picked up and scheduled my appointment. The last time I had to deal with NorCal Imaging was five years ago, when I was put into an endless back and forth between them and my (admittedly awful) urologist just to get an appointment then, too. Both parties kept claiming that the other was at fault; NCI kept insisting the doctor's office hadn't sent over some necessary paperwork while the doctor's office kept insisting that they did. It was unclear to me why they couldn't just contact one another instead of making me the middle man, requiring countless calls during my workday just to get two groups of supposed professionals to coordinate, get their acts together, and schedule a freaking appointment. Not a good sign that things don't seem to have improved, but have gotten worse on the communication front in the last five years. read more

First of all I couldn't see the name on the door in the dark, so it took me a few times passing up the entrance before I figured it out. The receptionist was very nice and kind, she had a great attitude for 6:30am. I'd give her an A+. When I was called to the back to start my MRI...the tech was very dry. I said good morning, how is your morning? just trying to small talk. The responses was so dry and I already was nervous as heck and the dryness was helping. I know that everyone isn't a morning person, but they sure as heck need to be a people person working in the medical industry. Kindness and being pleasant goes a long way. I'm just saying. I'm an healthcare worker and I don't need to be taught how to treat people. You never know what people are going through and how tiny acts of kindness can brighten someone day. read more

All I want to do is make an appointment. Day 1, I was on hold for 20+ minutes, they finally answered and said they hadn't received the referral yet - couldn't make an appointment. I offered to email them the referral and they said they only take referrals via fax. No one has had a fax machine in their house since the late 90's. What are we doing? Day 2, I am still on hold after an hour waiting for someone to answer the phone. I have received imaging here before and though I did have to wait around 30 minutes after my appointment time to be seen (and I did arrive early), the staff behind the door was very friendly and quick. I don't know what's wrong with their scheduling service, but it is abysmal and clearly not a concern for management given the amount of poor reviews online. read more

You guys need to improve everything you should not have to wait an hour and a half just to get an appointment that should take no longer than five or 10 minutes. All you doing is making an appointment. They will have you standing in line while they keep looking at you and doing stuff on the computer instead of clearing out the office and handle the rest later they don't even acknowledge that you're standing there and then when they do get to you they holler from behind the window. Why are you standing in line instead of saying you may step to the window basically they are not discreet or private And I don't like that asking me what I'm there for and then started saying different things that I might be there for instead of letting me step to the window what happened to pay patient confidentiality oh don't call there's a wait there also read more

Trying to obtain an appt is near impossible. On hold for 25 minutes this morning and gave up. Called again an hour later and on hold 30 minutes listening to the same advertisement over and over. The third time I called someone pickup after 18 minutes. Ridiculous way to run a business. If there was an option I will go there. read more

First of all very hard to make an appointment never pick up the phone, finally make an appointment 2 weeks later so got there 15 mins before my appointment time so waited & waited over 2 hrs. Needs better management. I wouldn't give any stars. read more

Yes. It is nearly impossible to make an appointment. Yes, I spent actual HOURS on hold. But man was it worth it. I am actually phobic of the MRIs. I'm not claustrophobic. It's the machines themselves. I'm petrified of them. I can't even discuss them without getting dizzy. MRI before last I ripped my arm out of the thing bracing me for the machine (I have a lovely scar to show for it), vomited, and passed out. I had to get my head examined this time. And that's even scarier. I was being my usual big baby. I cried when I saw the machine. I almost fainted. But the women who were working were on top of it. One asked me questions about my fears and then explained things to me. One gave me 100 reassurances that they would come running if I pressed the buzzer. I started whimpering when I heard the noise so one of the women gave me ear plugs. I have never made it out of an MRI without my eyes hurting from crying before this one. These women made me truly trust them to be watching out for me. And while I'm still terrified of the machine, I trusted the women running it and because of that was able to be actually pretty calm for the hour I was in there. I didn't even know that was possible. read more

Can't book an appointment, no one picks up the phone! How is this place still in business??

WHEN: Tue @8am I was disappointed to learn that NorCal Imaging does not take appointments for x-rays (at this location at least), so when I asked when would be the best time to come, they said at 8am when they open. They do walk-ins only and it would have been a 45 minute wait if I showed up the day before in the afternoon. Anyway, I did what was suggested, and arrived at 7:55am. There was plenty of free parking. They will have signs that states ONE HOUR PARKING which is fine, because I was in and out in a total of 45 minutes. I thought I was early, but it turns out they open earlier for people to sign in, and it looks like there were 2 people already ahead of me! There was maybe 5 others in the waiting room, keeping their distance. I appreciate how there are signs and markers on the floor to remind patience to keep their distance. All staff are masked. After signing in, and filling out paperwork (clearly highlighted where I need to fill out), I waited maybe 10 minutes until my name was called. I had some x-rays done, it was super quick and easy. Radiologist didn't even diagnose my fracture. Report said no fracture seen, everything normal. I saw the fracture on the xray MYSELF! Such a waste of money and time! Orthopedic doctor confirmed my suspicions. read more

I'm on the other line now and it's going on almost an hour just to get someone to pick up the phone are you kidding me ? TLDR: Inefficient system, rude receptionist, will make you wait & waste your time. Go elsewhere! Friendly staff in person but I've called handful of times to make an appointment and they rarely answer the phone. When they do answer, they interrupt you while speaking and put you on hold for up to an hour. This happened 4 times. Once where they hung up on me while I was waiting on hold after 45 minutes. I was so tired of having my time wasted on the phone, I walked in to make an appointment. There was a long line and when it was finally my turn, staff only lets you "check in" just to dismiss you again to wait another 45 minutes before it's actually your turn just to make an appointment. At least they were friendly but have a really inefficient system. My last phone call with them, a staff was in the middle of making an appointment for me and all of sudden put me on hold without saying anything as I was telling her which date worked for me. I was on hold for another 15 minutes until another staff answered and had to restart the entire appointment request. I had to give her all my info again. It's like the first staff just hung up, went to lunch, and made another coworker finish her work without even telling her. She sounded like she hated her job. Very unprofessional. Considering the other reviews, it seems like it's the same employee who's ruining it for everyone. I hope her manager realizes and gives her a warning. If it's her last warning, NorCal Imaging will be a better place without this particular staff dragging her team down. PS: Looks like the check in/wait system has been long broken. Incompetent manager still haven't fixed it for so long. Get it together guys!! read more

Initially, I would not have given a four star review of this facility due to the scheduling difficulties I had to deal with. I was scheduled to wait more than a month for an MRI due to an injury. I was referred to this facility as I have a special titanium implant inside my body that was only compatible with the MRI at this facility. I was supposed to be called if they had a cancellation and was on a wait list. However I never received a call. Two days before my scheduled appointment, I was called to cancel both of my scheduled MRI's. I was elevated to a supervisor named Rebecca. I can't speak more highly of her professionalism. She turned a bad experience into a very good experience with one phone call. I was patient as was she through the process, but she was able to easily get me scheduled within a few days and both of my scans went smoothly at another facility that was compatible with my device. I told her I wanted to give her a customer compliment, which seemed to surprise her as most people just want to complain. Rebecca deserves a big pat on the back as she clearly knows how to do her job and diffuse an angry customer. I appreciate all that she did to make my experience with NorCal Imaging a more positive experience. Cheers to you Rebecca! read more

Was here for an appointment, after arriving on time as instructed, I waited for more than an hour in the waiting room. I then asked why I was waiting so long. .The receptionist said it will be another 1/2 hour. I said no way that's ridiculous please find out why. Then I was immediately taken back for my appointment. The employee told me, that "the big bosses came 1/2 hour ago and called me into a meeting while you were waiting." Also during this time, every person that came into the waiting room was treated like crap by the receptionist if they did not arrive 1/2 hour before their appointment time. Now, I have a virus after going 5 years without getting sick. The waiting room was full of unhealthy looking people who were coughing. This place is a joke. They treat people like garbage because there is no other imaging place in the area besides NorCal. read more

My physician sent in a fax for an MRI of my back two days ago and said to wait a day before calling to be sure it was in the system. Called yesterday, on breaks twice as it took over 20 minutes on hold so couldn't stay on the first time, and they had no record. So I called my physician to resend. They resent twice so a total of three requests. Just finished this last call. They still have no request and said they'd fax my doctors office and ask them to call in (which I could have done). he woman I spoke with asked what kind of MRI and I said my back. She wanted to know specifically which part of my back and I said I didn't know what the doctor ordered. Well, she said, you should know what part of your back hurts as though specific pain in one location is the only reason for a MRI. I said I have ongoing back problems, I'm not the doctor, I don't know what was ordered. She said she needed the information to fax the office. I said I was frustrated, she should just be able to ask in the fax and repeated I didn't write the order. She said she didn't need to deal with my hostility. In the middle of saying theres a difference between hostility and anger and frustration, but didn't get very far as she hung up on me. I'm sure my voice was raised, but I was not yelling or attacking her. So I called my doctors office, told them what happened, and asked them to refer me elsewhere. I wouldn't even bother calling - ask for a different place. read more

Haven't been there in several years. Was scheduled for an MRI. After nearly an hour past my appointment time, I informed the staff that I had a dental visit scheduled soon. "Just a few more minutes" More waiting, then finally told: "We're ready for you. You should call your dentist and put him off for a while" I left. Now a new Dr. has sent me for another scan. Just called and was given the: "Your call is very important to us. Please hold for next available agent" NOPE Going elsewhere. read more

ZERO Star. Staff was incompetent. After waiting for an hour, staff informed us that my dad was covered with Affinity, when in fact he was under Hill Physicians Medical Group (HPMG). Insurance card clearly said Hill Physicians. Staff refused to contact Anthem or Hill Physicians to verify the information. Our appointment was cancelled and we had to call Hill Physicians to find out what the discrepancy was. Hill Physicians confirmed that my dad has been with them since 2019 and called Norcal @ San Leandro on our behalves. The lady from Hill Physicians escalated the issue to a manager and proceeded to tell them firmly that they should have called Hill Physicians to verify the information instead of wasting their member's time. Furthermore, the manager on Norcal confirmed that they had indeed verified my dad's insurance as Hill Physicians after our appointments were cancelled. Which suggested that their staff knew something was wrong AFTERWARD. No callback from their staff to inform us. No attempt to reschedule the cancelled appointment. Poor ethics with this location's staff and management team. read more

My original post was edited and or deleted all together. My first experience at Norcal Imaging (San Leandro) was a great experience. The staff was great. I was originally a oakland patient at Norcal Imaging. I suddenly was sent to the San Leandro office but I was NEVER told why. I live in oakland and had no transportation. Staffing became very rude and service started being poor. My results was tampered with and I am still in need of resolving many health concerns. My mother was also a patient, she to was being charged for services her insurance should have covered. When covid-19 started many docters offices and pharmacy stores charged co payments for prescription and services that should have been covered. read more

Every time I call to make an appointment, there is at least a 20 minute wait! When I'm at the clinic, there are lots of people in the office and they don't appear to be terribly busy. This place needs a different phone/appointment strategy. I'm waiting right now and I'll record the results: 27 minute wait before anyone answered, then put on hold for three minutes while she verified who I am (I've been there every year for at least 10 years). Came in for an x-ray, which is a no appointment, walk-in service. Showed up mid-afternoon and the waiting room was a bit full. But I don't know why people are giving poor reviews for that, everyone is just showing up when they can, all wearing masks and being courteous. The young ladies working the front room were all very busy (answering phones!), but absolutely easy going and doing a fine job. My x-ray tech was just as good. read more

The reception people and customer service are very low. in order to schedule an appointment you have to wait on the phone for almost an hour. If you come to the office you will be treated as if you don't exist. Very slow, rude, inattentive. I was going to schedule 2 appointments for my mother and myself, but they really turned us off. good thing that there are other companies out there. read more

When I called to see about scheduling they didn't say that was an option. Then when I came in, they asked if I had an appointment. Unhelpful. Multiple people in waiting area without masks on. Avoid at all cost. X-RAYS are walk in only but they clearly don't go according to first come first served. I walked in before 3 people and they were called first. They have the most inefficient and unfriendly staff working the front desk. I'm asking my doc to send me somewhere else next time as I will not be returning here. read more

TOTALLY AGREE WITH OTHER ZERO STAR REVIEWERS. It took 30 min before someone picked up my call , AND the girl does NOT sound she's happy to be there. She won't help me even though, I already had my doctor's order and insurance authorization faxed to their office. She was adamant it would take another 7 to 10 business days to process my MRI scheduling, which is absurd. If I may , just go to Castro Valley Open MRI , their staff are very helpful. Should've stuck w SimonMed Imaging. At least they read your MRI within a day or two. Norcal San Leandro/Radnet? 4 day turn around plus add'l 4 days to upload. I think they need to hire more staff. NorCal Oakland at least give you cute socks to wear. San Leandro? Nope. My toes were cold as I didn't wear my socks. At least they were on time, took me in quickly, and was in and out in 30 minutes. I had a CT Scan in January. Received my bill in February, paid in full through their website. For 4 months people from their office would call me about the payment, I would tell them it's paid, help then pull my history on their CRM, they would go through the tickets and recognize they lost track of the payment and ask me to forward my receipt to Jennifer Smilie. I graciously took all their 6 calls, taking my time to help them figure out their problem. Now they sent me a collection letter. If you don't want MONTHS of time wasted and the stress of a collection threat, please go somewhere else. read more
