I limit myself due to my age and sensitivity my skin has gotten since turning 50. Yesterday, I sat for my usual treatment only to have her decide I needed a chin waxing. I have never had nor needed one and was quite shocked when she spread the wax on my chin. Before I could say anything, she said for me not to worry and that she had seen some hairs and RIPPED the wax off - along with my skin! Afterwards, while getting my nails done, I could feel the continued stinging and finally cried out to the nail technician who immediately began to assist in relieving my pain. She grabbed the tech who made the mistake, and she apologized while running out to get medicine to help. After waiting for 30 minutes, I left. The owner actually tried to make me pay, as customers were asking if I was going to be ok! HE didn't give 1 ounce of care or take accountability for his technician's mistake. He simply was telling everyone there was "a communication confusion." WILL NEVER, EVER GO BACK!

The third time is definitely the charm! Gayle is extremely proficient and really knows her craft. I had been to two other cosmetic tattoo technicians prior to Gayle and am soo grateful that I finally found her. Gayle is top-notch and cares about the outcome of her work; plus, she's really a nice person. So refreshing in a world gone nuts! I'll spare you the awful details of the first two experiences, but will say that the first tech left me with PURPLE!!--and I mean deep, dark purple lips (I'm not even into goth or punk rock)! I stupidly kept going back hoping she'd be able to fix it, but it just kept getting worse. The second tech left me with blotchy, very oddly shaped lips and she scarred me in several spots. Again, I kept going back with high hopes. Both of these techs charged me a lot of money and it took lots of time, with no resolve. For someone who doesn't like to wear much makeup, I was forced at all times to wear dark lip color to cover the mess. I typically wear pastel and brightly colored summer bright clothing, but, with those dark lips, it just clashed terribly. I always chose colors to wear according to my mood and wasn't able to do that for five years becauese of those dark lips. I know it sounds silly, but to me it was an ordeal and it had a huge impact on my spirit and my social life. From the first time that I talked to Gayle on the phone, I knew that it was finally going to be ok. I could tell by the questions that she asked that she knew exactly what to do. When I came to my first appointment, she custom blended some different colors and came up with the perfect, natural looking shade. I had to go back one more time and I must say my lips look so pretty! It is so lovely to be able to look in the mirror and feel happiness and gratitude, rather than regret. Gayle was even able to reduce the scar tissue in my lips significantly! Don't do what I did; just go to Gayle in the first place! You will be so happy with the results! p.s. I did my research and chose Gayle to do my eyebrows, eyeliner and lip color. She is extremely thorough: she first counseled me on which colors look best with my skin tone, and we tested colors before she applied them. For each of the eyebrows, eyes and lips, each line is perfect, smooth and even. She filled in each crevice in my lips so the color is very even and smooth. I love how all three look so natural - an enhancement of my natural coloring. She also checked in with me a few days after application to ensure that everything was healing properly and advised me what to do to enhance healing time. I am absolutely thrilled with the results!! I cannot say enough good things about Bodyworks and the work that Gayle does. I initially went in for laser hair removal and saw her brow work so I had to try it. It was the best thing I have ever done. My brows were sparse and uneven. It drove me crazy every single day trying to fix them so my face didn't look lopsided. Gayle did such an amazing job with them that I had to hug her when she finished! It wasn't about being pretty for me. The building was easy to find, but I had to call Ebony upon arriving because her shop is located in the basement and I couldn't figure out how to get there based on the door I entered. She should probably provide instructions to let clients know which door to enter and how to get downstairs when she confirms appointments. It was actually kind of scary down there to me since it was dark and there were no other offices open in the basement. As other reviewers noted, Ebony is super sweet. Very accommodating and personable. The actual room where she does the facials is really small compared to the other place I usually go. I actually mentioned to her how short and narrow the table/bed was where you lay for the procedure. The table is also right next to a wall, which is unusual as well since other places have enough space to walk around as you lay down, to provide other services, like massages. The facial was fine, but not as extensive as the ones I usually get. It's important to note that her prices are also half the cost of what I typically pay. Definitely not a luxury experience, but ok if you need a quick, cheaper facial that takes care of the basics.
