Chef Jeffrey Lloyd presented each dish and explained the ingredients. The Ahi Two Way with a delicious Carpaccio and a scrmptuous Tartare. It was paired with a 2025 Los Carneros Chenin Blanc and a 2024 Mt. Veeder Dry Riesling, which is one of my favorites for white wine. I was then pleasantly surprised with the Asparagus Soup. Who knew? When I say it was good, I wanted to lick the bowl and ask for more, and I don't even like Asparagus. The thought of consuming the poached quail egg made me feel some type of way. It may have been my first time, but it won't be my last time. DELICIOUS. The soup was paired with a 2023 Los Caneros Chardonnay and an aromatic 2021 Grenache. The best was definitely saved for last. The entre was swine on swine but it was not a crime, it was DEVINE. Prosciutto Wrapped Pork Tenderloin. This was so tender and juicy that it melted in my mouth.( I felt like Homer Simpson.) Throughout the tour, we are educated on the fact that they have two different addresses because they are at the border of both Sonoma County and Napa! Literally best of both worlds! PEJU is also one of the few wineries with a permit to serve food. If I had known ahead of time, I would've planned to eat here! The rilettes were super tempting, but Joseph advised that if I was planning to eat a meal afterward to stick to the chips and dip - this ended up being quite a generous portion as well, and I really enjoyed the goat cheese truffle dip alongside the wine tasting :) Overall, PEJU is definitely a beautiful winery to visit with excellent service, and I'll definitely be back!
