This is a great place to bring your kids family, etc. I didn't know that this place had a private area for music. There's a small cover where you can see live bands. This is definitely something that I want to be checking out for the future. Bowling is obviously their main attraction. They have a lot of lanes and they do a great job you pay by the hour. The best part is that they have a great happy hour and I would recommend finding a time when that is because it's a great place to eat and drink while you bowl. We ordered lots of appetizers and everything was above par frozen food. For a quick appetizers, we were happy. Better than Applebee's any day. Overall, a great place to bring your kids. I come here to bowl mostly. In the summer they also do the "kids bowl free" it's an awesome program I suggest everyone sign up for! The food is pretty decent for bar food and they have happy hour specials during the week. Is it fancy and new? NO, but it's affordable and fun! The only thing I won't recommend is actually going to Bogart's restaurant. The bar tender usually is the only one running the whole restaurant so be prepared to wait. read more

This is a dive bar with some really good bands and a large dance floor and spacious parking lot. I rate it with that expectation in mind. I only go when I'm there for a band I like. Range of ages but skewed to the 40+ crowd which is fine with me. I feel safe going alone. One of the few places that will reserve tables for a group. Wait staff is friendly but a little understaffed so that is a good control for passing the tests if you get pulled over by the AVPD another review mentioned. They have ok bar food and plain well drinks. Meet friends and have fun; if you're expecting a five star dining experience go somewhere else first. read more

I had never been to Bogarts prior to this past Saturday night even though I have lived in Apple Valley for 14 years. After my visit, I understand why...I met a friend there ONLY because the AV Winter Concerts have changed venues from Valleywood to Bogarts. Here are examples of poor management: 1. You were grossly understaffed for an event that brought a large crowd to your facility. This is completely unacceptable. 2. There was a 45 minute wait for a hamburger and COLD fries....really? 3. Your menu was incorrect. Everything I ordered was priced higher on my check. Get your act together and revise your menu to reflect the correct prices. At the very LEAST, instruct your wait staff to tell you that the price has increased when you place your order. When I asked about my check being incorrect, I was given a flippant excuse. I will be back for the last concert in March. I will only order your HH wine. Hopefully I will not be overcharged for that. read more

But when we went to pay my math of much much it should've been was wrong, I feel like I should have paid less but my math could've been wrong. OK as a bar, but if you want dinner, skip it! I've been to Bogart's Before to see the dueling pianos and had a fun time, so I knew going into this that we were going to a bar for dinner. When we walked into the restaurant, the patio area seemed very nice and appealing, however there were several shady looking characters sitting out there smoking, so we decided to go inside. Once inside, we were first hit with a stale, beerhall/bowling alley stench. There were no signs to inform one where to go for the restaurant, so we first walked into one of the bar areas that looked most open, thinking that would be the restaurant. The bartender asked us if we had a Groupon, and told us to go in the other bar area. It was dark, smelly and uninviting in the other bar area, and there was exactly one other table with a mother and her two children present in the restaurant, so it was not busy at all. Despite this, we walked in, seated ourselves when no one appeared to be on duty, found that the table we sat at was wobbly, tried another table, found it was worse, looked for another table that was clean to sit at, as most of our other choices were dirty. Just as we were finding a clean, stable table to sit at, the waitress came with menus. We informed her of our Groupon and ordered our drinks. She brought the drinks back pretty quickly, but the beer was lukewarm and served in plastic tumblers, which was not appealing at all. She didn't ask for our appetizer order, and left. We waited for her to come back for longer than was reasonable, especially given the fact that they were not busy in the least, with only one other table of guests to wait on. She finally came back and took our order, and we waited again for longer than seemed appropriate for the lack of customers in the restaurant. When the appetizers arrived, the nacho chips were stale albeit somewhat passable if you were grabbing nachos at the ballpark, but not what one expects when you're out for an evening with friends. The loaded potato skins tasted bland and previously frozen, and sadly the seasoned sour cream was the best part about them, which isn't saying much. The "entrees" had very limited choices, with burgers, wraps, or sandwiches being the only choices besides a taco salad on the menu (no thank you, we just tried the nachos and they were nothing to write home about). The burgers took far longer than reasonable, and were an unappealing greasy gray, tasting of freezer burn, with stale buns. The chicken honey mustard wrap had wilted iceberg lettuce, and cold chopped chicken pieces with way too much sauce. The kicker was that just as our meal was finished (what we could choke down), a large group of league bowlers came in and took over the entire dining room, with the leader shouting to be heard by members of the various leagues, so that we couldn't have a conversation at our table, as we couldn't hear one another. We waited and waited for the waitress to come back, or even come to wait on the bowling league members, as they surrounded us now, and we finally left when she never came back (probably because she was waiting for the bowling director to stop shouting and conducting elections for president, secretary, and treasurer of the bowling league). I would never go back there again, although I live in Apple Valley and it's relatively close to my house, and I asked for my money back from Groupon. Yes, it was that bad. read more

The employees here were very disrespectful and very unwelcoming. I came here with a group of people around 10 PM. Keep in mind, they do not close until 1:00 AM. We are the only customers here and we have about an hour left to bowl. It's about 12:00 AM and the workers seem to be in a rush to kick us out. They rudely flicker the lights as we bowl and stare as they impatiently wait for us to finish. We are enjoying our time here and one of the workers, who seem to be the manager or person in charge, approaches us and asks "do you think this is your last game?" How do you ask your customers that, especially when there is an hour left until they close. That is unacceptable and shows poor customer service. If they're going to close at 1 AM like the hours say and all the signs say, they should keep open until they actually close and not rudely ask inappropriately if we're going to be finished soon when it's time to close yet. Long waits for drinks, management that is only looking to close as soon as possible, pressuring pull tabs to close early as well...you are burning your customers when half of the reason for your business being successful is service until 2am. Went there on a Sunday afternoon for a reserved bowling--got there 9 minutes early and simply wanted to 'check in' and were told (very curtly) come back at 2:00 ( our reserved time)! No response such as--"thanks for coming, as soon as your lanes open up we'll let you know". When asked if we could get our shoes so we would be ready, the reply was 'no'. When I told the desk clerk that he was rude in his response his reply was "you misheard me". When I pointed out that all he said, and all I heard was 'no' - he then explained the reason. The desk people were very rude!! There are a number of bowling alleys that all provide the same product, if you can't have friendly, helpful staff manning the desk, you are sadly lacking! On Friday, November 1st, we went to Bogart's, intending to use our Groupon. After waiting about 10 minutes with no one on staff appearing to notice that we were there, my wife went up to the bar and asked for menus and to have a server come to the table. After another 15 minutes, during which the server made a number of trips to the party seated directly in front of the bar, we still had not been approached. We then left, as this is longer than I am willing to wait when the place is not busy. On our way out, I commented to the individual pouring drinks behind the bar that we were leaving, due to the extremely long wait without service. This drew a response of shrugged shoulders and "Ehh". A group of us went to this restaurant because of everything it had to offer. We could eat, bowl, and finish the night off with entertainment. However, when we pulled into the parking lot it was empty (sat. night). I now know why. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant the waitress complained about how she could have gone home if we didn't walk in. Very rude, especially when it looked like they could use the buissness! The bowling was fun. I suppose because it didn't require us to interact with the staff there while we bowled. After we bowled, we ended our evening in the bar to enjoy some dueling pianos. The wait staff was very rude. My overall impression of this place was that they didn't want business. I felt the wait staff would be happy if we left and they could just sit around. As i looked around, not one table stayed long. many groups of people left shortly after being there. I'm not sure if others were experiencing the same rudeness by wait staff, but other places I have been to that have live entertainment getting a table is difficult. at this place there were plenty of open tables and if a table had people at it they would leave 20-30minutes after they siat down. I wonder if the owner knows how rude his/her wait staff is? This place has potential, however if they continue to treat people who are spending money there rudely, they will be out of business. read more
