This place scratches all of the pub itches you may have in Southern Berkshire County. They have affordable week day specials for dinner. The service is consistent, friendly, and accommodating. They have a driving range, pool tables, a juke box, and KENO! Food is good. The more standard your pub-fare order is, the happier you'll be. Generous portion - especially with their nachos.. one of my favorites. In a surprise move, they also have a salad bar. It's expensive relative to their menu, but it brings me joy and makes me think I'm 15 again, when a salad bar was more standard and available for a special treat. Good local bar scene. Live music and events on weekends (although I've never partaken). Its location probably allows it to score higher than it would if there was any actual competition within 25 minutes. If you're in the area or live locally, go! Don't drive out of your way unless you're coming in for the entertainment. read more

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Bogies and they served our 70 guests abundantly and with precision and joy, the staff insisting that they were so happy to be there! They were able to take us on short notice as we had to change our previously-planned venue. The service was excellent, the food was really good and the staff was efficient and cheerful! Rick was delightful to work with - and his mom was there helping to set up while we decorated in the morning, which was a lovely addition to our morning! KUDOS! Overall **** 3.58 Stars in the weighted grading system so just barely making it to 4 Stars overall. I don't think anyone would come here for the ambiance but it seemed generally clean, cared for and there are certainly not a lot of options in the area. I found the service to be very good and my sandwich was prepared very well and with enough care that I'm pretty confident in that the rest of the menu would equal it. While not a true bargain the price point is within my expectations. Setting *** The restaurant is set way back and barely visible from the road and the driveway and parking lot is not paved, there were lots of puddles and mud to deal with so don't wear your good shoes. Inside it is badly in need of an update from the 1980's look. The carpet is beat up as are the tabletops and chairs, I didn't find it dirty, just worn down. The dining room to the left was closed on a Monday afternoon but it is large with high ceilings and a lot of sunlight pouring in. The bar area is the opposite as it has low ceilings and is dark, there is a pool hall beyond the bar. At 3:45 on a Monday afternoon there was only three regulars at the bar. Service **** The lone bartender Emily served double duty as our server and was very pleasant, friendly and offered up suggestions with ease. The kitchen didn't open until 4:00 but Emily said not to worry and took my order. Food **** At Emily's strong suggestion I went with the French Dip even though I really wanted to try something different just because I'm becoming boring. Nonetheless her suggestion was spot on as the sandwich had a wonderful soft but chewy roll, the sliced Prime Rib while fully cooked was incredibly tender. The Au Jus which had onions and rosemary added made me hesitant at first but those additions made it so savory and delicious. In all fairness the food was fairly good. The service was nonexistent, one bartender looked at us and walked away, the other turned her back on us then finally said, I thought he waited on you. There was no one else eating in the bar and yet it took over half an hour to get served. As far as ambiance if it depended on conversation there was none. The prices on the menu did not match the actual price. There is a charge for using a debit card even though the banks do not charge the business a fee. If you are looking for a dark bar which hasn't seen much in the way of updates since the '80s to hang out in and watch football & drink beer, this is your place. If however you are looking for a restaurant with good food, nice facilities and good service, by the love of God do not go to Bogies. Despite the bad reviews on Yelp & other sites we made reservations for dinner because our guest of honor wanted steak and we were told Bogies was good. On arrival, (standing at the "Please wait to be seated sign" for a LONG time), we discovered the dining area was closed and the bartender was the only wait staff. We made the bad choice of eating in the bar area (actually, at tables shoved together on the raised Karaoke stage overlooking the loud bar with cursing Giants fans). The only person of our party who liked the food was an 8-year-old who tried Chicken Marsala for the first time, you can be the judge of the refinement of his palate (although it should be noted he opted not to take home the leftover side of fries). The salad bar was basic and several of our party complained the romaine was very bitter and didn't bother finishing their salads. After discovering they were out of turkey burgers, I opted for a chipotle chicken wrap with fries; I was tempted by a fish entrée but thought that would be expecting too much from this place so I stuck to bar fare which would be more their wheelhouse. It didn't help. The wrap, although not dry, had no flavor at all. When you say "chipotle" you assume at least a little spice, right? The fries, which were ordered well done, were flabby and grease soaked, pushing a fork on them caused the grease to ooze out and puddle on the plate. Even the pickle spear was disgusting...how can you ruin a pickle?! Others ordered steaks and were at best unimpressed, my daughter ended up with a large piece of inedible gristle and opted not to take home her leftovers. The bartender was very personable and did her best to manage the rowdy bar of fans and service our table at the same time, however did miss the bacon smothering the baked potato our vegetarian's order. When he and his race car buddies are coming home from Lime Rock, they appreciate Bogie's parking area, because they can maneuver their trailers into it. I've eaten here twice. The first time I got a prime rib dinner which was pretty decent. I think it was just my BF and I in the dining room so service was quick. The second time I came here I ordered the beef goulash or something like that. I don't remember the exact name of what I ordered but it literally looked like they emptied a can of alpo dog food in the plate and melted some cheese on top of it. Horrible... it looked reguritated. Usually hit the $1 Rolling Rock draft special. The usual bartender is fantastic. They have keno, serve that up, quickly, keep the $1 draft drunks in beer and still wait 5 tables. Pub side had a nice bar, a couple of pool tables and a small stage for live music. Menu was pretty small but the sirloin, tho a little pricey, was very very good. Wait staff was tentive and friendly. We had our hopes up to try out this great BBQ joint near Abby's parent's house in Great Barrington called Route 7 Grill. Sadly, it was 3:30 on a Saturday and it was between lunch and dinner so we were out of luck there. Down the street was Boggies, a bar that Abby used to frequent often in her younger years. On it's premise was a driving range, which I thought was pretty neat. Too bad the rest of the bar wasn't as neat. It was cheap, I'll give it that. But the food was medicore and the service was a little slow, especially since there was only us 4 and a group of people watching the World Cup. The driving range and the games in the back adds 1/2 a point and I give Boggies a 2 and 1/2 out of 5. read more

My family and I just moved to Connecticut from New York and we were looking for a place to grab a bite. We just so happened to pass the sign to the restaurant and figured we would give it a shot. It's cozie inside and the food is amazing. I had the bogies steak salad. The blue cheese dressing has to be homemade because it was out of this world. I was a little skeptical after reading the other reviews, but only wanted takeout pizza and wings and figured they couldn't mess that up. You should be aware that they CHARGE A FEE for takeout. What?! Besides that they overcharged me and the bartender was so confused that I ended up paying more than I was supposed to and simply left. The food was unimpressive and I would not return.
